We get lots of mail and we have lots of fun except we both get mad but about different things.

SPEAKER_02

Here we go.

SPEAKER_00

Here we go.

SPEAKER_02

Here we go. We're live. Live. I tell you. This is this is as live as it gets. We're we're uh oh man, I just fixed that fountain. What is the problem with it? It looks like it's working.

SPEAKER_09

Look at it again.

SPEAKER_00

Oh well.

SPEAKER_09

Alright, get in the car, we'll talk about it. Ah.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, we're getting into the podmobile.

SPEAKER_07

Alright.

SPEAKER_02

Setting up the voice recorder.

SPEAKER_07

This is kind of like our second home, the podmobile. We got our our actual home, and this is like our second home.

SPEAKER_02

We are at uh the Status Pizza, which is a restaurant in Gainesville, Florida.

SPEAKER_06

Still open. And uh going strong. I picked up uh my friend Sliceberg here from work. Well, I was at work too, actually, so I didn't really. I was we're just leaving work.

SPEAKER_02

Basically, both of us. Let me get out and this is your time to shine.

SPEAKER_07

You tell him whatever you can tell him. Alright, Gator's going to fix the uh the fountain. I'm gonna take a picture of him fixing the fountain. So yeah, it's my time to shine. Um as usual, this is when um I have the opportunity to shine, but then I completely clam up and I can't think of anything to say. Oh, Gator's back. All right, here we go. Did you fix it?

SPEAKER_09

Oh yeah, you just what did you tell him?

SPEAKER_07

I just started uh to uh um talk about how it was my time to shine, and then by the time I was done with that, you were already back. So I didn't I didn't even get a chance to shine.

SPEAKER_09

Oh, that's good. That's a good thing.

SPEAKER_07

Well, it it except that it waste water.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah. There I don't want to waste water. We're in a a world where water is um what you call it. It's a precious resource. A resource, a precious resource. Right. I need some water, so let's have a let's have a um hydration break. Yeah, here we go.

SPEAKER_07

Hydration break. What does that make you think of? That makes me think of the World Cup. And it's funny because when we talked about that last week, uh I was I had was asking myself about that. I was like, that's weird. I've never not that I watch a lot of soccer, but you know, I'm 48 years old. I've watched, you know, every World Cup since probably 1994 or whatever. Yeah. And I've never seen it. That's not like the first rounds are kind of a little bit boring, but it does get more exciting. Yeah, I know it's super exciting. I love it. I I love every minute of it. But but the hydration break thing, um, our Australian friend who was on the podcast, he uh he he incorrectly points out that it obviously has to do with like advertising. Making money. Right. It has nothing to do with hydration, right? Right. Although I bet if you were the play, I was wondering about this. If you were the players, you would probably welcome that, right? Like an extra break. Seems like you would want that.

SPEAKER_02

I think I think the the issue is is that people are used to just washing it straight through, right?

SPEAKER_07

Right, and that's that's the thing that's super famous about soccer. It doesn't stop. The clock doesn't stop, it doesn't stop.

SPEAKER_02

And then so the brakes, I mean, first of all, to me it doesn't seem like there's that many of them. Well, there's one per half, yeah. Yeah, that's not bad. I mean, and that's and what's wrong with that? Like it's hot out there, let them have some water, they're running their ass off. Yeah, I think that's good. Now, the the interesting thing about that is when I was watching it in California, I mean the hydration breaks, yeah. Commercial, commercial, commercial, right?

SPEAKER_11

Right.

SPEAKER_02

But then when I get home, my wife is watching it on Telemundo. Right. And so the announcers are speaking Spanish, which she speaks, yeah. And it sounds, and there's no and when they go on a hydration break? Yeah, no commercials, right? There's no commercials. They keep talking about the players and the the strategies and uh like they just keep talking. Now I don't know what they're saying. Of course not, and but I would prefer to watch it on Telemundo. I don't even and and actually she started watching it yesterday with the sound off. Right. And to me, that's the best way to watch it 100%.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Sound off. I don't like I I prefer to watch it on Telemundo. Like, here's another thing. Um American TV, not only do they have commercials, when they score a goal slicework, yeah, nobody said anything. It was like nothing happened. There was no like goal, there was no like one, there's no and you I mean, I'm like, did I just see a goal? Like I'm looking at it like, didn't they just make a goal? And then you see the guys jumping around and like, oh yeah, they scored a goal.

SPEAKER_07

But you wouldn't know that.

SPEAKER_02

But you wouldn't know that, but then on television the guy's like, right. Did I do I did I this my calling? Right. You're very good at that. Except for that part where my voice is cracking. But they'll do that, they do that every time, and sometimes they do it twice, and yesterday I heard him do it three times.

SPEAKER_07

Well, did they score three goals?

SPEAKER_10

Oh, it was the third goal. That's why he did it three times. Right. They do it twice. Because he did it twice.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, so they do it once for the first goal, twice for the second goal, and three times for the third goal. I don't know, dude. I think that's what happened because I was watching uh Morocco and Haiti. Right. And I think it was Haiti, I think it was Morocco's third goal when I heard him call it the goal three times. Right. But I never would have thought of that. I thought he was just trying to, he didn't have him. Yeah, no, maybe that's true, yeah. It's much more that's that's what makes it feel like World Cup to me. True, you know? But my wife has always watched Pelemundo because she speaks Spanish and she's just snobby that way. She was a Latin American studies, she got a master's degree in Latin American studies. Right. And so it's just more interesting to her. She doesn't give a shit that I don't know what they're saying. She could care less. Right. But um, so I've just but I did I've just gotten used to that, to that. But uh yeah, I I've been watching, I mean, I watched last night I was watching um uh Scotland and uh Brazil. Brazil, right? Great match, yeah. Man, Brazil is just it's just it was not a good game. I mean, it's a good game for Brazil. You like Brazil, right? Yeah, but the Scottish fans are so rabid and they just don't, they're not gonna make out of the unfortunately for them.

SPEAKER_07

Um uh they didn't make it out of the first round there.

SPEAKER_09

But uh but it but anyway, it was fun. It's fun to see Brazil. They're really good. Yeah, and I was first of my seeing them this year.

SPEAKER_02

And then we switched over to the Morocco Haiti game because Haiti had you couldn't, you didn't expect Haiti to score two times. Right, it was close, right? Wasn't it three to two or something? Yeah, it was two to two for a while.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And uh, and then Caroline, my wife, she's saying that Haiti's like the poorest place.

SPEAKER_07

Like they don't even have uniforms in Spain. They might not uh I I'm curious if Haiti has ever qualified for a World Cup in the past. This might be their first World Cup.

SPEAKER_02

Uh this is the first World Cup they scored in. I don't know if it's a lot, but yeah.

SPEAKER_07

I'm taking another hydration break. We gotta go to a commercial.

SPEAKER_02

So so tonight is um USA. That's right, but there's only one problem.

SPEAKER_07

You know 10 p.m. And you have to be our work early in the morning. 0% chance that I will be awake at 10 p.m. tonight. Is there a percentage of chance that you'll be watching the highlights? Oh, certainly. I'll be watching the highlights. I mean, I'm gonna make an effort to stay up, but maybe if you took a nap. I could try that.

SPEAKER_02

It doesn't always work, but I could try that. Yeah. If you could take a nap, that would be the way to go. Take like a two-hour nap and then watch a two-hour game, you'd be good to go.

SPEAKER_07

Right. I could try that. But I've been watching every other game. I've been, you know, uh I can't stay up that late, but the the matches before that, certainly I'm gonna launch it. Who are we playing? Turkey. Turkey. Turkey. Who's not gonna make it out of the group? Right. That's what that's what I was just talking with Shane about at work. It's like it's kind of like almost a pointless game because no matter what the outcome, the US wins to group, it moves on, Turkey loses to group, it doesn't. Win or lose doesn't matter. Doesn't change uh, you know, the brackets of the tournament or anything.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but you get to see the team play and stuff. Yeah, totally. She was saying that there's some guy in the commercials, the USA guy in all the commercials, uh-huh. Who um, because I don't know, like I guess eventually during halftime, Telemundo even has commercials. Right. But uh who's uh who's not even played yet, but he's yet he's the star of the commercials.

SPEAKER_07

Hasn't played yet.

SPEAKER_10

He hasn't played, maybe he's hurt. Oh, yeah, you're talking about uh USA.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, uh Pues Flick? Is that Poose Flick? Yeah, I don't know how to say it, but that's the guy's talk. Yeah, he's in the commercials. That's true, he is in the commercials, that is true. But he has but he's that he's he's injured or something. Right, yeah, yeah. I um I guess I guess I kind of heard them talking about that, so I did know that.

SPEAKER_02

Did I wonder if a lot of people know that we've become a um like a World Cup podcast?

SPEAKER_07

The last episode we certainly have become a World Cup podcast.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean we we we're we're doing pretty good, and we didn't even we didn't even introduce it as sports talk or a World Cup. That's right out the gate. We're just talking about now. What is this truck doing? So we're going to Lowe's. We're starting out at Lowe's because again, Sliceburg, my buddy here, has agreed to go with me to buy one thing at Lowe's if I buy him lunch. That's been the trade-off. He didn't say it that I just said, hey, let me buy you lunch, and I gotta go to Lowe's.

SPEAKER_07

Right, and I I quickly agree.

SPEAKER_02

He's like, okay, yeah, but um I've my daughter is um she wants to make as many things as she can for when she goes off to school. She wants to make as many homemade things as she can. And she has made already um okay, here we go. Do I have my wallet? Yes, it's right there.

SPEAKER_09

Coasters. Coasters. You got a lot going on on on your phone.

SPEAKER_07

No, just two text messages. From who? Uh one from the Capoeira teacher and the other one from um uh I already forgot who the other one was from. Oh yeah, my buddy Andrew. Because I was talking about we uh I I play tennis with him. We play tennis once a week, so we're making making plans to play tennis tonight. Oh nice. So yeah. Um actually, uh, guess what? I came here yesterday and bought one thing. Oh, you did? Yeah. Well, you should have waited until today. It's it's actually funny you say that because I I at the time I was like, oh, this would have been good podcast material coming to Lowe's to buy one thing. Oh my god, and what are we doing? That's what we're doing.

SPEAKER_09

She's made coasters, and the way we did it is I took little pieces of plywood and she said squares, so I cut a square, and then I cut little pieces of trim to go around them so you can let tile in the coaster.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, because you're gonna put tile in it. So then she's already glued in the tile. And then I just didn't like she wants white grout, and I don't have I didn't have any grout at the house. And the grout at work I have is black. So we gotta get white grout.

