Daily English Pod
Daily English Pod is a space for learning English beyond grammar and textbooks.
During the week, you’ll learn practical vocabulary, expressions, idioms, and real-life English, the language people actually use in everyday conversations, emotions, and work.
On weekends, we slow down. Through ideas from psychology, philosophy, and real human experience, we explore language as a way to better understand life, emotions, identity, and growth.
This podcast is created by Jale, an English teacher with 13 years of teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from Canada, who teaches with patience, clarity, and care, and believes learning works best when students feel seen, respected, and safe to think aloud.
The goal is simple but meaningful: to help you understand English deeply, use it confidently, and connect it to your real life. English here is not just a skill. It’s a gentle companion for clearer thinking, honest expression, and deeper human connection.

Gut feeling
refers to an instinctive or intuitive feeling about something, not based on conscious reasoning.
Examples:
1- I had a gut feeling that I shouldn't trust that email, and it turned out to be a scam.
2- Despite the data suggesting otherwise, her gut feeling told her to proceed with the project, and it was a success.
Hello and welcome back to daily English. Today’s expression is "gut feeling." Once again: gut feeling. Have you ever made a decision without any logical reasoning, just a strong inner sense guiding you? Imagine You're about to enter a building, but something feels off, so you decide not to go in.
Or You meet someone new, and immediately, you feel you can trust them, even without knowing much about them.
A "gut feeling" refers to an instinctive or intuitive feeling about something, not based on conscious reasoning.
For example:
- "I had a gut feeling that I shouldn't trust that email, and it turned out to be a scam."
- "Despite the data suggesting otherwise, her gut feeling told her to proceed with the project, and it was a success."
Think about a time when you had a gut feeling. What was the situation? Did you act on it, or did you ignore it? What was the outcome?
I'd love to hear your stories.
