Daily English Pod
Daily English Pod is a space for learning English beyond grammar and textbooks.
During the week, you’ll learn practical vocabulary, expressions, idioms, and real-life English, the language people actually use in everyday conversations, emotions, and work.
On weekends, we slow down. Through ideas from psychology, philosophy, and real human experience, we explore language as a way to better understand life, emotions, identity, and growth.
This podcast is created by Jale, an English teacher with 13 years of teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from Canada, who teaches with patience, clarity, and care, and believes learning works best when students feel seen, respected, and safe to think aloud.
The goal is simple but meaningful: to help you understand English deeply, use it confidently, and connect it to your real life. English here is not just a skill. It’s a gentle companion for clearer thinking, honest expression, and deeper human connection.

For some reason
For a reason that you don’t know or can’t explain.
Example:
Imagine you’re talking to a friend about movies.
You say:
“For some reason, I always cry at the end of animated films.”
You don’t know exactly why.
You just do.
Have you ever had a feeling, a habit, or a preference that you simply couldn’t explain?
Maybe a certain song always makes you nostalgic.
Maybe a particular street in your city feels strangely familiar.
Maybe every time it rains, you suddenly feel like drinking tea or coffee.
And when someone asks why, the honest answer is often:
“For some reason…”
Hi everyone, and welcome to Daily English.
Today’s expression is simple, common, and incredibly useful:
For some reason.
One more time:
For some reason.
It means:
For a reason that you don’t know or can’t explain.
Let’s look at some examples.
Imagine you’re talking to a friend about movies.
You say:
“For some reason, I always cry at the end of animated films.”
You don’t know exactly why.
You just do.
Or imagine you’re walking through a neighborhood you haven’t visited in years.
Suddenly, memories start coming back.
You might say:
“For some reason, this place reminds me of my childhood.”
Or imagine you’re preparing for a presentation.
You’ve given presentations before and you’re well prepared.
But your hands are still shaking.
You tell a colleague:
“For some reason, I always get nervous before presentations.”
This expression is so common because human beings aren’t always logical.
We have habits we can’t explain.
Preferences we don’t understand.
Memories that suddenly appear out of nowhere.
And sometimes, the most honest explanation is simply:
“For some reason…”
Now it’s your turn:
What’s something you do, feel, or remember for some reason, even though you can’t fully explain it?
Thank you for spending a few minutes of your day with me.
And remember:
Not everything needs an explanation.
Some things simply stay with us…
for some reason.
See you tomorrow.
