Gator pulls Slice into a running of errands
Does it take more fuel to idle a car for a few minutes or to turn it off and restart it?
SPEAKER_03There's probably been research done on that to like probably to like a certain amount of time. Yeah. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But I I a as far as what that amount of time is, I couldn't tell you. But it probably it probably makes sense to shut it off if it's going to be on for, you know, I'm making this up, but five minutes or something.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Because I'm almost out of gas.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Are we going somewhere?
SPEAKER_07Yeah. I got an adventure. All right, let's go. If that's all right. Now, I would say that uh this adventure should needs flip-flops.
SPEAKER_03I do need flip-flops? Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Well, you could you could go barefooted, but get get in your car barefoot? Yeah. That's absurd.
SPEAKER_03What are you talking about?
SPEAKER_07I love I I love to travel around barefoot, but it's hard to do anymore.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but you don't but you don't do that when uh you don't do that like uh when you go somewhere, right?
SPEAKER_07When you get away from the water. Well, I did though. I did in my twenties. I did that all the time. I'd go to Walmart and stuff, you know? I know, but now I don't do that anymore. But I don't know what you do. You're not gonna go out, you're not gonna go out barefooted into a store somewhere.
SPEAKER_03Right. But although yeah. But flip-flops are kind of the same thing. But in my 20s, I do remember this is super embarrassing to even admit this. But I did try to go into a Walmart with no shoes on. Yeah. I was I was probably not even 20. I was probably like 18.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. And well, you say you tried, they didn't let you in? Of course they didn't let me in. Well, I did that kind of stuff, but I guess I'm older than you.
SPEAKER_03Oh, wait, I need my wallet here.
SPEAKER_07They hadn't made those rules yet. Uh welcome to number one podcast for people, uh, Adventure Edition. Um I've driven through the bumpiest road ever to Sliceberg's house. He didn't know we were going anywhere. He was just chilling on the couch, thinking on the porch, thinking, oh, we're just gonna be sitting on the porch. Gotta kinda clean up the car a little bit. It's pretty bad. Run for him.
SPEAKER_03Alright, so no, no shirt, no shoes, no service.
SPEAKER_07I'm Gator. I'm Sliceberg. And um, we're gonna do something. This is what see Sliceberg here is just like gang. You know, he's like, yeah, let's go. Where are we going? Where are we going? He's s he's chilling on the um porch and barefoot, just ready to just do like some couch sessions, right? And just hanging out.
SPEAKER_03Right. Next thing I know.
SPEAKER_07And uh I'm like, man, my my truck's almost out of gas.
SPEAKER_03Well, we gotta we gotta go to the gas station.
SPEAKER_07All right, let's set up our mic stand and the podmobile.
SPEAKER_03There we go. Nice. Um, so how you doing? Let's check in. How you doing? Is it is it is it health check? Uh yeah. Time for health check? Definitely health check time.
SPEAKER_07Health check. Well, I was gonna ask you, you beat me to it, but I was gonna ask you because you said you were kind of a uh you couldn't hear me good or something the other day.
SPEAKER_03I still can't. You you're you're having uh like wax in your ears? Well, I mean, I certainly do have wax in my ears, although I I'm pretty certain that's not what's causing this. Although it certainly doesn't help. I don't think it's due to wax buildup. I could be wrong about that. Because your head is stuffy. Uh yeah, it feels like I would describe like an allergy, although that's just that's a self-diagnosis. It might not really be allergies. Yeah. But this happened a few months ago, same exact thing. And for like a few days, I just like it just felt like I was, you know, going like this, you know. It just feels or you're like you're underwater. Like that's how everything sounds. Everything sounds really far away and quiet, and it's just weird, but I don't know. Before it went away, so I think it's gonna go away at home.
SPEAKER_07Well, the allergy thing does make a lot of sense because there's so many things blooming. Right, it is allergy season, would you say? It's allergy season, even and but it's so dry as well that it makes the whole it it changes the whole dynamic somehow. Yeah, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. These wildfires. These wildfires, wildfires. It's well known that in in the sunshine state of Florida.
SPEAKER_07See, I almost got stuck coming in because I started I did that. I stopped, I was like, I stopped to look at something right out here in the in the Y of the road. You almost got stuck. And I stopped my and I was like, oh shit. And I was like, I really had to gun it. Yeah, but you know what? You you don't have to drive on a dirt road because you're uh you're a real Florida man, so you know how about dirt roads. Right, but I wasn't paying attention. I wasn't out and the other thing is I'm almost out of gas. So I've tried to be real. I've been out of gas for two days, and I'm like, oh, it keeps telling me like low on fuel. Uh uh anyway, that's true.
SPEAKER_03You are the red. You're like kind of like past the red act.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Okay, here we go.
SPEAKER_03This is where I got stuck.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, this is the this is the softest part. But it's the funnest. See, I yeah, that was that's cool. I like that part. Yeah, that's funny. Um, I'm sorry, I interrupted you because um Well I was done. I talked my ears are clogged up. Yeah, but and it could be uh and it could be allergies. Yeah, who knows? I mean it doesn't matter. Okay, so I was gonna say like the allergies affect your uh your spot system, your uh immune system, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, so I mean this is it could be an immune system response that you're having. Okay, sure. You know?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it probably it probably is.
SPEAKER_07Natural spot. Well at least you don't have to call in stick, right?
SPEAKER_03It's not that it's good. It's good because I don't have to listen to that, you know. I can just pretend like I'm there by myself, you know, real real real calm that way. Less crowded, less critical.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But yeah, yeah, work is fine. I just can't I feel great otherwise. I just can't hear anything.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Well, I um I'm coming back online, you know?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Well, I've been seeing you around work more, so that's and that's obviously very uh, you know Encouraging. Encouraging, yeah. Encouraging. That's the word. What are you looking for? Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Um yeah, I'm coming back online, and so it's not just smooth sailing, yeah, you know, right, but it's also um going pretty good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, you're e but you say that you're easing back into it. No, you're doing the opposite of that.
SPEAKER_07I kind of I I kind of eased back into it in the beginning, and then I think yesterday, maybe the day before, uh, I hit full like I just hit full speed. Oh, great. And I love that. But I should but I'm doing too much. That's the thing. Like, right. I'm doing too much. You're always doing too much, even before you uh not when I was convalescent. Well before, yeah. I don't want to go back to that.
SPEAKER_03That's the thing. I don't want to go back to that. I love to hear that. You uh you deserve it. You deserve some uh some rest, the relaxation time.
SPEAKER_07Well, I think it's more about balance, you know. Not work till you know the sun goes down, but you know, maybe knock off at 5 30. I mean if I wonder if I'm in the middle of some, maybe it's six. Right, you can knock off.
SPEAKER_03Uh so what what are we doing next? Well, uh restaurant restaurant review section.
SPEAKER_07Restaurant interview. Did you go in restaurants this week? No.
SPEAKER_03I didn't know. I went to the restaurant. Oh, where'd you go?
SPEAKER_07I'm trying to think. I know I went to some restaurant because I'm always going to some restaurants. Um, I remember. Jalisco Town. Jalisco Town? Jalisco Town. I never even heard of it. It's a Mexican restaurant. Well, it better be with the name like Jalisco Town. Jalisco Town. And it's um, there's actually a new coffee shop out there called Resident. Okay. You know about Resident? Oh. Yeah, see, you gotta be like, I don't know, middle-aged woman, you know, like um, these are over there across from five guys in the millhopper part of town. Oh, so by like uh fresh park. Well, across from that is this thing, there's a gaming store in there. And there's uh the resident, and there's the Jalisco town. And so it's it's behind California in Thornbrook village? No, no, on the other side of of um of 4030 or something. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Sorry, bad description. Yeah, I know.
SPEAKER_07Across, I call it Thornbrook area. I'm just trying to get you dot into what five guys I'm talking about, whatever. Yeah, I got it. I got it. Anyway, Jalisco Town is um Mexican food. So what's the review? It's delicious. I love it. I've been there twice now. Okay, and I really like it. All right, sign me up. Um Caroline got the burrilla tacos. Okay. I got the I got the uh enchilada burrito.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_07I love it. I said that and she didn't know. She said, You want the enchiladas? And I'm like, the enchilada burrito? And then I showed her, it was like the first thing on this one section. Right. They enchilada. And she's like, oh, I guess nobody's ever ordered that. I'm like, are you kidding me? It's got the no, it's called fajita burrito. It's fajita burrito, not it's it's a fajita burrito, so that's the best of both worlds. You get the fajita wrapped up with the burrito. Right. And you get two of them, two burritos. Oh, I like that. And their rice was good, their beans and rice was really good. Uh it seems kind of like a little bit of upscale Mexican.
SPEAKER_03Well, I'm I'm an upscale kind of a guy, so all right. Well, you take your old lady there. I will.
SPEAKER_07I will. Um, so yeah, restaurant section. Well, we uh it's number one podcast for people. Right. We're a couple guys, we get together and we do stuff, yeah. And um, and we don't talk about politics and we don't have ads, and uh all of our all of our um audio is very cutting edge, wouldn't you say? Yep. And this is season eight. Oh yeah, right. Which is uh loosey goosey. We just how do I get to that gas station? Uh uh I guess I gotta go on straight. I can't get it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, just take just take the left on like the next left. Yeah. And then you can come back around. Or you could just go to go to Wawa. Yeah, yeah, go to Wawa. If I can make it, I think I'll make it. You can make it to Wallace. Oh yeah. Yeah. You're not gonna make it to Bucky's. I'm not. Yeah. Because Bucky's isn't like St. Augustine, you wouldn't make it there. Yeah. I'm gonna take a picture of your uh fuel gauge. It could be worse. It's been worse. Oh my gosh, there's traffic.
SPEAKER_07Um so yeah, we're we we're we're going into the traffic, but uh so season eight. I don't know what episode it is. I have no idea. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_03One last count, yeah.
