A Contaminated Gospel: When a Little Leaven Gets Mixed in the Yeast

Tammy Toney-Butler Season 1 Episode 22

Are we compromised as a church? Has deception crept in and brought contamination within the body?

Today's message and teaching look at when a little leaven gets mixed in the yeast.

Tammy Toney-Butler gives us powerful teachings and prophetic words.

A purified bride (church) must rise in this hour and guide a lost generation to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A church that is non-compromising, loving, and following the steps laid out for all believers to follow throughout the scriptures and spoken Word of God.

A PowerPoint presentation with scriptural references eases the learner into a transformative experience.

Tammy is a lived experience expert whose unique teaching style and trauma-focused lens perspective offer the learner an environment conducive to healing mind, body, and spirit.

Tammy Toney-Butler, as a teenager, survived the loss of her father to suicide. She overcame being a victim of child sex trafficking and is a powerful testimony of faith in action.

Tammy is outspoken in her mission to provide a trauma-responsive pulpit and compassionate, merciful lens through which one offers pastoral support.

About Tammy Toney-Butler: https://www.reflectivespacesministry.com/about

Hello. Welcome to today's teaching and message. I'm Tammy Toney-Butler with Reflective Spaces Ministry. Thank you so much for everyone that's joining us today from all over the world. We thank you for listening and for liking and subscribing to our channels and sharing this content so that God's message can get sent far and wide. The Lord placed on me a teaching over the past few days, and I've been building it, and it's been very challenging. And that's what he likes to do. It's been a place of discomfort for me, so I know his hand is all over it. I would ask you that if you maybe grab your Bibles, if you would like, and also grab something to write down, because we're going to be covering a lot of content. And he did have me do a PowerPoint presentation, quite a few slides, but I just believe it's best to have something to look at, especially if English might not be your primary language. Holy Spirit, just come. Have your way in this time that we have together. May they see you and not me. May they glean your knowledge, your wisdom. May it penetrate bone and marrow. May any veils be lifted off of their eyes so they can see and their ears so they can hear. So that the spiritual wisdom and insight and understanding that you want them to take away from this, that your will is done and that happens. Oh Father, thank you so much for being with us. Holy Spirit for guiding me into all truth. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, amen. All right, we're gonna get started in the teaching and I'm gonna bring up the PowerPoint on the slide here. Today's teaching is going to be on a contaminated gospel. when a little leaven gets mixed in the yeast. Again, a contaminated gospel when a little leaven gets mixed in the yeast. Pure gospel of truth. What makes a pure gospel of truth, the pure gospel of truth? Well, we only need to look at scripture as our guide. When we look at scripture, we won't be swayed along a path of deception because we have our roadmap. We have our compass. It's the infallible word of God. The word is living and breathing and alive. And we see that. We see that it comes alive even in the hearts of God's people so that it can grow and branch off and to yield a bountiful harvest. So let's look at starting with John six, twenty five out of the NIV, Jesus, the bread of life. When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, Rabbi, when did you get here? Jesus answered, very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed, but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. That's John six, twenty six of the NIV. Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him, God the Father has placed his seal of approval. Then they asked him, what must we do to do the works God requires? Jesus answered, the work of God is this, to believe in the one he has sent. So they asked him, what sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? John six, thirty out of the NIV. Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, as it is written. He gave them bread from heaven to eat. John six thirty one. Out of the NIV. Jesus said to them, very truly, I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my father who gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. Sir, they said, always give us this bread. John six, thirty four. Then Jesus declared, I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. John six, thirty five out of the NIV. But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. John six, thirty six. All those the father gives me will come to me and whoever comes to me, I will never drive away. John six, thirty seven. Let's read that again. All those the father gives me will come to me and whoever comes to me, I'll never drive them away. You're never too dirty. You're never too full of shame to seek out the healing power of Lord Jesus. For I've come down from heaven, not to do my will, but to do the will of him who sent me. John six, thirty eight of the NIV. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my will, but to do the will of him who sent me. Even Jesus knew it was all about the kingdom and doing the will of the father. It's all about submission and surrender. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. Boy, doesn't that speak of a good shepherd, doesn't want to lose any of the flock. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my father's will is that everyone who looks to the son and believes in him shall have eternal life. And I will raise them up at the last day. John six, forty out of the NIV. A contaminated gospel. Isaiah forty four, six. Now, before we started Isaiah forty four six, the Lord has placed on my heart to read Isaiah forty four, and then we're going to actually focus on forty four six. And I am actually going to be reading out of the New Living Translation, Isaiah forty four. But now listen to me, Jacob, my servant, servant Israel, my chosen one. The Lord who made you and helps you says, do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant. O dear Israel, my chosen one, for I will pour out water to quench your thirst and to irrigate your parched fields. And I will pour out my spirit on your descendants and my blessing on your children. They will thrive like watered grass, like willows on a riverbank. some will proudly claim I belong to the lord others will say I am a descendant of jacob some will write the lord's name on their hands and will take the name of israel as their own the foolishness of idols this is what the