The author and creator of Aunty Bronwyn, John Rushton, is a successful businessman who has literally travelled the globe with his work  Over a span of nearly 40 years, he has seen the world for what it is.  The different countries, climates, races, cultures, ways of doing business, languages, endemic products, the works.

What he found was that no matter where he was, people's problems were almost identical, the only major difference was the way they went about dealing with them, if at all in some countries. The religions and cultures and narrow-minded attitudes in many only exacerbated the problem causing mental health issues.

During his tenure as a globe trotter John amassed a great deal of knowledge and was instrumental in many of the overseas companies, he dealt with in forming social groups to help bring a new perspective into view and opportunities and open up people's minds as to going forward and not held back by outdated and redundant protocols.

Towards the end of his overseas work, John started writing, putting pen to paper and noting the various experiences and attained knowledge of why some societies do well and some others don't.  Why do some people progress, and others don't? There is always a list of variable factors, but the root cause is predominantly basic.

His first books "Love Your Life" and "At A Crossroads" are still in print and are currently being updated.  Outside of clinical problems, many people manifest their own negativity and seemingly don't want to hear of ways out as it can pose to stop them a step too far. A step that they are unwilling to take, no magic wands. About this time John formed his own radio station "Life Radio International" which broadcasts to over 180 countries. The radio features a series of popular topics. On one such programme there was a "phone in" and this went exceptionally well. John was also engaged in radio and television programmes as "Emotions Expert" which was very popular.

He decided to create a fictitious character who was not only humorous but fronted the global knowledge that he had, and after a great deal of deliberation Aunty Bronwyn came to life. With Aunty Bronwyn one could say far more than via direct live conversation.  The callers also appeared to have a freedom themselves to say things that otherwise they might not have said. This all being interlaced with humour which lightens even the most serious topics.

The book, "The Anthology of Aunty Bronwyn Shows", is just that it lists the tremendous range of topics, many taboo, many controversial which shows the diversity and complexity of what is out there. The book is expected to be published towards the end of the year.

There have been a number of interests to date about a cartoon/animation series based on Aunty Bronwyn.