SPEAKER_07No, no, no, no, it's season eight. Episode is season seven was the Babcock fan reunion, right? Oh, that's right. Season eight.
SPEAKER_03Um is episode what? What would you say? 20, 27. 12. Episode 12? Yeah. Yeah, maybe it is, but probably closer to 47.
SPEAKER_07Uh anyway, welcome to the new listeners. Uh, thanks for tuning in this long. It's usually a lot better than this.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, welcome to the old listeners.
SPEAKER_07Yep, yep. Thanks for listening back in. I think that there used to be people that would like get looked for podcast drops on Tuesdays. Yeah. And they don't do that anymore. Right. Because they don't do many podcast drops on Tuesdays. No, not anymore. I don't think there's anymore. I think nowadays it's Thursdays. Wednesday mornings at work have been kind of weird.
SPEAKER_03But oh well. They're starting a podcast that we listen to. That's okay. I got another one.
SPEAKER_07So, but now I think people are excited about Thursdays. Right. That's yeah.
SPEAKER_03And sometime Wednesdays. Yeah, well, yeah. Depends. Because it's loosey goosey. We could do it Tuesday, or I mean I meant Thursday, we could do it Wednesday. We could do it Tuesday. We can do it Tuesday, yeah. We can do it Sunday. We we did it Monday recently. We did it on Monday. On a Monday? We can we can do it on Monday.
SPEAKER_07So season eight is called No Rules.
SPEAKER_03Just right. Just right. Just right. Is that where we're going on this adventure outback steakhouse?
SPEAKER_07Okay, we need to explain to the listeners that we are just now sitting in traffic for like the longest, just trying to get to the closest gas station from my house.
SPEAKER_03You can make a new turn if this car pulls up eventually.
SPEAKER_07I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go to Wawa, right there. It's gonna be easy. There's gonna be plenty of room. Pay at the pump.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Um, I think that one doesn't have that. I don't think so either. Is that is that the last gas station is that the only gas station in the United States? It's in the content. That's what they do in the poor parts of town. That doesn't have you to go in and pay. To pay at the pump with your credit card. Because when I I'm old, right? I'm 47. When I I remember they had that technology when I was like 17. So that's uh they've had it for at least that long. We're in the wrong lane. Whatever 47 minus 17 is. Look at the problem here. Yeah, well, I think it's because they got this uh uh construction up. Maybe not yeah, I don't know. That's that's very odd that it's so backed up. It doesn't seem like there's any good reason for that.
SPEAKER_07Did you notice that they just extended the left turn lane to 23rd where we go to work every day?
SPEAKER_03Did I notice that the dream come true? Are you kidding me? Did I notice? Did you notice? But at six in the morning, it doesn't matter. Well, it certainly matters.
SPEAKER_07When you're going to do the purpose project or the renovated use or anywhere on 23rd.
SPEAKER_03That wasn't that kind of like out of the blue? Yeah. Like overnight? Is that what you were gonna say? Yeah, totally. And it was like unacceptable that it was even like that in the first place.
SPEAKER_07Well, that one there is unacceptable because that's university and Waldo. Right. Right? And they've got room for three cars to turn left. Yeah, it's unacceptable. But the one, the one on 23rd, man, they just they might fix this one because they got some stuff going on.
SPEAKER_03This this is the number one podcast for North Central Florida traffic patterns. That's right. If you want to talk about traffic patterns in northeast Gainesville and Southeast Gainesville, you've come to the right place. Okay, here's the game I play.
SPEAKER_07Are you ready?
SPEAKER_03What's the game you play?
SPEAKER_07You guess how the gallons to the point three. To the point three. What do you mean to the point three? It's about a 16-gallon tank. So you can see I'm gonna say it might be up to 18. I'm gonna say 17.133.
SPEAKER_03And you said it's a 16-gallon tank?
SPEAKER_07I I usually it's it's it's let's say it's an 18-gallon tank. Okay. Right? But they're gonna show you empty at between 16 and 17. That's just how you a lot of times how they do it, right? And I mean I'm guessing, because I I always thought it was 16, and then one time I put it in it was 18 or over 17, I thought maybe it's an 18-gallon tank. So what's your guess?
SPEAKER_0316.133. 16.133? Yeah. I'm gonna say uh 17.6667.
SPEAKER_07No, no, no, no, no. It's only three numbers. 17.666.
SPEAKER_03You want to do 666? 17.666, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Can you remember 1766 and I got 1613? All right, I got it. Okay, I'm I'm gonna stick my head back in here and we're gonna continue podcasting.
SPEAKER_03All right. All right, so Gator's getting gas. I'm right here, actually. All right, he's paying at the pump, which is right here.
SPEAKER_07Oh so anyway, this is this is the thing that's so sad, Sliceberg. That your your good friend Gator has picked you up. And he and we're gonna run errands and try to, and I'm gonna pretend that we're having fun.
SPEAKER_03Well, it could be fun, depending on what the errands are. Some errands are fun, some errands are decidedly uh less fun. Like when we uh submitted our passport paperwork at the uh county courthouse last week. That was not a fun errand. One that's one specific example that comes to mind right now. Uh going to the post office in Gainesville is typically the least fun of errands. Uh I'm just talking about errands in general. Like errands. Some are fun, some are not.
SPEAKER_07Well, look, any errand is more fun when you're with a friend. True.
SPEAKER_03Because we're just a couple of guys hanging out.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I mean, like, I needed to do these errands, but here's the here's the here's what happened to me. I had to run these errands. You you just whenever it shuts off is when you do it. That's how it goes.
SPEAKER_06And actually, it's been shutting off really early lately. Like, I have to like factor that interior guessing. No, I forgot about that. Well, it's too late now.
SPEAKER_07Anyway, let's just see what happens. It's probably gonna show off at like eight. Right, it's at 4.7 right now. Um so I was frustrated because I got I'm trying to get a lot of stuff done this weekend. Right. Is my 40-year high school reunion in St. Augustine, Florida. Okay. And I got roped into going to it. Oh my gosh. Uh Caroline is not going. Oh my gosh. I'm going with a couple buddies from work from school from high school.
SPEAKER_03From high schools, they're your buddies, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. And their wives aren't going.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, it's gonna be fun. Let's go going.
SPEAKER_07And so, um, none of us really want to go to the reunion. Yeah, I wouldn't want to go to mine. But and Caroline definitely doesn't want to go. And so, um, but I got roped into it. That's a whole nother story. Anyway, so I'm but then the I they asked me to do the t-shirts, which is a whole nother story, because then they didn't like the t-shirts I did that much. So they didn't want to back out. I said, look, I don't care, you do the t-shirts. That's a good thing. Anyway, so they um, so they well, they I drew the shirts and they were we were they were complaining, and I and then they and then one of the guys like drew one with AI and using like the high school yearbook that I did, the yearbook cover. Okay. I did the yearbook cover in 1986. Right, famous.
SPEAKER_03And we talked about it on this podcast.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, did we?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I remember one time you had it out.
SPEAKER_07Oh, okay. And then uh, so they kind of wanted something to look like a yearbook cover, and then I'd I'd wanted something that looked tough. The yearbook cover was like was like cartooning. Right, it wasn't. It's like I want a tough shirt, right? And so I anyway, I suggest users. I was like, I don't care, like I got so much to do, it doesn't bother me, it's not gonna hurt my feelings. What are we at? 16.9, 17.
SPEAKER_03That's gonna stop right at 17.6.
SPEAKER_07Um I always said I'd give somebody a hundred dollars if it ever they ever get.
SPEAKER_03I got close. Oh, okay. It turned out 18.188. And it overflowed. And it overflowed, of course it did. 18-gallon tank. 18-gallon tank. So yeah, uh Gator was running on fumes there, it looks like. So it was empty, running on fumes.
SPEAKER_04Oh, it had it had fumes in a prayer.
SPEAKER_06Oh, 18, yeah. It had to be empty, dude. That's an 18-gallon tank.
SPEAKER_07I should put some like fuel cleaner or like engine cleaner in there, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, well, it's it's like high octane stuff, and then when you run your engine, it like kind of cleans up all that junk. Because I just got to people say you're not supposed to get to the bottom of the gas tank like that, you know?
SPEAKER_03Gas is $3.99 a gallon. That's a steel. That's not yeah. That's three to four boots, it's wide open. Not a political podcast. All right, well, except for that, dude.
SPEAKER_07Well, and and and also that's just world news, but we're not really into world news.
SPEAKER_03It's not politics, it's more like geopolitical uh foreign policy.
SPEAKER_07Um all right, so so uh I'm trying so Friday I'm leaving town, so I I said I make the shirt, and then she said, okay, and then she's like, How am I gonna get the shirt? I'm like, I'll just bring it to you whenever you want. They're staying in some hotel in uh in in at the beach in St. Augustine. And um, so then she and then she says, and but I'm getting the shirts printed because I was like, I have a printer, I'll just get them printed and just pay me back or whatever. Sure, yeah, easy, makes it easy. And so she said, uh, I'm just so glad I'm talking about this right now because I'm supposed to pick out those shirts. She asked me they were ready on Monday. Okay, and I forgot. I put it on my list and I forgot. And then yesterday she texts me and she goes, How do the shirts look? What's your and I and I it's not even on our adventure for today of one of the errands we're gonna run, but I think right now we're going straight to get these t-shirts.
SPEAKER_03Where what printer is it? Aesthetic. Aesthetic, okay. Yeah, yeah, that's um that's uh the one by work, right? Yeah, yeah. He uh his kid goes his kids go to school and my kids are in the same group. Okay, okay. Jonathan or Casey? Jonathan. Yeah, yeah. Uh oh, okay, that's cool. And his kids do honesty of the mind. Yeah, his wife is like two of the teams. He's really nice. We know them from honesty of the mind and and just from school, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He's awesome.
SPEAKER_07Well, he he actually is the guy who his company printed the um Wolfs and Wolfpack 1986, 40 year high school reunion t-shirts. Did you know about that? Uh I should have got you one. The wolf pack. That is tough. So the it was a it was a cartoony little wolf, and then but they wanted so then I did this cool looking wolf, and then I put like I had a little space up between his ears. I wrote Jack's FL. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Because that's just tough.
