What makes Brandon and Chelsea Piper with BSP Motorsports a good neighbor?
We talk with Brandon and Chelsea Piper of BSP Motorsports about what separates quality automotive service from the quick fixes that often leave customers frustrated. Based in Aubrey, Texas, BSP Motorsports specializes in automotive repair, diagnostics, fabrication, suspension work, alignments, performance upgrades, and race preparation, serving everyone from daily drivers to dedicated enthusiasts.
Brandon shares how their approach remains consistent regardless of the vehicle in the shop. Whether it’s routine maintenance, troubleshooting a complex issue, or preparing a car for the track, the focus stays on thorough workmanship, attention to detail, and getting the job done correctly the first time.
We also discuss one of the biggest misconceptions in the automotive industry: that all repair shops offer the same level of service and should be chosen based solely on price. Chelsea explains why value comes from quality control, communication, and long term reliability rather than the lowest estimate. Together, they describe how BSP Motorsports uses detailed work orders, photos, and clear explanations to help customers understand exactly what is being done and why.
The conversation also explores how the business has grown through word of mouth referrals, community involvement, car shows, and social media that showcases real projects rather than marketing hype. Brandon and Chelsea share what it is like balancing family life with entrepreneurship and why building trust remains at the center of everything they do.
If you are looking for an automotive repair shop in Aubrey or the DFW area and want a team that values transparency, craftsmanship, and customer relationships, this conversation offers valuable insight into what quality service should look like.

Welcome To Good Neighbor Podcast
SPEAKER_03This is the Good Neighbor Podcast, the place where local businesses and neighbors come together. Here's your host, Sophia Yvette.
SPEAKER_00Welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast. Are you in need of an automotive repair shop? Well, one may be closer than you think. Today I have the pleasure of introducing our good neighbors, Brandon and Chelsea Piper with BSP Motorsports. Hi guys, it's so great having you on. Now we are excited to learn more about you and your business. Let's go ahead and kick things off.
What BSP Motorsports Does
SPEAKER_00Brandon, tell us a little bit more about how you guys got started with this company.
SPEAKER_01My name is Brandon Piper. I'm the owner of BSP Motorsports. We're up here in Aubrey, Texas. Our business kind of specializes in high performance automotive service, uh, suspension setups, alignments, diagnosing, fabrication, some of the like the preparations when it comes to racing. We work really on everything from your daily drivers all the way up to again your race cars. But what really sets us apart is uh the attention to the detail uh and the commitment that we have doing what we do, you know, the the right way.
SPEAKER_00So wonderful. And how did you both
The Price Myth And Doing It Right
SPEAKER_00get started with this business?
SPEAKER_01So uh like I am now 13 years in business. What's funny is the the first year that I opened my own business and I was in a one-man shop with one lift. Um, I actually uh met my beautiful wife here at Chelsea in 2013. That's the year I started the business. So she has got to um watch me grow uh throughout you know this period of time and moving uh locations and more employees and just the growth of the businesses. Uh Chelsea, she's actually just came uh into actually diving into BSG Motorsports and actually is our VP of full-time VP of operations.
SPEAKER_00Okay, Miss VP, tell us the most common misconception you face in your industry today.
SPEAKER_02I think one of the biggest misconceptions is that all automotive shops are the same. People often shop around or look for an automotive shop based on price alone, but there's a huge difference between getting something done and getting it done correctly. The cheapest option is rarely the best value. And in our industry, attention to detail, experience, and quality control matters tremendously. I think at the end of the day, that's the biggest thing of importance to all customers.
SPEAKER_00Most definitely, most definitely. Anything you want to add, Brandon?
SPEAKER_01Nope. I mean, she kind of hit the nail on the head. Um, we're more or less more about the customer experience. You know, I've worked at other automotive shops and I saw always something that was missing, which was either customer communication or transparency or documentation, and that is all things that the SP Motorsports that we provide. You know, our work order has us the ability to have the notes and the pictures and everything that goes through through every process of any repair that we do, and and it kind of gains the trust of the customer. Um, so that way they understand that, like, here we're we're you know, we're doing what we're supposed to do, we're not cutting corners, um, and everything's documented very well. And I have a lot of people that um talk about how that's some of the reason why they bring their cars here, and and a lot of times all that value that we add, it does cost money. I mean, it does take extra time. That's kind of what we provide. So, what Chelsea was saying, as far as like sometimes just price alone, if you're looking for something that's you know the most cost effective, um you know, there there is other options. If you're looking for an experience, that's what BSD provides.
SPEAKER_00Wonderful. I love that. Now let's dive deeper.