SPEAKER_09

So I gotta get some white grout so she can finish her coaster. So she's made them, she's gonna grout them, and then she's gonna paint the little wood trim. They're gonna be so cute.

SPEAKER_02

She made four, and her friend Ella made four.

SPEAKER_09

Um, so what what do you so if between Caribbean spice, um, Chipotle, Hogan's Heroes, um, what else is around here? Il Indio, like what else? Uh like what would what do you prefer as far as food goes? I want to go to Tropical Eats, but they don't have until three. We don't have time for that. I don't have time for that. Yeah, I don't know. I'd be happy with any of that.

SPEAKER_02

That's not the answer.

SPEAKER_07

Well, we went to Hogan's like kind of root. Let's go to the Caribbean spice. Let's go to Caribbean spice, yeah. Caribbean spice.

SPEAKER_09

So Caribbean spice has like um Jamaican patties, right? Beef patties, the patties, veggie patties, of course, beef and cheese spinach, I think.

SPEAKER_07

Very nice, yeah.

SPEAKER_09

And then they have jerk chicken, of course, rice, cabbage, which I love their cabbage. They got oxtail.

SPEAKER_02

And uh they got ban like they got a banana bread and carrot cake. Okay, I love their desserts. Okay, yeah, that sounds great. All right, we are made it to the caulking, the the the uh grouting situation.

SPEAKER_09

And I'm gonna get one of these. Make sure you get the right color, eggshell. Um is it sanded or unsanded? That's what I need to know. I don't know. Should say premium superior.

SPEAKER_07

If it doesn't say, does that mean it's unsanded?

SPEAKER_09

It should say it. Um it usually tells you, I mean rapid setting all in one grout. That should be the main thing they tell you. Is it's I mean, it should say sanded or unsanded.

SPEAKER_02

Sanded is for bigger joints. See how, see what that says right there? Sanded grout. Yeah, that's on the back.

SPEAKER_07

Is that because like it's like a bigger area that has to be filled or whatever? Yeah, bigger joints. Right, so it's like uh additive to to make it right. But she's she doesn't have big joints.

SPEAKER_02

No, we want unsanded, which is much creamier, it's much better. All right, well, I'm gonna just buy this one and and just take whatever they give me. But you know, I was actually hoping for, I've actually seen, and I guess it, you know, in some and I I gotta say, in my experience, Home Depot is better than Lowe's in every way, in all in so many ways.

SPEAKER_09

So why are we electrical serve it? Because it's 10 more minutes to Home Depot. But there is a waffle house over there. That's true, yeah. We could eat there. That is true. Uh, what's this stuff here? Tile adhesive. That's nice. Okay, so that's it.

SPEAKER_02

So they have like one that's already mixed and creamy. You don't even mix water, which I don't mind mixing water, but it's just like it's a small thing like this, and it's already mixed.

SPEAKER_07

And you got sponges and you sponge?

SPEAKER_02

No, I'm good.

SPEAKER_07

All right, that's it. Because that's what you that's what you use, right? When you grout, you sponge it's kind of satisfying. You sponge it off when you're yeah when you're done.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, yeah. But they're so little, they're just tiny little coasters, you know. But yeah. Uh I have sponge and I don't know. I this is this is yeah, eggshell. All right, good. Um so uh Caribbean spice, we're good with that still. Heck yeah, let's go. All right. Hello, yeah, we're good. Um what are you mad about right now? I feel I feel a certain rage under your skin.

SPEAKER_07

There's always today. There's always that rage just below the surface.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like there's a below the surface rage today. Like something's got you a little bit. Now, am I wrong or right? I think you're wrong.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, there's nothing that comes to mind. There's nothing that but I'm like you've like I'm always angry about you know the um you know the healthcare industrial complex. It's something that we've a topic we've touched on many times. Yeah. So that's probably it.

SPEAKER_09

Well, I thought that there would be thought there was something else, you know. Like there was something that was just the usual.

SPEAKER_02

That was bothering you today. Just the usual. I sensed it a little earlier. I thought, what is he upset about? Do we need anything else? What did you get yesterday? I got screen for my port for my screen ports. Like a whole roll? I got a whole roll of screen. Are you re-screening?

SPEAKER_07

Well, it's only certain sections because our adorable cat keeps getting out. Uh and so we have to kind of tighten up the uh the you know the breaches in the screen.

SPEAKER_02

Have you ever seen the strips with sticky screen on them? No. So they we had um all right, let me let me let me I can't even I'm gonna get my Lowe's card out here.

SPEAKER_07

Um you're swiping it, look at that. You're old school like that. Swiping. Yeah, you can tell Gen Xers like us we swipe.

SPEAKER_02

Well, it's his Lowe's card, and they that's they don't have it. Okay, well there you go. That's why. Um so the uh what were we talking? What we what I forgot what I was talking about. You're talking about the screen. So we our screen was kind of coming undone at the beach, and it was like near, you know, where there's like a little the spline the sp- I think it's called spline. Right, that's the that holds that whole thing. Holding the screen in. Yeah. It was coming out at the spline or was ripping at the spline. Okay, and they make these strips that are about two inches of screen, uh-huh, and then and they're sticky. Okay, and you just cut them and stick them on. You stick them on that that like you know, an area to kind of to fix that. You don't have to re-screen the whole thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Would that work for you?

SPEAKER_07

I would have probably been better.

SPEAKER_02

Really?

SPEAKER_07

If I knew there is there was such a thing.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, it's so cool. It's like yeah, it's like a roll of screen with sticky back. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you just and you just fix like little you just repair little sections because what a pain to replace the whole screen.

SPEAKER_07

Well, it did what it wasn't that big of a thing, it was it was pretty easy, but um, but yeah, no, that would have for for this particular repair job, that would have been for ideal. The sticky screen, but I didn't even know there was such a thing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, well, I didn't either until um I don't even remember how we ended up finding that.

SPEAKER_07

I think Caroline I guess what Caroline figured it out later today or tomorrow or tonight when my cat rips the screen again. I'll come right back here and get that get the sticky stuff.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, but maybe she won't. I don't know. Here's the thing you can just order that sticky screen on Amazon via your house the next day.

SPEAKER_02

I know that people don't like that, but let me tell you about what that let me explain something about Amazon. A lot of people don't like that this where we live. Yeah, just because we're in a hippie town or whatever. Yeah, of course. But let me just tell you, when I go to get something, I have to drive out and I have to go from place to place to place in my car looking for something, right? And driving around, driving around. When Amazon gets it, they go and they just stop at my house, the next house, the next house, the next house. It's so much more efficient, right? So much less gas. Right. It's it it could take it the time is savings, is enormous. I agree 100% with everything. I'm like a huge fan of just ordering what you need.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, unless you have to do it that day. I I the only thing I object to is like the uh unnecessarily excessive packaging, right? Because like, for example, the other day I and I order from Amazon constantly, but I ordered some two guitar tuners, right? And the I'm not exaggerating, the box is this big, like literally like an inch and a half by an inch. But if they came in a big two of them in this huge box, and I'm just like they have there has to be a better way to do this.

SPEAKER_02

Well, they don't always do that though. Sometimes they sometimes they put that in a they'll put it in a paper. Yeah, paper envelope that you can recycle. And even even if it's a box, it's recyclable. Hey, guess what? They're closed, they're closed.

SPEAKER_07

What is that? I can't read it. It says we will be closed from June 19th to June 26th for summer break. And reopen June 27th. Which is, isn't today like the 25th? It is the 25th.

SPEAKER_02

Well, there's Hungry Howie's next door. They have Detroit style pizza at Hungry Howie's? Heck yeah. Oh my gosh. I didn't know they had Detroit style pizza. Looks good too, at least in the picture. Um I'm eating pizza tonight with the in-laws, though. Right, so I haven't had pizza. I've I eat a lot of pizza on my vacation. I ate pizza, pizza, pizza, pizza, but I didn't eat good pizza. Hungry howies. Well, I don't, I'm not really gonna, I can't do hungry how it's I would I would really, really love to do hungry howies right now. But one of the things I thought about earlier today, I was like, I kind of wish I was eating healthier. All right, well, Hungry Howie certainly doesn't. I want to eat healthier than I've been eating. And I don't know what that means, like exactly. Like, I'd like to find a really good salad, you know?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, right. Yeah, I mean I had a salad. Where's the best salad in Gainesville?

SPEAKER_02

Well, satchels, satchels. Well, that's that is. I had a salad yesterday there. But I want I want to continue to eat better, and I'm trying to think what does that look like?

SPEAKER_10

Uh does it look like Adam's rib?

SPEAKER_02

Let's go to Adam's ribs. I do like me some um some barbecue. I love Adam's. I haven't been to Adam's in so long. Yeah, it's right there. It's really good. Um, let's go to Adam's. It's fine. Like it's not the best eating. It's not the best. Like, I'm gonna eat Adam's rib barbecue for lunch, and I'm gonna have pizza for dinner. Sounds great. But no, I'm supposed to eat vegetables.

SPEAKER_11

My wife said they're not vegetables here, they got uh green beans, probably. I don't know. What about coleslaw? That's vegetables.

SPEAKER_02

I don't like coleslaw, and I don't know green beans, but what I really would like is like one of those places that do bowls like kava or whatever, where you get rice and veggies. That's healthy. I like that fresh kitchen. I haven't been there, but it's really good. Yeah, well, it's got a big FK on the building, which seems kind of weird. What's weird about that?

SPEAKER_07

Well, it's just when you see it, you want to just say, Oh yeah, now it took me a minute, but now yeah, now I see what's weird about it.

SPEAKER_09

All right. So this is our local barbecue place. Oh, Big Mills is good too. Have you been to Big Mills?

SPEAKER_07

No. I used to when that used to be Adam's, I used to go there. Uh-huh. But ever since Adam moves next door and that place opened up, I haven't been there. But I do like a cheesesteak. They got good cheesesteaks. Cada likes their hot dog. Ooh, I love a hot dog.

SPEAKER_09

And uh, but let's get barbecue. I have been kind of craving barbecue a little bit.

SPEAKER_02

Me too. Because when I went on my trip, we didn't get any barbecue.

SPEAKER_07

Well, I don't think California is or Colorado is known for its barbecue. No. They probably have barbecue. We didn't get any barbecue.

SPEAKER_09

Hey. Oh, I love the um Oh man, this place must be good. It's packed. It's got the gentle sounds of a restaurant, doesn't it? It's the gentle sound.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_09

Thank you.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna pause for a minute. Go to go wash my hands. Oh, you know what? I almost forgot. I almost forgot that we were doing a podcast.

