Building A Healthier Home From Scratch
SamKim.
KimHi Sam. Where are we today? We're in the foundation of our holistic healthy home. We're podcasting in the dirt, basically.
SamHey. Yeah. Can we quickly, before we dive into chronic Lyme disease, which is what we're talking about today, we are talking about Lyme. But I would like the people to know what is a holistic healthy home?
KimIt's the whole body, so it's not just looking at certain points of fragrance. We're putting air filtration system in our house. We're putting water filter systems in our house. We're using rock wool for our insulation so that it doesn't mold. We've gone four feet down in our foundation to help keep the mold out, keep the air circulating in the foundation, allowing you to have a lot healthier home overall. Everything that we are putting into our house has been meticulously planned out, picked out, thought out, all the way from the flooring to the paint, so it doesn't off-gas. EOS, which is a huge BOS, which are all ways that things can off-gas. And when you are building, those things are really important. But in the long run, this is gonna be a house that I've owned for a very long time.
SPEAKER_01Or forever. Yeah.
KimSo I just think that it's really important that if you have the opportunity to start from the ground up like this, literally, we're in the ground. Yeah. And you can add those little extra things, they'll they're gonna make a difference. You know, people just don't realize I had mold, and it was because we were living in a travel trailer, but before that, we now know the mold came from a remodel me and my husband did Jeremy did together. Wow. And we didn't really have the knowledge we have right now, and that ties into the fact that coinfections for Lyme is mold. Wow. And parasites, we're like magnets. We lime loves gathering its friends and parting.
Mold, Parasites, And Lyme Co-Infections
KimBartonella, Bapisia, worms, worms, heavy metals, parasites, yeah, bad bacteria viruses. Yes, we are we happen to have a higher amount in our bodies because we already have a weakened immune system. Yeah, and what's crazy about Lyme is it literally comes in like a mirror in front of your immune system, and it's all sneaky and and whatever, you know, it's all sneaky in front of your immune system holding a mirror, and as it's doing that, the immune system is thinking, oh, I'm I'm healthy, I'm good. So it lets its guard down, and all the while that these shitheads in the back are just like, you know, stomping behind the mirror, which is crazy.
SamYeah, how it's all interconnected is really fascinating to me. So what is the I've heard you say before that a lot of people who end up with mold poisoning end up having lime. So, what is the connection between mold and lime? And how can you develop Lyme after having mold poisoning?
KimThere's a few different philosophies or thought processes out there about it. The biggest one is your immune system is so weakened when you have Lyme and also when you have mold. And so when you have the mold, your immune system is so weakened that it just gives it's opportunist, comes in, and it's a bacteria. The bacteria can produce from the mold because your body's been weakened. Interesting. So Lyme is a bacteria, and there are co-infection friends of Lyme that are actually parasites, but it's bacteria itself, Boreella. You have to have multiple strains of Boreella in order for you to be diagnosed with Lyme. You have to have three. Um, but usually when you have that, you've got a layer of problems. You've got Balbecia, you've got Bartonella, and Bartonella is a rage. It's so it's cat scratch fever and it's a rage bacteria that goes into your body.
SamThat reminds me of mold. Yes. So of there, so would you say, I mean, don't know if there's scientific evidence for this yet, but just like instinctually from your expertise, would you say they're the same frequency or or at least harmonize together?
KimOh, they're yeah, they're partying in that frequency together for sure. Yeah, for sure. And usually they can hold on to spores because it's a sparakeet, it's burrowing down into your muscle and your tissue, and it's deep down. So all of these jabby jabs that are happening right now with the lime, honestly, like you probably, if you got bit by something, you already have it, and that thing's not gonna help you, in my opinion. From what I've researched, yeah. Again, it could come out in a different way, but like from all the stuff that I've researched, that's just not gonna help you. It's just not gonna stop it. But it does build like a shield, so that makes sense. It's an mRNA, and so it's gonna build a shield so that when the tick bites you or you get bitten by anything than just a tick. I mean, you can cut open a deer if you're hunting if you're a hunter, put your hands inside of that deer, you gotta cut on your hand. I've I've talked to so many people that have gotten lime that way, so but it shields the bacteria from going into your bloodstream, so it's like acting like a metal shield, right? Like Superman holding so that when you get bit by something, it doesn't actually go into your bloodstream, which is what happens, it immediately goes into your bloodstream and then it's over.
