PLAY LIST
Remember when Wednesdays meant there was a fresh alt-weekly newspaper in the newspaper box on the corner?
In it you found faces you recognized — of your friends and maybe even yourself. Mirror Indy’s new arts and culture newsletter is an ode to that magic, which is why it will hit your mailbox every Wednesday at noon. You can read or listen to it!

Dearest PlayListers,
I’m usually a little doom-and-gloom about late February and March. By this point, I start feeling like winter might be over any day. Like, it has to be over any day now, right?
Even though we’re getting spring-like temperatures this week, I’m here to remind you that it’s not. Terrible news, I know.
But that’s no reason not to enjoy it while it lasts! Find your way into the sunshine on these nice winter days. Leave your indoor enclosures and be outside in a sunny patch. Even if it’s only for five minutes. Your body, mind and spirit will thank you.
The Garfield Park Conservatory is my favorite spot to get a fix of green plants and fresh oxygen.
Grab a sketch book or something to read (the Garfield Park Library is literally next door). Go to the conservatory. While you're there, BREATHE. Breathe deep belly breaths for as long as you can stand it.
I guarantee you will feel different when you leave.
In this episode:
- How to rock your next theater audition
- Storytime with Indy authors
- Sweet photos and stories from Valentine's Day weddings
- Video: Hear a song from Ultimate Dog's “The Reverend Kile Oak” album