SPEAKER_07

Hang on, wait, before you leave, I want to take a picture of this nine rubber.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. So um we got in there, I had to wash my hands. I paused, and then my son called and I talked to him for a second, and then they were just quick, and we ate so we our food came pretty much like right away. And it's loud in there. So we have eaten a delicious We both got the same thing brisket sandwich. Got different sides. He got coleslaw and French fries. I got black-eyed peas and baked beans. Right away when the French fries came, I realized I had made a big mistake in not getting the French fries.

SPEAKER_07

Isn't that like the most classic thing, right? The regret when you go to the restaurant. It's like there I feel like there should be a name for that. Like the regret? Well, yeah, but like specifically that kind of regret where it's like, I got the wrong thing. Right, great. But immediately it's like, oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Well, first of all, I did not realize how good their french fries were there. Because I haven't been there a long time. Their french fries are top-notch. They're crinkle, but they were just made so fresh. They were so hot I couldn't even eat them, right?

SPEAKER_07

They were scalding hot. Scalding hot. They were crispy, they were perfect. Now it might be a little controversial because I know that um Eleanor doesn't she objects to crinkle cut.

SPEAKER_02

Eleanor has not had crinkle cut from David's, though. Uh from Adam's. We have a David's barbecue too. Adam's in David's. It's a little confusing. Those local places. Um, those those were so good. I'm not, I mean, the ones at Sunny's, yeah, they're not very good. They're always soggy.

SPEAKER_07

They're kind of soggy.

SPEAKER_02

They're always like just cold, whatever. Those were so good. And I got black-eyed peas thinking I was gonna be healthy, but they don't taste like Caroline's black-eyed peas. No, no. And they and they were, they were, it was we didn't even finish with black-eyed peas. The beans were good. Baked beans were great. Baked beans were good, but I I I probably had too many. I kept eating his fries, and he didn't flap my hand away. He didn't say, What are you doing? Well, you uh you paid for lunch, so you kind of get a free pass. Yeah, I got a free pass. But I think that generally you're kind of the kind of guy that's gonna be nice about stuff like you're not gonna get it.

SPEAKER_07

I know how to share. I know how to share. It's like I did share my shit with you. You sure did, yeah. My black-eyed peas. I don't know. I think I'm not proprietary about that. I my my plate is open. You want to try it?

SPEAKER_02

Well, I had enough of your fries that I feel satisfied. I didn't feel too much regret because I if I ate all the fries that came on your plate, that would have been too many fries for me. And I feel very satisfied by that dinner, by that meal, that lunch.

SPEAKER_10

That was really good. It wasn't the healthy meal I was looking for. Certainly not, but it was very good.

SPEAKER_07

But it was good. The brisket was tender, brisket was tender, the fries were.

SPEAKER_02

I like it when they get a little bit more of the uh the fat out of it. You know, you don't like fat.

SPEAKER_07

I like it lean.

SPEAKER_02

I like it a little more lean.

SPEAKER_07

It was kind of fatty, but it was very good.

SPEAKER_02

It was a little fatty, but it wasn't chewy fatty, it was soft fatty.

SPEAKER_07

Right, yeah, it melts in it, it literally melts in your mouth.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it is good, but it is good.

SPEAKER_07

Anyway, so where were we? What were where were we before we ate lunch? That's a good question. You um what were we talking about? I can't even remember now. We talked about uh Kata's art project, the coasters. We got the that was a while ago. That was a while ago.

SPEAKER_02

Then we decided that we did we couldn't, the Caribbean spice was closed. Anyway, I think that probably next up we've done some sports talk. We sure did. We and and and uh and then oh we can we can do a Hollywood update. Hollywood update. All right.

SPEAKER_07

Did you see any movies? Uh no. Well, what what's the update on your on your film, on your phone film?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that's a good one. So that one that one um Toronto that one Tourette Festival said, oh you've been selected. Right. Okay, great. So I wrote and said, Hey, what do you need for me? Like, uh are you gonna screen it? Because I'll come up there. Yeah. Like, what's up? And then they said, and then somebody wrote me back the next day and they said the the they're they're figuring out the schedule. I think I told you all this. I'm just recapping. Figuring out the schedule, they're gonna write you. Then remember, I said, I don't think they're gonna write me back. It's been a couple days because she said they're doing that tomorrow. It was like four days later when I we had a pocket. Yeah. It's been now another two weeks, and I never heard any note. And I think that the festival's tomorrow. Okay. And um there one of the things I talked to my friends Steve and Brianna in in California when I was out there, and uh I mean, they they kind of they they kind of confirmed what I'd already kind of realized. Like it's kind of like the whole uh film festival circuit, it's kind of there's a lot of it's like kind of a scam in a way. So like they get money, like you pay, you have to pay a fee to like for them to even for the considerate, like here's my 50 bucks, some of them are 30 bucks, 50 bucks, 70 bucks, yeah, to be in their festival or to to have them consider it. That's to just to get them to look at it. That's just get them to look at it. And so you pay all this money, like so I can say I'm having a film festival and and charge 25 bucks for each person, make it look, make a little website, make it sound good, get a hundred, get twenty five hundred dollars, you know, get a hundred people, yeah, and never accept any of them or even have the festival. Right. I don't even think these people are having a festival, or maybe they're having it and they just had to accept, you know, well shit, we've got to accept, you know, so many. And they're like, well, let us accept this guy. He does it. Nobody's ever heard of this guy. He does it, he's not gonna, and then I write him back and they're like, oh shit, like we're not really we accepted him, but we're not even gonna play this movie. Well, as a matter of fact, we're making the schedule tomorrow. There's another festival, the one that the the main the one that I thought I had a chance for, actually, interestingly, is in Poland. Right.

SPEAKER_07

And because it's a you were saying it's a it's a battle of art making art.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, painting, sculpture, and I'm like, I'm doing all that stuff in my movie. Right. So they their festivals of the 4th of July for like two weeks. It's like they show a lot. This of it's been going on 15 years, seems like it's really legit. Legit, it's legit. And they got and they they take a lot of films because they do it for a week in in in uh Warsaw or whatever. Yeah, and um so they have their date of June um 15th to uh let you know notification date. But June 15th. Okay. All right, so June 15th, it's a few weeks out from the 4th of July, right? But it's you go you want to go to Poland, but okay. So I was like, I went and looked on June 15th. Well, guess what? They changed the date to June 21st. Oh, the the day that they were. Now they're gonna notify. Now it's June 21st. I'm like, well, June 21st is only two weeks from their festival date. Right. Like, what's up with that?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, seems seems uh cutting it close.

SPEAKER_02

And so I went but to look at it again, and guess what? Then it's June 28th. Now the notification is June the 28th. And so I'm like, well, if it like that's so stupid. Like how like I don't know. It doesn't anyway. I don't I I that whole project is is is not Hollywood for one. No, so it's Warsaw. It's um that I mean this is not a Hollywood update, and my movie's not really a Hollywood update, is what I'm saying. It's adjacent. But it but it it it's um it's fine. Like I realize I learned a lot. Like, I don't think that the film festival circuit is for me. I think that I could be, it could be if I was to um try to really zero in on verticals, which is what mine is, the vertical, or zero in on art, or zero in on some really small festival.

SPEAKER_07

You're just willy-nilly applying to every festival.

SPEAKER_02

Just I was applying to festivals that I thought, well, first of all, I was looking at festivals that had the closest notification date because I didn't want to wait around all year to find out if I was going to some festival. I want to be done with that. Right. So I was like, oh, these, and then I was picking ones that were like, oh, this is in Paris? Right. Oh, this is in Barcelona. That sounds fun, yeah. Yeah, but those aren't the kind of places, they have big festivals there. They're not picking, so I would have to like, I'd probably be better off trying to go to Tampa, Orlando, or somewhere that's a little bit local. Barcelona sounds great.

SPEAKER_07

Tampa sounds even better.

SPEAKER_02

Right. Uh well, or the other way around. Actually, we could just, I was gonna go sit there, but we can just sit here for a minute. In the pod movie? Uh we are we have gotten back to the Satchels Pizza, and we are um just hanging out with our windows down, and we're um we're gonna finish up the podcast. Nice uh uh, but no, I was gonna say that um I saw um Disclosure Day when I was on my trip.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, I think I've heard of this movie.

SPEAKER_02

It's a Steven Spielberg film that is about aliens that is just came out okay, like last weekend or something. Okay, yeah. Was it good? And so my friends in in California, they're movie people. So like, hey, you want to see disclosure? Yeah, let's go see disclosure. Um I don't know what I was expecting. Is it about aliens?

SPEAKER_11

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

But well, what's the what it what's being disclosed? Like, is it like the government is disclosing the secrets or whatever? Yeah, the files.

SPEAKER_02

Which is interesting because that just happened in real life. Right. All the like the alien stuff was released. But this was like this stuff, they had found these aliens, and I don't know if I was spoiler alert. I'm probably not gonna stay. They found these aliens, and for like 70 years they had kept it secret, and so somebody had copied all the files and they were gonna release them, and everybody was trying to kill him. Okay, all right. Because the government didn't want him to release the certainly not, no. So, and they had video footage of them, you know, torturing aliens or whatever. So, anyway, I it was I it was fine. I didn't, it was like your typical blockbuster film. The the storyline is kind of dumb in a lot of ways. Like, I didn't think like like there's parts of the storyline, well, that seems like what like that seems stupid, you know, like the guy's holding this thing in his hand and squeezing it, and then something's happening. It's like it just there's just dumb. It's just like dumb stuff. I don't know, it's just dumb. Like, it just I just I didn't it was okay. I didn't love it, right? I wouldn't watch it again. Right, so so I don't I don't recommend it. Okay, Steven Spielberg, and I would actually rather watch my bad movie. I would rather watch an art experimental art film. Right. That's what I realized. I'd rather watch an experimental art film.

SPEAKER_07

Your your bad phone movie is better than Steven Spielberg's mediocre. Basically, it's more interesting. I found it to be more interesting.

SPEAKER_02

No, it kind of kept you on the edge of your seat the whole time. So it's kind of like that sort of vibe. Sure, yeah. Which I don't I don't love that kind of vibe. I don't want to be on the edge of my seat. I just want to relax. Right, yeah. You don't want to be stressed out. Man. So anyway, that's um that's that. But let's let's check our mail. Mailbag. Let's check our mailbag. We got any Instagram messages. We're gonna start with the Instagram mailbag. Instagram. Here we go. That's like um it's a social media app that people use for to post pictures. Am I right?