Spirochetes, Biofilm, And How Lyme Spreads
SamGot it. So, two things I want to circle back around because we hear the word sparakeet. Yeah. So what exactly is that? It's a bacteria. You just said it's a bacteria. So, what is a sparake? Because there's a few different things that are asparakees, right?
KimYeah, so there's only three things that resemble three different diseases that resemble lime. You got MS and you have syphilis, and then you have lime. So those three are like cousins. A sparakeet looks like a very skinny piece of thread that spirals down. Okay. So it corkscrews down into your blood, your tissue, and your muscle and in your joints, and then it has to spiral itself out. The thing about it is it has a very hard shell. The biofilm for lime is no joke.
unknownReally?
KimSo it burrows itself down and then it coats over their hole that they burrowed down. Guess what? Your body has no idea what hit it because of that hard biofilm. Got it. What are the three things that are sparakeetes? MS, Lyme, and syphilis. Syphilis?
SamThat is so interesting.
KimAnd that's basically where the sparakeet's in your brain.
SamOkay. So we know you can get syphilis from another person. Right. So and then get lime from another person.
KimRight. Uh-huh.
SamJeremy has lime. Because basically, the way you've broken it down before is you can get it from any mammal, correct? Any warm-blooded animal. Warm-blooded animals.
KimSo ticks are a huge way people are getting it. Right, because they're sucking your blood. While they're doing that, they're pushing the bacteria in. As soon as they bite in you, as soon as they're releasing that bacteria in your it's a defense mechanism for them. Oh. They're releasing it. Got it. Immediately. And then they take your blood.
SamSo the tick is carrying the bacteria. The bacteria. The lime bacteria. It bites you to suck your blood like a mosquito does.
KimAnd mosquitoes can transfer lime.
SamMosquitoes too.
KimSo anything that can bite into you that has that type of bacteria and gets into your blood. Wow. That's the thing, is that they don't really have a full answer of what has caused people to get Lyme, other than, you know, for me, 30 years ago I got bit by tick. I can I can target exactly when my behavior and my health changed when I was a child after I left the camp that my sister was going to, and I got bit by 10 ticks. And it was crazy because the nurses there were like, we've never seen anything like this. I'm this toe head blonde. And after that, we realized that I had to get my head checked whenever I went outside. I would have to come in and flip my hair and have my mom go through all of my hair because ticks were magnets to me and we didn't really understand why. And now we kind of have a better understanding because I carried the bacteria in my body. Interesting.
Kim’s Tick Bite Story And Early Shifts
SamSo I was just gonna ask you, how did you get Lyme? Because if y'all don't know, if you've been following along, you know that Kim has had Lyme most of her life. Right. But if you don't know, I do want you to like dive in a little bit more because you got bit by 10 ticks, which is crazy. That's crazy. Like getting bit by one. 10?
KimMy sister, zero ticks the whole weekend. I just went and dropped her off with my mom. I don't know, I might have been 10 or 11 with my mom at this camp. And as soon as we left, that's when I saw the ticks and I had to go to the nurse's station. And my sister was there the whole weekend, not a single tick. Okay. So you got bit by 10.
SamYeah. Did you start having symptoms or notice a change in you or anything after that that you can recall back when you were 10? Because as far as I understand your story, you didn't even find out you actually had Lyme until way later in life. Three years ago. Three years ago from now.
KimI'm 47.
SamSo from 10 years old to that, that's uh what three decades? Yeah. Okay. So did you looking back in hindsight, was there any kind of shift that took place in you from that day on? Like what? What did you notice the difference?
KimSo I would, you know, my age really is not as relevant. I remember when I was around 12, my behavior changed. I had a massive amount of strep. Like I my sister had ear infections and I had strep, which now going backwards, it all makes sense because I have pandas, which is like a pediatric uh neurological disorder where my brain swells, and I had it since I got bit. So looking at that, I mean, I had strep, my mom was ill um growing up. My I had a chronically ill mom. She is just the best, though. Just love her so much. We love Debbie. Yeah, she she's why I'm went into medicine is because of my mom. Um, I really wanted to know what was wrong with her, and we figured it out over the last few years, so that's pretty cool. But I would say, yeah, I had a huge behavioral shift. I blacked out a lot in rage. So looking back now, like my family and I are really aware of what my health was like now. Back then they didn't understand it, and they feel bad because none of us knew, you know, none of us knew. And then I'm a typical American. My dad was in the military, so I was Western medicine. I got all of the, you know, like 50 of them or something, MMR and HEPS, and like all of the things you're supposed to get. And so I got those heavy metals, right? So whatever was going on, it was just compounded. And then looking back now, I know that house had mold. Oh gosh, I know I had mold in my body from my mom from when I was born in Santa Barbara.
