A tiny tech mishap. A bigger heart check. We open our week with a clear, urgent reminder from 1 Corinthians 10:31: whatever we do—on stage, at work, around the table—must aim at the glory of God. A misfired Pro Tools cue and a few honest memories of onstage stumbles become more than anecdotes; they turn into a lens for how pride creeps in and how God, in kindness, keeps us low so we can keep Him high.
We share updates on a soon-to-release book and an upcoming Abide in God conference at Bethel Baptist Church, then move straight into the substance: worship leaders and teams are vessels, not the point. From the little rock on the console that reads “Be humble” to the reality that every good gift is from above, we trace a simple path toward a healthier culture—one where serving beats spotlight and Christ alone earns the boast. You’ll hear practical ways to carry this beyond Sunday: choosing honest stories over polished myths, meeting neighbors and coworkers with a posture of service, and letting small daily habits become acts of worship.
Consider this a reset: tune your heart before your instrument, welcome the humbling moments, and let your craft, conversations, and choices point past you to God. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs courage today, and leave a quick review telling us how you practice humility when life goes off script.

SPEAKER_00Hi friends and welcome to Moments of Worship. This podcast seeks to be an encouragement to you in the worship of Almighty God each weekday. Thank you for joining me on this Monday, February the 16th. Well, I want to give just an update about my soon-to-be book that's coming out, if you wouldn't mind me sharing about that. All the final rounds of edits are in and complete. The staff at Redemption Press have just been wonderful and got the last book cover design draft, and I'm happy with that. It looks so good. And look forward to having that book release party on April the 30th with more details and time to come. If you would like to receive some messages about that updates, click the send me a text on your favorite podcast app and write your name and send me your email and we'll make sure to put you on the mailing list. The next day begins our Abide in God conference at Bethel Baptist Church Friday and Saturday, May 1st and 2nd. We will be hearing great messages from preachers in the area, all centered around the book scene, No One Like Him. We'll have guest musicians, a lot of breakouts. It is going to be fantastic. And then we conclude the whole weekend with a big night of worship. You won't want to miss this special time. Mark it down in your calendars today. Today's podcast episode is rather brief, but very poignant. Paul says in 1 Corinthians ten thirty one Whatever you do, whether you eat or drink, do all for the glory of God. Whatever you do, whether you eat or drink, do all for the glory of God. Well this is what our life's focus should be about the glory of God. Now Jesus conquered sin in the flesh and we walk in his resurrection, but we still live in our physical bodies in the flesh, and we have this struggle of pride, of wanting self exaltation, of living in self-sufficiency, of liking the light to be on us as brightly as it can shine. Well, God in his kindness will do things to keep us humble. Yesterday on Sunday, we have a wonderful, wonderful worship team. And as we began, we used technology in various ways. And as we began, the computer was lined up in a way in Pro Tools that it fired at the end of the song instead at the beginning of the song. So we had to just take a brief minute and our wonderful Pro Tools user Marissa just advanced it right back to the beginning and on we went. Now you may be asking yourself, Pastor Keith, why are you telling us about that story? Well, things like that have a way of humbling us as musicians. Maybe we hit a wrong chord, or maybe we, like in college, when I was leading a group of young adults, college students, I came up to the mic to lead a song, and my front teeth, boom, hit the front of the microphone in front of all those college students. And I was a college student myself. I remember moments like that, and in the times that it's happening, I really don't care for. But one thing that it does do is it helps to humble us. It helps to humble us. And we can always use more humility. My friend John Gathers is our AV team lead at church. There's a rock, a little rock sitting on the console, the front of house mixer, and it says this, be humble. Be humble. Now, friend, all that we have received that is good is from God. And we have nothing to boast in except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Christian worship is about God. It's about Him. We are just privileged to be His vessels, to lead the church in biblical worship. It's not about us. We are as signposts, as my mentor friend Bob Coughlin said. We are just pointing people to God. We are pointing people to God. And so though that moment was not one that I would uh like to see happen every week, it helps us to humble ourselves and we could all use more humility. Friend, whether you eat or drink, do all for the glory of God. As you live your life at your job, as you interact with your family members, as you walk down the street and see your neighbor, be about raising the banner of God, the glory of God in every way you can and look for ways that you can set yourself up to serve others, to not make yourself the hero of every story, to not exaggerate the story so that you sound better in a particular case than you actually do. And I think doing those things helps us just set a framework, a DNA, a culture, so to speak, that we're used to recognizing that all we have is from God, and our only boast should be in Jesus Christ. Any good that is within us is from God. We read that in James chapter one. God has done amazing things in our lives, friends. If we know Him, and I pray if you don't know Him, that you would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and repent of your sins, that today would be the day of salvation that you would call upon the name of the Lord. Well, friend, as Paul says, whether you eat or you drink or whatever you do, do all for the glory of God. Well, thank you for joining me on Moments of Worship this day as we've continued our series on biblical worship. I look forward to seeing you right back here on Tuesday, February the 17th. Well, until tomorrow and forever, may we worship Jesus Christ. Thank you for listening.
