Convinced God Moves
Guests describe a season of struggle and how they found hope to press on.
We tend to have surface level conversations. This is appropriate in a parking lot or grocery store but in this podcast the aim will be to go deeper!
The plumb line is simply this - share something tough that impacted your life. The tricky thing is finding people who will unpack these kind of stories with a microphone sitting in front of them. But I'm going to keep asking and we'll see where this goes.
I authentically believe this type of sharing helps people! We need a counter balance from the constant highlight reels. There is value in holding space to listen to hard stuff. The added bonus is we might walk away with a little more hope for our own battles.

Broken Marriage
Warning - this episode isn't for little ears & could be triggering for those who have/had spouses fighting addiction.
Bri shares her experience as the one betrayed in her marriage & William shares his experience as the one caught in bondage. Both are incredibly honest about the root issues that they were dealing with and how they hurt each other through the shame and the anger.
William gives his timeline of "stopping cold turkey" and how that didn't last. Both Bri and William share the eye openers in their addiction support group (Celebrate Recovery) and describe how that group "tending the soil" for what God would eventually do in their understanding of who God is.
Willam and Bri are excited to share their marriage testimony because the understanding of what they needed finally clicked in both of their hearts. Listen for them both snapping their fingers at different times in this episode.
How do you deal with your mistakes? How do you deal with your shame? William shares about a recent sermon that is giving him words to explain his victory over addiction. Much like the two disciples and their deep regrets hours before Jesus died on the cross. We can respond like Judas (run, hide and end his life) or as Peter did (repent and chase after Jesus).
