Hi everyone, and welcome to Daily English. Today’s expression is modern, relatable, and surprisingly powerful. It’s “I can’t unsee that.”One more time: “I can’t unsee that.”
She was watching an interview with someone she admired.
Halfway through, she noticed how they spoke to the staff off camera — dismissive, impatient, cold. It was subtle. But once she saw it… she couldn’t unsee it.
So what does “I can’t unsee that” mean?
It means you’ve seen something — and now you can’t forget it. It changed the way you look at that person, situation, or thing.
Sometimes it’s funny.
He pointed out that the logo looked slightly crooked. Now every time I walk past that building,
I can’t unsee it.
Sometimes it’s uncomfortable.
She realized her friend only called when she needed something. Once she saw the pattern,
she couldn’t unsee it.
And sometimes it’s emotional.
You grow up thinking something in your family was normal. Then one day you see it clearly —
and you can’t unsee it anymore.
“I can’t unsee that” is about awareness. And awareness changes perspective.
It doesn’t always mean anger. Sometimes it just means clarity.
Now it’s your turn: What’s something you’ve seen — big or small — that you just can’t unsee?
Thanks for listening to Daily English. Have a thoughtful, lovely day. See you tomorrow