SPEAKER_07Oh, that's so tough. That's so tough. So tough. When you could put Jax FL on a shirt that people are gonna wear, yeah. That's so tough. And then the back was the hard part because I wanted to put something kind of funny, yeah, that would like make everybody laugh, like we're old, you know? Like I uh I I had a couple ideas, they were pretty good. Yeah, and and uh nobody really wanted they I say nobody. There's it's Ann and David Schaefer. Okay. They were a couple in um, it was Ann Watson and David Schaefer, a couple in high school, and now they're still together and they're doing uh reunion. Would you look at that? Would you look at that? And they're making cute little videos about it too. Like they went and checked it all out beforehand. And well, yeah, they're I don't know how many people are going. I the only people that I really you know want to communicate with from high school are the Jim, you know, are people I'm going with. Jim and Charlie, I see them anyway. But it'll be f I don't know. I just think it'll be uh fun. So is Charlie the boy?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Pine nuts.
SPEAKER_07Jimmy is um John Orth's brother. Oh, okay. My age. Okay. And he uh is the president or CEO of River Keeper in in Jacksonville, which is the St. John's River like protection agency. Okay, John Orth's brother. Yeah, John. Jimmy. Okay. And uh he's been doing that job like for as long as I can remember. Uh-huh. You know, probably longer than my been doing my job, you know? Like, I always love that kind of like dedication. You know, when somebody works at a place, like you see these people, they've been at they've been at um Waffle House for 32 years, or they've been at the Krispy Kreme for 25 years. Yeah, it's you're like, I love that. Like it's it's it says so much about the person that they're just like right, you know, still at it. Yeah, the dedication. Yeah. So we are slow rolling through town right now. Yeah. Like this is weird. What's going on? It's like it's the wildfire.
SPEAKER_03I think the wildfires maybe are affecting people's psyche or something.
SPEAKER_07It you know, it feels like that we're behind um a funeral. Right. Right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's like it's not a literal funeral, it's like a funeral, like a traffic funeral. Right.
SPEAKER_07Well, and that's really the problem with running errands, isn't it? You it's traffic. Because when like every spot we get to, uh, you know, is gonna be an experience in its own right. Yeah, you know? Oh, I got something for you. This exciting thing. We're gonna get to the mail. We always get right to the mail. Today's no different, but we're gonna wait until one of our stops. And we're still in our introduction phase. Um, I've got these meta glasses that I made a movie with, and now I want to use them on our um on our podcast today. So I'm thinking like we can use some footage from the meta glasses. Yeah, from some of our um stops. Like I'll wear them one time, you wear them one time, and then we'll put together a little reel or whatever. Right.
SPEAKER_03Do we have to disclose to the people that we're fighting up? I feel like that's good etiquette, right?
SPEAKER_07Yes. And so we um but and we also we we don't have to disclose anybody if we're just looking around at somebody's yard. Right. If you you mean if it's out in public. Yeah. Well, but just according to where we're at. Yeah. If we're out in the field, it wouldn't matter. Uh-huh. But what do you mean in a field? No. In the field? Theoretically, if we were out in a field.
SPEAKER_03Oh, in a field.
SPEAKER_07In a field.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Yeah, I can't hear anything.
SPEAKER_07Oh, right, right, right. I forgot. I gotta I'm trying to talk softer. I thought you said the field. I'm trying to talk softer because Carol, first of all, Caroline's always telling me to talk softer in the house, just normal conversation.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Talk too much. Because she's actually having uh experiences where all of her senses are heightened. Right. And so, like noise and light and everything, you know.
SPEAKER_03Makes sense, yeah.
SPEAKER_07And so I'm trying to be respectful of that. So trying to talk softer. And then, but I see myself doing it at work, talking too loud. I'm fixing to go to a damn look at this. Look at this. This is where we can pull off onto the left lane to go to our work. This turning lane. And now the turning lane has been extended, I would say fourfold.
SPEAKER_03It at least. It's like it feels like it's 10 miles long. 400 because the old one was like so uh minuscule.
SPEAKER_07Well, you could get three cars in the old one. If it's three cars, but now, and I don't even I didn't even see them do it. Yeah, they poured that uh media overnight.
unknownMan.
SPEAKER_07I mean, I saw a few like barricades, I didn't know really what was going on, but then it was just like, whoa, that was an improvement. Those old boys are fast. Those old boys are fast. That was an improvement. Big time. So now we're moving. Now, now it looks like things are opening it up. All right, now we're smooth sailing. Now we're on 23rd. We we got off that busy, busy road. All right, now we're going to the screen printing place. Yeah, we called aesthetic. Aesthetic. And Jonathan, nice guy. What what's his wife's name? Karen. Does she work it? I don't think she works it.
SPEAKER_03I don't think so. I think she's a teacher. I don't think I've met her. Yeah, Karen. She's the OM coach. She's awesome.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Yeah, it's nice to keep it local. They're right behind Satzwells, too, so they do the t-shirts.
SPEAKER_03Right behind Statzwells, right behind Repurpose Project. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Use your guide. Your t-shirt guide.
SPEAKER_07So I was giving you those because I want you to put them on. I'm gonna I what maybe when the shirts come out. Okay. Kind of thing. Okay. So we're just telling you, the um listener, that we've got these glasses, these meta glasses, and we are going to um incorporate those into our Instagram channel. And so on on our Instagram, number one podcast for people.com. Um I can't see anything though. Oh, yeah. Because I need my actual glasses. No, you you well, you would have to do you don't Do I have to connect them to my no no no let me tell you you you don't use them until you're ready to film. Okay, and then you pick them up. Okay, you press hard press, don't do it right now. Hard pressure. Hard press right here on that button. Yeah, like two seconds on the right side, and a light will come on in your vision on the right. Uh-huh. And a light will come on for me on this side. Okay. And then you're filming. And when you go up and you press again, you you shut it off. If you hard press. Just once at once.
SPEAKER_03But uh, how does it know? Is it saved to your phone or something?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, so I'm all hooked up. It's hooked up. Okay. So it'll it'll all save to my phone. Now, now it's because of space on my phone and just general and whatever, like I'm always trying, and you're pretty good about this too. You're just trying to film what you're gonna use. Yeah. You know what I mean? Start to finish? Right. Without like so I'm not editing it later. Right.
SPEAKER_03You don't want three minute clean that we're cutting down to a minimum, yeah. Yeah. I understand. So I'm gonna put them on like when the shirts come out.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah, that's fine. I'm just telling you, because then we'll during the day we'll try different. Okay. Yeah, this is fun. It's a fun little uh Aaron. Adventure, adventure. I don't think we have to tell people when we're recording tonight, do we? Uh yeah. Yeah, you do, obviously. Well, I don't want to tell them we're recording our podcast. I'm gonna leave it out here. Okay, we're gonna leave it out here. I would normally just walk through with it and just be like, what's up?
SPEAKER_01Hey y'all.
SPEAKER_00Hey guys, how are you?
unknownAll right, see if any likes of the market.
SPEAKER_07See, I I was we're making we make a podcast, we make a podcast and we're making our podcast while we're running errands. Yeah, and we don't edit it, we just run, do stuff, whatever we're doing. Yeah, but then I was coming in here and I said, We've got we can just we can just walk in and get these shirts, right? And walk out without telling them all that we're recording them. And he said, No, you can't do that. So I said, Because I didn't want to walk in and say, hey, we're doing a podcast.
SPEAKER_10What was that? If you're recording somebody, yeah, I think there's something there.
SPEAKER_07I would think he's on your inside. All right, just see my lawyer. Just see my lawyer.
SPEAKER_10Oh yeah!
SPEAKER_04Oh no, totally.
SPEAKER_07No, these are going to not give myself a wagon for enjoying and it's the actual direct way. And I can have like a big sale on it and like give people a deal.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, everybody out of there. I figured it was if there was ever a case where everybody could win. Because also it used to exist in that format.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, and it and I I like to switch stuff up. I mean, yeah, I want every print to be a little different in some way, but I don't have time anymore to do that.
SPEAKER_10You know, Jason Rockdown used to ask me to do that too with stuff, and I was like, huh.
SPEAKER_07Well, you have to change the film and you have to pay for the new you know, it's like it's a lot of time and energy, sure, and it's fine if I want to do it, and then you say, Yeah, here's what it costs.
SPEAKER_10But and it's one thing too, if it's a dude in his garage that's like baked, and they're just like, oh, put a little swirl in this ink, and you know, but it's like how do we convey that on a grand scheme? Yeah, right. Like same with you and some.
SPEAKER_07Well, like this one, right? Yeah, this one says 2021. They don't say that anymore. Casey designed them to say since 2003. Yeah. I didn't, I'm not, I've never been crazy about the sense or the established, sure. But then when you get to be 20 years old, it seems to make more sense. Of course. And then I was like, I don't want to change these every year or keep them always saying 2021, because my idea was every year I'd print them with a new year. But then you're changing, it's just like how did these companies get away with the craziest ones?
SPEAKER_10Like they'll say, like, since 1689, and you're like, okay, you just made that up.
SPEAKER_03That's fucking uh uh Zildjian symbols, right? They say, yeah, and I I see that every time and I'm like, since 1511? What the fuck are you talking about? Like in what format? Right, yeah. I'm like, I'm like, obviously, not since it really does say like 15.
SPEAKER_10I listened to a podcast about Nintendo and it has existed in as the company since like mid to late 1800s.
SPEAKER_03Nintendo?
SPEAKER_10But it was a very different thing, right?
SPEAKER_03It wasn't like Super Mario Brothers.
SPEAKER_10Obviously, it was like a plumbing company, it was some blue-collar thing that then turned into now he's got the glasses on.
SPEAKER_03But they're not filming.