lord says israel's king and redeemer the lord of heaven's armies I am the first and the last there is no other god who is like me Let him step forward and prove to you his power. Let him do as I have done since ancient times when I established a people and explained its future. Do not tremble. Do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim my purposes for you long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any other God? No, there is no other rock, not one. How foolish are those who manufacture idols. These prized objects are really worthless. The people who worship idols don't know this, so they all are put to shame. Who but a fool would make his own God an idol that cannot help him one bit? All who worship idols will be disgraced, along with all these craftsmen, mere humans, who claim they can make a god. They may all stand together, but they will stand in terror and shame. For the blacksmith stands at his forge to make a sharp tool, pounding and shaping it with all his might. His work makes him hungry and weak. It makes him thirsty and faint. Then the woodcarver measures a block of wood and draws a pattern on it. He works with chisel and plane and carves it into a human figure. He gives it human beauty and puts it in a little shrine. He cuts down cedars. He selects the cypress and the oak. He plants the pine in the forest to be nourished by the rain. Then he uses part of the wood to make a fire. With it, he warms himself and bakes his bread. Then, yes, it's true, he takes the rest of it and makes himself a god to worship. He makes an idol and bows down in front of it. He burns part of the tree to roast his meat and to keep himself warm. He says, ah, that fire feels good. Then he takes what's left and makes his god a carved idol. He falls down in front of it, worshiping and praying to it. Rescue me, he says, you are my God. Such stupidity and ignorance. Their eyes are closed and they cannot see. Their minds are shut and they cannot think. The person who made the idol never stops to reflect why it's just a block of wood. I burn half of it for heat and use it to make my bread and roast my meat. How can the rest of it be a god? Should I bow down to worship a piece of wood? The poor, deluded fool feeds on ashes. He trusts something that can't help him at all, yet he cannot bring himself to ask, is this idol that I'm holding in my mind a lie? Is there any of you that are like that? that you just don't want to ask certain questions of the Lord or question certain things that you see because you don't really want the answer because the answer might mean that you would need to walk a different path, choose a different lifestyle, go forth on a different maybe area of ministry. that you wouldn't necessarily choose, but it's the path that he's leading you on? These are difficult questions. The poor deluded fool feeds on ashes. He trusts something that can't help him, yet he cannot bring himself to ask, is this idol that I'm holding in my hand alive? Restoration for Jerusalem. Pay attention, O Jacob, for you are my servant, O Israel. I, the Lord, made you, and I will not forget you. I have swept away your sins like a cloud. I have scattered your offenses like the morning mist. O return to me, for I have paid the price to set you free. Sing, O heavens, for the Lord has done this wondrous thing. Shout for joy, O depths of the earth. Break into song, O mountains and forests and every tree, for the Lord has redeemed Jacob and is glorified in Israel. This is what the Lord says, your Redeemer and Creator. I am the Lord who made all things. I alone stretch out the heavens, stretch out the heavens. Who was with me when I made the earth? I expose the false prophets as liars and make fools of fortune tellers. I cause the wise to give bad advice, thus proving them to be fools. But I carry out the predictions of my prophets. By them I say to Jerusalem, people will live here again. And to the towns of Judah, you will be rebuilt. I will restore all your ruins. When I speak to the rivers and say, dry up, they'll be dry. When I say of Cyrus, he is my shepherd. He will certainly do as I say. He will command, rebuild Jerusalem. He will stay, restore the temple. Wow. Wow. Wow. So now we're going to look a little bit more at Isaiah forty four six. The Lord wanted me to hone in on this little bit of scripture here. The Lord not idols. This is what the Lord says. Israel's king and redeemer, the Lord Almighty. I'm the first and I'm the last. Apart from me, there is no God. Isaiah forty four seven of the New International Version. Who then is like me? Let him proclaim it. Let him declare and lay out before me what has happened since I established my ancient people. And what is yet to come? Yes, let them foretell what will come. Isaiah forty four eight. New International Version. Do not tremble. Do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other rock. I know not one. Isaiah forty four nine. New International Version. All who make idols are nothing and the things they treasure are worthless. Those who would speak up for them are blind. They are ignorant to their own shame. New International Version, Isaiah forty four ten. Who shapes a God and casts an idol which can profit nothing? Isaiah forty four eleven. New International Version. People who do that will be put to shame. Such craftsmen are only human beings. Let them all come together and take their stand. They will be brought down to terror and shame. Isaiah forty four twelve. The blacksmith takes a tool and works with it in the coals. He shakes an idol with hammers. He forges it with the might of his arm. He gets hungry and loses his strength. He drinks no water and grows faint. The work of their hands makes them faint, hungry, and thirsty. They do not give life, but cause spiritual famine and death to my sheep. That's what he's saying. There is nothing that can bring peace and strength and joy, lack of fear and love other than knowing Jesus, Lord Jesus. Abba Father, the Father of our precious Lord Jesus, of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It is that truth, that promise, that brings you to a place of peace that surpasses all understanding. It breaks off the spirit of fear and replaces it with peace and joy. That's the gospel. Now, he wants us to look at Leviticus. So I'm going to go to Leviticus two, and I'm giving you in the order in which the Holy Spirit led me to them, and I have studied them. Leviticus two. Procedures for the grain offering. When you present grain as an offering to the Lord, the offering must consist of choice flour. You are to pour olive oil on it, sprinkle it with frankincense and bring it to Aaron's sons, the priest. The priest will scoop out a handful of the flour moistened with oil together with all the frankincense and burn this representative