SPEAKER_07

You got that right. All right, so uh we get an Instagram message from Dubs, friend of the pod. An old friend of the pod. Now we're gonna have to post these pictures to RS. Oh nice. But Duob sends a picture of a pizza cone. Like a uh an ice cream cone with pepperonis and cheese on top. So uh what is but it's a fake one, but it's right, but it's the idea. So Dube says, Dear number one podcast, I recently encountered something I had never seen. Are you okay with this? It's a pizza cone. I didn't try it because I had already eaten. What are your thoughts? Are you okay with this? Does it matter that was that it was in Oaxaca City? I didn't have the pizza cone, but I did try the tetela, which was a triangle-shaped tortilla pouch stuffed with beans, uh yerba santa and queso. Magnifique. I liked it especially because it was a triangle. As pizza makers, you know you know how delicious a triangle is. What other shapes do you get excited about? Triangle is delicious, that's true. Look forward to hearing your response. All the best, Dubas. So let's take let's tackle this one at a time. Are you okay with at least the concept of a pizza cone? Yes. 100%. I'm a pretty I would I can't think of a cone that I wouldn't be okay with. I'm okay with a cone of anything.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I think it's just another form factor of the sound. Like you can, I mean, you know, it's it's never gonna replace the pizza. The iconic pizza it's just somebody, it's a gimmick of sorts. It's a gimmick. Sure it is, yeah. So we don't have to make the dough. We have these cones and we put everything in the cone. It's easier to for like to staff a place like that. Right. Is it gonna taste as good as pizza? I can't imagine it's gonna taste as good because the thing about pizza is you get the perfect, you're trying to balance that perfect bread to sauce to cheese to topping ratio.

SPEAKER_07

Right, it seems like that'd be hard to accomplish that.

SPEAKER_02

And in a cone, it's a little like when you bite on like like I'd have to try one to really give you the best thing. I mean, I think it's a fine idea, but I I think it's really hard to compete with pizza. If you want to try to compete with pizza and make a pizza candy or a pizza cone or a pizza ice cream, like go for it. But it's gonna be hard to compete. Oh, that sounds pretty good.

SPEAKER_07

I gotta say, it's gonna be hard to compete. Right. You can't really no one's gonna dethrone the the the original pizza.

SPEAKER_02

There's like a pizza right there, there's a pizza slice birdhouse right there. It's fine, it's not gonna compete. But I think it's a good idea. I mean, I think it's a decent idea. I think it's probably good in certain scenarios where you don't have a lot of space. Sure. You're trying to like it's a it's a gimmick that people will be like, oh, pizza cone. Like, yeah, let's try it. Yeah, more portable. You got a lot of you got a lot of foot traffic, pizza cone. And you got a small place, pizza cone, pizza cone.

SPEAKER_07

All day, do it. All day. Now I'm inspired. Now I feel like I want to make a pizza cone for dinner.

SPEAKER_02

I've I've actually seen, I saw that years ago on Instagram. Pizza cone. A video of somebody making pizza cones. Sure, yeah. And I thought, okay, that's good. Like they're putting the sauce and the cheese and the toppings in that cone. Is there anything better than a waffle cone though?

SPEAKER_07

I love, I mean, I I love it. There's a lot of things better than a waffle cone. I mean, just on its own. Like, forget, I mean, of course, you fill it with ice cream or pizza, even better. Now, you know, now you're really in business, but just the cone itself is just so.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Was there any other question we have to answer on there?

SPEAKER_07

Magnifique. Magnifique. Uh, okay. Uh, what other shapes do you get excited about? Uh, you know, I I like a rhomb, I get excited about a rhombus, I get excited about a parallelogram, a trapezoid. I mean, shapes are some of my favorite things in life.

SPEAKER_02

If you look straight ahead, we're looking at stained glass. Yep. And every piece of stained glass is a shape. And I I like all kinds of shapes. I don't even know what you call half of those shapes. Yeah, you call it like an irregular trapezoid. There's I love shapes. And my whole, my all my art is just uh taking shapes and connecting them to other shapes. That is true. And then I include colors. It's colors and shapes. Yeah. And so I'm I'm I really like all kinds of shapes, but I can't tell you that like like I like I love the shapes up in that one. Would you say you get excited about those? I get excited about those shapes, but I don't know. I don't know what uh why does Oh that's interesting.

SPEAKER_07

I thought those were different colors, and those look like the same color. But the tri as far as shapes go, I feel like the triangle kind of reigns supreme, right? Of all I feel like the No more than the circle? Yeah, the triangle is the undisputed sovereign monarch of shapes. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

That's you can fit them together. You can't do that with circles as much.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, that's true. They won't they don't they don't interface that as cleanly. They're triangles. You can yeah, triangle all day all day, yeah. The triangle is the undisputed uh sovereign of the shape kingdom, in my opinion. Okay. I agree. We agree on that. Well, anyway, we're actually I'm gonna see Dubs next week. Were there any other questions to answer? No, I think that's it. Okay, I think that's it. So let me uh let me open up the email program. This is the mailbag, which we famously do first on the episode. Okay, it looks like we got some wow we got some mail. It looks like we got quite a bit of mail. Oh, geez. I mean, half of it's probably junk, but let's let's see anyway. Let's go to the bottom. All right. First in, first out. Satchel Ray. Sending a screenshot. Oh, guess what? It's a screenshot of the very Instagram message that we just read.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, because I didn't know if you saw it, and I was like, oh yeah, yeah. I wanted to remember.

SPEAKER_07

I was like, I'm not gonna remember the turns out turns out we remembered the old-fashioned way, so we don't need to. Um, so Buzz Cry, that's Joe. What are they congratulating us for? Uh your podcast has 10,000 downloads. Not bad. What? Wow, not bad. 10,000? Yeah, it's pretty respectful. We've been around for about 10 years. Right. You would hope we would get 10,000. 10,000's good. Quite a milestone. Quite a milestone. All right, now here we go. Now we're getting down to business. Wayne? Wayne. Oh no. Wayne. All right, he's back. I love it. You're about to get roasted by Wayne. This is my favorite segment of the podcast. All right, Wayne says Gator claimed his cats only eat grass when they're free ranging outside.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god. We're back to the cat.

SPEAKER_07

Free ranging cats. Uh, felines eat grass to induce regurgitation of indigestible bones and feathers. Okay, check mate. He got you. Did you say check mate? No, I said check mate.

SPEAKER_02

Let me first of all clarify when I said they grass. Let me first of all clarify a couple things. Number one, my old cat, Cupid, Cupid. The black one, right? She hardly ever leaves the house. Right. She goes, I mean, she's out sometimes. She doesn't leave the like she doesn't leave like the house.

SPEAKER_07

She stays close, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I've never seen her eat grass. Right. I will say she caught something when she was younger. Okay. She did keep cat. I mean, just uh just get it all out there. She did, I think one time catch a bird. Yeah. One bird, okay? One bird. One bird. One bird. I feel like one bird is re you know, for a cat. And I never saw her eat grass. Okay. All right. The other cat, the dumb one, I have another cat who's dumb. He has he has wobbly kitten disease, where he was messed up in the he didn't, he was he was born in a in a in a house that was a meth lab, and he was born to a stray mother, and the mother and all the babies died, and he's the only one that lived. Calvin. Calvin. He never got into good nutrition. The mother wasn't on any kind of prenatal vitamins. The stray cat. And he he he just didn't turn out like he did he did his best, but he just has a disease or whatever. Right. So he doesn't can't use the cat door. He once in a while he can use it. Right. And he can't catch any, he can't climb a tree. He can't jump up on the cat. He can barely walk.

SPEAKER_07

That's not true, but he can walk.

SPEAKER_02

He can walk, but he can't like jump on things. He can't climb things. He has motors. He can't jump on a table. He has a motor problem. He's the one that I've seen at least twice, like putting his mouth on some grass, chewing on it for a minute, and then walking away. Right. Just to be clear, he's not just eating grass, and he's certainly never caught so much as a roly-poly. Okay? Because he's just now he'll go out there. I will I have seen him try to uh it does seem like he tried to face off with a, you know, I told you about this, the uh alligator? No. Um the lizard. No, um uh uh why can't I think of the name? A possum. Seemed like he tried to face off with a possum one time and there was some hissing going on, and then the possum and him ran off in different directions. Yeah, it didn't didn't didn't escalate. That would have been good digging up everything. But uh, but no, and and and so if he was trying to regurgitate bones, that would be interesting. But anyway, all right, so yeah, maybe it's checkmate. All right, whatever. Like, maybe my cat eating grass two times or at least chewing on. Like, I was just trying to make the point like different. Not eating animals, but it's okay. Like we can agree to disagree. Sure. We have to agree to disagree. Sure. That's and that's probably the most um we agree to disagree. I'm just glad Wayne's still listening. If Wayne wants to write in and give me a hard time about my non-native um, you know, plants, you know, uh the Lantana? Right, you'll take it. I mean, I love the Lantana. Butterflies everywhere. Bring bring it on. Come on, let's talk about it.

SPEAKER_07

Talk about Lantana. Let's engage in a civil debate about the benefits and drawbacks. Let's not.

SPEAKER_02

Let's not. I do move all the lantana to one area and it's really looking really quite pretty over there. But you know, I'm gonna take a picture of some Lantana. Right. He's gonna drive him crazy.

SPEAKER_07

He won't ever see the picture. I can text it to him. Right, yeah. You should you should go out of your way to uh antagonize him.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. No. No, I don't want to do that.

SPEAKER_07

Look how good this Lantana's looking.

SPEAKER_02

No, he I don't want to do that. He's gonna always win. He's always gonna have a better, more pure argument. Oh, don't let cats outside, don't plan anything wrong. That is true. Like you know, don't use toilet paper when you go to the bathroom.

SPEAKER_07

Well, I don't know about that, but yeah. All right, we got a second email from Wayne.

SPEAKER_11

Okay.

SPEAKER_07

Subject line Denver. Denver. Now this, I love this, right? Wayne is writing in Subject Line Denver. This email is addressed to Donkey. Wayne is communicating with uh Donkey who's gonna have to explain that. Well, he was featured on last week's episode. Oh, donkey, right, from last week, right? Right. So obviously Wayne listened to that episode and wants to respond to something that Donkey said. Okay. All right, so I told him that's just a placeholder. He doesn't really like that nickname. Right. So so when we say Donkey, we'll always point out, well, that's that's not a permanent nickname. That's a placeholder nickname. So Donkey, nicknamed to be named later. The Donkey, we know who we're talking about. Right. Because um because of last week's episode about the World Cup. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

All right, Wayne says, Donkey. It's a clickable crumb trail of inside references to encourage engagement.

SPEAKER_02

I think he's talking about the hashtag. Donkey asks, what is a hashtag? Right, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

It's a clickable crumb trail of inside references to encourage engagement. I was struggling so hard to define that. And we didn't know how to remember. And in one sentence, he says more clearly and more concisely.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I don't you think? Because that better uses AI all the time.

unknown

Yeah, well.