SPEAKER_07We we got the meta glasses out because he's gonna film these shirts. Okay, because I did I do think now I would be different if I was walking in filming. I would say, hey, I have a camera on, or is that okay? And I wouldn't even do that unless I was telling somebody that I'm filming them, you know. Yeah.
SPEAKER_10But I I anyway. Yeah, you're safe here.
SPEAKER_07I I used them for a project where I didn't film people at all. I was just filming, you know, activity. And so the project's over, so I was like, well, let's uh that's what you guys are up to today. No, we're running here. I gotta I gotta I gotta pick up these shirts. I gotta your secret stuff he doesn't even know yet.
SPEAKER_03It's all business. We're all business, right?
SPEAKER_07Uh no, it's not all business.
SPEAKER_10Some business, some fun. We built a recording studio over here. If the guy was here, I'd show it to you. It's cool. Turned out really nicely. It's the whole thing. It was pottery, was it? Yeah, and then it was shirt storage, and now it was a friend of mine moved here from Miami that we used to record with in Miami. Um and so he wanted to move a studio up here, and I was like, I've got a spot. Let's do this. And where's the pottery studio? They're over by um by that old uh Bank of America building kind of that's now a um main. Yes, but that road that runs the parallel domain behind me, which is probably like my first or first. I don't know. Yeah. Um they're along there. Okay. There's a church back there, and they had a it's massive, they're pottery studio. I don't know how. I was just like, shit, that'd be like a I could I was just like, how does this economy work? Like, I don't know, you know, you got a 7,000 square foot pottery building, that's pretty new.
SPEAKER_07It's hard to hold it hold on to a lot of pottery. That's breakable.
SPEAKER_10But I think uh Sarah is the woman who runs it, and I think she does a good job.
SPEAKER_07So thanks. You guys have fun. Yep, see you jumping.
SPEAKER_10Are you guys going to do it? Uh Sarah's going. Okay. Yeah. I mean, not have to. It's a cool thing. Like, but it is a thing.
SPEAKER_03No, we uh uh Thanksgiving's team obviously isn't going to Sarah's gonna take Georgia.
SPEAKER_10Okay, so I missed the I went there for the ceremony, so I didn't have two on the way. Yeah. But I mean it's a cool, like you guys went last year, right? We went last year. I mean, that was East Lansing, which was at least I mean, for me a neat place. Like there's some right houses around there, and like a bunch of cool stuff. But I don't know about the middle of Iowa. Elliot wanted to go because he wanted to see where Buddy Holly crashed. It's about an hour from there.
SPEAKER_03Oh, okay. That's uh obviously an important piece of uh history.
SPEAKER_10Yes, yeah. Alright, we'll take it.
SPEAKER_03See ya. See you ma'am. Alright, I'm gonna film these uh Okay. Yeah, I mean Is it on Long Cress?
SPEAKER_07Oh wait, it takes a minute. When you put them on you put them on, it takes a minute to connect to my phone, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_05But yeah, I feel like you see a light in the right, upper right of your okay? It's not that long. I still don't see it. Okay, try it again, long press. Okay. There it is. Okay, it's okay. Alright, so here we go. Wolfpack. Jack Ford. It doesn't say wolf pack. Well, but on the back. On the back it does. The pack. The pack is back. Nice. It says wolf's. See?
SPEAKER_07Wolfson. Wolf. Wolfson is the high school. It's tough.
SPEAKER_06Think about Wolfton High School.
SPEAKER_07Wolf's school. But I'm like, well, the high school is implied.
SPEAKER_03That's tough. Did you draw that wolf? Yeah. Of course you did, yeah. Of course you did.
SPEAKER_07Draw the whole thing. Yeah, the pack is back. So we we had a conversation about that. That is tough. These were some misprints. Okay. Pretty good though, huh? Yeah, look good to me. Yeah, well. Let's go. We got places to go. I didn't know this stuff was gonna be this long.
SPEAKER_04I thought it was gonna be picking up shirts, man.
SPEAKER_03Alright, I'm gonna stop filming now.
SPEAKER_04Oh, that was really long. I was thinking, I was thinking like you were gonna do like 10 seconds.
SPEAKER_03Well, you know, you you you know, you that's the way Gainesville is. Very small. You uh you see you run into people you know everywhere, and you know, next thing you know, it's like, oh hey, uh, you know, how's it going?
SPEAKER_07You gotta catch up. Oh, I meant the filming, the the the filming for 10 seconds. And oh you you okay, I'm going to turn it off now. Oh, whatever.
SPEAKER_03But that's cool. But how long was it on for? It wasn't on that long, but uh well, it doesn't matter. Whatever. It was gonna be our story. I still have to get used to it.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Um yeah, I think that's the most I've ever talked to him. It's usually like here's your shirts and I'm gone. Yeah, but it was you. You came in and they're like, oh, what y'all doing? Right.
SPEAKER_03He's like, oh hey, let's talk about our kids. Well, whatever.
SPEAKER_07Uh so we're back on the road and there's no traffic this time. Alright, so I'm I'm dying of curiosity. Where are we going? Right now, I see. I hate to even tell you. Okay, it does get better, okay? It gets better after this next stop. It's gonna get a little bit better. I'll keep that in mind.
SPEAKER_01I'm starting to feel so bad.
SPEAKER_07Um, we're going to Lodes right now. Okay. I have to get some paint because uh there's a woman named Sabrina who's painting my house. Uh-huh. And she uh is running out of colors. She's almost done.
SPEAKER_06She's so such a good painter. She's so fast. And like that second story we have, I am never getting on.
SPEAKER_07She's painting the exterior over here. Yeah, the exterior. And like she gets up so high, she just throws a ladder up 30-foot ladder and just runs to the top. She's like I love that petite. And her and her lines are just like so tight. Nice. So anyway, I gotta get some paint. And um, but that's not the main reason I was leaving the house. Not the t-shirts and not loads. Those are all backup errands that came around. Those are like the pre-errands. Yeah, those are the pre-errands before you get to the real errands. Got it. All right. Yeah. Which I can't reveal because it's number one, not that great. And number two, I don't want to hype it up. Uh it'll be funner than it sounds. That's let's put it that way. Okay, all right, all right. I'll uh I'll take your word for it. Uh but I don't think we're probably I don't know that it's gonna be there's gonna be a good I don't know what the good time is gonna be to get to our mailbag. I kind of think we need to just go ahead and see what if we got any uh I think we do it, always do it first, right? We do it first because we might as well get to it now. Because this is first the introduction's done. Unless we want to play a tune first. Maybe that's the that's when the introduction's done is when we play the opening um song. Right. That's how that's how you know. That's how you know that it's time for the mail. Uh, here we go. Let's do that one. Which one? Let's do that one that's real experimental. Experimental piece. Real experimental, but also really melon.
SPEAKER_03Exper mell mellowly experimental. All right, I got it. Here we go.
SPEAKER_02Let me open the email program.
SPEAKER_07I certainly it would be nice if we were having, you know, out there in a picnic somewhere on this, but hey, I didn't I didn't plan it right. That would be nice.
SPEAKER_03That was a good that was a a very pleasant uh picnic experience in that park that nobody knows about except for Caroline.
SPEAKER_07And do you know and do you know what else I've been pining to do? Go back to um Gombies and get chicken wings. Oh yeah, now we're talking. That's next week. Um so email program.
SPEAKER_03Alright, here we go. Email program is open. I'm scroll. Alright, alright, here we go. We got an email from Satchel with a link to an article in the prestigious Alatua Chronicle, which is a very um uh well-respected um source of news and uh serious reportage.
SPEAKER_07Mostly uh reporting about the uh crime scene. Right. So it's like this is the crime blotters segment of the show. Well, that's isn't that all that they report of the Elector Chronicle?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I don't know, probably. I thought that was their whole thing. Yeah, you're probably right. All right, so here we go. Gainsville man arrested on drug and firearm charges after posting pictures of stolen gun on Facebook.
SPEAKER_07Okay, that was a really interesting story that I think we've probably just skipped, but it it the the amount of detail that the Chronicle puts in their reporting when they talk about a story, they really like a level of detail that's unmatched. I mean, is is the detail coming from the like do you think it's coming from the police report? Like they're basically reading their police report, probably, yeah. And that's the crime reporting? Pretty much, yeah. Because I mean that story, I mean, I'm I almost feel like that's a story you could tell while you were going to Lowe's. It's that exciting, it's that blockbuster. You could spend the whole time at Lowe's just doing that one story. How much more mail we got? Um it's pretty exciting, actually.
SPEAKER_03Alright, so we got what from Satchel, we got another one from Satchel, we got another one from Satchel. We got one from oh, we got one from Eddie. Oh, good. Oh, thank goodness. I got one. We we got one from Eddie. Let's go. We got one another one from Satchel, and we got one from Emmy Lou.
SPEAKER_07Okay, well, let's skip Satchel if we have time. Let's go, let's start with Eddie.
SPEAKER_03Start with Eddie, because this is we haven't heard from Eddie in a while, but um uh but here we go. This I love the subject of this email. It's a person in her own right. A person in her own right. Uh and then he says, I thought this was a good example of why Sliceberg has a good habit in saying his wife is a person in her own right. And it's the uh okay, so he sends a screenshot of uh what is that? Is that Twitter? It looks like Twitter, right? Uh whatever. Yeah, yeah, some social media. Right? And it says, um It says, wife of LA Clippers owner, Steve Ballmer, steps in to save MPR's future with $80 million gift. And then the and then the uh caption says, wife of LA Clippers owner and billionaire, Steve Ballmer, steps in to save MPR with $80 million. And then the signature, and then it goes, the signature on the line of the check just says wife? Yes, I am wife. Take wife's money for radio. So yeah. Um and I always thought that was funny because it would say like, it would say like uh uh president and Mrs. Ronald Reagan. You know what I mean? Like they wouldn't ever say the woman's name. Uh-huh. Right. I think that's what it's kind of like referring to. Like it would be like Mrs. Ronald Reagan. They wouldn't say Nancy Reagan. Now I don't know why I'm using the Reagans as an example. You could probably use any person, but that's just kind of like what can't what are you looking for?
