 Her friend looked at the phone and said, “Okay… that’s a little unhinged.”

So what does “unhinged” mean?

 “Unhinged” describes behavior that seems unstable, extreme, chaotic, or emotionally out of control.

Originally, it means something literally off its hinges — like a broken door.
 But now, we use it for people’s behavior.

Examples:

It’s usually informal. Sometimes serious. Sometimes playful.

 Have you ever seen something that felt a little… unhinged?
