What Makes LaKisha Collins-Mitchell with CPR Mobile Instructors a Good Neighbor?

Emergencies don’t wait for an ambulance, and that’s exactly where this conversation begins: the critical minutes when a bystander becomes the bridge to survival. We sit down with the team at CPR Mobile Instructors, a Dallas–Fort Worth–based organization bringing CPR, first aid, AED, and Narcan training directly to schools, businesses, and community groups. The mission is simple and powerful—make lifesaving skills accessible, practical, and confidence-building so more people are prepared to act when it matters most.

We unpack the myths that often hold people back, including the belief that CPR or Narcan use is only for medical professionals. This episode explains how hands-on, on-site training replaces fear with confidence by using real-world scenarios tailored to classrooms, offices, and community spaces. We also take a closer look at Narcan—what it is, why it’s safe, and how it only works when opioids are present. In communities facing rising overdose risks, especially among teens, normalizing Narcan alongside CPR training isn’t controversial—it’s compassionate and effective.

The conversation also explores the personal story behind the company’s growth, rooted in a moment when CPR was used to save a loved one’s life. That experience sparked a “teach one, reach one” mindset that has expanded the organization’s impact across multiple states. Listeners will walk away with clear, practical steps for staying calm, calling 911, starting compressions, using an AED, and administering Narcan when needed. If you’ve ever wondered whether you could help in a crisis, this episode shows exactly how to prepare.

If this conversation resonated, share it with someone who should learn CPR, follow the show, and leave a review so more neighbors can find stories that truly save lives.

Meet CPR Mobile Suppliers

SPEAKER_01

This is the Good Neighbor Podcast, the place where local businesses and neighbors come together. Here's your host, Sophia Yvette.

SPEAKER_02

Welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast. Are you in need of a CPR training company? Well, one may be closer than you think. Today I have the pleasure of introducing your good neighbor, Lakeisha Collins, with CPR Mobile Suppliers. Lakeisha, how are you today? I'm doing excellent. How are you? I am also doing excellent. Now we are so excited to learn about you and your business today. Can you start off by telling our listeners just a little bit about your company?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, so we are a CPR and Narcan training business located here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. We provide CPR, first aid, AED, and Narcan training to individuals, schools, businesses, healthcare providers, and community organizations. We specialize in mobile on-site training, which means we come directly to our clients to make life-saving education accessible, convenient, practical. Our mission is simple: equip everyday people with the skills and confidence to save a life before emergency responders arrive.

SPEAKER_02

Amazing. And now how did you originally get into this business, Lakeisha?

SPEAKER_00

We got into this business after realizing how many emergencies happen in everyday settings, homeschools, workplaces, where people are free simply because they don't feel prepared. With our background in healthcare and community service, we saw a real need to bridge the gap between emergencies and professional medical help. CPR and RCAN save lives, but only if people know how and aren't afraid to act.

SPEAKER_02

Lakeisha, you said we. Do you have a business partner as well for your business?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, my business partner. Her name is Jay Raynor.

SPEAKER_02

All right, and why isn't she joining us today?

SPEAKER_00

Well, Jay is out doing a training class, teaching other people how to be CPR instructors.

SPEAKER_02

Amazing. Now, Lakeisha, switching gears, what is that number one myth or misconception you come across on the day-to-day in your industry?

Myths About CPR And Narcan

SPEAKER_00

One common myth is that CPR or Narcan training is only for medical professionals. In reality, anyone can learn these skills, and bystanders are often a difference between life and death. Another misconception is that Narcan is dangerous or encourages drug use. Narcan is safe, non-addictive, and only work if OPRs are present. It simply buys times and saves lives.

SPEAKER_02

Now, Lakeisha, let's get into the heart of your business. We know marketing is the heart of every business. So who are some of your target customers, clients, or audience? And today, how do you attract them?

SPEAKER_00

Some of our target clients are going to be children, people in the kids that are in school. How we're reaching out to them is we're reaching out to the principals and to the PTA to try to get access into the schools so we can gain those clients. There's a lot of kids in the Dallas Fort Worth area who unfortunately are on drugs. So teaching them the schools and the other kids about Narcan training will help us save those lives.

SPEAKER_02

Wow, Lakeisha. Now, have you ever thought about having your own podcast before?

Personal Story And Mission

SPEAKER_00

We have. We are looking into it for the year of 2026. So hopefully everything works out well and we can start, you know, reaching out to other areas as well, teaching them NORCAN training and CPR training.

SPEAKER_02

Amazing. And when you're not helping save lives outside of work, what do you and your family like to do for fun?

SPEAKER_00

Well, when I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, attending community events, and supporting local organizations. Also enjoy activities that help me recharge and stay balanced because this work requires energy, focus, and heart.

SPEAKER_02

Most certainly. Now, Lakeisha, what is the most important part about what you do that you would like our listeners to really focus on today?

SPEAKER_00

I want people to know that this is not a certification business, it's a life-saving mission. We focus on confidence, preparedness, and real world applications. So people are truly ready to act in an emergency.

SPEAKER_02

Wow, that is amazing. And what top tips do you have when it comes to saving a life?

SPEAKER_00

Our first top tip is to remain calm and then to call 911. And if you're not CPR certified, we ask that you go ahead and contact your local American Red Cross or American Heart Association or contact us. This offer CPR training so we can come out and get you certified and get your whole family certified.

SPEAKER_02

Lakeisha, the mission that you have for your business, how does that relate back to you personally?

SPEAKER_00

Well, it doesn't relate back to me personally, but my um my other partner, Jay Rayner, she was in a situation where she had to save her grandfather's life. Her grandfather, you know, he collapsed right in front of her. And by her knowing CPR, she was able to save his life. So that's what helped us get started in this business. Teach one, reach one.

Expansion Plans And How To Book

SPEAKER_02

Wow. Now, do you both further expansion of this business in the future?

SPEAKER_00

Um, yes, we do have other CPR instructors. We're reaching out to all 50 states. Right now, we have CPR instructors in about 25 states that are part of CPR Mobile Instructors. So we are currently expanding.

SPEAKER_02

Final question for you today, Lakeisha. Where can our listeners go to learn more about CPR Mobile Suppliers?
