Daily English Pod
Daily English Pod is a space for learning English beyond grammar and textbooks.
During the week, you’ll learn practical vocabulary, expressions, idioms, and real-life English, the language people actually use in everyday conversations, emotions, and work.
On weekends, we slow down. Through ideas from psychology, philosophy, and real human experience, we explore language as a way to better understand life, emotions, identity, and growth.
This podcast is created by Jale, an English teacher with 13 years of teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from Canada, who teaches with patience, clarity, and care, and believes learning works best when students feel seen, respected, and safe to think aloud.
The goal is simple but meaningful: to help you understand English deeply, use it confidently, and connect it to your real life. English here is not just a skill. It’s a gentle companion for clearer thinking, honest expression, and deeper human connection.

Living in a fantasy world
means to have unrealistic ideas, dreams, or beliefs that are disconnected from reality.
Examples:
1- He really thinks he’ll become a millionaire overnight without doing any work. He’s living in a fantasy world.
2- Peter Fitzek thought he could run his own kingdom inside Germany—he was definitely living in a fantasy world.
Hello and welcome to Daily English, as it’s the weekend, we learn English through real stories. You’ll find the full transcript in the link below. Today’s story sounds like a strange fairy tale—but it really happened. It’s about a man who crowned himself king and tried to start a new country... right in the middle of modern-day Germany.
In 2012, Peter Fitzek declared himself the “King of Germany.” He wore royal robes, created his own passports, opened a bank, and even appointed ministers. He claimed that the real German government was illegitimate and that his “kingdom” was the true nation.Shockingly, hundreds of people joined him. But German authorities didn’t find it funny. After years of investigation, in May 2025, the government launched a major crackdown. 800 police officers raided over 130 sites across the country. Fitzek and several of his “officials” were arrested, and the group was officially banned. The man who thought he was king was finally brought back to reality.
