36 Having Faith Like Job When We Plan and God Laughs
Today's podcast is about trusting God in the storms of life. We all have expectations that are often unfulfilled and experience trials that we don't understand. Is it okay to ask God, "Why?" Job did. God can take it. The truth is that He is in charge of it all and He doesn't need our permission to do whatever He wants. He loves us though and He understands when it is hard for us. He just wants us to remain faithful and to trust Him in it all.
In the episode, Sharon gives a comparison of life as a river with obstacles, rapids, waterfalls, and beautiful times when the river is calm. It is easy to pull the paddles in and float along on the calm parts of the journey, but what about during the stormy days when the river is wild and untamed and we are tossed about?
She takes a deep dive into the life of Job. He cursed the day that he was born because his life was so hard and he suffered so, but he never cursed God. We can look at Job's life as an example of how we can trust God through it all knowing that at the end, God brings us through and He never abandons us in the journey.
