Daily English Pod
Daily English Pod is a space for learning English beyond grammar and textbooks.
During the week, you’ll learn practical vocabulary, expressions, idioms, and real-life English, the language people actually use in everyday conversations, emotions, and work.
On weekends, we slow down. Through ideas from psychology, philosophy, and real human experience, we explore language as a way to better understand life, emotions, identity, and growth.
This podcast is created by Jale, an English teacher with 13 years of teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from Canada, who teaches with patience, clarity, and care, and believes learning works best when students feel seen, respected, and safe to think aloud.
The goal is simple but meaningful: to help you understand English deeply, use it confidently, and connect it to your real life. English here is not just a skill. It’s a gentle companion for clearer thinking, honest expression, and deeper human connection.

It doesn't hurt to
There’s no disadvantage in doing it.
Examples
1- It doesn’t hurt to send your resume.
2- It doesn’t hurt to ask.
How often do we avoid doing something because we’re afraid it won’t work?
Asking a question.
Sending a message.
Applying for a job.
Trying a new hobby.
And then someone says:
“Well, it doesn’t hurt to try.”
Today’s expression is:
It doesn’t hurt to…
It means:
There’s no disadvantage in doing it.
For example:
“It doesn’t hurt to ask.”
Or:
“It doesn’t hurt to send your resume.”
This expression reminds us that some opportunities cost almost nothing to explore.
A small action can sometimes lead to a big opportunity.
And if nothing happens?
Well… it didn’t hurt to try.
In fact, many good things in life begin with actions that seemed small and harmless at the time.
A message.
A question.
An application.
A conversation.
You never know where they might lead.
What’s something you’ve been hesitating to do that doesn’t hurt to try?
Sometimes the biggest regret isn’t trying and failing.
It’s never trying at all.
See you tomorrow.
