Faith Science
Welcome to Faith Science, a podcast where faith and science intersect in fascinating conversations. Join us as we talk with guests about how their pursuit of knowledge and understanding has affected their faith in God. In a world where atheism often claims science as its own, we present a different narrative: the pursuit of knowledge in science can coexist with and even strengthen belief in the Divine. Faith Science offers a unique perspective with inspiring stories, thoughtful reflections, and a celebration of the harmony between belief and empirical discovery.

Jeff Rawls is a former environmental scientist and computer engineer. His degrees are in business administration and environmental studies. His new book "God Does Not Need Your Religion to Exist" began as a project to explain Bible narratives that are taught in Sunday School to adults who had no such religious background. He was surprised to learn that Christians were teaching children that narratives such as the Genesis 1 creation account were historical events, rather than parables.
He and Jerry discussed his view that much, if not all, of Genesis should be taken as allegory rather than history. Since Jerry believes in a natural reading of Scripture and a literal interpretation of the Genesis narratives, he disagreed with Jeff's point of view. Jerry showed that one can acknowledge that there are deeper lessons to be learned from the Genesis narratives without rejecting their historicity. Don't miss Jeff's takes on gender reassignment and man-made climate change!
