What makes Logan Hassinger with Sage Senior Support a good neighbor?
We talk with Logan Hassinger about one of the most emotional transitions many families ever face: helping an aging parent move into a safer living environment while navigating the decisions that come with selling a longtime family home. Logan explains why these situations require more than a real estate transaction—they require education, compassion, and a trusted guide.
We discuss the challenges families often face after a dementia diagnosis or when assisted living or memory care becomes necessary. Logan shares how Sage Senior Support helps adult children navigate the many moving pieces of a senior housing transition, providing practical guidance while recognizing the emotional weight that comes with leaving a home filled with decades of memories.
One of the biggest misconceptions we address is the concern that investors are looking to take advantage of seniors and their families. Logan explains how transparency builds trust by walking clients through comparable market analyses, neighborhood values, property condition, and the renovation costs that influence an offer. Even when the numbers aren’t what a family hoped for, understanding how they’re calculated helps people make informed decisions with confidence.
We also talk about the importance of education before a crisis occurs. Logan shares why Sage Senior Support invests in creating articles, resources, and educational content that answer common questions and help families understand their options before making a difficult decision. His goal is to reduce confusion and empower families with information they can trust.
The conversation also explores how Logan’s faith influences the way he serves others. He believes every family deserves to be treated with honesty, respect, and compassion during one of life’s most challenging seasons, and that commitment shapes every interaction.
If you’re navigating a senior move, helping an aging parent transition to assisted living or memory care, or looking for guidance on selling a family home in the DFW area, this conversation offers practical insight and encouragement for the journey ahead.

Welcome To Good Neighbor Podcast
SPEAKER_00This is the Good Neighbor Podcast, the place where local businesses and neighbors come together. Here's your host, Sophia Yvette.
SPEAKER_01Welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast. Are you in native a senior transition advocate? Well, one may be closer than you think. Today I have the pleasure of introducing our good neighbor, Logan Hassinger, with Sage Senior Support. Logan, it's wonderful to have you on today. Now we are so excited to learn more about you and your business.
What Sage Senior Support Does
SPEAKER_01So go ahead and tell our listeners just a little bit more about your company.
SPEAKER_02Sure. Thank you, Sophia, for having me on today. Business Sage Senior Support is centered around real estate services that help a family in transition. Transition for us means they are the adult child, typically in their 40s to 60s, is helping a mother or a father or an uncle, a senior loved one moving from their existing home and into some form of senior living. That could be assisted living, memory care, even 55 plus communities, or maybe they've inherited a home after the passing of the loved one. And so we try to provide some options around the transition and that do that through real estate.
A Family Story Becomes A Mission
SPEAKER_01So, Logan, where was your passion for this industry born?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So this passion for me really derived from my own personal experience with family. So 10, 12 years ago, my wife and I ended up purchasing her grandmother's home after she was diagnosed with cancer. Grandfather had passed. And so they needed some additional care that couldn't be brought in home. And we'd simply just bought the home, moved in, and those proceeds went along to help my in-laws pay for that care. And then five, six years later, you know, I was buying rental property, fixing flips, and you know, the typical investor path and was really trying to figure out my own niche, my own way of diversifying and providing some value. And so I kind of leveraged that experience and you know, asked myself some questions around what would it look like if we served in a different way beyond just the transaction of, you know, buying the home and giving a family quick access to funds, but really giving them guidance around the transition out and whether that's you know, placement or home health, home care, hospice. Sometimes there are a lot of resources within the senior living space that most families just don't know about. So try to bring those to light and make it a little bit easier on them as they navigate that that move.
Tackling Investor Mistrust With Transparency
SPEAKER_01I love that. Now we are gonna get into the most common misconception that you typically face because I'm sure there's a few in your industry. So go ahead and name one or two of those for our audience today.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the the biggest one is definitely I'm an investor going to take advantage of the situation through a low ball offer and giving a family just a number that works for me but doesn't really work for them, knowing that they need to move quickly. And so I'm taking advantage of it. And so we try to combat that misconception through transparency. I used to write a number on a yellow legal pad, provide it to them after walking the home and saying, Call me if you need me, if that works for you. Really connecting with the family, not asking questions about really what's going on with transparency of you know putting together a neighborhood analysis. Most real estate agents would call it a CMA or a comparative market analysis, gives them some insights into what homes are selling for in their neighborhood, and then with a condition of those homes. So if they move in ready, are they needing some work? And most, you know, all of our projects are we're going to get them up to par so that they are moving ready, walking the family through the renovations, all the things that we would do to get that value, and then provide them an offer. They may not like the number, and that's okay, but we at least give some visibility into what and how we got there.
