Gator and Slice have to postpone the main episode

SPEAKER_01

Welcome uh number one podcast for people. My name is Gator. My name's Sliceberg. Uh we I just met Sliceberg in the parking lot. This is the work edition. Yeah, season nine. This is this is actually probably uh just uh a little quick update to let people know where I guess that we're not podcasting today. But ironically, we are podcasting. Well we we are we're we're not giving a f we don't have a full we don't have a full episode today.

SPEAKER_00

It's not gonna be like a two and a half hour episode.

SPEAKER_01

No, it's gonna be about two and two minute episode today. So tell tell us what happened.

SPEAKER_00

Why why why are we not having an episode? Our uh our good friend Sean, who is the um I think what would you say? He's the main prep guy. He's the prep guy, the prep boss, yeah. Right. He had um he had a kidney stone, so he's dealing with that. He's at the hospital, he's gonna have surgery to uh remove the kidney stone, which he said was the size of a kidney bean. It's which I think is funny, but also not funny. You know, eight and a half millimeters, which is one third of an inch. Wow. It is big. Did you have to did you know that? Or did you have to Google did you have to convert? I did the conversion. Okay, right. I did the conversion. Because I'm like, eight and a half millimeters seems really big. Yeah. Oh, certainly, yeah. Especially for something that's like lodged in your internal organs.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, exactly. That yeah, you're you're not you're not peeing that out.

SPEAKER_00

No, certainly not. I at least not with Polog.

SPEAKER_01

So, yeah, on uh Saturday wasn't feeling good, and then on Sunday wasn't feeling good, and then on Monday he called me and I'm like, go to the hospital, I don't have insurance, and you gotta go, man. You can't just like what are you gonna get and just die on the streets. And then he went in on Monday to the uh emergency room, like a little, it's like the remote office, and then they kept him and they and they don't want to let him go because well, no, it was a long story. It's a long story because he first went to the local place and they said, We don't do the imaging here, go get the imaging done tomorrow. Right. Then he went and got the imaging done, and they said, Oh, you need to go to the emergency room. Right. This is this is gotta, you gotta deal with this right away. This is an emergency. Yeah. So then he goes to the place they told him to go, and that's just a place where they keep him until they get a room in the hospital. He kept him there like a day. He was there in a hallway overnight on a bed. Unacceptable. And then they finally get him into the hospital and he's in the emergency room, and he's been in the emergency room for another day. And then last night, another day, and then I was last night, I was like, I went up there to see him, and they thought they were gonna go into the get him um surgery, and they said, Oh, we we got other emergencies, you're stable, we're gonna put you off till tomorrow morning. Right. So then they moved him to another corner of the emergency room, just like in the back. And then he finally got admitted to the hospital today and got a room. And now supposedly it's happening this afternoon. All this time, right? You're having to do all of his work and your work. That's your work and his work. That's right. What and his work is like doing what? You make dough, and what does he do? Right, he does everything else.

SPEAKER_00

Food order. He does the order, he does the sauce, he does the salad dressing, mushroom ranch dressing, he does cheese and mushrooms, pesto. Pesto, which is one of my favorite things to do. I like making the pesto. You do? Yeah. It smells good, it smells amazing. Um, so you did all you know how to do all that. Yeah, well, he taught me a long time ago. And the order? Well, this is I'm about to do the order for the first time. Um but I feel comfortable. But you you have a car. I have I know what the pars are. I have a sheet with everything on there. Yeah. I'm just gonna go be thorough and check everything.

SPEAKER_01

And you're working long hours. Yeah. How do you feel?

SPEAKER_00

Which is which is funny when you say that, long hours? Like it's like an eight-hour shift, which is not, you know, I mean, right. Yeah. I mean, I well, I appreciate it. Well, I thank you. I appreciate you. It's not appreciated.

SPEAKER_01

Like, I I I I thought about coming in to help you, but I'm like, I'll probably just be in the way. So you came in to do the podcast and stuff. Yeah, no, I came in to I came in for another reason, but I thought, oh, while you're here, we'll tell people that we're not doing a podcast today.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's that's good. Um, that's good podcast etiquette. Instead of like ghosting people, yeah. And they go, what happened? What happened? Well, there's a reason we can't do it, blah, blah, blah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean, when you get done with work, you gotta go, it's kid duty. You know it. Time for the kids. You know it stuff. Although I probably could come over to your house later. We could sit around and do it, and while your kids do whatever they normally do. Yeah, yeah. It's not like you're playing ball with them in the yard.

SPEAKER_00

Certainly not.

SPEAKER_01

But you probably want to recover too to some degree. Maybe anyway, what are what is it? You're not doing it tomorrow. We're not when are we gonna do it? Like, what are we gonna do? Like, everybody wants to know. They're emailing, texting me. What are you guys gonna do? Right. If you're not doing it anymore. Yeah, they want to wanna know. Yeah, we do. Why can't we do it tomorrow?

SPEAKER_00

You're going to the job.

SPEAKER_01

I can do it anytime. Well, maybe we'll do it tomorrow then. But you got to work tomorrow, just the same as today.

SPEAKER_00

Well, that's true, but we could do it like uh, you know, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, he might be better and be back, but he doubt, I doubt. He's having surgery today. Yeah, you should be out tomorrow. All right. Well, if we have to do it Saturday, I'm just the only reason I care is for them. It's not for me. All right. I can do it. It's nothing to do with me. Well, here's the deal. I don't I don't have a real busy day. So if you get home and you're chilling and you want me to come over, I'll come over to your house and we'll do a couch session. Okay. We don't have to go eat, we don't have to go do anything. We could just hang around on your porch and yeah, talk about whatever. That could be an awful lot. But we can also do it tomorrow after what whatever.

SPEAKER_00

Your kids aren't little kids anymore. Yeah, well, actually, tomorrow might be good because Georgia's going home with her friend anyway. Tomorrow? Tomorrow. So, but I do have to go get Betsy. Um, but I could we could do it, that's at three. We could do it all so.

SPEAKER_01

I was thinking just so you know.

SPEAKER_00

That's good material. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, here we are in the pickup line. Anything goes, yeah, waiting for the kids. And then they get in, you get to find out the T about what happened at school. Oh, oh, we're gonna hear the T, yeah. All right. Well, what anytime that you're ready to go pick up the kids or you need to run errands, if you have to run errands, let me know. That's what we do with on this podcast. Yeah, we can do that. We can do that. All right. Well, thanks for our listeners for uh for holding out. We're we're we're cut we're gonna we're gonna get we're gonna we'll get you. Re uh real life got in the way, so real life. Not that the podcast isn't real.

SPEAKER_00

All right. You heard it here first.
