Soft-spoken

Someone who is soft-spoken speaks quietly, calmly, and gently. They don’t need to be loud to be heard.
Examples:

1- She’s soft-spoken, but when she shares an idea, everyone listens — because she chooses her words carefully.

2- He’s a soft-spoken teacher. He explains things patiently, and his calm voice makes people feel safe to ask questions.

Hi everyone, and welcome to Daily English. Today’s word is gentle, quiet, and surprisingly powerful. It’s “soft-spoken.” One more time: “soft-spoken.”

She didn’t raise her voice. She didn’t interrupt. When she spoke, people leaned in and listened.
She was soft-spoken — and her words carried weight.

So what does “soft-spoken” mean?  Someone who is soft-spoken speaks quietly, calmly, and gently.
They don’t need to be loud to be heard.
Their strength comes from tone, not volume.

Let’s listen to some examples: He’s a soft-spoken teacher. He explains things patiently,
and his calm voice makes people feel safe to ask questions.

She’s soft-spoken, but when she shares an idea, everyone listens — because she chooses her words carefully.

In difficult moments, his soft-spoken response helped calm the room more than shouting ever could.

Being soft-spoken doesn’t mean being weak. It means being thoughtful. It means knowing that quiet confidence can be just as powerful as loud words.

Some of the strongest people are the ones who don’t need to prove anything.

Now it’s your turn: Do you consider yourself soft-spoken — or do you admire that quality in others?

And remember — learning English isn’t about being louder. It’s about being clearer.

Thanks for listening to Daily English. Have a calm, lovely day, and see you tomorrow.