SPEAKER_02

That's the thing. That's the thing about Wayne. He's always using AI. And he's just and he's and he's and he's mad about the cats, but then he's using AI. Uh all right. Clickable trail. Chrome Chrome trail. Okay, that's good for hashtag.

SPEAKER_07

Hashtag is a clickable chrome trail to of inside references to encourage engagement. Okay, encourage engagement. 100% agree. Really good. That's what I meant to say. That's what I meant to say, but I gotta tell Donkey that. All right, here we go. Wayne continues. It's related to a discussion in a previous episode that only dedicated listeners might get also knowing Gator will have no idea or guess wrong, and that's funny to me. Thankfully, Sliceberg steps in to explain, mostly. Exactly. It's but he but he again, he's got it out for me. Right, of course. It's poking at the host for their constant Instagram references that mean nothing to the listeners who do not do social media. Okay, we go.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, now we're getting rested for Instagram. But he makes a good point.

SPEAKER_07

He's right.

SPEAKER_02

How many listeners don't have Instagram? Uh Wayne. There might be a couple.

SPEAKER_07

I bet there are. I bet does Oklahoma Bro have Instagram? You know what we should do? We should just talk a lot more about our Instagram page. Oh, I could do that all day. Yeah, let's talk about Instagram. Well, I uh during lunch, I I at least two or three times said to you, Oh, this guy I follow on Instagram. It comes up a lot. It comes up.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I like the fact that it's owned by Mark Zuckerberg. You love that. I love Mark Zuckerberg. So, okay, so yeah, no, so anytime, just pause and fast forward. Just fast forward anytime we talk about Instagram. What do you think? Can we just if we if we start talking about Instagram?

SPEAKER_07

Right, just say you can just hit the forward button. Hit that like fit skip ahead 15 seconds button button.

SPEAKER_02

And then if we're still talking about it, skip ahead again.

SPEAKER_07

I'm sure he's already doing that. Yeah, yeah. All right, we got an email from Buzz Sprout. Congratulations on publishing the first episode of SS88. You want to explain to the donkey to the dear listeners what SS88 is?

SPEAKER_02

Um, so yeah. Uh went to see my buddy Steve in California who's makes he makes moves, he makes shows. He made he films and edits, uh puts together shows. And right now he's working on a show called Sound Ummakers. Soundmakers. Soundmakers. Right. And the first, the pilot episode is what he's working on, which is about people making guitars, Gibson guitars, and he went to Nashville. The iconic Gibson guitar. He goes to Nashville, he films for like a week, all these people make guitars, then he puts together a pilot episode, then he tries to sell it. Uh-huh. And he's trying to, I think they're going to try to sell it to Hulu or Netflix. Sure. And then if they if they take it, they're going to say they're going to have to make one on, they're going to make one on drums, maybe on trombones. I don't know what all instruments they're going to make them on. But what he does is he makes movies. So he he has a um office there in California, Ohio, which is a fancy little town above about an hour north in of LA. And he sits there with the hundreds of hours, dozens of hours of film, and just like watches them and then edits it down, you know? Right. He edits. So when but he does that all day, and he's just not, he's not a podcast guy, you know? Right. So when when I said, Hey, I want to make this podcast, and we went out there and we put our phones down on the table, and then I pushed record, and then we're making the podcast. Right. He was, and then when we were done, and he was he was just kind of amazed. Like, we didn't edit, we didn't listen back, we didn't have any sound design. We just it is amazing. You know, he was just like, That's like because everything with him has to be planned out, and it's like takes forever. Right. He couldn't quite uh grasp it. He's like, that was the first podcast he's ever been on. First podcast he even listened to. He's never listened to a podcast. So he was he was just kind of excited. He's like, this is so fun. And then the next day, he's like, We should make a podcast. S. Well like S and S, Sass and Steve. He's like, it could just be like five minutes, you know. And so then he goes, We'll do it at eight o'clock in the morning. And then he said, I know, eight minutes at 8 a.m. And I'm like, Pacific time? And he's like, Yeah, Pacific time. So SS, Stephen Satchel, 88 at 8 a.m. eight minutes at 8 a.m. Pacific. Pacific daylight time. Pacific time. So I said, well, that works out good for me because at 8 a.m. it's 11.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_02

It's 11 in Florida. Yeah, it's three hours different hours over there. And so I said, okay. And he said, Yeah, we'll do that. I'm like, okay, well, then lucky for him, my new account with Buzz Sprout has 15 hours and five podcasts I can do. And you're only using two, right? I mean, well, I got two podcasts, it'd be three podcasts, and I'm not using the 15 hours, so I'm like, hey, I could do that. Like, I have the pot potenti I have the ability to do that. He goes, okay, let's do it. So the next day I get up and I hit play, I hit record, and we're recording for eight minutes. And then and then the next day I'm still there, I get up and I record for eight minutes. And we just whatever, we're just talking, right? Well, the f after the first day, he listens back to it right away. And he's like, Yeah, this is great. Okay. Later on in the day, he listens to it again. I'm like, bro, like we've listened to it already. What are you doing? We did it, then we'd have to. I mean, we listened to ours back in the beginning. Right. Yeah, right. And so, but we I don't know, we listened twice, but it's only eight minutes. Yeah. So then I'm like, bro. So then he he listened, and then he sends it out to everybody he knows, which is like five people. Yeah. So he sends it out to all these people that he knows. He's texts them, like, look at my new podcast, right? That's that's 88. And and so then he um, so then the next day I did it again, and I said, Look, man, I'm leaving, I'm leaving town. Like, you're gonna have to call me and you're gonna have to record it on your phone.

SPEAKER_07

We're doing this on the phone.

SPEAKER_02

He has an iPhone and he's always making fun of my phone, a toy phone, because it's not an iPhone. But the iPhone, the new iPhones, you can actually record a con uh a telephone call. Cool. We can't do that yet on mine. No, we haven't figured that out. We don't have the technology. I said, Well, if you're gonna do this, you're gonna have to record it, you're gonna have to post it. I'll give you my credentials. You go on there and you post it. Right. So he's because every five minutes during the day, he's asking me, like, how many, how many listens do we got? How many downloads? How many downloads? You're just saying go look yourself. Dude, you gotta give the app and look, he said, my my phone's full. I can't do it right now. I said, dude, you're gonna- I'm not gonna tell you every five minutes that we have like we had two and now we have three. I mean, come on. And then like later he's like, How many, how many downloads? I'm like, four? I don't know. Like, it's get your own app. So now he has the app. Right, he's in charge of that. He can like, he can um, he can, he can figure out, he can look all day how many downloads. So he's it so then he called me the first day when I got back. Sure enough, he called me and we tried it out and it worked, and then he called me again today, and I think that's all it's been like four or five, like maybe four episodes. It looked like I saw four on me. One, two, three, four. There's five. There's five episodes. So we've been doing it for five days, and uh I told him, like, if you do this, we're gonna you're gonna have to call me every day for the rest of your life. Right, once you're no going back now. Yeah, we're not going back. So I don't know if it's if gonna work out because when you do a podcast like that, you have to figure out do you have any chemistry? Do you have anything to say? Sure, yeah. You know, we get together once a week. It's great, got plenty to talk about. Every day, I don't know. So anybody who's interested in SS88, that's my new podcast, right? Eight minutes every day, according to where you look at what time it is at eight in Los Angeles, eight in the morning, and it's gonna come out shortly after that. Right. Um, eight minutes long. It's gonna be eight minutes long, it's only gonna be eight minutes long. And if you want to follow that, I would at this point go back to the beginning and because it's serialized, like this one. It's kind of serialized. Like you have to kind of know what's going on. Right, you'll have no idea. It'll have no idea what's happening if you don't start at the beginning. It's gonna build every day. So, anyway, that's my plug for my new podcast. And um it's it's there's no ads. And there's and there's of course not. There's really no um no ads, and there's really no no structure. No rules, no rules. Yeah, it's it's kind of like this podcast, but not as good. Shorter. All right, all right, what else? S88.

SPEAKER_07

Find it wherever you listen to podcasts. This is the email I was waiting for. Oh, okay, good. From Jared. Jared. Now, I didn't I don't think I weighed in on this when you were talking about Scrabble and she played theirs. Yeah, theirs. T-H-E-R-E-F. Now I know I heard what you said, you looked it up, and it technically it's a count. And that is not a word. Thank you. That is not that's a thank you.

SPEAKER_02

I was so mad, and we and that's why we asked Jared's.

SPEAKER_07

Right, but I'm about to open his email, we're gonna see what he says. But I am telling you, theirs with no apostrophe is not a word.

SPEAKER_02

I don't like, I don't, I, and I challenged her, and I lost that game. I was I was incredulous. You know, another word she used, did I even say at that time was re-dive. R-E-D-Y-E. That one we dyed it, we're gonna re-dye it. That one is not a word.

SPEAKER_07

It's not a word though, but I didn't challenge it. Right. Well, that one you should have challenged. I should have challenged that one, but not theirs. That's interesting, because that re-dye, I would say, oh, that's a little cheap. You stick re on the front, whatever. But theirs is not a word. How do you use theirs in a sentence? You don't, because it's not possible. But maybe Jared does. Well, we're about to find out. Jared will know. And matter of fact, that's the subject line of his email, theirs. With no apostrophe. Right. All right, so I hope that this is gonna bring some clarity because I have not looked this up. All right, so Jared starts us off with a quote. So here we go. Quote In the space field lie innumerable other theirs that ha now it's it's theirs to spell the way that you think with no apostrophe. Other theirs that have never been here. Jay In the space field? In the space field, hyphenized space field. In the space field? Jay Martineau, Study of Religion, Volume 3. So this was a this was he's basically uh offering a uh uh a website, a quote of of of a of of a uh documented time where this word has been used. I'm assuming that right now. All right, sorry.

SPEAKER_02

But I don't even understand the sentence still.

SPEAKER_07

Well, it doesn't make sense because it uh it should have been a good thing. In the space field, which isn't even a real word. Lie enumeral Yay, well you can't play that in a scrabble. Uh there is so Derek claims that theirs is the plural noun form of their. Two, a particular place or position at a distance. But there's word that's that's this is absurd, right? Because there's words that mean that already. So you say places and you say positions, you don't say theirs. I I'm gonna this I'm gonna do that.

SPEAKER_02

But you're but you're gonna but you're gonna um doubt Jared. You're not giving really any of his personal opinions on the word, right? Which is what we really want. He's basically just saying, yeah, but if you look to the Let me read this. Now he's giving an example of of the use of In the space field lie innumerable other theirs that have never been here.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, but that places? That's that's what it should say. In the space field lie innumerable places that have not been here. That's what it should say.