SPEAKER_07I'm supposed to have this paint lid. So I this was my this is my trash um in the car. It's not in it's not in there. It's your trash. This is my trash bag, and I don't know how to do trash in the truck very well. This we're gonna use in a minute. This is is I mean, it's a round, it's a gallon paint. Well, I hope not. Darn it. Let me look behind the I I was carrying it with me for so long. No, I know I remember carrying it around for so long so that I didn't forget it. Right. And I was like, I'm not gonna set this down. And guess what? You set it down. I set it down. Uh it's okay. I got I can get other stuff.
SPEAKER_03You're gonna have to come back.
SPEAKER_07I I come back every day now. Coming back. I'm sick of coming back. Yeah, this is this is probably you can't. I don't want to bring my recorder. I locked my door though. Oh. This is I didn't I don't lock mine, but I guess I should, or at least grab those glasses.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, see, that's what I'm saying. Someone can steal your Metagon.
SPEAKER_07I know. I usually just put them in my pocket. You think someone's gonna steal my recorder though? You think somebody's gonna steal my water bottle?
SPEAKER_03You know you left your keys in the ignition.
SPEAKER_07It's fine. Yeah, you're probably right.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that makes me so mad. Oh what would you do if you theoretically you come out, and not even when you just like leave your keys in the ignition, like you just did, but it you know, like let's say you come out and your car's gonna do you call the police? Is that what you do? I don't know. They're gonna say, yeah, your car's gone. And you say, Yeah, I know. That's that's why I called you. You know, but they they're not gonna look for it, you know? They're not gonna do anything.
SPEAKER_07Well, I could give them the tag number.
SPEAKER_03Um they so like all APB, like like be on the lookout, all units be on the lookout for so you think somebody could just steal my car and get away with it right now? Kind of, right?
SPEAKER_07I mean, they know how to drive a stick shift.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, true. That's the ultimate theft deterrent. What about the club? Remember the club? Yeah. I feel like that was funny because it in the in the late. I was like, you know, that's what you're handed into.
SPEAKER_07Well, that's what I was trying to decide by looking at this. Like, do I need how much stuff do I have? I need a gallon of paint, which I would get the buggy just for that. Except I didn't, yeah, if I didn't have that lid. All right, we're gonna let that go. And we're gonna go over here and we're gonna order one quart of paint instead of a quart and a gallon.
SPEAKER_09I'm blind of one quart.
SPEAKER_07One quart. I need a quart of this paint right here in a um semi-gloss. Okay. Um, and it's called high tea. It's a Sherwin Williams color color. Sherwin Williams, do they have the worst ever logo? I don't know. What did you say?
SPEAKER_09I don't think I try an apparent. Okay.
SPEAKER_05Okay, yeah. What is their logo? The TV? What is that? You're telling me you don't know what the Sherwin Williams logo is? That's high T.
SPEAKER_07Oh. Uh give it to me in flat. Or flat or or satin or eggshell or satin. The lightest, lightest sheen possible.
SPEAKER_09And it was in Evelast? Yeah. Okay, Evelast. Um highest or lowest. Sorry.
SPEAKER_07I wanted the lowest sheen possible that you have in stock.
SPEAKER_09I got it.
SPEAKER_07Okay. And now we need minimal spirits. What were you about to say? I was gonna uh show you a picture of the sure when we use one of the four.
SPEAKER_09Actually, apparently I don't have courts of my high-end stuff. Uh how a jet job now.
SPEAKER_07Do you have a cord in another in in another brand? I like Valspar.
SPEAKER_09Wait, wait, eggolaps, right? Yeah. Oh, we don't have flat. Why don't we have flat cords? What kind of this is intentional? I don't know. I have flat and Duramax.
SPEAKER_07That's fine. Do Duramax. That's fine. That's fine. Um can you remember? Oh, you were gonna talk about the Sharon Williams logo.
SPEAKER_03See, all the logos on this paint, they don't have it, but the one on 23rd Av, like right by work. Yeah, look at the size. Is it an S and a W? No, it's it's a it's a picture of the earth with red paint. Uh like like dripping down onto it. It says cover the earth.
SPEAKER_07I didn't know that was their logo. I thought it was just like an advertisement. Cover the earth and paint. Oh god.
SPEAKER_03But see, with like their fancy paint here at Logs, they did a rebranding. Uh huh. Yeah, yeah. But that's like where the contractors go to get it. So they got the old logo there. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sure that was a conscious decision, right? Like all the, you know, uh oh yeah, this is the case.
SPEAKER_07Well, they they want to they want to cover the they want to cover the earth and paint. Think of how much money they'll make. They put a picture of it on their logo. That's pretty bad. I have seen that and I thought it just didn't strike me. I just like I don't know. I just I didn't, I wasn't like mineral spirits? I know. We've somehow missed it. No. No. No. Somehow I'm I mean, I I come here all the time. Yeah, you should you should knew of all people. But I don't I don't buy that many, I don't buy mineral spirits that often. Hey, where are your mineral spirits?
SPEAKER_09I don't buy that.
SPEAKER_07Oh, that's what happened. Okay. I remembered. I can't believe we're doing this on the podcast. All this mug in there running. Here's the thing. I remember now they have that little extra aisle over there with like extra paint on it. Glue. Glue and mineral.
SPEAKER_03Okay, it's a glue with the solvents with the solvents. Yeah. Anyway, maybe I should buy an oven that has a light that you could turn on. I'm gonna go shop the oven while you're looking at the mineral spirits.
SPEAKER_07Oh, here we go. I'm not just looking at them, I'm just picking one up. Okay, here we go.
SPEAKER_04You got mineral spirits.
SPEAKER_03You want paint thinner? You don't want odorless mineral spirits? Okay, that's fine. That's that's that's horse shit. It's not odor. Come on, odorless realm. Okay, or odorless.
SPEAKER_07Um uh you know Jen Garrity has been making making doing like projects.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I saw a picture on Instagram.
SPEAKER_07And a lot of times she's um doing the pennies right and grouting and stuff, right? She doesn't um she she do she just puts her knees right on the on the concrete.
SPEAKER_09Come on, Jim.
SPEAKER_07And she's saying something about her knees hurting, she's you know come on, Jim. Uh and I'm like, I'll get you some knee pads. So that's what I'm looking for.
SPEAKER_03Like some contractor grade.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but she's probably not getting knees this big. Are these knee pads? No. Is this that knee pad?
SPEAKER_03Oh, there you go.
SPEAKER_07Hold this one here.
SPEAKER_03I think they're down there. Here's the or like this one here, maybe. Safety, yeah. Nice safety equipment. We're buying safety equipment. We're buying um mineral spirits. This is um yeah, this is uh this is some good um errand running right here.
SPEAKER_07It's it's not, it's terrible. I feel bad, but um the thing that makes me the like it's not that I needed to whatever. I'm gonna next I'm gonna come over here tonight for work, right? And I'll just come back over here and get some paint made.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Ain't no big thing. Yeah, I mean that I mean and this wasn't the main reason I was coming out anyway.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_03I'm glad I got the shirts, though. We still haven't even like we're still on like pre-errand number two. Or no, actually three. Because you got gas, that's one pre-errand.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah, this is number three. Good timing, good timing, thank you.
SPEAKER_00All right, keep it okay.
SPEAKER_05Um, we need a paintbrush, and then we're done. Give her here. Huh? All right, so you guys have a great day. Just need a paintbrush.
SPEAKER_07Um, Sabrina is going through that she's doing some oil paint on some trim. I know you like that oil paint.
SPEAKER_03You always did. You're old school like that.
SPEAKER_07Some of it. I like some places, I like the oil. But she was really wanting a two-inch flat. And the once they got is a three-inch flat. There's a two-inch flat and a and a kit. Why are they all angled? Don't they know that sometimes you just need a flat? Where's the flat? I think I'm just gonna have to get her a three-inch flat. And she oh wait, down here. Two uh two inch last angle.
SPEAKER_05Here we go. That's not really nice enough. That's not nice. That's that's crap. Are you buying that crap? Yeah, you're gonna have to buy the uh well, let's buy the kit. Buy the kit. How much is that kit?
SPEAKER_03Buy the whole kit. It's like 20 bucks, $21.
SPEAKER_07Oh no, this one's yeah, this one's project sourced, and that was valve bar. I'll get the valve bar. All right. Um, so yeah, she was going through some brushes. Oh, I need a new brush.
SPEAKER_00All right.
SPEAKER_07And I'm like, yeah, I was like, why don't you just use this brush and then I'll get you a new brush for your next project because she's almost done. Um, yeah, so thank you, by the way. Are you gonna pay or me? Oh different. So I get points. I get points.
SPEAKER_03I don't know what the heck the points are for yet. Nice. But yeah, you gotta um you gotta like hash them in for a plane ticket or something. Well, I gotta lose card. What are you doing over there? I don't know. I just got a text from um Sarah about saying Betsy was feeling sick and she wanted to get picked up from school, but it's like school's over in uh an hour and seven minutes.
SPEAKER_07So we got it, we're well, we're almost done. Let's we head back to the house.
SPEAKER_03But is that is that bad character to tell your kid, oh, you can't make it one hour and seven minutes?
SPEAKER_07No, that's what we would that's what I mean, yeah. At that point Is that what your mom would tell you? Yeah, except if if you're if okay, let's break it down for the people, okay? If you are um the mother, your stay-at-home mother, yeah, the kid calls and a stick, right, and you're at home, you're gonna run get them. Yeah, sure. If you're the stay-at-home father and your kid's dick, you're gonna go get them. Right. But you're doing something, and the quickest we could get there would be about the same time as when you gotta pick her up, right?
SPEAKER_03Exactly. That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_07Like, what time do you pick her up? Three.