SamYou had a lot of odds already stepped against me. So it was like you were just like a prime opportunity for these ticks. Prime and ready. It's like sorry, because you it's like you didn't stand a chance. No, no, I made it though. You were susceptible. I made it out. Oh, of course. Which is wild to look back. Yeah, and it's so, it's so awesome. It's such a testament that like when you do commit to your health, your wellness journey, and like not giving into it or being like, okay, I'm just declining all the way out of here because I'm so bad. Like, you chose to fight and save your life. But like it shows, like, you are honestly, for me, you're in a better place than I've ever experienced you since meeting you. And it's just a testament that when you do stay very committed to your health, it's like you can have all these things. I mean, to be honest, you guys, I've never heard anyone list off as many things as this woman has in her body and that you've experienced health-wise. Yeah. And so the fact you are alive and kicking and thriving, like, good on you, friend, because that's no joke.
KimWhat was I gonna do? I already started to kind of give up when I went into the woods. I mean, I keep I made peace with everything that was going on with me, and that I didn't have any real help in it, and I already made some peace with it. But then one day I just woke up and I was pissed. Yeah. And that was it. Yeah, like that day forward. I'm like, I'm not living my life like this anymore. Whatever comes my way, they're just labels. I will find a way to take that label off because it is in my field with in Western medicine, you had to label people in order to get paid, right? So it all had to do with insurance. And in order for you to be able to assist your patient, you had to have specific insurance codes. I also helped write codes, like I did electronic medical records, I wrote books on it. Yeah, so it was really something that I was in, and I would be like, So I'm basically looking at medicine as this label and looking at prescriptions when I would talk to patients, and and so I it's a full circle. So I woke up one day in the woods, and me and Jeremy had already said our goodbyes, and I was like, I am not going down like this. Yeah, I'm not, I'm living my dream life out on this land in the rainforest. What do you what do you mean? I'm just gonna let it go because I have no one to turn to right now to figure out what's going on with my body. Yeah. Oh, I can turn to myself, everyone else in the field.
SamI was just gonna say that's what you did.
KimI was a medical specialist. What the hell, Tim? Get it together, girl. And you did. I did, and as soon as, what was crazy is as soon as I found out I had Lyme, I knew what modalities to do because of all my parasite and mold research. And I had already been through parasites and mold. Sure. So it was really validating to me, honestly, when I got diagnosed with Lyme. Oh it was really validating.
SamLet's dive into how you found out and let's also talk about testing. I've heard people ask you before on the many podcasts you've been on like, can you get tested for Lyme? What is that process like? In your opinion, is it accurate? Uh, how did you find out you had Lyme?
Testing Challenges And Vibrant Wellness
KimI just had a feeling that I had Lyme just because I had done so many parasite cleanses, so much mold cleansing, and I still wasn't really right in my mental health. I would say that my mental health really led me to the Lyme diagnosis because my body physically was in a much better space, but my mental health was very much not in a good space through all of this. So I went viral in July of 2021 and I really went there with my mental health. I I really hit the PTSD stuff, I really went through and cleaned that part of my body up, but there was just something that when I would get upset, I would black out or I wouldn't remember certain things and I would feel like a totally different person. And I didn't like that. So I wanted to know, well, what else could be causing these issues for me?
SamYeah, I think I've heard you say before too that whenever you would be in a lime flare, your voice would change.
