In James 4:1-3, the apostle identifies the root of human conflict: the desires of the heart. Frustration arises when our longings go unmet, often spilling over into quarrels and fights. James reminds us that even prayer can be misused if our motives are selfish, seeking only personal pleasure. True peace and resolution begin when we examine our hearts, surrender our desires to God, and align our motives with His will. By doing so, God transforms conflict into opportunities for humility, growth, and reconciliation.