SPEAKER_03What time is it now? It's like it's like uh 107 or um yeah, 107. Oh no, no, it's two, it's two. It's two, it's two. Well. Alright. Well, whatever you want to do, we're heading that that guy wait anyway. No, I think Sarah said she could pick her up, but like I still gotta uh oh my gosh, we just got an email from Eleanor. Isn't that funny? During the podcast, we got an email from Eleanor. That's good, that's good. All right, so Eddie. So Eddie, right, so the the the wife of LA Clippers. Oh, that was Eddie, yeah. Right, like, which doesn't even say her name, right? That's the portion. Yeah, yeah. That was good, that was good. I like that. I like that. That was good. Yeah. Uh let's see, let's see, let's see. What do we got? Uh oh yeah, Emmy. Emmy Lou, right? That's the next one, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Uh, no subject. Uh Emmy Lou says, my best friend and I tried to get a conspiracy theory going that Rosemary Kennedy did the JFK and RFK assassinations as revenge for the lobotomy. One that I actually kind of believe is that George H.W. Bush did the JFK assassinations. I'm not really sure we need conspiracy theories anymore. I feel like life on Earth is a conspiracy now. For example, here's an article about Prego pasta sauce pivoting to marketing to making field recordings. Finally, it attaches a field recording from the big birthday batch. Bapcocks don't need pasta sauce surveillance field recordings. And then she sends the uh the field recording. But yeah, I'm gonna I'm following this link, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Uh Prego pivots from budgetary pasta sauce to small microphones that listen to your family's intimate conversations.
SPEAKER_05Huh.
SPEAKER_07Put it in their pasta? We'll have to we'll have to get uh we'll have to give a a book uh article review for next week. Uh I'll go check it out. That's very hot, if that's true. Are we gonna read the whole thing now? Should I read it? I'll just read it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, just read it. Yeah, read it. Okay. Ever sit down at an awkward family dinner and think to yourself, you know what this conversation needs? A device that records all our painful attempts at small talk and the weird noises we make when we eat. That's the bad cocks need that bad. Frego, the company that makes cheap, according to the taste buds of any Globes, overly sweet lost as they answered your prayers. On Monday, the Campbell Soup Owned brand announced a new hockey function device called the Connection Cube, designed for documenting dinner cable exchanges so that they may be preserved for all time. If this lofty mission seems beyond the can of Frango Frago, the device was developed in collaboration with StoryCore, and I'll profit interviewing everyday Americans and preserving these conversations. The device which resembles the live of one of Frango's poster jars seems to be more of a one-off dude than an indicator that Frego is making a serious for a being a tech company. Frago says that the screen free connection keeper has no Wi-Fi or something, doesn't hook up to the cloud, and doesn't hack any AI features. The point, in fact, is that it's supposed to help families disconnect, encouraging everyone to put their phones away during dinner and live in the moment. Everything now is AI, and everyone has their phones at the table. It interrupts the conversation in the flow. We wanted to get rid of that and go back to the basics and have everyone talking to each other. Using the gadget is simple. Just press a button, and the devices, two microphones, begin recording. And you press the button again to make it stop. You can upload your recordings to Story Core's website after manually transferring them to your computer using a cable. And if you opt in, share it with the company, which makes physical copies of its recordings and adds them to its collection in the Library of Commerce. This, if this sounds awesome to you, or if you're some kind of Prego evangelist, you can buy the device which res resales, which which releases next Monday as part of a video game console as branding. Uh wait, I lost my spot. Um for $20, you get, according to a release, one Prego story core connection keeper, Prego meal essentials, including a Prego traditional pasta sauce, and one Prego story core conversation prompt card deck to help spark real dinnertime conversations. You can also get a complimentary USB-C cable for transferring audio files. Well, thank you, Prego. We guess every family deserves a chance to immortalize the barbs traded between the Splurch and Spaghetti. So that's a little weird, but I'm obviously into the idea of where we're gonna we're next up. Oh wait, is this uh this is John in Kerry's house? Yeah. Oh, okay, yeah. I know where we are. Um uh this is a little weird, but obviously to make a a real confusion without a screen, that's I support John.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Oh man. Now our our uh I forgot about the shirts, but um, I'm here to get these uh bags of uh leaves. Do you think we can fit the shirts in the cap? I hope we can. I'm gonna get a picture of the okay. Oh wait.
SPEAKER_03Alright, we're loading these up. Well, let's get the uh GFL won't take those?
SPEAKER_07No, I use these for my yard. Oh, you want bags? I want no, I use the mulch. You want the mulch. I want the mulch. These people just rake up their leaves and they put them out and then and they put them in these bags and they fill them up and it's like pine straw and leaves. Right, you want the mulch. And then you drag it over to your bed and you dump it.
SPEAKER_03Right, and then John's like, hey, heads up, they put it out there and you come and get it.
SPEAKER_07And I got I got 30 of these last year. Already I have 36. Uh-huh. 37, 38, 39. There's like another 13. You're mulching your whole acre with that. Exactly. I'm mulching. But um, let's see, let's go see if let's go see if John's home. Okay. John's got a truck, so I don't know. He might, if it runs. I love that truck. So John uh uh is a painter, friend of mine, friend of yours, um lives lives over here in this nice neighborhood.
SPEAKER_03And he's like life partner Carrie, who is a human being in her own right.
SPEAKER_07In her own right. Do you know who lives there?
SPEAKER_03Uh uh Don Pablo.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah, for real. Yeah, we have some other friends who live across the street. And so uh, oh wait, the glasses were on all that making fun of you. Hi.
SPEAKER_08Hey, how are you? All right, nice to see you, Brian. It's been a long time. Good. How are ya?
SPEAKER_07Okay, I turned it off because it was Carrie and I didn't know that other woman, Julia. Right, right.
SPEAKER_03You didn't want it disclosed to them.
SPEAKER_07Well, and because it seemed like it was more trouble than it was worth. Like, so when you so we're recording right now. Oh, you're recording audio.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_07We're disclosing that because it's uh well and we can pause it, but we wow, those look great. This is new. This is where you were talking about all that pulling the ink across the page and stuff.
SPEAKER_09These are going over to Jacksonville some Baptist hospital uh new uh building they're putting out in the seven times. I don't know where that is, but yeah. All right, I just took a picture I had.
SPEAKER_07I was looking for my uh my metaglasses. Oh, they're there.
SPEAKER_09So did you see other piles of uh yes. Yes, yeah.
SPEAKER_07So what do you how do you do what are you what are these doing? That's you just yeah of paint on there?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, you get a lot of paint on and kind of I barely 10% of that's brush.
SPEAKER_08Mostly tools, you know. How are you and the are the are did you tape it at one point?
SPEAKER_09Oh yeah, tape the crap out of it. Uh but like you can kind of see the rules and it's stuck.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_09But the best one, the best dragger is a little special distinct. Nice. And it's got a trough, so it'll actually hold paint in this little weird trough, but feel that it's like a supple.
SPEAKER_07Well, it's rubber, right? Yeah. I mean these are what we used to do. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Um, that's nice.
SPEAKER_07This and this is all um like stencil?
SPEAKER_09Um, parts of it are parts of it are like printed uh on a laser paper and then other parts are just I did these lines of the colour. Wait a second, when you say print it on laser paper, do you mean the paper goes on there? No, I just I literally cut it out. Like this was in the computer. This is where the client solved. Okay.
SPEAKER_08So I have to you have to send them this before I can even do that. Yeah. And so you have to make that look just like this. This is close as possible. It's it's impossible. You know, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. So it was like how are you making these things? How are you making these things?
SPEAKER_09Or we can just I make this file the same 60 by 72 in the computer, and then I just go into Illustrator, I trace like those on through the arrangement and all that, and then just cut it out, make my own look skin hard too. Yeah. But some of it was just freestyle. Hey, it's builds. I don't want to do much more of this. I think I'm gonna go back to it soon and again.
SPEAKER_07But this is experimenting, isn't it?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, yeah, it is for sure.
SPEAKER_07This got the man. Oh no, I I've been doing this. I gotta fit I gotta fit right in there on uh we're not gonna have to find the line. Yeah, we get jacked a little bit. All right, three, three, three.
SPEAKER_09She'd love to go.
SPEAKER_07Uh check out the new court.
SPEAKER_09We're gonna go up to Cumberland on uh Saturday morning for the weekend.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_09They just they just put a fire ban on it for the whole island. Can't even have a cooked state.
SPEAKER_07Oh we gonna do eat sandwiches the whole time. What are you gonna do?
SPEAKER_09I don't know. We're checking into if we can use a hot plate like in the bathroom that uh that's pretty bad. Yeah, it's pretty bad. Uh or it's just gonna be cold too, man.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Bananas.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, bananas.
SPEAKER_07Bananas and bread and peanut butter.
SPEAKER_09But yeah, yeah. Like easier sometimes.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, somehow easier for sure.
SPEAKER_09Well man, I'm glad to see y'all.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, man. Good to see you. I love to see those new paintings you got going on. I love seeing those new paintings. Those are great. So you got a buyer.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, I I gotta I've got to build all this hospitality and stuff like his project. He did it, man. It just came out of nowhere.
SPEAKER_05Wow.
SPEAKER_09Rare, you know.
SPEAKER_05That's cool. Yeah. Do you drive them up there?
SPEAKER_09I'm going to.
SPEAKER_07Uh-huh. You can't put them in your truck or it won't make it.
SPEAKER_09I don't think my truck. I don't trust my truck. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Alright.
SPEAKER_09I need let it only, but whatever. Oh hey, if you ever need if you need help, okay.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, let me know if you see any more. I would I'm gonna get it. I'm gonna get a lot. I need a lot. Alright, let's see ya. Sorry about the beeping uh listeners. Are you recording that whole time?
SPEAKER_05No. Okay.
SPEAKER_03I think I'm recording now though. Okay. Yeah, that's right. I remember you said you stop it.
SPEAKER_07The whole filming thing didn't really work out as planned, but wow.
SPEAKER_03It was our first time trying this, so we gotta figure it out.