KimOh my gosh, you can hear the difference in my voice. Lower, higher. It was it's more of like a uh like because it's so hard. It'd be like it's so hard because it's like right here. And you and you would have to like I would have to push it out. So it almost sounded like I just woke up. Wow, yeah, and it would be almost like this phlegmy feel. I don't know. I can feel when my voice is about to change because of lime, and I haven't had that for like six months now. Since cold plunging, honestly, my body and my feeling because lime does not like cold. I was just gonna say, so it doesn't like cold keeps lime at bay. That's how I feel for you, for me, for you, for me, cold showers, cold cryo, cold plunging, like all of those things. My body feels so much different. My mental health is different, it doesn't like the red light, it hates the lima laser, it hates it. I can feel the sparake moving when I put it on the joint that it's in. What you can feel it? Yes. What does it feel like? It feels like literally a corkscrew. Oh, and then it'll pull itself out, and then as soon as I start to feel it, because it really I have a few sparakeets in this joint, and I'll go in, I'll immediately take T-Sol, I'll immediately take the lymph kit, I immediately get on some uh Japanese knot weed, which I have all of those tinctures. As soon as I start to feel movement, I'm like, oh, they're out of their biofilm, they're out. I got I got because the red light pulls them out. That we lima laser pulls them out.
SamWow. Yeah. Wow. Okay, so they are shaped like a corkscrew.
KimYeah, like a they burrow in, like with like a like a piece of thread. Got it. And if you spun that thread and it was like got it. So they go all the way down, just like and then they coat themselves. Yep, and that's it. And then it's a they absorb everything, like and they party, and then the mold comes in, and then they're all friends and like and just wreak havoc together. Oh man, you got an ego system in your brain. Yeah.
SamSo you were noticing that your mental health was super off, and so you had a feeling, and so what did you do to go and find out that officially find out with a diagnosis that you had Lyme?
KimI went and got a finger test with vibrant wellness. The problem with testing, and this is why I'm such a big believer we should have access to parasite mold and Lyme testing, affordable, accurate, and available to everyone because at certain points in your life, yes, you're not gonna test positive. So that's why they're evaders. They're they'll they know you're getting ready to test them.
SamIt's just like the parasites. Like it's like we talk about this, but when you even just get a paraphy kit and you start talking about that you're gonna do it, and you start thinking about that you're gonna do it, the parasites know you're gonna do it. Like they're one with you. They're always listening. Yeah, they're always listening. They've tapped into your nervous system, they're part of your ecosystem of your body, right?
KimOkay. So with the Lyme diagnosis, I got, and here's one thing I know me and you really haven't talked very much about after I did my TPE, which is therapeutic plasma exchange, which is really great for people that have Lyme. However, for me, I don't know if I feel the same way about that after I went with my before test of Lyme, which I had two strains of Boreella. That's it. I had two strains of Boreella. When I did my TPE, it dusted so much up. I ended up with Babesia and Boreella. And I swear I have Bartonella too, which I just found out my dad got scratched by a cat when he was younger, and that's Bartonella, it's cat scratch fever. And so I wouldn't be surprised if that is embedded in my DNA and because that happened. But like I then started having symptoms after the TPE with these particular diagnoses
TPE Wins, Tradeoffs, And Flares
Kimbecause I went and got another vibrant test right after. Gotcha. It was like our whole plan. We had a whole series of plans and we just never talked about it because I was saddened that I had Babesia too.
SamAnd you weren't planning on doing TPE and then and then seeing more strains. Right. Okay, so just a side note for anyone who doesn't know, TPE is therapeutic plasma exchange. In our season one of What's Eating You, you can tap into our field trip and we also do a sit-down podcast episode all about TPE, all about therapeutic plasma exchange. But essentially, she went in and they took plasma out of her.
KimYeah, they body your blood and then they spin the blood and then they separate the plasma and then they remove that dirty plasma and then they put albumin in in place of the plasma so your body produces more plasma.
SamThey take the blood out, the whole blood out, they separate the plasma from the blood, they add in albumin, and then they put the blood back into her body. So she went through this process, and you can go ahead and tap read and watch it. Yeah.
KimSo Jeremy did it, I did it. Now the inflammation in my brain went way down. Like I could I felt a little different for a period of time. But the disappointment of it is Babesia popped up and like I started getting these weird bumps on my stomach. They're like little red dots, which they say is like cherry tomatoes. Yeah. But like I get flares and they flare. Yeah. So I mean, I just put two and two together in my own body. There's no science behind what I'm saying, other than this is how I It's your own personal experience. It's my own personal experience.