portion on the altar. It is a special gift of pleasing aroma to the Lord. The rest of the grain offering will then be given to Aaron and his sons. This offering will be considered a most holy part of the special gifts presented to the Lord. If your offering is a grain offering baked in an oven, it must be made of choice flour but without any yeast. It may be presented in the form of thin cakes mixed with olive oil or wafers spread with olive oil. If your grain offering is cooked on a griddle, it must be made of choice flour mixed with olive oil but without any yeast. There's that again, but without any yeast. Break it in pieces and pour olive oil on it. It is a grain offering. If your grain offering is prepared in a pan, it must be made of choice flour and olive oil. No matter how a grain offering for the Lord has been prepared, bring it to the priest and who will present it at the altar. The priest will take a representative portion of the grain offering and burn it on the altar. It is a special gift of pleasing aroma to the Lord. The rest of the grain offering will then be given to Aaron and his sons as their food. This offering will be considered a most holy part of the special gifts presented to the Lord. Do not use yeast in preparing any of the grain offerings you present to the Lord, because no yeast or honey may be burned as a special gift presented to the Lord. You may add yeast and honey to an offering of the first crops of your harvest, but these must never be offered on the altar as a pleasing aroma to the Lord. Season all your grain offerings with salt to remind you of God's eternal covenant. Never forget to add salt to your grain offerings. If you present a grain offering to the Lord from the first portion of your harvest, bring fresh grain that is coarsely ground and roasted on a fire. Put olive oil on the grain offering and sprinkle it with frankincense. This priest will take a representative portion of the grain, moisten with oil together with all the frankincense and burn it as a special gift presented to the Lord. Wow. So let's dive into that just a little bit more and see where God is leading us. So let's look at Leviticus two, eleven, the New International Version. Let's look at it again. I was actually reading out of the New Living Translation. Every grain offering you bring to the Lord must be made without yeast or leaven. For you are not to burn any yeast or honey in a food offering presented to the Lord. Leaven in the Bible is used metaphorically to represent something that spreads and contaminates a whole system such as sin, corruption, and false doctrine. Let me read that again. Leaven in the Bible is used metaphorically to represent something that spreads and contaminates a whole system such as sin, corruption, and false doctrine. Leviticus two, twelve new international version. You may bring them to the Lord as an offering of the first fruits, but they are not to be offered on the altar as a pleasing aroma. Now, Leviticus two, thirteen new international version. Season all your grain offerings with salt. Do not leave the salt of the covenant of your God out of your grain offerings. Add salt to all your offerings. Salt is used metaphorically in the Bible to represent the peace, graciousness and wisdom that allow us to interact with others in a godly way throughout passages of scripture. Let's look at Colossians four, the new international version. Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair because you know that you also have a master in heaven. Colossians four to NIV. Further instructions. Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us too that God may open a door for our message so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ for whom I am in chains. Colossians four, three of the NIV. Now four, four out of the NIV Colossians. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly as I should. Be wise in the way you act towards outsiders. Make the most of every opportunity. Colossians four, five, New International Version. Now for six, let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt so that you may know how to answer everyone. Now let's look at the rise of hypocrisy and apostasy in the church. If the leaven, an active ingredient added to the yeast to make the dough rise is contaminated, the entire loaf of bread can be negatively affected, thus impacting its purity. Jesus speaks of the leaven, corrupt doctrine of the Pharisees and the Sadducees, the religious leaders of the air. Matthew, sixteen, six, NIV. Be careful, Jesus said to them, be on your guard against the yeast Pharisees and the Sadducees. Another quality in lemon is noticed in the Bible, namely its secretly penetrating and diffusive power. In this respect, it was emblematic of moral influence generally. whether good or bad, and hence our Savior adapts it as illustrating the growth of the kingdom of heaven in the individual heart and in the world at large. Let me read that again. In the respect, it was emblematic of moral influence generally, whether good or bad. And hence our savior adoption is illustrating the growth of the kingdom of heaven in the individual heart and in the world at large, because its source is from without. It is secret in its operation. It spreads by contact of particle with particle. It is widely diffusive. One particle of leaven being able to change any number of particles of flour. And because it does not act like water, moistening a certain amount of flour, but is like a plant changing the particles it comes in contact with into its own nature with light propagating power. Wow. And that came out of Dr. William Smith's entry for Levin out of the Smith's Bible Dictionary of nineteen oh one of the sources there listed. So let me go back and look at that again. I just think that we need to sit here for just a minute and just digest this food and what he's trying to say. And hence our Savior adopts it as illustrating the growth of the kingdom of heaven in the individual heart and in the world at large because its source is It's from without. It is secret in its operation. It spreads by contact of particle with particle and is widely diffusive. One particle of leaven being able to change any number of particles of flour. And because it does not act like water moistening a certain amount of flour, but it is like a plant changing the particles it comes in contact with into its own nature with light propagating It gives rise to false doctrine, which gives rise to false preaching and teaching. It gives rise to the destruction of the purified, original, life-giving message of the gospel. It metastasizes like cancer through the body, the church. It bursts a mob mentality of deception. Just like a hidden, often undetected contaminant such as mold can negatively impact the entire home and all its occupants