So, what does “sickening” mean? It describes something that makes you feel extremely upset, disgusted, or angry — either emotionally or even physically, like you want to be sick.
Let’s look at a few more powerful examples: The video of the stray dogs being treated cruelly was sickening. It stayed in my mind all week.
The sickening rise in hate crimes after the law changed shocked the country.
The way he spoke about her—like she didn’t even matter—was absolutely sickening.
