This week's short meditation invites you to explore the practice of mindfulness and how to begin to incorporate this awareness into your everyday life.

Let's get started.

Begin by finding a comfortable position, whatever that means for you today. Allow your body to settle into the space around you, feeling supported by the surface beneath you. If it feels safe for you, consider closing your eyes or maybe just soften your gaze.

 As your breath begins to find its natural rhythm, bring your awareness to the present moment. Take note of any sensations you may be feeling in your body. The weight of your connection to the surface beneath you, the cadence of your breath, the steady pulse of your heartbeat. Give yourself permission to be fully present here in this moment. If any thoughts or distractions arise, gently acknowledge them and then bring your focus back to this moment, back to the sensations you're experiencing right now.

Back to the breath.

This is the core of mindfulness. Returning to the present moment without judgment, Take a moment to consider ways to bring this awareness, this presence, into your daily life,

To be fully engaged in and fully present for even the mundane daily tasks. Give yourself permission to be fully immersed in your daily experiences, To let go of any judgments, and gently guide yourself back to the present moment when you notice your thoughts may be drifting.

As you go through your day, remind yourself that mindfulness is about bringing awareness into every moment.

Each breath, each task, each interaction is an opportunity to practice presence, to embrace awareness, to return to the present moment again and again. Take one final round of breath here, inviting in awareness, fully present in this moment.

And when it feels comfortable for you, begin to bring yourself back to the space around you. There's no rush. Take all the time you need. When you are ready, slowly open your eyes, ready to return to your day.