SPEAKER_01I love how you have this full spectrum approach that you walk your clients
Finding The Right Families Through Content
SPEAKER_01through. Now we're gonna go ahead and switch gears here for a second. We do know that marketing is the heart of every business. So who is the ideal family you're looking to help? And how are you attracting them today?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So the ideal family is from just who we've served in the past, is typically somebody from you know, 40s, maybe late 50s, early 60s that has an elderly loved one that maybe contemplating or recognizing signs that mom and dad isn't so safe at home anymore entails a whole set of emotions of you know, loss of independence and just the forcing a move when you told them you would never do this to them. So there's a lot going on just between the ears of a family making that decision. And so for us, that's who we typically serve as somebody that is that is going through that. And today, you know, we we do a lot with content. So we're early on, about a year ago, we were doing daily blogs just on what to do after a dementia diagnosis to what should a cash offer look like from somebody. So trying to cover a decent broad spectrum of topics just on the website. We're also publishing videos and infographics and just different social content on some different websites. We do some YouTube videos that are kind of some b-roll and some different things to try to just share with people what we do at the different channels that they may be taking in content.
SPEAKER_01Wow, Logan, you are doing so much on the content creating front. Have you ever thought about your own podcast for the business before?
SPEAKER_02Now we do a version and call it a faceless podcast because I'm not I'm not the voice nor the face. It is our content that's going into it to create the podcast. And so we've got some things on iTunes and Amazon and Spotify where it's two voiceovers talking about a topic that I'm feeding it and giving context from you know my own clients. You know, names are not disclosed, but we at least kind of share some experiences through the reviews we've gotten, or just visiting with families. And so we've created a podcast that is out there, but you know, it's not my voice. If you if you jump over there to listen to that, you're like, hey, that's not the guy, it is not.
SPEAKER_01That's a very interesting approach.
Family Life And A Faith Journey
SPEAKER_01Now, Logan, outside of work, what do you and your family like to do for fun?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I've got three girls, five, ten, and twelve. Two oldest are heavy into soccer. So we've got a lot of days consumed with soccer practice during the summer right now, and as we as we get back into school. So my my oldest, she's going into middle school. So we're kind of getting her ready for for what that looks like. My wife loves to play pickleball, try to get out there every once in a while and play passionate about the gym. I'm always I'm at the gym every morning, getting in there and trying to stay fit and healthy, and really it in my faith. Um, I've come a long way in my journey of finding Christ. As a kid, you know, you go to church, do your thing, just start praying and trying to find some some answered prayers. And so over the last couple of years, that has definitely been a key piece of my life, which has been my faith. So wow.
SPEAKER_01So, Logan, does your faith play a role in how you run your business today?
SPEAKER_02Absolutely, absolutely. One of the biggest things if you go to our website, you're not gonna see Sage Senior Support, you know, a faith-based business. So it's not explicitly called out in what we do, it is more in how we treat people and how we just be there for somebody, as I would want somebody being there for me if I were going through that situation, or just simply treat them like my grandmother. The golden rule treat others like you want to be treated. That's that's how we run the business.
SPEAKER_01Amen to that. Now, final question for you. Where can our listeners go to learn more about Sage Senior Support, the best place for them to really our website?
SPEAKER_02We've put in a lot of hours into just resources across the senior living journey, recognizing signs to you know the logistics of a move and the emotional toll that it that is taking place on both sides.
Resources, Website, And How To Connect
SPEAKER_02And then we, of course, have our dialed in deep dives into the real estate piece. We've got just over 200 blog posts on the site. So we've really been putting an effort to it to putting a lot of content that isn't just surface level, how to do this and blah blah. And it really trying to connect people with local resources, especially within the DFW area, a lot of nonprofits that can help from financially to you know food banks. People struggle in in all different ways. And so we try to provide some some guidance around just a senior because I feel like a lot of those are left behind.
SPEAKER_01Well, Logan, I really appreciate you being on the show today. We wish you and your business the best moving forward.