Word Of Mouth Marketing That Works
SPEAKER_00Marketing is the heart of every business. So ideally, you know, who are you looking to attract and how are you attracting them to your shop?
SPEAKER_01So with marketing, we have really grown this business in the last 13 years on word of mouth. You know, I do some social media, like we have our social media accounts that we post on, and we have, and that's you know, just kind of showcasing what we work on and you know, kind of some of our processes and what we do and kind of breaking the fourth wall a little bit on that. Um, but a lot of again, what we do is gonna be uh the advertising that we do is word of mouth. You know, we do car shows and we set up booths at car shows. Um, a lot of people, it's just spreading spreading the good word of BSP. You know, there's a lot of people like, man, we had no idea you even existed. Um so it's just you know, what we're trying to work on right now is um getting out uh our name and our brands kind of out there, not only to um what we specialize in, which is some of the race car performance suspension work, but also um, you know, your daily drivers and your normal cars as well, uh just wanting somebody that you trust to work on your car. That you know isn't gonna screw you over.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Wow. Have you ever thought about having your own podcast for the business, Brandon?
SPEAKER_01I'm not very uh I'm kind of shy when it comes to being on camera. Um I I love engaging with be I love talking to people, my customers. Uh sometimes we can go on and you know, showing them the shop or details about their car, and and I'm very comfortable in that situation. You put us, you know, a camera in front of me, and I'm like, uh uh uh. So um, you know, that would be something that uh, you know, as they say that the growth you seek is in what you avoid, probably something like that would uh maybe be a good idea. I mean, I've got a lot of uh good knowledge and and information that I can share with people that I would love to share with people and just help their experiences um owning automobiles because obviously, you know, that's how we get from point A to point B.
SPEAKER_00Well, Brandon, I want you to know we are on camera right now and you are doing great. So thank you.
unknownThanks.
SPEAKER_00All
Life Outside The Shop And Racing Fun
SPEAKER_00right. So, a question for both of you outside of running BSP motorsports, what do you guys like to do for fun?
SPEAKER_02So we are parents, we have two bird babies and two human babies. So we have a one-year-old and a three-year-old. So when we're not here working on cars and being around cars, honestly, we spend our weekends trying to insert ourselves in some kind of format that is around cars. We're trying to raise our kids and teach them everything about cars. Our daughter loves dad's evo. She loves going fast, and you know, she's already starting to get a taste of it. So I'm sure our son will be all about it too.
SPEAKER_01Raising kids right now, raising kids, like having the business and raising kids is uh two full-time jobs, that's for sure.
SPEAKER_00Do you guys ever go racing, race each other?
SPEAKER_01I'm trying to figure out like a happy medium of um, you know, do we already do dirt bikes, rick kind of racing side of things, or car racing side of things? Obviously, they're still pretty young. So uh we do like to get a little competitive and go uh to like different uh carting places and go play around at the electric carts or the gas carts that are in the DFW area.
SPEAKER_02I like beating him.
The Trust Promise And Who They Serve
SPEAKER_00Now, you know, at the heart of your business, what is the biggest takeaway you would like our listeners to gather from learning about BSP Motorsports?
SPEAKER_01Biggest takeaway. Um just know that not every automotive shop is the same. Getting back to the misconception, you know, like a lot of people were um think that you know automotive shops are out to get them. Um this is why I have my service manager uh Chelsea and my wife Chelsea. That's a whole other story. Yes, we have two Chelsea's here. Um they run the office. I mean, like I love for a female to be able to call and you know ask about automotive, and they're also talking to a female and they feel a little bit more comfortable. Um, you know, like again, we're here to gain trust, we're here for um doing what's needed, you know, on making repairs on your vehicle.
SPEAKER_02And we genuinely care. We care about the customer, we care about the outcome, and we want the best for them. We're not just in it looking to make a buck off of them or try to charge them the most that we can. We really want to give them a reliable vehicle, whatever vehicle that it is, and do it for a right cost and do right by them.
SPEAKER_00Well, it's clear that both of your hearts are there for the business. So, final question for you both today.
How To Find BSP Motorsports
SPEAKER_00We've covered so much wonderful information, but where can our listeners go to learn more about BSP Motorsports?
SPEAKER_01Best place to go would be our website, uh, would be BSPmotorsports.com. Um, give us a follow on Facebook, Instagram. Uh all under BSP Motorsports. Uh, we also have a YouTube channel that we're kind of working on putting some things out with. And then also like feel free to give us a call. I mean, on my website, I have our uh our phone number to the shop here. Um, we definitely are are here to serve and we're here to answer your questions. Um whatever it may be.
SPEAKER_00Well, Brandon and Chelsea, I really appreciate you both being on the show today. We wish you and your business the best moving forward.
