Hi, Performers and Achievers. Welcome to Performers and Chievers Daily with me, Raj Gavrella. And today's episode is about response and reaction. Or it could be reaction and response. Had a question from someone. They were asking, When do you respond? And then when do you react? And somewhere they learned or heard that to control their response, or to control their reaction, or they heard to respond or to react, or to do one or the other. Respond or react. Essentially, you're doing both. Yes, you use both. The difference is that a reaction is more muscle memory. And so you're able to react. It's not just emotion, it's muscle memory. And then a response is more tactical, it's calculated, it's strategic. So that's very important for this individual that I'm mentioning that he realized and understands that he uses both. Somewhere, somewhere, not sure exactly where he was trained or told or instructed to use one or the other as in response or react. He didn't have the option of using one or the other. It was just respond. Or it was just react. And in reality you do both. You do both. Now depending upon the situation, you'll have more of one versus the other. However, you do have both. And you are in control of both. So don't get too caught up on the control part. Just think tactical or strategic or something to that effect for response. And then react again is muscle memory. It's not emotion. It's muscle memory. And probably whomever it is that he was learning from or received training or instruction or teaching, they were referring to react as in emotions. And I'm not saying for you to react emotionally, you react with your muscle memory. There's a difference there. So depending upon again the situation, whatever profession you're in, whatever sport you play, and then obviously the specific position that you have in your profession, and the specific position you have in your sport, you use both of these. However, depending upon those factors, you'll use one or the other more often. That's what I have for you today. If you like my podcast, like it.
