EP 357: How A Wellness Coach Turns Pain Into Care For Mind And Body

Sophia Yvette

What Makes Travell Unique with I Am Travell Unique LLC a Good Neighbor?

What if migraines, palpitations, and restless nights aren’t random—but your body trying to speak what words never could? In this episode, we sit down with Travell Unique, founder of I Am Travell Unique LLC, to explore a calm, faith-rooted path from overwhelm to regulation using story, simple practices, and emotional honesty.

Travell Unique is a New Orleans, LA native who is the owner and founder of PURITY KINGDOM LLC, a Christian brand. She designs clothing apparel and accessories, creates custom mugs, logos, and stationery, and develops websites. She offers holistic wellness products and services. She is an author, cook, and the founder of I AM TRAVELL UNIQUE LLC Ministry and an academy. She has experienced chronic childhood trauma, which pushed her into music therapy and created a strong desire to protect children and provide a haven for those who need help while enduring family dysfunction. God has always impressed upon her to maintain a pure heart, pure conscience, and clean hands. She is dedicated to understanding and supporting emotional intelligence and maturity in both the natural and spiritual realm. In addition, she has been a professional instructional designer for 17 years, creating training materials for print and web. In 2014, she heard God reveal the word “apothecary” to her. She had no idea what it meant at the time, but through prayer and conversation she learned about organic candles. She began studying emotions, essential oils, music therapy, family disorders, and PTSD strategies for children and women. She is an ordained minister who loves to entertain guests while engaging in rich conversations about God and scripture. She is equipped to correct, encourage, teach, and share the true gospel by illuminating written scriptures into plain messages with the help of the Holy Spirit. She desires to teach children from broken homes how to create music and write songs from the heart and with scripture.

In our conversation, Travell shares how her unspoken emotions once became physical symptoms—and the turning point where she began connecting healing with faith, breath, scent, and story. She walks us through simple tools you can use today: cold-face resets at the fridge, paced breathing with a consistent scent, chamomile for calm, mullein tea for lung clarity, and her guided journal that helps you speak your story without spiraling because we don’t go through things, we grow through them.

If you’re looking for grounded emotional wellness, faith-led guidance, and tools that fit real life, this conversation is for you.

SPEAKER_01:

This is the Good Neighbor Podcast, the place where local businesses and neighbors come together. Here's your host, Sophia Yvette.

SPEAKER_02:

Welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast. Are you in need of an emotional wellness consultant? Well, one may be closer than you think. Today, I have the pleasure of introducing your good neighbor, Travel Unique, with her company. I am Travel Unique LLC. Travel, how are you today?

SPEAKER_00:

I am great. Thank you for having me.

SPEAKER_02:

Yes, it is a pleasure to have you on, and we're excited to learn all about you and your business. Can you start off by telling our listeners just a little bit about your company?

SPEAKER_00:

Absolutely. So I am Travel Unique LLC is an emotional wellness and health consultant uh company. My um wheelhouse is really focusing on helping people manage their emotions, especially if it's in a um very high intense uh situation. But then I also offer products where um it can help change your mood, fix your health, and it's coupled along with the emotional side of things. So even though it may be a tea or um it may be um elderberry syrup if you're sick, um, it still helps with your overall wellness. So it's not just an emotional side, but also a health side as well. So it's like a hug for your body, yes, for the total body, not just you know, it's emotions, mind, body, everything.

SPEAKER_02:

Now, how did you originally get into a business like this?

SPEAKER_00:

So I have had many emotional or traumatic experiences in my lifetime. And so um, before I knew anything about how to manage my emotions, I was suppressing them a lot. And so, because I was suppressing them, not knowing how it impacts my overall health, I was seeing many doctors, um, you know, just dealing with different things, whether it was feeling like heart palpitations or even migraines. I used to suffer with migraines really, really bad. It was just taking a toll on my physical body, but I didn't realize that it was even my emotional or mental uh portion that was contributing to that. So that's how I got started. I started assessing myself and my responses to different things. And over time, uh just learning, God allowed me to learn more about what it means to use a chamomile or what does it mean to use uh mullet to kind of help regulate my body, my hormones, and just even my thought process, of course, with reading the Bible.

SPEAKER_02:

That is amazing and an amazing approach. So, getting into things a bit deeper, Travel, where did your heart for helping others come from for this business?

SPEAKER_00:

So, um, as I mentioned, I actually had a lot of traumatic experiences, and so it started as young as like five years old, and some things were beyond my control, and it was um very graphic. And so, because of the suppression of the emotions and even not having the family support that I needed, I realized that there was a need, and so um, because of that, the first thing I started working on is regaining my voice to tell my story, right? And so sometimes when you're just fresh off of an event, you know, you don't know how to say it as clearly, or you can be very passionate and strong about it, and so I had to get um understanding on how to share my story, how to um educate others, and because it happened to me at such a young age, my heart is to protect, right? And so I wanted to educate others, recognizing signs, behaviors, um, just even mental things that happen to people who have ever uh experienced traumatic experiences. And so I just wanted to bring my wealth and my knowledge and wisdom to um others so they can learn from me because everybody's story is not the same, everybody's experience isn't the same, and even our reactions to what has happened is not the same. And so I just wanted to share that.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, I can most certainly tell God has his hand on what you're doing, so that's beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Now we know marketing is the heart of every business. In terms of marketing, who are your target customers or clients and how do you attract them?

