Why do we fear failure so deeply? In a world built on performance and rankings, it’s easy to believe that our worth rises and falls with our success. But this episode reminds us of a greater truth: for the Christian, identity is not defined by performance but by Christ. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 5:17 and Philippians 1:6 (ESV), we are encouraged to rest in the reality that we are new creations in Christ and that God Himself is faithfully completing the work He began in us. Our failures do not define us—God’s grace does. If you struggle with the fear of falling short, this episode will help you reframe your perspective, anchoring your identity not in achievement, but in the unchanging faithfulness of God.

Then the next day we're going to have a conference, and the theme is going to be around my book title, No One Like Him: Beholding the Beauty of God. We'll have guest preachers, breakout session, guest musicians that will be leading us in worship from regional churches. And then Sunday night we will have a night of worship at Bethel from 6 30 to 8. You won't want to miss this special time of biblical rich encouragement. Well, on to our episode today as we continue our new series on fear. F is probably the least liked letter in the alphabet. Now why do I say that? Well, because from grade school onwards, society is built on a ranking system, A at the top and F at the bottom. I can think of many people who would love to receive an A plus, but I cannot think of anyone who enjoys getting an F. Now some people say, well, I just don't care about grades. But I think if you talk to them long enough, you will usually discover something deeper. Most of us want to succeed. We want to do well in the eyes of others. We want to complete the project, be dependable, and not be seen as a quitter, a dropout, or a failure. In other words, we fear failure. But for the Christian, there is an important truth we must remember. Our work is just that. It's our work. It is something we do, but not something that ultimately defines who we are. Yes, our work connects our values and our character, but our identity, friend, is deeper than our performance. An F should never define a person, as should an A, especially a Christian. If you belong to Christ, you are a child of God and a new creation. Scripture reminds us that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Second Corinthians five seventeen. Your identity is not rooted in your successes or your failures, but in the redeeming work of Christ. And what God creates, He sustains. God never abandons His children, He carries them all the way to the finish line of salvation. As the Apostle Paul writes, He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1 6. That promise is not limited only to the moment of conversion. It extends to the whole of our Christian walk. The gifts God gives, the work he calls us to, the way he grows us for the edification of the church. He is faithfully working through all of it. So when the fear of failure creeps into your heart, remember this your life is not graded on a human scale, even when there's man all around. Your identity is secure in Christ, and your faithful God is committed to finishing the work he has begun in you. And you know what? He will. Well, dear friend, thank you so much for joining me on Moments of Worship today. May we trust Almighty God that He who began a good work in you will be faithful until the day of completion. Well, until tomorrow and forever, may we worship Jesus Christ. Thanks for listening.
