EP 258: How Deepti Tyagi Transforms Special Moments Into Unforgettable Memories

Sophia Yvette

What makes Deepti Tyagi with Weddings And Events by 7Elements a good neighbor?

From sewing beautiful garments in India to crafting unforgettable celebrations in Dallas, Deepti Tyagi's creative journey showcases the power of reinvention and determination. As founder of Weddings And Events by 7Elements, Deepti brings a unique perspective to event planning, influenced by her background in fashion design and her experience adapting to life in a new country.

Deepti's story begins at IFT Delhi, where she studied fashion and apparel design before spending five years in the industry handling global accounts. After running her own boutique for eight years, she faced a pivotal moment when relocating to Dallas in 2014. What started as volunteering at school and community events evolved into a thriving business that now creates magical weddings, birthday parties, baby showers, and special celebrations.

What sets Deepti apart is her genuine passion for creating personalized experiences. "We care deeply about every event," she explains. "It's not just about planning or decoration. It's about creating something special for someone's big day." She dispels the common misconception that event planners are only for grand occasions, emphasizing that professional guidance can actually save time and money by preventing costly mistakes.

Whether you're planning an intimate gathering or a lavish celebration, Deepti and her team at Seven Elements are dedicated to bringing your vision to life. Welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast. Are you in need of an event coordinator and director Decorator? Well, one may be closer than you think. Today I have the pleasure of introducing your good neighbor, deepthi Tyagi, with Weddings and Events by 7 Elements. Deepti, how are you today? I'm good. How are you? I'm doing well. So we're excited to learn all about you and your business. Can you tell us a bit about your company?

Speaker 3:

Oh yes, so we are Weddings and events by seven elements. We plan and design weddings, birthday parties, baby showers and other special events. We also provide beautiful decor services and our goal is to make every event smooth, stylish and unforgettable.

Speaker 2:

Amazing and so Deepti. I'm sure you have an interesting story about this, but how did you originally get started in this industry?

Speaker 3:

Well, interesting question. Okay, so I was born and raised in India. Okay, so I was born and raised in India. I studied fashion and apparel design at IFT Delhi and worked for five years in fashion industry handling global accounts After I got married in 2005,. Then I started my own boutique and ran it around for oh sorry eight years, and then, in 2014, I moved to Dallas with my husband and kids. It was a big change and since my kids were small, I took a break from work. In 2016, I started helping with school and community events using my design skills and in 2017, I began getting paid projects, and since then, I haven't looked back.

Speaker 2:

Wow, what a journey you've been through, Deepti. Let's go ahead and get into it a bit more. What are the most common or the number one myth or misconception you typically come across in your industry?

Speaker 3:

Well, many people think event planners are only for big events, but that's not true. We help save time money by avoiding mistakes and making the whole process easier.

Speaker 2:

So who are some of your target clients and, in terms of marketing, how do you typically attract them?

Speaker 3:

Target customers. We work with couples and families planning weddings, birthdays, baby showers and more events. Most of our clients come through reference social media and from working with venues different venues.

Speaker 2:

And your clients. Do you target a certain demographic or age range?

Speaker 3:

all, all kind of clients like it's, not just one from one okay, now let's go ahead and um outside of work.

Speaker 2:

What do you like to do for fun?

Speaker 3:

outside of work. What do you like to do for fun? I love spending time. Whenever I'm free, I have time, so I love spending time with my family and watching movies. My kids keep me busy and we also have a sweet little multiple puppy named Ollie and he's full of energy and fun and we enjoy a lot of time with him.

Speaker 2:

Oh, like another member of the family. Yeah, let's go ahead and switch gears for a second. Can you describe a hardship or a life challenge you overcame and how it made you a better and stronger woman today? Whatever you're comfortable sharing uh okay.

Speaker 3:

So I don't see it as a hardship, uh, but more of a learning journey. In india I had a lot of support, but in the usa I had to do most things myself. So meeting vendors, planning and learning new tools, everything and most of the work I had to do alone and I was not great with technology at first, but with my husband's help and some online learnings, I figured it out. It made me stronger. And some online learnings I figured it out. It made me stronger.

Speaker 2:

Wow, that sounds like it must have been a very overwhelming time for you. Yeah, what got you through that challenge?

Speaker 3:

You said your husband was a big help. No, like I'm not good in technology technology, so he helped me in that and how?

Speaker 2:

what was it that got you through that overwhelming period of life?

Speaker 3:

dipti. Yes, are you still there? Oh, yes, yes, okay.

Speaker 2:

What was it that helped you get through that period of life? Yes, so Deepti. What was it that helped you overcome that challenging time?

Speaker 3:

Like initially I had to work alone, but now I have a team and my husband also helped me. My kids they're grown up, they are good in technology, very smart, and they also helped me and they just you, you know give the suggestions, mom, this option is going better and, like I have a team also, the people come and they help me in planning and decor. So now I'm good. But initially, yeah, I faced a lot of challenges, but now I'm good so deep D.
