Andy Oliver
Andy Oliver was born in Hartlepool and began acting from a young age, appearing in Byker Grove, The Night Detective and many theatre productions.
Andy stopped drinking in 2009 and started to play music again, he wrote songs about his struggles and the people who helped him through. His wife Jan & friends encouraged him to record the songs and his debut single was released in 2011, it took him into the top 20 songwriters charts on Apple Music. He has worked with revered musicians and has received praise from Don Mclean, Glenn Campbell, REM’s Michael Stipe and Mike Mills. He has written scores for feature films, documentaries and he has won several awards for his songwriting in the US and Europe.
The Podcast idea came to Andy as he thought on how music had saved him and the power of the arts. He hopes the show will introduce artists from the Antrim Coast and Glens and that they discuss how music, art, poetry or dance have shaped their lives.