physically, so can a contaminated gospel spiritually. Let me read it again. Just like a hidden, often undetected contaminant such as mold can negatively impact the entire home, and its occupants physically, so can a contaminated gospel spiritually. True Christianity satisfies all hunger, quenches all thirst, delivers, restores, redeems, and brings one into abundant life. Purity versus contamination. Mark five demonstrates the true gospel through these compassionate acts of mercy. And let's first read Mark five and then we will look at it a little bit further. Jesus heals a demon possessed man. So they arrived at the other side of the lake in the region of the Gerasenes. When Jesus climbed out of the boat, a man possessed by an evil spirit came out from a cemetery to meet him. He was in a place of death, a cemetery. This man lived among the burial caves and could no longer be restrained even with a chain. Whenever he was put into chains and shackles, as he often was, he snapped the chains from his wrist and smashed the shackles. He was kept caged up like an animal. No one was strong enough to subdue him. Day and night, he wandered among the burial caves and in the hills, howling and cutting himself with sharp stones, self-mutilating himself. Some of you've done that. You've self-mutilated, caused yourself self-harm because you've been in your own place of death and darkness, not seeing your way out, bound by chains, invisible maybe, leftover residue from your past. It's difficult to walk through that. When Jesus was still some distance away, the man saw him, ran to meet him and bowed low before him. With a shriek, he screamed, why are you interfering with me, Jesus, son of the most high God? In the name of God, I beg you, don't torture me. For Jesus had already said to the spirit, come out of the man, you evil spirit. Then Jesus demanded, what is your name? And he replied, My name is Legion, because there are many of us inside this man. Then the evil spirits begged him again and again not to send them to some distant place. There happened to be a large herd of pigs feeding on the hillside nearby. Send us into those pigs, the spirits begged. Let us enter them. So Jesus gave them permission. The evil spirits came out of the man and entered the pigs and the entire herd of about two thousand pigs plunged down the steep hillside into the lake and drowned in the water. The herdsmen fled to the nearby town and the surrounding countryside, spreading the news as they ran. They could not run quick enough to start gossiping or telling the news of what had happened. And some of them, I'm sure, were not very happy because that was revenue, the pigs. That's how they were going to get money. So their livelihood just went off the cliff. So some of them were concerned about their economics. conditions and prosperity. And instead of them looking to Jesus, the Savior, the cross, the kingdom of God and putting it first, recognizing everything comes from Him, they put their trust in money and man and in the economic fortitude of the times. People rushed out to see what happened. A crowd soon gathered around Jesus, and they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons. He was sitting there fully clothed and perfectly sane, and they were all afraid. See that? Even at the ninety-niners safe, Jesus went after the one. He had such compassion for this man. This man had a changed life. One moment with Jesus in an encounter like that, you're never the same. You're never the same. He set this man free. This man that was demonized, tortured, self-mutilator. I'm sure he would have been locked in a mental institution. And today, Jesus had compassion on him. Does that not speak of love, mercy? Then those who had seen what happened told the others about the demon-possessed man and the pigs. And the crowd began pleading with Jesus to go away and leave them alone. They didn't want any part of it. They didn't want what Jesus brought. They didn't like that he set this man free. They even had a little fear. But we know perfect love casts out all fear. They didn't really understand what was going on. But that's no reason to fear. You're to put your trust in the Lord. Even in the most difficult time. Even if you can't see your way out of a situation. He will bring you through. He will give you life. And if you're out there lost in the darkness. And you're one of the ones. He will leave the fold to come after you. He will leave the ninety-nine to come after you. He is a good shepherd. And that's the Lord in Jesus. Amen. That's the gospel of truth I know. And it doesn't matter if you're white or black, rich, poor, gay, straight. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if you are a citizen of this country or you're an immigrant that's here or you're here illegally. The God we serve is the God of everyone. He leads everyone into all truth. He redeems, he restores because we're all filthy rags. until he comes and brings us mercy, his mercy and his love. By his work on the cross, we are redeemed and set free and cleansed and consider righteous. We don't earn it. We just have to believe on Jesus, Lord Jesus, the Son of God, and it is freely to us given. As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him. But Jesus said, no, go home to your family and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been. So the man started off to visit the ten towns of that region and began to proclaim the great things Jesus had done for him. And everyone was amazed at what he told them. At what he told them. Jesus heals in response to faith. Jesus got into the boat again and went back to the other side of the lake where a large crowd gathered around him on the shore. Another large crowd. Then a leader of a local synagogue whose name was Jairus arrived. When he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet, pleading fervently with him. My little daughter is dying. He said, please come and lay your hands on her, heal her so she can live. Jesus went with him, and all the people followed, crowding around him. A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with a constant bleeding. She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. For she thought to herself, if I can just touch his robe, I will be healed. Immediately, the bleeding stopped and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition. She took a risk. She was considered unclean. The crowd could have stoned her and mobbed her. The mob could have been angry and hurt her because she would have been considered unclean during that time. Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him. So he turned around in the crowd and asked, who touched my robe? His disciples said to him, look at this crowd pressing around you. How can you ask who touched me? But he kept on looking around to see who had done it. Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of him and told him what she had done. And he said to her, daughter, daughter, daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over. Oh, he's such a good father. Abba Father is. Lord Jesus. Abba Father is so good to us. Lord Jesus is so good to us. When we see Jesus, we see the Father. And nobody gets to the Father but through the Son. Nobody. We're all one spirit. Hmm. While he was still speaking to her, messengers arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. They told him, your daughter is dead. There's no use troubling the teacher now. But Jesus all overheard them and said to Jairus, don't be afraid. Just have faith. We have heard that so much already. in every set of the scriptures that we've been reading. Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid. Just have faith. There's no need to fear. I rebuke that spirit of fear and replace it with power, love, and a sound mind. In the name of Jesus. No fear. Don't walk in fear. Then Jesus stopped the crowd and wouldn't let anyone go with him except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James. So he controlled his environment. He only allowed the strongest, really, of the faith with him, the ones that were a little bit more mature in the teachings, and it may be moved a little bit from milk to meat, or were still doing it, because he didn't want any hindrances. When someone... you know, wants to speak death over you, you don't partner with it. You speak life over yourselves. You don't accept it. Say by his stripes, you were healed. Cancer is not my portion. Fear is not my portion. Depression is not my portion. And I'm not going to entertain anyone that comes to me and says otherwise, because I know the truth of the word of God. I know the promises of God. I know what the word says, and I know that it never fails and it never returns void. That's what I know. So that's why he controlled who was around. When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw much commotion and weeping and wailing. He went inside and asked, why all this commotion and weeping? The child isn't dead. She's only asleep. The crowd laughed at him. Can you believe that? The crowd laughed at Jesus. Boy, that crowd can be an angry mob. It can bring destruction. You have to be very careful about who you're following, who who's leading you and where they're leading you to. But he made them all leave and he took the girl's father and mother and his three disciples into the room where the girl was lying, holding her hand. He said to her, which means little girl, get up. And the girl who was twelve years old immediately stood up and walked around. They were overwhelmed and totally amazed. Jesus gave them strict orders not to tell anyone what had happened. And then he told them to give her something to eat. Don't miss that. Twelve-year-old little girl that he saved. She was dead and he gave her life. And he's so compassionate. He wanted them to feed her. He wanted them to feed her because he cares about the small details. He doesn't want any of us to go hungry, whether physically or spiritually. And we know He's the bread of life and the wellspring of living water. We will never thirst or hunger again when we have the true gospel that penetrates bone and marrow. So let's look at Mark five, demonstrates the true gospel through these compassionate acts of mercy. When you're looking at this and the way the Lord gave it to me, I want you to look at it about the perspective. You have the perspective of the gospel of the ones. And I was a one. Remember, I'm a survivor of child sex trafficking, lost my father to suicide, realized that my mother was the one that opened me up to being victimized and that it would have been considered human trafficking. She would have been considered my trafficker. Christ set me free of every addiction that I used to cope. He gave me life. I was dead. I had a garment of icky and he replaced it with a garment of righteousness. He set me free, broke every chain. So I have a personal relationship with Jesus and I am sold out for Jesus. And I want you to be sold out for him too. Because when you've had an encounter with Jesus, you are never, ever, ever the same. And these ones, And if you're the one that he's left the ninety-nine for to come after, boy, it means so much. And that's who we serve. We serve a God of the ones. Abba Father sent his only begotten son, Lord Jesus, to die for us. Who does that? And Jesus carried out the assignment. Who does that? That speaks of a love that heals, that breaks the yoke of bondage. I break that yoke of bondage off of you now in the name of Jesus. Break in the name of Jesus. Spirits of fear, addictions break in the name of Jesus. Depression break in the name of Jesus. Spirits of infirmary break in the name of Jesus. We bind you and cast you in the pit of hell. We call for healing, deliverance and truth. Peace and joy in the name of Jesus. Jesus restores a demon-possessed man. He raises a dead girl and he heals a sick woman. The crowd's mob responds to Jesus' compassion for the one who needed deliverance, healing, restoration, and the breath of life. That's the other perspective. Remember, they told him to leave. They didn't want to have anything to do with it. And we're also going to read a little bit more about what else happened. Mark five, fourteen King James Version. And they that fed the swine fled and told it in the city and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. Mark five, fifteen King James Version. And they came to Jesus. And they come to Jesus and see him that was possessed with the devil and had the legion sitting and clothed in his right mind. And they were afraid. This miracle had happened. This amazing miracle. And they were afraid. They were afraid. Mark five, sixteen, King James Version. Before I move on from that, I hear the spirit whispering to me, fear. Fear. Fear can cause us to partner up with things we never should. It can cause us to go down wells that leave us dry, parched. We cannot cater to a spirit of fear, no matter what's coming. We know dark days are ahead. We can't have fear. We can only draw from the strength of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We don't go by circumstances. We go by the word of God. He guides us into all truth. And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil and also concerning the swine. And they began to pray him to depart out of their coast. Mark five, seventeen, King James Version. They began to pray him to depart out of their coast. They were actually praying for him to leave, to depart. Mark five, forty, New International Version. but they laughed at him. After he put them all out, he took the child's father and mother and the disciples who were with him and went in where the child was. Don't miss that. The crowd laughed at him. Now let's read it out of the King James version, Mark five, four. And they laughed him to scorn. They laughed him to scorn. They scorned him. And we know what happened on the cross. And these were religious people. So just let that sink in. