Hi everyone, and welcome to Daily English. Today’s expression is very common and very human. It’s “have second thoughts.”One more time: “have second thoughts.”
At first, everything felt right. She made a quick decision and felt confident about it.
But later that night, she started to think again… and slowly, she began to have second thoughts.
So what does “have second thoughts” mean? To “have second thoughts” means to begin to doubt a decision after you’ve already made it. It’s that moment when you’re no longer completely sure.
Let’s listen to some examples. Someone decides to accept a new job. But after thinking more about it, they start to wonder if it’s the right choice. They’re having second thoughts.
Or imagine you say yes to something quickly, but later realize you may not actually want to do it.
Again, you’re having second thoughts.
In life, this is very normal. We don’t always see everything clearly at first.
Having second thoughts doesn’t mean you made a bad decision — it means you’re thinking more carefully. Not all the times, but sometimes
Now it’s your turn: Have you ever had second thoughts about a decision? I’m sure you’ve had. and what did you do next?
Thanks for listening to Daily English. Take your time with your choices, and see you tomorrow.
