The Mechanics of Transportation
How can I get drivers to slow down in my neighborhood? What’s Vision Zero all about? Why does it take so long to get a sidewalk/bike lane or a reduced speed limit approved? Welcome to the Mechanics of Transportation – a podcast that will answer these questions as well as introduce you to people who you may want to share a bike ride, bus ride or walk with.

Mental Health Ride
In this episode of the Mechanics of Transportation, you get to take a ride with me on a mental health ride.
Like many of us, getting exercise not only helps us stay fit and healthy, but it helps us maintain our mental health.
According to an article from last year featured on the League of American Cyclists–a group that has been around since 1880, there are numerous benefits to your mental health when you ride a bike. They list 5 mental health benefits.
These include: Improving your mood; a better connection with nature; it relieves stress; and it gives you better interaction with your community and chances of social interaction.
So, I’m sharing this post from my YouTube Channel IanStewartCycles, from a recent ride I did to try and get out of a funk that was trying to bring me down. You can check out the ride there, as well as my other rides and some of my interviews not featured here.
So, grab your helmet and let’s take a ride.