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel and them that were with him and entereth in where the damsel was lying. Now let's skip over to Revelation, Revelation, King James version. And father wanted me to read, uh, this and again, I don't know. God gave me these, gave them to me in order, sent me on a scavenger hunt through the scriptures and Google searches and all these things to try to put this together, tie it up in a nice bow to where you could digest the word and get fed off of it and it satisfy the areas in your life where there's a drought, famine, where you're hungry, wanting more. That's what this is for. The Great Prostitute is a title. Now, I'm going to be reading out of the New Living Translation. One of the seven angels who had poured out the seven bowls came over and spoke to me. Come with me, he said, and I will show you the judgment that is going to come on the great prostitute who rules over many waters. The kings of the world have committed adultery with her and the people who belong to this world have been made drunk by the wine of her immorality. So the angel took me in the spirit into the wilderness. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that had seven heads and ten horns and blasphemies against God were written all over it. The woman wore purple and scarlet clothing and beautiful jewelry made of gold and precious gems and pearls. In her hand she held a gold goblet full of obscenities and the impurities of her immorality. A mysterious name was written on her forehead, Babylon the Great, mother of all prostitutes and obscenities in the world. I could see that she was drunk, drunk with the blood of God's holy people who were witnesses for Jesus. I stared at her in complete amazement. Why are you so amazed? The angel asked, I will tell you the mystery of this woman and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns on which she sits. The beast you saw was once alive, but is it now? And yet he will soon come up out of the bottomless pit and go to eternal destruction. And the people who belong to this world, whose names were not written in the book of life before the world was made, will be amazed at the appearance of this beast who had died. This calls for a mind with understanding. And boy, if there's anything you want to ask the Lord for, you want to ask him for kingdom wisdom and understanding, supernatural wisdom and understanding. The seven heads of the beast represent the seven hills where the woman rules. They also represent seven kings. Five kings have already fallen. The sixth now reigns and the seventh is yet to come, but his reign will be briefed. The scarlet beast that was but is no longer is the eighth king. He is like the other seven and he too is headed for destruction. The ten horns of the beast are ten kings who have not yet risen to power. They will be appointed to their kingdoms for one brief moment to reign with the beast. They will all agree to give their power and authority. Together they will go to war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will defeat them because he is Lord of all lords and King of all kings. We know how the book ends. Jesus went and is called and chosen and faithful ones will be with him. Then the angel said to me, the waters where the prostitute is ruling represent masses of people. every nation and language the scarlet beasts and his ten horns all hate the prostitute they will strip her naked eat her flesh and burn her remains with fire for God has put a plan into their minds a plan that will carry out his purposes they will agree to give their authority to the scarlet beasts and so the words of God will be fulfilled and And this woman you saw in your vision represents the great city that rules over the kings of the world. And he wanted me to read that to you. And again, let's look at Revelation seventeen in the King James version. And there came one of the seven angels, which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither, I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters. King James Version, Revelation seventeen, two. With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of fornication. Revelation seventeen three King James version. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. Revelation seventeen four King James version. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication. Don't miss that. Having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication. Revelation seventeen five, King James Version. And upon her forehead was a name written Mystery, Babylon the Great, the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth. Now. Let's get into this. Abominations to the Lord are things that are offensive to God and his character. So we've demonstrated Jesus, his miracle working power, how he shows such mercy and compassion for the ones. We've also know that Jesus came to do the will of his father and to show you the father. So when you see Jesus, you see God. So we know the character of God because we saw Jesus. We saw Jesus. our good shepherd, our healer, our counselor, our redeemer. So we know tangibly that he's good. Whatever pure, whatever's right and noble, we think on those things. Perfect love casts out all fear. We know those things. We know these truths. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shallow of death, I'll fear no evil for thou art with me and thy rod and thy staff comfort me. This is what we know. This is what we know. In times of uncertainty, draw on your personal experience with God, the Lord Jesus. How many times the Holy Spirit has given you a word, guided you a certain way. You've had a conviction and you knew, Ooh, that's the wrong way. Let me turn. That's why it's so important in this hour that you have a relationship with Jesus, with the Holy Spirit, and not just religion. Because religion can fail. Religion can persecute. Religion can deceive, as we've learned so far in our teaching. Abominations to the Lord are things that are offensive to God and His character. pagan rituals, child sacrifice, idol worship, sexual immorality, incest, bestiality, adultery, homosexuality, improperly following God's requirements, perverse heart, lying lips, justifies the wicked and condemns the just, proud in heart, means they're full of pride, they have rebellion, hypocrisy, arrogance, they have those hidden sins of the heart, They can be boisterous. Kings to conduct witnesses. I'm sorry, kings to conduct wickedness. Taking advantage of people, particularly the poor, elderly, or