Psalm 1 paints a clear contrast between the righteous and the wicked. The blessed man refuses to be shaped by the counsel and influence of the world, but instead delights in the Word of God and meditates on it continually. As his life is rooted deeply in Scripture, he becomes like a tree planted by streams of water—stable, fruitful, and spiritually vibrant. In contrast, the wicked are like chaff, empty and unstable, ultimately facing judgment and destruction. This psalm reminds us that every person is walking one of two paths, and true flourishing is found in a life anchored in God and His Word.