SamWhat how you broke it down and what I learned through the TPE um process is plasma is our body's first line of defense. So when they removed, I mean, we're talking, I mean, pounds. We they they would measure it at the end of each session. And so they removed pounds of plasma from her body. So even if the plasma had these things in it, you know, these undesirable environmental toxins that you wanted out, you still also did get rid of your first line of defense soldiers in your body. So then it like stirred up the lime and the strains in your body, and they come out of hiding, and you don't have as much of this first line of defense there to fight them off anymore. So it's like you had some trade-offs, you had some benefits and positives, but you also experienced some negatives from from doing it. I don't regret it. No, I think it's good. I don't regret it. I think it's good. But I wouldn't do it again. I think it's great you're sharing the honest, your honest experience.
KimIt was really hard on my veins. And when you're already in a compromised immune system situation, especially because TPE puts you in there, that really it was a lot harder for us to heal. And we got food poisoning in the midst of it.
Cold Plunges, Red Light, HBOT, NAD
KimSo it was already really tough. And then we got food poisoning. And then my body was like, I was shooting out pancreatic stones, which I've never done in my life. Wow. My body really was like, um, girl, yeah, like what you just need to be bubbled. And we H-botted, I mean, we did all the things. Now, that is another thing that I learned when I since I've had Lyme, H bot fire. Fire, it snuffs it out. Mold and Lyme do not like the 600% oxygen that's being pushed into your body in order for them to be pushed out of your cells. And NAD. Girl, NAD, next level. Next level, change. As soon as I found out I had Lyme, I started researching. What can I do? So we do um, we do NAD sub Q. I love it. Maudwella has really clean uh strive, is who they use. Love Modwella. I've done I am whenever I get IVs. I've done IVs for Lyme. Oh my god, I did 750 milligrams of IV over a four-hour period, the most pain I've ever been in my entire life. Because you can't stop it. Yes. And you're burning and it hurts, and you're like, I'm doing this. Feel the heel. Oh man. It was terrible. What did you experience? Because you've done that. You've done NAD IV.
SamOh, oh, N A D. Oh no, no, no. For me, like it's tolerable. I do, and I now I got it to a sweet spot. So like when I go and get it through my IV, I'm at a place where they allow me to control the speed. And then I just find the sweet spot and like I take my time, I don't rush my body. Um I I I always experience cramping and heat, but I know it's gonna pass. And the second that the IV is done, it's gone. Now, when you give me the the shots, um Cam administers uh shots in my butt cheeks of NAD when I need a boost, and um initially, you know, when the NAD is going in, it's a little bit of a burn. And then depending on the dosage, so it seems like when you give me 50, I'm like good, I like didn't feel it. And then yesterday she gave me 65, and all of a sudden I was like, whoa, I gotta sit down because it was like overtaking me, and I was like, whoa, and it just got real crampy, my heart started to race. Oh, yeah, yeah. I yelled out to her, I'm like, Kim, is it normal? My heart's racing. Because it felt like, you know, a little, I was just like, this is a little scary. But then I just you were like, yes, it is. So I always trust her and then just breathe through it, and it passes in like a couple minutes, you know. It doesn't stay for a no, but it really truly does give you a boost. I've noticed that even like, you know, we're here in Nevada and we've been working all week. It's been a long work week and we're working all day, staying up all night, we're working, and so it has helped like me be able to still function and operate at a high level during the day, even if I didn't get a ton of sleep or if I went to bed late. I've noticed that NAD really does give you more life force energy and it's like cellular energy, mitochondria, right?
KimI can tell. I believe that ticks right now are an epidemic because when I'm at my full force, I'm a force to be reckoned with. Sure are. But as soon as I go into a flare, which I can feel myself going into a flare, it just takes me down. So I lose those hours. I've lost days, you know, because I was on a high projectory in my career and in my life. I was I was rising to the top. I was my second degree, I was high on being a professor, I was running colleges, I saved some campuses in Washington. I was recruited over for that.
SamAnd through all of that, side note, it's not even like you were like majorly into modalities and like super organic, and like, you know what I mean? Like you were like you always ate a little health like healthier than most, but like it's not like you were doing all the things you're doing now and you still were able to operate on that level. Yeah, but it caught up to you. It did all of the many labels and diagnoses and frequencies caught up to you.
