This podcast is created by Jale, an English teacher with 13 years of teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from Canada, who teaches with patience, clarity, and care, and believes learning works best when students feel seen, respected, and safe to think aloud.

By all means
To say by all means” means you’re giving permission or strongly encouraging someone to do something. It’s another way to say “of course,” “please do,” or “go ahead.
Examples:
1- Can I see the menu again?
“By all means—here you go.
2- A manager might say:
If you’d like to take on more responsibility, by all means—go for it.
Hello and welcome back to Daily English! today’s expression is polite, confident, and super useful in both formal and informal situations. The expression is “by all means.” Once again: by all means. Let’s see if you can guess what it means from a couple of clues:
Your friend asks, “Can I borrow your notebook?” and you say, “By all means!”
- A guest asks if they can take a second helping of food, and the host replies, “By all means—eat as much as you like!”
What does “By All Means” mean? To say “by all means” means you’re giving permission or strongly encouraging someone to do something. It’s another way to say “of course,” “please do,” or “go ahead.”
It sounds polite, supportive, and a bit more formal than just saying “sure.”
Let’s look at some examples:

A manager might say:
