SPEAKER_00Welcome to Moments of Worship. I'm Keith McMahon, Worship Pastor at Bethel Baptist Church in Yorktown, Virginia. This podcast seeks to encourage you in the worship of Almighty God each weekday. I'm coming to you for these episodes in the next couple days from Boston, Massachusetts. I am visiting a great new friend in the gospel ministry. Well, I've been known to go through Bojangles drive-thru. I don't know if any of you like Bojangles, those that are listening in the United States. I like chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy. And uh every time I go to this one Bojangles in the back of the building, there are all these geese walking around and pecking the ground and walking around the pond. My whole family likes to see them when we go. We get tickled, laughing at them, walking around without a care in the world. And I often think as I'm driving through to get my chicken, how do these birds survive out there in the wild? Now I know that it is God who feeds them as he cares for his creation, but often think how does he do this? He is an amazing God. Well today we're thinking about God as our provider. Jehovah Jira means the Lord will provide. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Well, as we said already, God provides for the birds. Friend, he will surely provide for you. Take a moment and think about all the ways that God has provided for you in your life. You could easily take the rest of the day listing all the many ways. Philippians four nineteen speaks of and my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. God provides for our needs, not out of scarcity, but from the abundance of his glory in Christ. Beloved, we can trust his provision in every season of our life. When the sun is shining, when the clouds are over our head, when we don't know what is going to come in the next couple days, whether we're going to be able to pay that bill or feed our family. We should trust in Almighty God. I don't know what you're facing, dear one, that are listening all over the world, if you're facing financial hardship or needing shelter, food and water, clothing, health, or praying for some other need to be filled. My exhortation to you today, dear one, is trust Jesus. He will provide for you according to his will. He is a good God and cares for his own and all of his promises are true, and he will keep all of them. Would you hear this word of benediction out of Romans fifteen, verse thirteen? May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Well, thank you, dear friend, for joining me today on moments of worship. Pray that you've been encouraged to trust in Almighty God. He is faithful. His mercies are new every morning. Great is his faithfulness. I pray that you would find great rest in God's provision today over your life. Like or subscribe to the podcast so you can uh hear everyone and be encouraged in the Lord. Send me a note. I would love to hear from you how God is working in your life. I hope you have a great Thursday. Thanks for listening.