KimAnd that's why I say if I had known I had Lyme, if I had known I had Lyme, I would have never had a hysterectomy, honestly. I don't regret it. It is one thing in one of our the the oral healthcare uh podcasts, I said, I don't want to lose a tooth, but having hysterectomy, I really am glad I did what I did. I I don't look back on it.
SamIt was causing you more pain to have it, to have the you can do it.
KimIt's just disappointing because I have options, yeah, which I didn't know I had before. Yes, yes. So yeah, I mean think about it. When you're down in the dumps and your frequency is trash, you're not performing at your high level. Yes. And then you you boost yourself up and then you're performing at that high level. But if you don't know how to boost yourself up, or you don't know about anything, or you don't have access, or you don't have provision to pay for it. It's why I'm doing what we're doing, it's why I have dedicated the rest of my life to doing this. Because it's so important that you have options, you're never stuck, you're never stuck in a chronically ill state unless you don't know.
SamYou spreading the word to people about solutions, about being informed, period. First, know what's going on with you. Yes. But then options and teaching people to have their own patient advocacy, to advocate for themselves and to be sovereign and get multiple opinions.
KimOh my god, especially before doing anything life-altering, right? Yeah, and especially if you look at just that one test. I only tested two strains for Boreella, and so that really didn't hit the target to say that I had Lyme. However, all my symptoms combined. So, Dr. Giles, hi, love you, girl. Love you. You're the best because she's like, You have Lyme, Kim. I don't care what the strains say. Like you have it. You have all the symptoms, you have everything. And so that's really where my advocacy comes in because even if that label isn't gonna be the label, I'm still gonna go and research what to do with a solution that's right for that label.
SamYeah, you know, it's a frequency. Yeah, we talk about this all the time. So she is just she's an herbal queen, she's the herbal healer. We're plant people, yeah, we love the plants, and so she realized uh years ago, find out whatever the frequency of the dis-ease or the illness or the label is in your body, and then find the plant that counteracts that frequency. Yep.
KimAnd that's kind of the philosophy that I say is you know, when the opera singer sings and her voice shatters the glass, it's because the frequency of the glass she met that with her voice.
SamSo she's hitting the frequency with her voice that matches the glass and it makes it shatter. It's a it's all a frequency. It's all frequency.
Herbs, Frequency Thinking, And Lymph Drainage
KimAnd so all I did was figure out what the ailment was and tried to find the herb to match the frequency of that ailment. That's all big done as well. All we studied was what medication goes to what illness and what illness is what medication. So they're all their own. And so it's really about like I love Usnia. Inadvertently in my gut, when I took when I found Usnia, I knew that that particular herb was gonna be my best friend. I knew it. I don't know what it was instinctually. I was so drawn to Usnia. Like, I'm looking at a tree and there's this beautiful old man's case. Cash waterfall, old man's beard. Yeah, yeah, and it's gorgeous.
SamIt just happens to be growing on your land.
KimYeah. I happen to be in an area where there is a mass amount of it. So it's really about like what you resonate with, but also understanding your body enough that you can feel it when it comes time. You know, like I just love oosnia. I love it. I love lungwort lichen, which is in metal flush, because it breaks the biofilm and then it exposes the lime. Usnia is Mother Nature's doxycycline, which the doxycycline frequency is for lime. That's what they give a lot of Lyme patients right out of the gate is doxycycline. So Usnia's DNA structure is similar to doxycycline.
SamYou moved to land that had oostnia growing wild on it before you knew you had lime.
KimYeah, even I moved away from the land when I found out I had lime. And oosnia was already put in our kit, Perify, immediately. It was the first herb that I put in there with Oregon grape. And Usnia's in sustain, right? Usneas and sustain. Yeah, we love sustain. Yeah, sustain is super simple. It's in the lymph kit. So the lymph kit doubles as a lime kit, specifically because of cat's claw, which helps repair the DNA, which we talked about at the beginning of this, where your DNA is being damaged because of this mirror that's happening with the immune system. So cat's claw goes in and is like, let's fight to Usnia. And Usnia goes in and is like, we got this, and brings a cat's claw, pushes out this bacteria and virus that's happening with the Lyme, and then cat's claw's coming in as like, I got you, friend, and cleaning up behind it. That's cool. They all work together. Like a symphony. Yeah, I have goosebumps because I love that.
SamThat's so beautiful. So the lymph kit, let's talk about it for a second because Rogers Hood just dropped a brand new, beautiful ebook called The Lymph Code. The Lymph Code.
KimShout out to Mel. Shout out, Mel, you did a great job. Beautiful. Beautiful book.
SamIt's a beautiful book. It's so full of information and it's all about the lymphatic system and drainage and Lyme and the connection between the two. So definitely go, it's free. Go to Rogershood.com and get yourself a copy, a digital copy of this free lymph code ebook. Um, what is the connection or importance of flushing the lymph and draining the lymphatic system while supporting Lyme symptoms? Because you purposely crafted the lymph kit, right? To do both. So what is the importance of what's the connection between the two? Draining the lymph and lime.
KimIt it exposes them more. They're kind of out there floating around, right? Like you got your red blood cells, and then you got sparoketes near them. If you can continue to flush your lymphatic system out with anything, honestly, but specifically with Lyme, because the sparakeetes will move in and out. Like it's that's what's causing you so much pain, is you got this foreign object that's a bacteria going wow literally like a corkscrew. And so if you can flush that type of out of your lymphatic system where it's living and dwelling in it, okay, and then it just helps your symptoms so much more and it allows them to not stay stagnant and they get out. So especially with fulvic, by the way, a lot of a lot of fulvic that a lot of fulvic soaks that I've seen, some of the things that are moving in there is a sparrocheet. Whoa. Same with your mouth. When they do, holistic biological dentists will go in and they'll do a sample of your tissue and put it under a microscope. I've got some videos on my phone. You can see the sparakeet, not necessarily a lime sparakeet, there are bacteria sparakeet. Sure. You can see it in your mouth. Yeah, I was just gonna ask you, are they microscopic or are they visible to the eye? Microscopic. You have to do a do like a little tissue sample. And then they'll stick it. Oh, yeah, you could totally see that.
SamOkay, so so so some of them are visible to the eye? Yeah, because you know what shape they are.
KimOkay, gotcha. Okay. So some look some look like a threadworm. Wow. And then some look like little, and then I have one that was like swimming in the water, which I'm like, that could be a threadworm, that could be lime. You just you don't know unless you're looking at it under a microscope, but they all look very similar. They all look very similar.
SamThe way you just explained, you know, we're talking about the connection between the lymphatic system and draining it in lime. You were like, well, the sparrocketes are out there just like free-floating, right? Does the lymph kit kind of wrangle them? Yeah. Because that's what I saw in my mind when you explained it that way.
KimUsnia is like, you're a bacteria. It doesn't matter if it's lime or whatever, it's a bacteria. So oosnia is magnet making a magnet of it and pulling it. So it doesn't matter if it's burrowed down or not. And then when you bring in something like cilantro, lung wart like it, it's breaking that biofilm down. And so you're actually pulling that spare key, that bacteria with the Usnia. And then Cat's Claw is like, oh, there's a void, right? And then TSL and Japanese knotweed, which I found were very harsh. I had some die-offs, so I couldn't take it every single day when I was going through. And then Dr. Rawls, you guys, he is an amazing lime doctor. He also had lime and he created a product over it. And you can watch him all over the place. He was on Alex Clark. Um, but he really honed in on quite a few things when it comes to like really getting ready and killing the lime. We're a cleanse and we're gonna help with the symptoms. But I didn't bring in big boys like Japanese knotweed and TESIL yes. You wanted the lymph kit to be gentle and supportive. But you know, I mean, there's always time because I really think that we need to have some sort of a tincture that is like strictly for killing, right? Right now we're in a cleansing. Let's help the symptoms, let's support it. But you still have to go in there and there's the time to do a deep clean. Yeah, you gotta go in and kill, kill them. But the thing is, is that you can do it too fast. And all the things that I did, I remember one time I had the worst eye-offs because I went into killing the lime instead of actually supporting my body and allowing it to potentially flush out. Wow. I'll always this is a forever thing though, you know.
Lyme Symptoms, Tick Surge, And Prevention
SamSo let's talk about some Lyme symptoms. Yeah. In case someone doesn't know that they have it and they might, what are the most common symptoms if you have Lyme?