SPEAKER_02

But they're not saying places because place probably refers to a specific place. And right? And theirs is the is just a there, just a general like space-time for my. It's not a word. There, noun. A point.

SPEAKER_11

Uh I don't buy it.

SPEAKER_02

I don't buy it. And I and I want to use it in, I don't want him to quote. I want him to make his own sentence that that I can understand.

SPEAKER_07

I don't want to quote from 1800s. Well, you know what? You're gonna have he's gonna have trouble doing that. Yeah, because it's not a word. It's not a word.

SPEAKER_02

It's not he can't even do that. He can he can he can look up online how to find a quote from 1800s.

SPEAKER_07

AI couldn't even do it because it's not possible. No, nobody can do it. No, no, not even Wayne. It's not a word, not a word. No, I don't care what the Scrabble dictionary says.

SPEAKER_02

I don't care what Jared says. I'm mad at Jared now. Because Jared's sticking with Brianna and then and saying that she should win. And I mean, honestly, the hard the hard truth is that it was in the damn book. So then that means that you gotta you gotta go by the book.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah and you can't just be a baby. So when do you ch in Scrabble? When you challenge somebody, uh what's the what's the um what do you do you lose a turn or something if you do it?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and so if I challenge her and then I'm wrong, then I'd lose my turn. Right. And if she's and if and if she if she's wrong, then she has to take those words and she loses that turn. Okay. The problem is when you're trying to go around and get points, every time you get a turn matters. I might get 15 points, she might get 20. Then I gotta get 20, and then you know, you gotta keep up. And if you lose a whole turn, you're zero, big, big goose egg. Goose a yeah, you're done. You're you're I lost. I lost that game. But I I every time I've ever challenged somebody, I've lost. And I and I'm mad about it. Redy. I don't want to talk about re-dyes. Redies. No, it's just re-dy, redirect singular. Right. I mean, I can say you're gonna die that. Oh, I need to re-dye it. Yeah, that's a word. But it wasn't a word in the book. But I only looked it up later because I didn't think it was, and I was scared to challenge her because, like, anyway. I mean, if you want to cheat by putting in theirs, like I won't does she know that that was like I didn't never even remember if she even knew that was a real word, or if she would just she probably got triple word score on that too. I don't she got she did get some, she would always get in triple word score. Made me so I'm never playing with her again.

SPEAKER_07

All right, here we go. Bus sprout weekly update, 487 downloads. Oh, nice! Because we had like three episodes last week. Sashcast seven, blah, blah. Congratulations, your podcast buzz, create your spotlight episode, blah, blah, blah. Okay, here we go. Now we're getting down to the real, to the real uh business. Real male? Emmy Lou. Customer service part one. Enjoy. So we got of uh characteristically, we got a field recording from Emmy Lou. Uh we're gonna play. Let's see what else you want to do. Let's well, let's see what else we got before we but that has. Remember, we she was saying I'm having trouble issues at work with customers, and she asked you for your advice. Remember this? This was probably like two episodes ago. Oh, so that's what she's referring to. Right, right. You know, she's like, remember, she said, Oh, I have this one woman that I don't know, I can't remember. Right. What should I do about this? So she must be like she must be responding to that. Yeah. Well, and we'll listen to it, but let's see what else we got. All right, we got another team. This is the teams call. Okay. She says this is short. This is a short one. Short one. All right. All right, here we go. We get an email from Eleanor. Okay. Eleanor says, Hey Pod pals, I worked really hard to take a picture of the twins in the onesies, but they won't sit still. Paul wasn't.

SPEAKER_02

I gave them the wrong size, too.

SPEAKER_07

I was supposed to give him 12 months, I gave 24 months. Oh, they grow into it. Uh, we might try again when Paul is around. Sounds it that sounds like that's a two-person job to get the twins in the onesie and then pick the picture. Right. Definitely a two-person job. They're stormy. Right. I had to go to the eye doctor today to get my vision checked. I have vision insurance for my employer, but I still had to pay $139 out of pocket. I haven't even bought my contacts yet. That will probably be like $200 more out of pocket. You know what? If it's $200, you'll be lucky. That's that's what I'm gonna say about that. Uh, what do I have to pay? Why do I have to pay so much money just to be able to see? Any thoughts, Sliceberg? Eleanor. Ooh. Right. And she did send pictures of the twins. But are they in there? What are they wearing? Oh, I can't see. It's taking a minute to load here.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, they're wearing the wearing the stats as onesie. That's adorable. Look at that. I can't, it does look like it fits them all right, actually. I mean, I'm sure they're like, see how they're big on them? It's like you could cut, you could actually cut them. You could cut them around the and you could make them a little baggy t-shirt if you wanted to.

SPEAKER_07

Right. Now, the the first thought I have about this is like now now I'm I'm 48. I'm jaded, I'm not naive and dumb anymore like I used to be. But when I was younger and dumber, I thought that insurance, I thought what insurance meant. The idea was you would pay money every month, you know, in the form of your premium. That way, when you eventually did have to go to the doctor, you would have already paid for it ahead of time. I thought that's the way that's what I thought the definition of insurance was. The idea is we're it's good, because everyone knows going to the doctor, any any type of medical cost is outrageously expensive. Everybody knows this. So I said, Oh, well, what a what a great concept. What a what a helpful thing. You have insurance, so the idea is you don't get hit with like, you know, a $50,000 bill all at once. You you paid that $50,000, but over the course of you know years of paying premiums, that's not what insurance is. Insurance is a for-profit business venture. So that's why they're gonna make you pay. Like it doesn't matter. You can they're gonna make money off you. They're gonna make money off you. So and they can and they can make up whatever policies and rules they want. So if they want to say you're gonna pay us $800 a month in premiums, and then when you've got to go to the eye doctor, it's gonna be a hundred, they can do that. No one's no one stops them, right? And and and they have you buy the balls because you want to be able to see, right? I don't know. Do you want to be able to see? Well, she's gonna be able to do it.

SPEAKER_10

She doesn't have balls. I mean, she might, but like I don't know.

SPEAKER_07

Figurative balls. So it's just like that's not insurance. So to call that insurance is a misnomer. That's not insurance. Or at least what I thought stupidly, that's what I thought insurance meant. That's not what insurance means. Insurance is is uh they they are gonna maximize their profits. They are going to try to reach their quarterly revenue goal above all else, including, especially including your health and well-being. They did not, they do, they don't give a shit about that. The only thing they care about is the number that's printed on the paper. Did they reach their quarterly revenue goal? And the answer is yes or no. And they and they base their prices and their policies only on that. Only on that. So yeah, you so you want parents. I told you, it's always there. It's always good. I do a good job of concealing it, but Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I'm sorry that you gotta do that, but you know, like the problem that I the the way that I look at it, my perspective is I've always been a real I've always hated insurance. Like that's a scam I'm not involved in, right? Absolutely a scam, yes. I'm not gonna get involved in that scam. Absolutely a scam. But as I got older, I realized to some degree you have to play the game, right? Well, to every degree you have to play the game.

SPEAKER_07

So, well, not to every degree. Well, how do you get out of it? You say all the time.

SPEAKER_02

Well, if you own a house and you don't want to pay insurance for it, you don't have to. Now, if you have to mortgage payment, you have to, but if you don't have insurance, you don't want to. Now, I always thought like I would rather just save, take the money I would put in insurance, put it in the bank, and then if I need to go to the doctor, go to the doctor. The problem with that theory that I learned is that you pay two or three times as much if you don't have insurance, they're gonna charge you a different price than they would charge insurance. But in the long run, you'll come out ahead. That's what I think. Well, I don't know, according to what kind of problems you have. So if you have cancer or something goes wrong, you're never gonna be caught up. But you could tell them I don't have any money, you don't I mean that's the thing. Like, like Sean had those those uh kidney stones, right? He doesn't have So he went in and they looked at how much it costs, how much he makes. Guess what? He didn't have pain items. Right. So that was a good call on his side.

SPEAKER_07

Right? So this is what I've always said. The insurance company is betting that they're gonna collect more money from you than they will have to pay on your behalf. And guess what? I'm gonna make that same bet. Except the other way around. Do you have insurance? What type of insurance are you saying? Health insurance. I do I do have health insurance, technically. It is complete, it's completely useless. It pays for nothing. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I I think that that it is kind of a broken systems because if you don't have it and they're like, oh, well, this this procedure is gonna cost you ten thousand dollars without insurance. But if you have insurance, it's we we only charge $3,000 to the and then insurance company. And then an insurance company only charges me $2,000 or something, right? And they cover $1,500, which I whatever. So there's a it's a broken system, but what happened to me is I got to the point where it was so frustrating that I just decided, well, I'm just gonna asquiesce. Acquiesce. I'm gonna acquiesce. Right? I'm just gonna pay the insurance, I'm gonna deal with the bullshit, and I'm just gonna I'm not gonna and like so like at the beach, at the beach house, right? That house is now paid off. Nice. I don't the insurance company said, hey, um you need new water heaters because you those water heaters are 15 years old. Right. Well, the water heaters hardly ever get used. There's two of them, small ones, because we're not there all the time. And so when you and they were brand new 15 years ago. So I look at the water heaters, they're not rusty, they look fine, and it's like, I'm not getting new water heaters. They're trying to drop me because I'm in Florida on the near the beach and they don't want to. So I said, I'm not getting new water heaters. I said, All right, we'll see you later. I'm like, okay, so I have no insurance on that house. You just made me so happy. I have no insurance. I love that. I love that. Then what I did do actually now that I think about it, is because I have rental houses and stuff, and I I did have to go and get an umbrella insurance policy that if somebody gets hurt and they want to sue me.

SPEAKER_07

It's like a liability insurance. It's a liability insurance. That's not true. I had to go get a license. Right. That's true.

SPEAKER_02

If somebody gets hurt and they want to sue me, I need some way to cover it. That's fine.

SPEAKER_07

My whole restaurant house is I don't I don't object to that as much as I object to like the property insurance. Like that's that's that's the absolute thing. Right.

SPEAKER_02

Well, then they're gonna cover you unless it's a not water, and not hurricanes, exactly.

SPEAKER_07

And not wind, which is laughable in Florida, because of course like, oh, it doesn't cover wind or or water damage. It's like literally the only thing that's gonna happen in Florida. So it's like that's you operating a for-profit company.

