This podcast is created by Jale, an English teacher with 13 years of teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from Canada, who teaches with patience, clarity, and care, and believes learning works best when students feel seen, respected, and safe to think aloud.

Hard-headed
It means very stubborn or unwilling to listen to advice or change their mind. A hard-headed person sticks to their own opinion even when it’s clearly not working.
Examples:
1- My boss is too hard-headed to admit he made a mistake.
2- She kept arguing even when she was clearly wrong. Classic hard-headed behavior.
Hello and welcome back to Daily English! Today’s word is “hard-headed.” One more time — hard-headed. Let’s see if you can guess what it means from these clues:
Your friend’s car clearly has engine trouble, but he refuses to take it to a mechanic. He says, “It’s fine. I’ll fix it myself.” You sigh and think, “He’s so hard-headed.”
Or imagine this: you're traveling in a new country, and your aunt refuses to use Google Maps.
She insists, “I’ve been here before! I remember the way!” After walking in circles for an hour, you whisper to your cousin, “She’s a little hard-headed, isn’t she?”