SPEAKER_07It's really not it's like it's enough to just be recording. Yeah. And then also you're trying to be taking pictures and also I mean that's what these people are doing that are doing these, you know, they got a film crew, they're filming them sitting in their little, you know, little room on their couch with their microphone, right? But and now we're trying to do too much. Yeah. And Wayne knows it. Wayne's probably been saying you guys need to get back to basics here. Yeah, that's what Wayne's saying, and Wayne's right. And and and you know how we knew? By osmosis, we knew what Wayne was thinking. Because we know that our original listener is like, I don't have time for a lot of Instagram, meta glasses, right, yeah, baloney. Get back to basics. Go get some bananas and cool bananas, yeah. Uh anyway, so yeah. I you know, I think, I think to be honest with you, slice, I was just trying to make it more fun. Like, like I needed to get paint, and I really wanted to get the uh bags of mulch.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Because I'm working in my yard, and I have a big pile of mulch. I'm mulching beds with it, but then in my orchard, the trees, I can go fill up my wheelbarrow, uh-huh, roll it over to the tree. Uh-huh. One wheelbarrow is maybe two trees, one or maybe sometimes one tree, uh-huh, and then go back and keep doing it. Or you take one of these bags, you drag it over there, and you just dump it out, yeah, and you're done. You know, it's like you're you're not shoveling the stuff, you're not, it's just much easier. It's just much easier and economical for that matter. That's right. Plus, this is real, this is really good stuff. Like, this is the stuff that's like super organic, understory. That's what your that's what your garden wants and loves. Keeps the ground moist, what little moisture there is, 100% moisture. Keeps the moisture in there 100% organic and free, except for that I put all that money into the gas tank, and I'm driving you all over.
SPEAKER_03The gas wasn't free.
SPEAKER_07Now, what I of all the things that we've done, besides getting gas, which doesn't count because that's just a normal part of driving a vehicle, the only thing I really had to do was get the t-shirts. Uh-huh. And I actually didn't even have to do that because I could have gotten the t-shirts tomorrow, I guess. Yeah. But I would have had to remember. Yeah. The reason I got them when you remembered is because I was like, I could so easily forget to get them. Right.
SPEAKER_03See, I always say that. When you think it's best not to put it off. When you think of something, you do it the second. I always said that.
SPEAKER_07I got leaves out the back of my truck on cars, unsuspecting cars behind me.
SPEAKER_05Well, it is what it is.
SPEAKER_03You know, it's like uh just an occupational house.
SPEAKER_07So yeah, I mean, here's the thing. The more of these errands that I get done now, the less I have to, you know, the more it the easier my life's gonna be up until I leave town on Friday morning.
SPEAKER_03You wanna you wanna knock it out as much as you can?
SPEAKER_07Because I'm leaving town for like Friday. Uh I got so she said I gotta be there Friday at one. That's when she wants the t-shirts. Yeah. I don't know what, like it seems kind of early, doesn't it? So I guess they have like an event Friday night called a um scavenger hunt, bar crawl kind of thing. Okay. And it's supposed to start at um 6 30. Okay. I don't know why you gotta be there at one. But I just told her, you know what I did? My part? So t-shirts, I said I can print them, I print them, my shirts, I'll I'll get them printed, I'll bring it to you. And then she goes, I I said, whenever you want them, just and then she goes, Oh no, what how are you gonna get us the shirts? And I said, whenever you want them, let me know. Then she said, I want them at one o'clock, and you know what I said? Fine. I'll be there. She said, you know what, I'll be there. Because you know what? Hold on. What one o'clock means to me is I can get my ass up Friday morning, maybe swim for 30 minutes or an hour, right? And then get my stuff and go straight to the beach.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, now we're talking.
SPEAKER_07Now I'm on vacation. That's right. I'm on vacation uh for my, you know, for Friday all day. My buddies are coming Friday night. Right. We hang out Saturday, right? And then Sunday they leave, and we have other people coming over, and it's not the Carolina chocolate drops, it's the Alabama Shakespeare. That's right. That's who we're going to see. That's right. Yeah, yeah. Because remember, I said it was Alabama chocolate drops. Right.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Uh no, you said it was Alabama chops.
SPEAKER_07I said it was Alabama Chocolate Drops, and you said it's the Carolina chocolate drops. And I said, Oh, well, it's the Carolina chocolate drops.
SPEAKER_03But I remember talking about the woman in that band, Britney Howard. So we must have been talking about the Alabama Shakespeare.
SPEAKER_07I think maybe I'm gonna go back and mix it and see. Maybe you're right. And I and I'm the one who thought you probably thought it was the Carolina shakes. And you were saying it's the Alabama Shakespeare, and I said, Yeah, that's what it must. When you said, Oh, it's the Carolina, I think you corrected me that it's the Carolina truck that drops. That's where I got that in my head. Yeah, probably that that sounds like something I would do.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Correct you.
SPEAKER_07About a about a full. Well, I mean, you know, whatever. I I don't it doesn't so I so that means so tomorrow, so then I've got to be on my own podcast tomorrow, slides. I mean on a different podcast. Right, section. No, different podcast than that. Oh, what's so you're you're gonna be a guest on a podcast? I'm a guest on a podcast. Yeah, what's that? Like a real podcast.
SPEAKER_03Like well, wait, what do you mean?
SPEAKER_07Well, they have like a camera crew and then they take clips and they put it on their social media. They edit it. Yes. Okay, got it. Heavily edited, probably really nice microphones. It's in a soundproof room. Um I don't know. That's the problem. I don't really understand. This some guy in a latchwa has a company out there. I think it's engineering. And you told me about this.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. And so I was gonna do the podcast, and then I'm and then I pinched my neck. Yeah. And I had to bow out of the podcast and PK Young spinning pizzas. Uh-huh. And so now I'm like, I'm better. And so it's like, all right, well, the I'm going tomorrow, and it's in a latchways, and I I don't, I tried to, I can't even find the podcast to watch it. That's the problem I'm having. Uh or you know, I can't find it to listen or to watch it.
SPEAKER_03Your uh, you know, your podcast app of choice, and he typed it in. Mind the gap. That's what it's called. Mind the gap.
SPEAKER_07Nowhere to be seen. There's a ton, no, there's all these mind the gaps. There's mind the gap, mind the gap, mind the gap. So which one is it, you're saying, yeah. I don't know which one it is. And then when I ask her, like, can you link me to it? She said, Oh, it's she linked me to some video clips, and I think she said it's like a new project, and it's uh yet to launch, and they're just getting all their episodes ready. So then it's not even out yet. I don't even think it's out yet, but I've it's been a month since I contacted with her. Okay. So I don't know. Like, I'm gonna be interviewing them as much as they're interviewing me. Like, what are you what am I doing here?
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_07Uh I think it's I think he like one of the I think I told you the other person they said he interviewed was the guy who had fracture. The business. Now I remember. For business leaders.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_07Right? So he wants to talk about my business, my brand, right, and the lawsuit. The lawsuit's what got him interested in talking to me. Yeah, I remember that. But then I think, you know, he's thinking, like, oh, well, you can't just talk about the lawsuit for an hour. You're gonna have to talk about business. Um I I like that kind of stuff. It's it's fine, you know. And the more I but I don't understand I wish it was better. I wish I knew better what I was getting into. Yeah. Because you know, I can easily come to you next week and say, oh my god, you don't know what I can't believe what I got myself into. You know. But I do think they're gonna be filming me, and that's not good, you know. I gotta probably shave or maybe don't shave. Maybe it doesn't matter. I mean you should grow, wear a mustache. I should wear a mustache. Um, so then what else? Uh then you then then oh, my nephew Eamon is in town and he is uh he he lives in New York, but I think he's in town for something. He contact Caroline to say, hey, I'm in town. Yeah, and I haven't seen him in years. So we're supposed to have lunch on Thursday. Okay. Right after my podcast thing. Right, right? So you got the podcast and you got lunch. Yeah. So anyway, let's get back to the mail. I think we got off. Yeah, it was online. We have so anyway, I'm I've that's why I'm taking you on this errand. You're helping me a lot, bro. You're helping me. The whole point is like I feel bad that I'm taking you on these errands and loads and stuff, and you could be picking up your kid right now, spending time with your child who's sick.
SPEAKER_03Well, yeah, but is she sick? Do we need to go straight to PK? No. Uh let's go to my house. Okay, then I'll because um, I still gotta pick up the other kid. I'm sorry. Betsy, I gotta get the other kid in three. Okay. Um, but so we're just good, you're just going home. Just going home. Okay, yeah. So uh, but Emmy Lou sent that field recording. Are you gonna drop it like usable?
SPEAKER_07Uh we're not gonna do it now, obviously. Right, we're gonna drop it later. And and and I wanted to say, like, I've been on a story core before. Are you familiar with Story Core? Uh I've heard of Story Core. So the Story Core was in town and they were doing a little recordings in a bus. Oh, yeah, I remember that. Many years ago. And uh me and Lenny Kessel went up there. Oh, nice story that's in the legend of Lenny Kessel. And it's it's in the archives of the archives. Yeah, nice. So I like that idea. I think it's uh it's quite good. I mean, basically, what it's I mean, Story Core is the podcast, and you know, that's a great. I'm sure those would be you could just I could just listen to those all day long. Uh huh. You know, people like talking over their dinner table. What did what did you and Lenny Kessel talk about? I don't even remember. We've probably talked about art. We probably talked about art. Yeah. But I like I like I that's why I like the Babcock um Teams calls and stuff so much. Because it's just like everyday, I mean it's kind of like what we're doing. It's just like everyday, everyday conversation. Right.
SPEAKER_03There's they're just like a couple of guys like us.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Everyday conversation.
SPEAKER_07So I like, I would, I, I like that idea. I think that's that, and I bet there's some really good ones. I bet you could get that that microphone around some families over dinner, and you could. I mean, like, I would love to hear Denise's family over dinner, you know? Denise from work?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, me too.
