You know that feeling when you’re about to hit send on a tough message, walk into a meeting, or make a decision you can’t undo and you think, “What should I do next?” We live there more often than we admit. We do not just need better tactics or sharper instincts. We need wisdom, and we need it from God.
We walk through why God’s wisdom is not a vague idea but a steady anchor for real-life decision-making. A.W. Tozer captures it beautifully: God’s acts flow from perfect wisdom, pure goodness, and a plan that reaches farther than our timelines. We connect that to Scripture, from Proverbs 3:19 on God’s wisdom in creation to Isaiah 28:29 on His wonderful plan. If God lays the foundations of the world by wisdom, He can surely guide the next step you’re facing.
Then we get practical and personal. James 1:5 gives a direct invitation to pray for wisdom with confidence because God gives generously without reproach. We talk about what it looks like to pause, humble ourselves, and ask for wisdom in the middle of office meetings, family conversations, and moments where someone else’s struggle is in our hands. We also reflect on Martin Luther’s insight that God often works through weakness and suffering so His wisdom and power become unmistakable.
If this encourages you, share it with a friend who needs steadiness today, and subscribe, leave a review, and tell us what situation you’re asking God for wisdom in right now.

SPEAKER_00Welcome to Moments of Worship. I'm Keith McMinn, Worship Pastor at Bethel Baptist Church in Yorktown, Virginia. Friend, this podcast seeks to encourage you in the worship of Almighty God each weekday. Have you ever found yourself wondering, what should I do next? Or maybe what is the best decision how to handle a conversation with a friend or maybe a coworker? Should I purchase this or should I purchase that? Maybe what school shall you study for for your online master's degree? Or how should I counsel this person that's going through an addiction struggle? There are many things that we need wisdom from. Well, friend, God is wise and all wisdom comes from him. AW Tozer in his wonderful volume The Knowledge of the Holy states All God's acts are done in perfect wisdom, first for his own glory and then for the highest good of the greatest number for the longest time. And all his acts are as pure as they are wise, and as good as they are wise and pure. I believe this statement beautifully captures the essence of God's perfect wisdom. We know that God was perfectly wise in his creation, as we read in Proverbs three nineteen. By wisdom the Lord laid the f earth's foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place. And we read in Isaiah twenty-eight twenty-nine All this comes from the Lord Almighty, whose plan is wonderful, whose wisdom is magnificent. You and I need wisdom from God. James speaks to this by saying, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. When we're at a meeting in the office or a meeting at home, we need to humble ourselves before others and before the Lord and stop and pray and ask for wisdom. And God is so gracious and kind that he will grant it. Our God is perfectly wise in all things. One of my heroes of the faith, Martin Luther, I believe he models Joshua one. Martin Luther was courageous as he stood up for the faith, for the word of God. He states about God's wisdom in this way for God in his majesty and wisdom has chosen to work through weakness, suffering, and even folly in the eyes of men, in order that his power and wisdom might be made manifest. Oh the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God, how unsearchable his judgments and his paths beyond tracing out. I really do pray that you are encouraged. If you are encouraged, please share it with somebody that you know could use a word of encouragement this day. I would love to hear from you. I'm so thankful for all of you that are writing in, sending me text through the app, or sending me an email, or sending me a text if you have my phone number. It's really a joy to hear from you, hear how God's working in your life. You can send me an email at doxology at bbcorktown.org. Well, join us next time on Moments of Worship. And until then, may we worship our all wise God. Thanks for listening.
