Welcome And Purpose

SPEAKER_00

Hi friend, welcome to Moments of Worship on this Friday, February the 27th. This podcast seeks to be an encouragement to you in the worship of Almighty God each weekday. I am your host, Pastor Keith McMinn. Thank you for joining me on this episode on Friday. Hope you've had a really great week. Well today I want to do a special episode on giving thanks. The scripture says in all things give thanks. In all things give thanks. As I was coming home today from church, I was thinking about all the things that I'm thankful to God for for this week. And I just started to make a list as I got home. A relaxing day off on Monday to rest, that's my normal day off. Time to be with my daughter Carly Tuesday. And this week we've gotten closer and closer each day, and I'm super thankful for that. Children are a gift from God. I'm thankful that God is near to the brokenhearted as I saw him working in people's lives this week. I'm thankful for my friends, Andrew, Liz, and Luke, as they come here each week and record their wonderful podcast, Eternal Creatures. They are such wonderful Christian young adults. Praise God for them. I'm thankful for my friend and instructor at the Academy that I lead, Hunter, for putting the new drum kits together for the Academy today. That was a lot of fun to see him. I'm so grateful for his humility. I'm thankful for my friend and now Abiding God ministry team member, Missy Linkletter, and her wonderful writing and friendship to Joy and I. You're such a blessing to us. My friend and assistant, Susan Goldsmith, today is her birthday. I'm thankful for how she serves King Jesus and the ministry at Bethel. I'm thankful for my friend Wesley and the wonderful business of StageRite. They are a wonderful company in Virginia Beach that our church has partnered with for well over a decade. They have served us well as we've yes partnered together as a business in a church, but they have a real heart for service, and especially Wesley in his humility. God's given him great knowledge, and has really served to further the kingdom of Jesus Christ at Bethel. I'm thankful for our A V team just again tonight. They were there late, serving, thinking, cleaning, connecting cables. I'm so thankful for them. I'm thankful for Tom, Larry Nestor, Larry A. G. Vaughn for their work this week in painting the new drum room for our Academy students to learn drums. I'm thankful for that. I'm thankful for two dear friends that without the knowledge of the other one, they donated money that I may have a Mac Studio computer to handle the big project that I'm getting ready to write. More on that in the future. I'm thankful for Pastor Doug, as he shared the gospel so clearly today at the funeral of Jerry Schrader. Friend, we have so much to be thankful for. This is just a very brief list that I wrote down. What are you thankful for? What are you thankful for this day? A lot of times we think about giving thanks in November, or maybe Thanksgiving week or Thanksgiving Day. What blessings from the Lord have you seen this week? How he's given you common grace to live, breathe, and have your being. Friend, we can live in a way when it's hot, say I wish it was cold, or when it's cold, say I wish it was hot, while all the while we have blessings upon blessings in our life. You remember the hymn, count your many blessings, name them one by one. Well, if we were to count the blessings from our wonderful God, we would count the rest of our life, for that is how kind He has been to you and me. Amen. Amen. Friend, please pray for me as I go into the weekend. I'm praying about what new series that we should do on the podcast. I've got a couple ideas and I've asked a couple friends for counsel and prayer. If you have a thought maybe that you would like for me to cover in the podcast in future weeks, future months, I would love to hear from you. Click the send me a text. I look forward to seeing you right back here on Monday, Lord willing, with the beginning of a new series. I hope you have a great Christ centered weekend. Go to a wonderful gospel centered church this Sunday. Well, friend, until tomorrow and forever, may we worship Jesus Christ. Thanks for listening.
