Examples:

Hello and welcome back to Daily English! Today’s word is “pushy.” Once again: pushy.

Here are two clues:

A salesperson keeps following you around the store, recommending things you clearly don’t want and saying, “You have to try this!” That’s pretty pushy.

A friend keeps pressuring you to go to a party, even after you said no twice. Yep—they’re being a little pushy.

What does “Pushy” mean? If someone is pushy, it means they try to force their opinions, desires, or suggestions onto others, often in a way that feels aggressive, annoying, or too much.

A pushy person doesn’t easily take “no” for an answer—and that’s what makes them unpleasant sometimes.

Examples:

"My aunt is so pushy—she keeps asking when I’ll get married, even though I’ve told her I’m happy the way I am!"

"Some fans said the influencer was pushy about promoting her products—every post was like a sales pitch."

"I told my roommate I might clean the kitchen ‘later,’ and she sent me three reminders. A little pushy, don’t you think?"

 You can describe someone as pushy in: Sales or marketing, Social situations, Family or friendships (especially when they don’t respect your boundaries)
