What makes Chardé Perry with De Beauty Spa a good neighbor?
You can feel it in your shoulders, your jaw, and the way you stare at a screen all day: stress is getting physical. We talk with Chardé Perry from De Beauty Spa in Frisco, Texas, about what it takes to build a true day spa experience that feels luxurious without charging luxury prices—and why “care” is more than a nice word on a website.
Chardé shares her foundation as a massage therapist with 16 years of experience and a degree in health science. She explains how she expanded her expertise into aesthetics, body contouring, and hair removal through ongoing training. Along the way, she clears up a common misconception that spa professionals don’t understand the body or skin deeply. We get into what she’s learned about muscles, skin health, and hair growth stages, plus how that knowledge translates into better recommendations and client experiences.
We also walk through what a visit is like from the moment you arrive: a warm welcome and a spa suite designed with the senses in mind. From visuals and scent to temperature, sound, and lighting, Chardé explains how the environment is designed around comfort and personalization.
She also breaks down how long an appointment can take when combining services such as facial massage, waxing, lashes, makeup, and body contouring. One important safety reminder she shares is that facial waxing and a facial should not be done on the same day. She also offers a complimentary consultation for body contouring so clients can discuss their goals and determine whether the service is the right fit before committing.
To wrap up, we talk about stress, overstimulation, and the physical toll of modern life. Chardé explains why massage therapy and lymphatic drainage can be valuable ways to address the tension that builds from screen time, repetitive movements, tight shoulders, and poor posture.
You’ll also hear Chardé’s simple mindset rule for tough days: bad moments can happen, but they don’t get to steal the whole day.

Welcome To Good Neighbor Podcast
SPEAKER_01This is the Good Neighbor Podcast, the place where local businesses and neighbors come together. Here's your host, Sophia Yvette.
SPEAKER_02Welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast. Are you in need of a beauty spa? Well, one may be closer than you think. Today I have the pleasure of introducing a good neighbor, Sharday Perry, with The Beauty Spa. Sharday, it's wonderful to have you on today. Now we're excited to learn all about you and your business. So tell us just a little bit more about your company.
Building Luxury Without High Prices
SPEAKER_00So my company wants to bring each and every client a luxury spa without the luxury prices. We offer a full day of services. So everything aesthetics, everything massage therapy, everything body contouring, and everything hair removal.
SPEAKER_02Wow, that sounds like quite an experience.
How Sharday Entered Spa Work
SPEAKER_02How did you originally get into this industry? Were you a cosmetologist or an aesthetician?
SPEAKER_00So my first um entry into the business was massage therapy. I've been a massage therapist for 16 years. So I went to college for massage therapy. I wanted to be a medical massage therapist. So I do have a health science degree in massage therapy. So once I moved to Texas, that's what expanded my um passion for learning other things to do with spa or care. And so um that's when I started taking other schools and other courses to learn other modalities.
SPEAKER_02Wow. Now, today in your industry, what is the most common misconception you really get asked on the day-to-day about what you do?
SPEAKER_00The biggest misconception, that's a good question. Um, I think that we don't know as much as we do about the human body or the skin. I think the most misconception is that we didn't learn enough, but we really learn a lot and we can go deep into, you know, telling you about your muscles, telling you about your skin, telling you about your hair and the hair growth stages. So I think the biggest misconception is thinking that we don't know as much as we do.
SPEAKER_02Very
Marketing And Who The Spa Serves
SPEAKER_02true. Now we're gonna go ahead and switch gears here for a second. We do know that marketing is the heart of every business. So ideally, who are you looking to attract and how are you reaching them?
SPEAKER_00So ideally, I would like to attract people probably like 27 to 67 will probably be my main audience. Um, mostly women, but I do love for men to come too because they need as much care as women. Um, right now I'm mostly on social media. Um, I do want to start doing networking events more.
SPEAKER_02Very cool. And have you ever thought about having your own podcast for your business before?
SPEAKER_00No, I never thought about having a podcast for my particular business, but I did write a book to help people online date. So I thought about doing a podcast for my book.
SPEAKER_02Very interesting.
The Client Experience From The Door
SPEAKER_02Now, diving back into the beauty industry here for a second, you know, go ahead and tell us a little bit more about what you do. You gave us a really good overview, but what is like the day in the life that experience as a client walking in to your spa?
