Daily English Pod
Daily English Pod is a space for learning English beyond grammar and textbooks.
During the week, you’ll learn practical vocabulary, expressions, idioms, and real-life English, the language people actually use in everyday conversations, emotions, and work.
On weekends, we slow down. Through ideas from psychology, philosophy, and real human experience, we explore language as a way to better understand life, emotions, identity, and growth.
This podcast is created by Jale, an English teacher with 13 years of teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from Canada, who teaches with patience, clarity, and care, and believes learning works best when students feel seen, respected, and safe to think aloud.
The goal is simple but meaningful: to help you understand English deeply, use it confidently, and connect it to your real life. English here is not just a skill. It’s a gentle companion for clearer thinking, honest expression, and deeper human connection.

Break the mold
To be very different from what is normal or expected — in a way that inspires or changes things.
Examples:
1- Temple Grandin broke the mold by becoming a scientist when many thought she couldn’t even go to school.
2- She’s not a traditional teacher, but the kids love her. She really breaks the mold.
Hello and welcome to Daily English, As it’s the weekend, we learn English through real stories. You can find the full transcript in the description. Today’s story is about a woman who broke the mold not once, but over and over again.
What Happens? When Temple Grandin was born in 1947, she didn’t speak for the first four years of her life. Doctors told her parents she had brain damage and should be institutionalized. But her mother refused to give up. Temple was later diagnosed with autism — a condition that wasn’t well understood at the time. She struggled in school. She didn’t fit in. She thought in pictures, not words. She noticed patterns that others didn’t. But those differences turned out to be her superpower. Temple loved animals. On visits to farms, she noticed how animals reacted to stress — things other people missed. She went on to become a leading scientist in animal behavior, redesigning farms and slaughterhouses to make them more humane.
Her inventions changed the meat industry in the U.S. and beyond. And her books and talks gave people a new understanding of autism.
Temple Grandin didn’t just succeed — she broke the mold. She showed the world that being different can also be brilliant.