SPEAKER_03Okay, what else we got in the mailbag? So we'll play the later. As I said, we just got, like, during the pot the taping of this podcast, yeah, we just got an email from Eleanor. From Eleanor. And the subject, the subject of this email is very intriguing to me. The subject is traffic barrels.
SPEAKER_02Traffic barrels.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Are you do you have an image in your head? I'm thinking of the Bob's barricade. Oh, right, right. The iconic, uh, well, not iconic, but ubiquitous oriented white barrels, right? Certainly. That's what she's talking about.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Alright, so Eleanor says, I mean, now certainly. I mean, obviously. We're about to find out. Eleanor says, High gator and slicebird. This is a response to Oklahoma Bros question about conspiracy theories. My favorite conspiracy theory is that the US government bought too many of the orange traffic barrels that they have nowhere to store them. So they just leave them on highways and roads. It sounds silly, but it's kind of believable. Anyway, the big birthday party was last weekend. I hope that Emmy got a high quality field recording. Bye for now. I love it. And you know what? I feel like that's that's so believable. That's so below. I feel like that's the most believable conspiracy theory I've ever heard, as a matter of fact.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I like it. I I think I thought she was gonna say that the government had all these barricades and then they made a fake company called Bob's Barricade, and then they pay themselves for the barricades while they sit there every day.
SPEAKER_03That's probably the conspiracy theory.
SPEAKER_07Um so Caroline said when I was telling her that we were talking about conspiracy theories, she said your conspiracy theory. You know what she said right away? What? Yours is about health care and health insurance. Yeah. And getting going to a doctor. Yeah, I don't know if that's true. Well, but you but you uh yeah, maybe you're right.
SPEAKER_03How is that that's more of like a a um not so much a conspiracy theory as a uh commentary on the state of the health care insurance complex. The health care insurance industry complex. Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_07But you could talk about it for hours. I certainly I could have a whole podcast on that. Don't get me started. Don't we get five with our new uh with our new thing?
SPEAKER_03Maybe I should start talking about it.
SPEAKER_07Maybe would that be so great? I could listen to your podcast on what you're thinking about on the ranting about the healthcare. Yeah, it could just be about it could just be about all your healthcare things every day. You could skip it, you could do every other day.
SPEAKER_03Right, more like every other day. Is that all the mail then? Uh yeah, that's all the mail. But what about the stature ones? Get back to the stature ones. That's that's the ones I look forward to every week. I mean, we love the Babcocks, of course. Or is the chronicle story, but we could get into that another time. Alright, let's see. Uh okay, so we got one from Statchel uh subject is conspiracy. Conspiracy theories.
SPEAKER_07Oh, we just talked about that one. All right, what's the next one?
SPEAKER_03Well, I know what the next one is. Sports talk. Sports talk. Here we go. Sports talk. Uh okay. PK uh PK, which is the school my kids go to, PK Boys Tennis, one regional Wayne reports. Oh, so Wayne gave you that report.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I don't know why Wayne can't use his little fingers and thumbs to like tell us whatever he wants to tell us himself straight out.
SPEAKER_03So you're saying he told you in real, in person, he told you this.
SPEAKER_07No, he texted me to say sports talk. He said he texted me and says sports talk, PK. His son's on a on a tennis team and they're and they're and they're winning games and winning games, and they were celebrating last night at Spatchballs, actually. Oh, okay, cool. And um, so he's sending me these updates. Full and I'm um, and then I'm just like bringing them. I'm bringing like I know it's it's really against policy, podcast policy, to like bring other people's items into the podcast. What do you mean items? Like, what do you mean? Well, sports talk. His item is that is the EK uh boys.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, you're saying it's a team is one regional. Is it regional? Uh yeah, uh it was um, yeah.
SPEAKER_07So anyway, yeah, regionals. Yeah. So um yeah, thanks, thanks, Wayne. Uh do we have another sports talk? I don't I don't know sports news? Oh, Condon's staying at University of Florida. You know who I saw is not staying though? Xavier Lee. Chiny Lu. Chiny Lou, Chinat. Xavier Lee, Chiny Lu, Xavier Lee. But Condon staying and How? How's the name? How?
SPEAKER_03Condon Halk. Condon Hauk. Boogie Flan.
SPEAKER_07Boogie Flan.
SPEAKER_03Boogie Flan.
SPEAKER_07I wonder what Boogie Flan's doing. Boogie Flan's coming back, I think. All right, now we're talking about Boogie Flan. Uh okay. Well, I'm really paying the price on my neck today from all this, like getting. I went last night. I got home from work. Oh my gosh. Working way too late at work on all these little projects out there at the greenhouse. Back to normal. It's just like good old days, right? Right. And then I come home. I'm doing my thing. And and uh, oh, Caroline said, Oh, get me some coconut water. So I was happy to have an errand to run for her, sure. You know, because she never has asked for anything. So I go get the coconut water while there I go ahead and get some, you know, some beers. Why not? And uh bananas. And uh why not? So I get home and I'm just like, I'm tired. And then I get that a picture from John about those bags across the street. And I've been looking for bags. Sometimes I even leave the house with my truck hoping I'll see them. Yeah, just driving around looking for them. Yeah, well, I don't go out driving looking for all, but I'll take the truck because if I see them. Right. But it's always about the time of year. We think it's in the fall, it's not in the fall. You then you think it's in the winter? It's not in the winter, it's now, it's in the spring, is when everybody starts raking up their yard. The crazy thing is, we are starting mulching, mulching, mulching everything. The thicker the mulch in the beds, uh-huh, the better. The more mulch around the bottom of the trees, the better. Keeps it moist, keeps it nice. And so these people are raking up the leaves and putting them in bags. So I went twice. So I'm home, I'm tired. It's probably seven o'clock. Have some leftovers, and then I'm like, I'm going back. And I go up there. Carol's like, just ask John. He's not doing anything. Ask John. So I asked John, hey, you what are you doing? Are you home? What are you doing right now? She's like, he don't have anything to do. He's a painter. Okay, that's his livelihood. He's a painter, right? He's an artist. And so he's like, Ask him. So I'm like, all right, so hey man, what are you doing? You is the truck running? He's like, uh, I'm watching a movie. I'm already like, all right, and then I'm like, I'm going to get so I go over there and get them and come back. I'm like, shit, I'm going to get more. I counted. There were I after the ones I got, there were 57 more. Wow. And so I was like, I'm I'm going back. So I went back, got a second one. I already got a I already got a third one this morning. Yeah. This and then I was like, I want to get one more at least. I wanted him to put his truck together and bring some out. What I really wanted. I love his truck. I should have taken a picture of. But I forgot. But I felt like he was, he was, he I don't think he really wants to do that kind of stuff.
SPEAKER_03No, of course he doesn't want to do that. He wants to make his his art, he wants to make his paintings. He's uh a serious artist.
SPEAKER_07Right. Well, you don't really want to do it either, but you go along with it somehow. Uh because Amanda Amanda wouldn't go off. She didn't want to go along with it. No, of course not.
SPEAKER_03She's not going along with it. It's crap. That's because we do a podcast about male friendship. That's right. And male friendship means you run errands together. Uh male friends.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. And you see your bros along the way.
SPEAKER_03Right. It's like, oh, what are you doing? Hey, bro, what's going on, bro? We got Oklahoma, bro. We got our bro John that we just saw. We got your bro Eric. He's been on the podcast.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Yeah. Eric's over my house right now. He he Eric is. There's a dog in this road. Bro Wayne. He's the OG, bro. Yeah, totally. Okay, like, if I if I don't want to hit the dog, but I gotta get up some speed before I hit that sand up there. Oh dude, I'm getting ready for it right now. Are you kidding me? Metaglasses? Gator's gunning it.
SPEAKER_01Oh shit.
SPEAKER_07Okay, wait, just now you're gonna get stuck. Oh, now I stopped, and that dog's gonna get in front of me again. Alright, sorry, Wayne. We're putting on the metaglasses. There we go. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Wayne's like, get back to basics.
SPEAKER_07Wayne. Ask your son to show you this video of me riding around and this dirt road in the pickup truck, right? Wayne, Wayne's having fun, man. Wayne's Wayne has pinch nerves too. Uh the worst. Uh well, I think having a baby might be worse, but uh, that's probably the worst.
SPEAKER_03They say that that's a lot of pain. The pain of childhood.
SPEAKER_07They say that, but we don't have to. Do they even have a high pain tolerance? Probably women. Not like we do for my gosh.
SPEAKER_01Manth lift. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_03That's what this podcast that's where this podcast is located in the manosphere. That's right, right? Dead center.
SPEAKER_07No, man, but it's no, I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm I I'm not shitting you right now, man. Like it was I I had planned to come over, like I had thought, okay, I'm gonna come over and we're gonna hang out on your porch and do the podcast. But then when it when it dawned on me that I could actually go get more mulch and some paint, I was like, I'm gonna do that. And then I remembered about the t-shirt. And then I had to get it again. So it I know it sucks, but like literally called anything goes. It's called anything goes, and you're up for it. That's the thing I've got. No problems.
SPEAKER_03You know what I was doing when you came when you uh showed up? Sitting there cross-legged. I was sitting there staring in the distance. I was doing my crossword puzzle. That's it. That's as busy as that was.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's as busy as that was.
SPEAKER_07How's the Subaru come along, the first the smashed out back under there?
SPEAKER_03She said that they uh got paid, the insurance company actually paid them, and now it's up to her to like jump the car. But so we're just waiting on her to do that.
SPEAKER_07Here, go out there and you hit it one time, just press it, and it'll just snap a picture. Just like wherever you get it, whatever you see, and then you just catch it and it'll snap. Makes a nice sound, too.
SPEAKER_03Alright, well, that was a fun podcast.
SPEAKER_07Okay. All right, yeah. Run errands? Hey! We can run your errands next time. We can run your errands. Okay.
SPEAKER_02I got errands.
SPEAKER_07I I I I'd definitely do that.
