Daily English Pod
Daily English Pod is a space for learning English beyond grammar and textbooks.
During the week, you’ll learn practical vocabulary, expressions, idioms, and real-life English, the language people actually use in everyday conversations, emotions, and work.
On weekends, we slow down. Through ideas from psychology, philosophy, and real human experience, we explore language as a way to better understand life, emotions, identity, and growth.
This podcast is created by Jale, an English teacher with 13 years of teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from Canada, who teaches with patience, clarity, and care, and believes learning works best when students feel seen, respected, and safe to think aloud.
The goal is simple but meaningful: to help you understand English deeply, use it confidently, and connect it to your real life. English here is not just a skill. It’s a gentle companion for clearer thinking, honest expression, and deeper human connection.

Hello and welcome to Daily English, as it’s the weekend we learn English through stories.
Today’s story is about a man who turned his backyard into a personal railroad. It all started when he got a wild bug to build something extraordinary.
What Happened? In 2016, Cory Mohl from West Valley City, Utah, decided to pursue his lifelong dream of building a working railroad in his backyard. He invested $17,500 and countless hours constructing a 400-foot track that winds through his property, complete with a functioning locomotive .
Cory's passion for trains wasn't new, but one day he just got a wild bug to bring that passion to life in a big way. Now, his backyard railroad is a testament to what can happen when inspiration strikes and you follow through with dedication.
To get a wild bug means to suddenly feel a strong, often impulsive, desire to do something out of the ordinary.