SPEAKER_02

I think that basically what happened for me is I just came to terms and was like I'm not gonna let this run take my joy. Steal my joy. You know, I'm not gonna let it steal my joy. I'm not gonna let it steal my joy. A shining example. I just I have too much, I have I mean, I'm I'm lucky, I have a good job, I make good money, like I spend the money. Like, you know what? Like taxes, another thing people could get mad about, right? You gotta pay taxes. And the thing that's frustrating about taxes, you got rich guys that pay no taxes, and you got everybody else that pays a lot of taxes, right? Unbelievable. I pay a lot of taxes. Yeah, it doesn't bother me. It's fine because as long as there's nothing. I don't want to roads, it's going to fireman. Sign me up. Sign me up. I don't get mad about it. Just like that, I don't get mad about the insurance. It may be all broken, and I every time we may get into something, I'll be like, that's that sucks. That's broken. I mean, Caroline had that breast cancer this year, and it was and and the insurance. We pay a lot of insurance. We pay a shit ton of insurance for me and her and our daughter. And so we got to the and then they have this like, I think it's a $10,000 deductible. Oh, yeah. So, but you gotta pay all these, like, you gotta pay all these fees, like uh, what do you call it? Uh when you go in and you gotta you gotta pay even though you're gonna copay. Copays. Copays, right? Copays, uh medicine, whatever it is. So then and then, you know, if it's a $20,000 surgery, oh, you only have to pay $3,000 or whatever. Share the cost. So at what so now she has early she got it. Luckily for her, this all happened at the beginning of the year, she's met her deductibles. So everything is free now. All of her medicine, her her health care. And I say free, and you know I don't mean free. We paid a shit ton. But the point is, like, everything that she gets done, she's going to she's going to p physical therapy today, no cost. She's got like she gets medicine, no cost. And I'm like, whatever you need to do in your body, do it now. Go get a scan of your entire body. Go get whatever you need. Because it's all free right now. It's free because free air quotes.

SPEAKER_07

It certainly isn't free.

SPEAKER_02

But anyway, I know. It sucks. And you know, but if you think about the big picture, 400 bucks for glasses or contacts or whatever. It's like, you know, what are you gonna do? What are you gonna do?

SPEAKER_07

Nothing because that's what I'm saying. They have to buy the figure of balls because like you have to be able to think. Like you can't, like you what are you gonna do? Like walk around like a black.

SPEAKER_02

What you can do is you cannot be uh you cannot let it rob you of joy. You cannot let it steal your joy. Eleanor, my view is don't let it steal your joy. It's just money. It's just money. It's just money. We're in a broken system. The system is quite corrupt. The only best option we have is to move to another country because any country you choose is gonna have um uh uh healthcare.

SPEAKER_07

Any free healthcare, any country you choose is gonna have free healthcare and stuff. Right. Free, right. Again, not free. But that's okay. I want I want my tax dollars to go to healthcare. That's what I want. You know what I mean? Like, I I I don't want it to be like other people's healthcare too. Right, that's what I'm saying. Like, I'm I I think that's the best possible system. We'll all pay into it. There's no other way to do it. Yeah, but you sound like a socialist. Is that the root is that the right one? Triggering me right now. Communist? Triggering me.

SPEAKER_02

I I believe in it too, don't get me wrong. I would I would much rather have uh healthcare for all. All right. Did we answer her question? I hope so.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, now this is funny. The Eleanor's email that we just read about the the uh iDoctor, it didn't it did not have a subject line. Okay. And I noticed that. I said, that's rude. I feel like she would always put a subject line. The next email she writes, Eleanor writes, the subject of the email is no subject. And she says, I didn't mean to send my previous email without a subject line, but AI hijacked my phone or something. I couldn't enter any text in the subject line. Which is funny because the subject of the next email is no subject. So she wrote an email about the absence of the subject.

SPEAKER_02

When I leave the subject out, which I've done from time to time, it seems like it automatically writes no subject.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, or it does. But it's in parentheses. That's the difference. One is in parentheses, that's the one where she couldn't enter it. And she did enter it with capital N and no parentheses. Right. Because that's she actually typed that in.

SPEAKER_02

Well, that's good. I'm glad that we um that we got that cleared up. Sorry about AI hijacking you. But yeah, that's um, is there any more mail? That's it? That's it. That's it.

SPEAKER_07

That's those are pretty decent.

SPEAKER_02

Well, let's let's let's look how long the um teams call and the other.

SPEAKER_07

Let's decide if we're gonna take a look at play those as bonuses or what? Alright, so the teams call. Uh Emily Lu says it's a short one. Which means three minutes and twenty-three seconds. All right, see what the other one is. The other one, which is has to do with this customer service. Yeah. That one is four minutes, 28 seconds.

SPEAKER_02

All right, what are we gonna do? We got about seven or eight minutes left. What do you think? Well, I think that we should go somewhere where it's like somewhere quiet and cool. Like maybe upstairs. Okay. That's a good idea. Because it's so hot in this car. And I like heat, but I need the air movement a little bit or something. I'm afraid if we go back there. I'm afraid if we go back there, the fans are gonna be loud. Yeah.

SPEAKER_09

Let's just go inside.

SPEAKER_02

All right, yeah, let's go ahead and play them, man. Let's go ahead and give them a really give him a really bang up episode this time. I mean, I've been out of town.

SPEAKER_03

It is bang up.

SPEAKER_02

You know?

SPEAKER_07

It is bang up, isn't it?

SPEAKER_02

It was a bang up episode, man. We got into it, didn't we?

SPEAKER_07

Big time. Big time. I'm still I still have all that anger seeking.

SPEAKER_02

I just I know I'm gonna try. That's why I think we need to keep going so that we can end on a little bit of a cleaner note.

SPEAKER_07

Oh man, I'm full. I'm really full. Yeah, I was looking forward to Caribbean spice, but I was too actually.

SPEAKER_02

I was looking forward to it too, but I'm glad they're taking a vacation.

SPEAKER_07

You know what? That's I was just about to say I feel like it's uh support.

SPEAKER_09

When we when we o when we first opened, I would close for a week every summer.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah.

SPEAKER_09

Uh for a first few years.

SPEAKER_11

I love that.

SPEAKER_09

Because again, I want to break and I don't want to have to be here and I don't want to leave it.

SPEAKER_02

I don't want to leave people here.

SPEAKER_10

Well, that's like a true break running it. That's like a true break, you know, actually close. Yeah. It's like a true break.

SPEAKER_09

Well, nowadays though, I can take a true break and it runs good because you're here. Because you're here, which is cool.

SPEAKER_08

We can do that.

SPEAKER_09

All right, this is good. This is better. All right.

SPEAKER_08

Set it up right there. For satchel. Somebody's giving me a chance. I got the thing running. Right in here. I'm gonna give it a chair. There, there.

SPEAKER_07

All right, so this is gonna be Emmy's uh field recording about customer service. Here we go.

SPEAKER_08

Wait, ready? I was just gonna say we're we're we're we're in the satchel's uh we're in the second story. There's a little employees-only area.

SPEAKER_07

Right, and we are we're employees, so we're allowed to be here.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

And it's boxes everywhere because it's a storage room. Sure is, yeah. We're in a storage room. Okay. That's where we keep the pizza bags, too. All right, here we go.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, guys, I have some more details about the customers that have been giving me issues. Also, say hi. Hello. I told them about how it's used on your head in Montana.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, here we're gonna have to.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, these two people. Also, management management, and we're gonna be able to do that. I'm making a pizza right now. I'm making uh ricotta, uh, parmesan and caper pizza. We'll see. It looks like it's just the ricotta sliding off. Anyway, that's my update. Actually, I'm just gonna pause this. I might restart it later.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, you get an A plus for the capers on the pizza, in my opinion. Oh, I was gonna say uh I know you don't like Yeah, I know I knew you were gonna you were gonna object to that, but not me. I'm I'm 100% pro-Caper.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, wh when you're dealing with people like that in a public pool. I think you just gotta be straight up. You know, you're probably like, hey, well, you know what? It's a public pool. I'm not, you know, I don't have all the answers. Just good luck. I mean, I don't know. I'm just I'm thinking that like somewhere between what you do and what Oklahoma bro does is the right answer. That's not what I was gonna say. I was gonna say go the Oklahoma bro route. Aaron Powell Well, uh that's what I'm basically saying, but not with all the cursing. I was gonna say fuck off, get out of here. I was gonna say more cursing. I was like, that's not enough cursing.

SPEAKER_07

No, I think you just have to be strict. You have to be honest with people. You gotta drive home the point.

SPEAKER_02

Aaron Powell No, you don't have to. You if you're that's no I think you can be I think you can be diplomatic and still let them know. Like, I can't control all the situations. Like, I'm not I can't control what everybody does. Well it's a free country, right?

SPEAKER_07

Like you you it's a public pool. Right. Exactly. It's public. And and if that includes kids who are smoking cigarettes and throwing balls at your head, then that's that's that's public. You're out in public. I mean, what like what do you want like you're not the police? What do you want me to tell you? Yeah, you can say I'm not the police. I'm not the police lady. Take it up with them, like like uh and that'll be four dollars. Because you're trying to break into a public taxpayer funded facility, which is not acceptable. All right, what else we got? I'm so angry right now. Don't with these with these people. All right, Team Scall. Here we go. Teams call Team Scall. It's a short one.

SPEAKER_05

Sorry, that's true. I started recording.

SPEAKER_04

I think it was five percent.

SPEAKER_02

All right, there you go. That's it. All right, um couple of things I'll say. I did I did put honey on my crust. Um Bojo's if I if I had to be critical, I would say that that the the crust under the pizza was too thin and they had too much cheese and toppings on it because the outer crust was thick, but you really couldn't even really pick up a slice. But it's totally different than the gluten-free pizza, right? The gluten-free pizzas were more like the ones we have. Okay. They're smaller, they're thicker, you pick up your slice, it was fine. What I'm eating is a traditional pizza, and it was a little heavy on the cheese and toppings, and so you have this big crust on the outside, but it's also really tough because we our crust is so delicious. Like our dough is really, really tasty just by itself, but then yet we add garlic butter to it, and now it's like you're getting a this big wonderful breadstick at the end of your pizza. Right. And their crust didn't have the same flavor, and the honey's fine, you get a little sweetness onto it. Yeah, I like that. But it was it was it was like it it wa it it's hard. It's it's like I'm I'm comparing it to my own crust, which is tough.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, it's a little unfair, but yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But I really think that because it's a good place for the gluten-free people, that that becomes that's a good thing in itself because now you're at least catering to those people.

SPEAKER_07

So the gluten-free pizzas will say that's like the star of the show. That's kind of like the I think it probably is.