SPEAKER_00:

So I don't have an age limit really because my what I offer it uh expands beyond just children. Um, one of the major things that I've been doing with my business um is working with other wellness coaches like myself. And we've kind of like, um, as a matter of fact, I my first book that I released in 2023 was a group of us who are in the same field, right? And so because of that, we were able to market on social media, we were able to market, you know, in our churches with our families and things like that. Also, when we, you know, posted our book, it it came out on Amazon, so it was able to be uh distributed there, and then um just on social media, as far as you know, when I feel like God has dropped something in my spirit, I'll just go live and just share. So that's pretty much how things and word of mouth, right? So some people who have um purchased my products, um, even vendor events that I've been at, because they met me at that event or uh that place, I have been getting invited to different things, whether it's to speak, whether it's just to be a vendor, um, to offer my expertise. That's kind of how things have been um working out for me and my business.

SPEAKER_02:

Now, in terms of the Holy Spirit working through you, have you ever thought about having your own podcast to extend your voice?

SPEAKER_00:

Yes, I have, and I'm actually in the works of that, and the Holy Spirit definitely has a way of convicting me in places like this. Um, so I started the process. I actually have the name of my business. I uh do I haven't released it or done anything with it yet because I also have understood the trademark and copyright side of things, and so I'm still working on trying to make sure that's secure before someone takes and advertise my name. And so, um, and and when I'm saying my name, not uh Trevel Unique, but my uh podcast name. And so right now I'm just doing like little snippets of things, whether it's on YouTube or uh TikTok or Facebook. I kind of like talk a little bit about trauma, but I haven't quite pushed the launch. So I got my Spotify spot, but didn't push the launch yet, if that makes sense.

SPEAKER_02:

Now, Travel, we certainly have gone deep today in this episode. However, to give our listeners a bit of a better understanding, can you elaborate on the types of products that you sell?

SPEAKER_00:

Absolutely. So, first off, I do um partner with uh a major label um company that sells uh aromatherapy items such as uh essential oils, diffusers, things like that. And so um because I have a relationship with them, I use those products to develop my scrubs. So I do have body scrubs that I develop. Everything is all organic. Um, I do uh have skin issues, and so um I want to make sure that everything is pure because I know how I can impact your body, and so I do scrubs, I also have body oils, I have herbal teas that I make. Um for those people who experience like um asthma and you know, just any lung issues and stuff like that. I sell a product called Mullen Tea, and so it's like the natural version of Mucinex, and so it clears the body, clears even your head, like if you have a head cold or anything like that. Um what else? I do make t-shirts with this particular company, um, just empowerment, like talking about speaking up, speaking out against you know, things that are just not, you know, good or something that has happened, like telling your story. But then I also write books, right? So with um this particular uh business, I've written a book, uh, a joint book called If These Walls Could Talk, um, Surviving Childhood Trauma Stories. And so um, that's the anthology book that I was sharing that I did with a bunch of women who we all kind of share the same background. But then out of that, I created a journal called Don't Trust All Babysitters. And so it kind of walks through uh guided exercise and journal, it just explaining how to talk about different events in your life and to be able to um use some of the techniques that I have. Like once you start talking about something as uh strong or deep, it may cause your body to do some things. And so I walk people through techniques on how to bring their emotions and body uh back into alignment, of course, making sure that they get released from their uh medical professional because I'm not a medical professional, so I have to say that, but all of that is written in the book to try to help them relax, whether it's using the essential oil or rather whether you just go and stand in front of the refrigerator and open the door and just stick your face in there. But I kind of coach people on how to bring their emotions and their mental state back into alignment where they can continue to function and not, you know, spiral because of the event that was triggered.

SPEAKER_02:

I think that is so beautiful and so important. And some final words of wisdom to leave our audience with today. You know, sometimes I think when you're in that place, you just need to breathe and pray and know that God's got you, and that at the end of the day, everything's gonna be okay. We don't go through things, we grow through them, right?

SPEAKER_00:

Yes, absolutely. And in order to get on the other side, you have to be able to process everything that's happening and grow.

SPEAKER_02:

Amen. Now, what our listeners really want to know today is where can they go to learn more about I am travel unique LLC?

SPEAKER_00:

They can visit my website, which is www.imtrevelleunique.com. They can also visit Facebook. My username is I am travel unique on Facebook, Instagram, uh, TikTok, uh, Pinterest, as well as YouTube. So all of the well, I'm no longer on Twitter or X, but yeah, most of the platforms they have, it's I am Travel Unique. And that's two L's because some people spell Travel with one L thinking that it's travel, but it's two L's.

SPEAKER_02:
