Laptops and Drinks
Laptops and Drinks was inspired by a group of professional black women coming together, wanting to share some of the honest conversations about life’s dilemmas and experiences. Growing up we recognised that there were so many areas not discussed by our parents. Together we have shared our learning and impact on us in adulthood from these taboo subjects, secrecy or just not knowing. There is such power in overcoming situations however sometimes we are scared to share. Where does this come from? Is it personal, cultural? This and a lot more will be covered.
Each week we will have a guest to sit and talk with about life’s dilemmas along with lots of other fun/interesting topics and takeaways.

EP8: Drinks and Thoughts Part 2 "Respectfully, No: Boundaries, Biles & Black Hair at Work”
In Part 2, we’re diving into the art of saying no—from Michelle Obama skipping Trump’s inauguration to setting boundaries in everyday life. We reflect on Simone Biles’ powerful mental health journey and what her return to the Olympics could mean. Plus, we unpack the emotional labour placed on Black professional women who constantly find themselves educating colleagues about natural hair and identity in the workplace.