SPEAKER_02

Now we did get pictures of the twins. We're gonna put those on our site. Do that for me or Instagram. Certainly. We're gonna talk about our Instagram some more. So if you don't like if you don't have Instagram, you should you should probably stop the podcast now. Or fast forward. No, it's not fast forward. It's like it's over, basically. I'm gonna talk about Instagram for the next 30 minutes. I would I do I hate to end on a bad note, but I sat here in this in this it's an office, quote unquote, in air quotes office, because I made it as an office when I was building it. Then my sister moved here, and I was like, oh, this will be my sister's office, who she worked in here. But I've never worked in here. Right. I don't really it's more of a storage room. And this turned into a storage room. So we're in the storage room, lots of extra pint glasses, wine glasses, silverware, whatever you need, it's in here. And this is the new spot. It used to be we kept the pizza bags downstairs, but then they told us we had to move them. I want to actually build a shelf over this window for the bags. For the bags. It's my idea. That'd be good. But um, it's you know, I gotta get, I gotta, it's just I gotta put it on my list. But the I want to go ahead since we we we've since we've covered Sliceberg's like major pet peeve and and and rage under the surface today. I want to go ahead and get into mine real quick. Even at the end, just I want to cover it because while I'm sitting here in the storage room, it came to me. I realized something that I'm really mad about, and I want to share it with the world because then I won't be as mad. Well, this is the perfect forum for that. We have ten pizza bags, right? And we use them for take out, you know, if we get a catering, right? You put like three, is it three or four? You could fit well five.

SPEAKER_07

Five fit comfortably, but you can fit six.

SPEAKER_02

Five uh sixes. Really? You can zip it up with six. Absolutely. But one of them's gotta be a medium. No, all large.

SPEAKER_07

I could fit six larges in there, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Anyway, we've got these pizza bags when we do a catering, you might have ten, twenty pizzas delivery, whatever, and this is our delivery guy right here. Right, because I'm kind of like an expert. He's an expert. But we have ten bags. Guess what? I'm looking at four bags, right? You're doing you're doing some quick math. No, this happens all the time. Like, where are the other six bags? You don't have them, certainly not. No, you know who probably has two or three in his car?

SPEAKER_07

Zach.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. Zach has some in his car, and if we need them, we gotta go cunt down Zach. Do you think Gracie has them in her car? As far as I'm gonna go.

SPEAKER_07

There's a catering tonight. As far as I know, uh we're the only three people that deliver pizza. So it's gotta be if I don't have them. And it's not you. If I don't have them, which I don't.

SPEAKER_02

That drives me crazy. Now, looking at the bags right now and seeing that they're busting at the seams a little bit, and they are old. Maybe I just buy new bags and I put tracking devices on them. There you go. On each one. There you go. Well, how do you feel about that? But that that might I mean I could spend a lot of money. That'll solve it. But it would solve my problem. I think we bought some recently for some uh keys. I think did we buy it was maybe a four-pack. I mean, I'd have to buy a lot of tracking devices. Right. But I certainly solved the problem. It would make me feel better. Right. I hate that that that I mean they cost 50 bucks each. What what what are people doing? Like what what maybe they're selling them on the black market. I don't I think that I don't know. All right. Anyway, uh that's the trials and tribulations of owner pizza place. Yeah, yeah. What happened to the hotbags? Where's the hot bags going? Yeah, good question. Yeah. All right. Um, well, so that was uh we we we we we got into some babcocks there. The babcocks questions, the babcocks team calls. If you're not sure about the Babcocks, you should go back to season seven. Right. Or actually you have to go back even further than that to get to the original season six five or six. Whenever Emmy originally I think we need like a we need a anniversary date with the Babcocks, with Emmy. Emmy needs to give us an anniversary date.

SPEAKER_07

Right. Well, we should we'll do some research and we'll we'll find out like the first time that well we could look in the email. Emmy can tell.

SPEAKER_02

We just ask Emmy.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, yeah. When was when was the first time you uh emailed us? Or yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_02

Let's go back, figure it out.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

We ain't got time for that.

SPEAKER_07

Right. That's uh Emmy's got time.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, she's just sitting by the pool all day.

SPEAKER_07

Well, she has to deal with those disgruntled customers. He doesn't have to deal with them that much. Oklahoma bro's got to deal with deal with them. Oklahoma bros out mowing the grass. He didn't even write us this week. Uh well, he's busy. He's probably busy, you know. He's probably doing his thing. He's busy. Did he write us? I don't know. I didn't see one. Maybe he did. I don't think so. Yeah. I didn't see it in the email program.

SPEAKER_02

All right. Well, an hour and 30 minutes today. I'm gonna go look at the email email program myself.

SPEAKER_07

That picture, that was uh remember we went to Austin like five years ago? Yeah. That's when that picture. Really? It's been on there ever since, or now no, I have a it's like um it iPhone has this feature where every hour it'll like put a new photo, it'll just like randomly pick a photo. Oh. So that's this just happens to be the one that is randomly picked for this hour.

SPEAKER_02

I was thinking about the one from last week. Have we ever watched a martial arts movie or combat sport instinct already? Just someone to try you. You didn't get to respond to that one. Or maybe you did, but you're on the phone. Um yeah. So uh okay. Uh how do we wind it up? What do we say?

SPEAKER_07

Uh what what more could we possibly say that we haven't already said? Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Said it all.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. We're thinking about going to a new format for eight minutes a day. What do you think? Every day. Eight minutes. That's a good idea, actually. Yeah, we already do that now. It's called SS88. Look us up on your favorite podcast platform.

SPEAKER_07

What if we did one ask?

SPEAKER_02

Leave us a rating and review.

SPEAKER_07

Okay. Well, now when we do this podcast, you I want to say, like, for how long have we been doing this? An hour and a half. Right. So an hour and a half every day. That would be ours.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah. That would be good. That's like a Russian limball situation, isn't it? Um all right. So thanks for tuning in and uh having barbecue with us. And um we we will be talking to you again uh next week, same bat time, same bat channel. You know it. We'll be here. Number one. Number one podcast for people. Oh, yeah. Go to our Instagram, right? Leave us a rating and review. Right. Email us. Email us, whatever.

SPEAKER_07

Mail mail us.

SPEAKER_02

Mail us. All right. Oh, we don't have our instruments.

SPEAKER_07

You know why I have the um remember you said, oh, put that other recorder in your car. You have it in your car? But by the time I'm not gonna get it.

SPEAKER_02

I have a I probably have a harmonica in my car. Come on, let's go. We gotta go down there to our cars anyway. That's true. I gotta, but I can't.

SPEAKER_07

And people are cars all the way next door.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so there's one, two. Looks like there's three, four, five. So there's five here and five missing. Well, where's the other five? Oh, Zach. I bet they're in Zach's car. So it's okay. Like, they can stop listening now if they want to. They don't have to sit there. I've got a walk down.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, look at this.

SPEAKER_09

Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. I can't believe this is happening.

SPEAKER_02

We're doing our podcast, and I was just so mad about hotbags being gone, and we were blaming you for having the hotbags. We were blaming you. I'm like, I'm so mad. I'm like, where are the hot bags? He's like, I don't have them. I'm like, Zach has them.

SPEAKER_09

Zach has them, but you only have two, or you have three? I have three of them. Did you just do a delivery? Last night. Yeah, yeah. Last night. Last night. You have time. Okay.

SPEAKER_08

Well, I'm glad that you brought them back. Yeah, they didn't sit in my car for a week.

SPEAKER_09

I'm very impressed with myself.

SPEAKER_08

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_09

I was just so mad about it. I was about to text you and Graysteam. And be like, who has this? Oh my goodness. Yeah. No, I was gonna try to be nice. Like, do you guys happen to have any bags?

SPEAKER_00

Do you guys have any?

SPEAKER_09

Oh my gosh. Whose shoes are those?

SPEAKER_07

John Holman, man. Huh? John Holman, dude.

SPEAKER_09

Those are some crazy looking shoes.

SPEAKER_07

Just kidding up before it gets on that blank. I see. It's funny, I see him like at 7 a.m. every morning and I can see him walking across top. Telling his hands.

SPEAKER_09

He walked in with those bags. Isn't that funny?

SPEAKER_08

Like the timing. And I was still, and I was still, you know how mad I would have been if I would have actually turned this off and then that would have happened?

SPEAKER_02

I would have had to have a bonus episode right then and there. But no need.

SPEAKER_07

No need.

SPEAKER_09

Alright, so let's go this way. We're gonna pick up the harmonica and then we're gonna go to your car. I'm just gonna walk you to your car, bro. That's all. Yeah. Do you ever hear him say um bruv?

SPEAKER_02

Bruv? Like bruv? Like B-R-U-V, bruv? Bruv. I I feel like that's what like the English say instead of bruh to say bruv. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

That does sound very British, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Doesn't it? Yeah. I can't stop saying it when I say bruv. Come on, bruv. Let's go this way, bruv. Woo!

SPEAKER_07

You look.

SPEAKER_02

You know what? I don't mind the heat. I really don't. But there's something about here where you're in the parking lot and it's just like radiating. It's coming off of the pavement, you know?

SPEAKER_07

Exactly. It's it's it's extra. It's like hot to begin with. The parking lot's extra hot. Right.

SPEAKER_02

Like at home, I'm like, I'll go outside and then I'll be working in the yard or go to the studio or whatever. And Caroline will walk out and she's like, oh my God, how do you stand it? It's so hot. I'm like, I love it, it's no problem. But when I'm here, it's hot. I'm like, it must be this pavement. It's hot. We're just, it's like we're in a pocket of just there's no greenery, you know? No, it's just like the heat radiating off of the pavement. I think a lot of our listeners, they're just they really tune in to hear the duos, you know? Right. So it would kind of be quite quite a shame if we uh well the episode's been so good. I hate to just like go, oh sorry. You know, after all that, no duo? No duo after that whole excellent episode.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_09

A lot of people probably like just only reason they kept listening was to hear the duo.

SPEAKER_07

A lot of people, probably 100% of the listening audience. Probably all of them.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, yeah. Probably all of them. And you know, Wayne might not even hear this part because he's probably thinks we're talking about Instagram, and we should be. And we should be, let's just say Instagram a bunch of times. Instagram, Instagram, Instagram. We love Mark Zuckerberg. No, it's I I I do think um, I mean, whatever. They they paid a billion dollars for that.

SPEAKER_07

What for Instagram? Yeah, and it's they probably made a billion dollars in the time that we made this episode, you probably made a billion dollars.

SPEAKER_09

I think you're probably right. Not only that, it's probably worth like 50 billion now or 100 billion. Exactly. All right, we're gonna do it right here.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, this is it. This is our um oh, you got the small one now. Well, yeah, it's just it's a good size to kind of keep in the car.