others whom you have power over. God doesn't like that. Scorner or someone who twists the truth. Polluting or contaminating God's worship practices. Wickedness, knowing what is right, but choosing to sin anyway. Remember, our praise is like a sweet aroma that goes up to the Lord. We have to make sure it's not contaminated. Because remember, he didn't want any yeast, any contaminant. We have to make sure that we aren't raising our hands in worship, praising our God with hate and bitterness. For our neighbor that may be sitting in the pew beside us because maybe they're of a different race. Or maybe they walked in dressed a certain way. Or maybe, maybe they're openly gay, a homosexual, a transvestite. We have to be very, very careful that we Don't approach people with a hateful lens or with judgment. Because you see here, these are all abominations to the Lord. Yes, abortion is. Yes, being a homosexual is. Yes, worshiping idols. Yes, perverse lips, but also pride, ego, hurting the poor. I'm saying to you that I've been guilty of some of these things. I've had sexual immorality. I've searched for love in all the wrong places. But God forgave me. He forgave, I mean, he healed that demon-possessed man, the woman with the issue of the blood. She was considered unclean. By the laws, the religious laws of the Sadducees and the Pharisees of the time, things have become difficult. We minister and pastor in a different way now to sheep who've been wounded, who've been hurt. But we know the love of Jesus, the love of the gospel can break every yoke of bondage off. It can lead you to all truth. But we have to turn inward and examine ourselves. Are we condemning our brothers and our sisters? Are we condemning them? Today we see people craving the power and prestige that position wealth and connections offer. What is our conditions on the ground right now? People are drunk off a wine of immorality. They're seeking worldly power for economic security and protection that opens them up to deception. Instead of them looking to Jesus, Instead of them looking to the kingdom of God to provide everything, putting it first, they're trusting in jobs. They're trusting in the idol of money, prestige, and power. And we've learned in our teachings, there can be no other gods. There's only one God. Christians have become infatuated with the worldly power of movie stars, sports celebrities, political coalitions, world economic forces. We are making people idols. We're worshiping them. We're worshiping certain evangelists. We're worshiping political leaders. We're treating them as if they're gods. God's serious. There's only one God. He considers those things abominations. Evil in the world was against Christ, meaning they were anti-Christ, as we saw. The people with the pigs, they wanted him to go. Others were scorning him. So they were against the teachings, the purified gospel, the healings, the deliverance, the casting out demons, the work of the Holy Spirit, the true gospel. They kind of broke up their routine, maybe. And maybe they like their routine. Maybe they don't want the answers to the questions, so they never ask the question. They never ask God, well, is there anything in me that I need to change? Have I maybe spoke against a brother or a sister? Has my behavior been a certain way that maybe is not pleasing to you, Lord? I myself have had to do a lot of internal work these past few years. Remember, he comes in, the Holy Spirit, to dwell in us, to transform us, to have the heart and mind of Christ. To love our neighbor as ourself. Not show favoritism and judgment. Not look to another sin and think theirs is worse than yours. Let's be very careful. Because did God not say go into all the world and preach the gospel? The good news of the gospel is for everyone. No matter their race. no matter if they're here legally or illegally. There's many reasons people cross borders. There's many parents that are fleeing, looking for a better life for their children. We can't paint everybody and put them in a box because it makes us comfortable. We have to analyze everything through the word of God, through our prayer, with our connection, our relationship with the Holy Spirit Because we will be held account for how we treat others. Conditions on the ground. Evil in the world was against Christ, anti-Christ. It had infiltrated the church, giving rise to a false Christianity. The yeast, the leavening process was contaminated, therefore giving rise to false doctrine, which led to false teaching. It gives rise to conflict and disunity within the body. Each member is selfish, putting their own interests first over the kingdom. When they're all struggling for power and trying to be the one that is seen, that is heard, they will step over anyone. You have to be very careful because individuals can start turning on others in their camp. That's why we can only be about the kingdom and the work of the kingdom, being unified under the head, which is Christ. Maybe you're the arm, maybe I'm the leg, but we all have our part to play, our purpose. He knew us before he formed us in the womb, knew who we were to be. In Acts seven, you see the stoning and death of Stephen, a devout follower of Jesus. And you see Saul, who later became Paul, standing by as the crowd stoned Stephen and did nothing. In Acts eight, Saul is hunting down fellow Christians. Saul was an abomination, there's that word again, to the Lord because he approved the mob justice that killed Stephen. He went along with the mob. He didn't do anything. Now let's see where that ends up. Acts nine, new international version, Saul's conversion. Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord's disciples. He went to the high priest. and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. Acts nine, two of the NIV. Now nine, three of the NIV. As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. Whoa, he's about to have an encounter with Jesus. Acts nine, four. out of the NIV. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? When the glory of the Lord comes on you so strong and you truly have an encounter with Jesus, it makes you prostrate on the floor. I mean, you have to go down to the ground when that power, when that glory is just there channeling in and through you or you're surrounded by He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? Because what he said, me, remember, we're one church, one body. He's the head. We're the arms and the legs. So whatever Saul was doing to fellow Christians, he was doing it to Jesus. So be very careful when you follow a mob what you're doing to your fellow brothers and sisters in the name of religion. Be very, very careful. Be very, very careful. Who are you, Lord? Saul asked. I'm Jesus, whom you are persecuting, he replied. Acts nine, five and the NIV. Do you want an encounter with Jesus that leaves you full or an encounter with man in the world that leaves you empty, hungry, and thirsty? That is a question before you today. Which table will you eat from? The table of Baal or the table of Jesus? You have a choice. Judge not, lest ye be judged. Judge not, lest ye be judged. I'm about to end this, but I want to tell you about something that happened, a personal story, because I believe the Lord wants me to share it. We can be quick to persecute, to judge, especially individuals who we believe are an abomination. And as we saw, yes, homosexuality can be, but there's also other abominations that many of us have been guilty of. Adultery, sexual immorality of some other sexual sins. We have to be very careful we're not judging Because we're to show them the love of Jesus. We're not to partner with the sin, but we are to show the love of Jesus. The outcome's not up to us. I can remember being in an airport. Actually, before that, I was at a hotel. I'd gone to a conference and I had kind of shaken it up a bit and spoken out because the Lord had wanted me to. And I just wanted to come home. And I thought I was rushing to miss my flight because I had changed my flight to an earlier flight. And I was just trying to get out of the city because I wanted to come home to my land and my place of refuge. And I remember going up to the shuttle and it took forever for the shuttle to come to take me to the airport. And I didn't believe I'd have enough time to get an Uber. And the hotel shuttle was right there. But when I got in, it was full. But there was a lady there that was obviously maybe trans. I don't know. And I just saw her as a person, a human being. And it was so busy. And she said to me, here, come squeeze in by me. Now it was full, but she made a place for me because she did not want me not to have a place on that bus. at the front of the bus. Many of you know what it's like to be at the back of the bus. She was so kind to me. We talked, I squinched in and we went on. And even in the airport, I was rushing and I didn't plan on meeting up with her, but you know, there's no coincidences with God. And I actually got right behind her in line. And she again put me in front of her to get through so I could go through the line. And then when we get up to the security, I noticed that this trans woman was shaking and obviously triggered at the thought of going through security. And I was moved with such compassion. And the spirit of the Lord came on me so strong, the glory of the Lord, the power of the Lord. And I remember taking her and praying with her right there at the gate, right before, at the security thing. And I worked through her trigger. I didn't judge her. I didn't look at her and say, this is a woman that's maybe a man I didn't know. I didn't care. Because you know what? The power of God shot through me. And was so strong and descended upon us in that moment to show her compassion. And we worked through her trigger. Which I'm sure originated from some type of childhood trauma of some kind. She needed compassion in that moment and she needed mercy. And I gave it to her. Because Christ gave it to me. To pour into her. And I prayed with her and she went through security and she waited on me. And when I got through, she said to me, it worked. I wasn't afraid. The prayer worked. I wasn't afraid. She got set free and delivered from something that she had been carrying. Jesus didn't say she was too dirty. He showed her his love and compassion and mercy. She had an encounter with Jesus that day. I too was forever changed because I realized if he would flow through me and flow his love into someone, how could I dare not do the same? How can I not partner with Jesus to bring someone into the kingdom of God? It changed me forever. I see lost little girls and boys. I see people in need of a savior. I see complicated stories. I see people that are broken and hurt like I was. But he didn't say to me, you're too dirty, you're too full of shame. I know what you've done. Don't come to my door. Every time he took me back, he transformed me. And to the person I am. We just have to be very careful. During this time. That we look to Jesus. To his teachings. That we love the sinner. We don't partner with the sin. We do not partner with the sin. I make that very clear. But I'm not going to judge. I'm going to leave all that up to him. And I'm going to spread the true gospel to all those that he calls and sends to me to do so. Follow Jesus. Follow the cross. Follow the freedom it brings. And judge not lest you be judged. It's so much easier when you just surrender everything to him. Give him all the control, recognizing you have none. And just say, nevertheless, not my will be done, but yours. That's the message that he has for you today. That's the message that he has for you today. Lord Jesus, I just call forth your peace. I call forth your clarity where there's confusion. Strength where there's weakness. Financial blessing where there's drought. I just call forth your healing and unity, unity within the body. within our nation and within our world. Father, help us to show your love to those that we encounter and that we not look through a lens of judgment, but through the merciful lens of Jesus. As he looked at the woman at the well, as he looked at the man possessed with demons and the lepers, and every other person he encountered, let us strive to be like Jesus. And let us minister to others with that purified gospel of truth that breaks every yoke of bondage, that sets people free, and shows them the love of our Lord Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Thank you, Father. Thank you, Holy Spirit. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Thank you, all. Thank you, Father. Father, I just call forth a good night's sleep and rest, peaceful rest, peaceful sleep, Lord Jesus. Oh, Lord Jesus, thank you so much, Lord Jesus. Lord Jesus, thank you so much. We glorify you. We glorify you. Oh, glory to be to Jesus. Glory be to Jesus. Glory be to Jesus. Thank you so much, Linda, and everybody that's tuned in. I see you, John. I see so many people, so many different people that's tuning in. Thank you so much from all over the world. Thank you so much. This was a difficult teaching. I didn't want to do it. I didn't. It was tough. And I want to thank you for listening to it. I believe that I've given it to you as he gave it to me. And digest it. Eat from it. And let's all grow stronger and united as brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you so much. This is Tammy Toney-Butler with Reflective Spaces Ministry. Have a good evening. Remember, He loves you so much. You're fearfully, beautifully, and wonderfully made daughters and sons of the King. And I love you. I love you. Thank you so much. God bless you