SPEAKER_00So, as a client walking into my spa, you're first gonna be greeted at the front, and then you're gonna be brought back to our spa suite. So that's where your spa experience begins because visuals first. So you're first gonna come in and you're gonna see the spa, which is nice. Um, also it's smell next, right? So depending on your service, um, it might be some aromatherapy or things of that sort there. Next is gonna be your um dress down, you're gonna dress down to the level of service you're receiving. So rather that's a full body massage, you're gonna dress down to just your undies, and then you get under the sheet and cover, which I make sure the um table is very comfy for each person. Um, rather that's temperature or sound or lighting, I like to adjust all those to each person's needs. Um, next is doing your service. So whichever service you choose is what we're gonna do. And then getting feedback from you, or if you want a very quiet session, then I'll like to ask, I like to ask everything that you need ahead of time. So that way your session is quiet.
SPEAKER_02Now you said it's an all-day experience. So, how many different services do you factor into this one day?
SPEAKER_00So it depends on if how long somebody wants to be with me. So the average client comes to me for an hour because they'll do like one service, but if they're doing multiple services, then it can be three hours. So I do so say you want a facial massage or facial massage and wax, facial massage, wax lashes. Now you're with me a lot longer, you know. So I do facial massages, waxing, lashes, makeup. I do a plethora of things. Oh, body contouring. So you can just spend the day with me if you really want to.
SPEAKER_02Well,
Smart Service Pairings And Consults
SPEAKER_02that sounds wonderful. And are there any services that you don't want to combine together so you don't have any adverse reactions or anything like that for our audience to know?
SPEAKER_00So waxing and facial, like facial waxing and a facial doesn't go well together on the same day unless you um no, yeah, you just can't do those two on the same day. But you can do like your body wax and a facial the same day. And then anything else can be combined together. Everything else can go on the same visit.
SPEAKER_02Very cool. Do you offer any free consultations for your services?
SPEAKER_00Yes, I offer a free consultation for body contouring so that way we can see what your goals are, what your needs are, and if um day beauty spa is a good fit for you.
SPEAKER_02Wonderful. Now, what about outside of work? What do you like to do for fun? Do you like to treat yourself?
SPEAKER_00So I love a spa day myself. So I do love massages. My birthday was a couple of weeks ago, and I did a full spa day. So I like to give a spa day and I like to get a spa day. I also love to dance. So anything dancing, I love to be there. So those are my main two um off day type of like things that I love to
Care Philosophy And Best Treatments
SPEAKER_00do.
SPEAKER_02Very cool. Now, Sardet, overall, what number one takeaway you let would you like our listeners to gather from learning about day beauty spa?
SPEAKER_00The number one thing I want people to take away is that I care about each and every person that comes into my business. And so with me, you're gonna get care, you're gonna get professionalism, and you're also sometimes leave with like a best friend. So I just really care about each and every person that comes into my office, and I definitely just want to do the right treatments for you. And I am very, very knowledgeable about each and every treatment.
SPEAKER_02What are some most important things our listeners should know about what are the best treatments overall to get in general?
SPEAKER_00So I would say the best overall treatment right now in this climate is massage therapy or lymphatic drainage because right now we're all overstimulated, we're all overstressed, and sometimes we don't have as much human touch, human um interaction. And our muscles are so tight right now. We have so many people working on computers. Um, if they're in college or school, they're leaning over desks, they're studying. Um, we're all working on our phones. We're just really tightening our muscles, our hands, our wrists, our shoulders, just so much going on with each and every person right now. I don't think anybody is exempt from stress right now. So massage therapy is an amazing way to get stress relief.
SPEAKER_02That's wonderful. Now, are there any final words of wisdom you have for our audience today before we wrap up, Sardin?
SPEAKER_00So, my number one word of wisdom is to never have a bad day. And I say that knowing that you're gonna have bad moments, right? But in that bad moment, you do not let that steal your day. Just let that moment be a moment and then move on and just know that the rest of your day will be good.
How To Book And Nominate Locals
SPEAKER_02Well, Sardet, we covered some really great information today, but our final question to cover is going to be where should listeners go to learn more about your beauty services and book a session with you.
SPEAKER_00So the number one way to um get all my information is on the website. So it's www.debeautyspa.com. And that's gonna bring you to my social media. That's gonna bring you to all the services I provide, as well as the booking link.
SPEAKER_02Well, Sharday, I really appreciate you being on the show today. We wish you and your business the best moving forward.
SPEAKER_00Thank you so much. I appreciate you having me.