KimJoint pain is a big one. Um, brain fog, personality changes, rage, which can go in with mold as well, but they usually go hand in hand. That's why we say people that have mold end up being diagnosed with Lyme later because they really do go hand in hand.
SamIt's a lot of mental and emotional stuff.
KimA lot. A lot. People are disabled from it, they're debilitated.
SamVoice change.
KimVoice change, skin issues.
SamIf you're in a lime flare, what do you like besides all those things? Is there anything else you experience when you're like in a flare?
KimI don't want to be around anyone. I'm not sure.
SamOh, it makes you isolate.
KimYeah.
SamOh, lime is a liar and a thief. It is, it steals joy and time and and life.
KimThat's really that's so wild. And people die from it. You know, Thurrasage is um their daughter did. That's why I respect Thurasage so much. All of their products really rolled out because she had such bad chronic Lyme that it shut organs down, and you can die from Lyme. I mean, I really am fortunate. I really think about it on a daily basis.
SamOh my gosh.
KimBecause it was really bad.
SamYeah.
KimAnd misdiagnosed for 30 years. Sure. And if I had just known. And the thing about what happened with me and where we're at now is I took antibiotics. So whatever happened in my life, because I had so much strep all the time, which is what caused me to get pandas, um, that it didn't even phase the lime. It just didn't, it didn't move the needle at all. So it's not always the way to go.
SamThose antibiotics must not have matched the frequency of that the lime in your body, you know. Man, okay. So can we talk about ticks for a second? Oh man, can you guys believe what's happening with all these ticks? I mean, I have seen a video of a woman out on her land and she's filming, she's out on her land and she's filming a helicopter. Drop a box on her land, and when she goes and films the box, it's it's just full of ticks.
KimAnd we're just so not educated on how serious the situation is with ticks, your animals, how they can get on you. Like we were at Napa uh last year, and we got into a restaurant, and a frickin' tick crawled out from my sister's watch, hopped over to me, is what we're kind of figuring out, and I found it on me. The dogs can hold the lime, the dogs can hold ticks, like you're letting your dog roll roam around. That's what you said the other day.
SamYeah, bushes or wherever they just they're outside and then they get into bed with you, and the tick can crawl off and bite you. Bite you, done. Yeah, yeah. So, what do you think about this new hokey pokey that's coming out? Um, that they're formulating this pokey that's coming out to treat Lyme, and all of a sudden there's this tick epidemic happening.
KimI am not an anti-hokey pokey. I do believe that there is time and a place for everything, but I also know a lot about the mRNA, and I just don't know if there's enough out there. And this is they've been trying to do this for so many decades. The side note of it though is that it wouldn't help me, right? I already have it, and so it's the preventative side of the hokey pokey.
SamYeah, the timing for me is just so crazy.
KimAnd now all of a sudden we have all of these ticks, and the fact that there's a book called Bitten. Oh, and it talks about where it came from in the lab and how it came about, and then you have RFK Jr. who's really starting to talk about it because 476,000 people a year, which that number hasn't changed in a few years, by the way, which drives me nuts when we get these because it's like statistics like completely update this, so we're just every year.
SamThis is an important number. Like, okay.
KimOkay that are diagnosed with Lyme.
Sam1,300 people a day are diagnosed with Lyme. How many a year? 476,000.
KimThat's half a million. Well, no, well, we have 330 million people in the United States, so like you start to doing those numbers two years, and you already got a million of those people just from two years, and this has been going on for decades, decades, denial for decades that Lyme even existed, that this was not a real thing. Now all of a sudden they're coming out from nowhere saying that it's a real thing, and we're getting the the hokie pokey. They're about to release a new hokey pokey that's gonna be. Which they've been trying to release for decades, they've been formulating it, yeah, working. And they haven't been able to do it because it didn't show enough progress in all of their animal testing. But you think about it in the long run, like what is it really? It's a label that you can figure out and you can help your body with symptoms and put it into remission. And now all these tick boxes are just showing up on people's lands.
SamI don't get it. A bunch of people are gonna be popping up with Lyme because there's all these ticks let loose right now. Where's the testing?
KimI mean, all last year it was the entire platform I've stood on. Where is the accurate, affordable, available testing for everybody to find out what they have going on in their body? Where's the testing? You got this, you got this thing coming out. You're dropping boxes of ticks. Where's the testing for us in the United States? I mean, everyone talks about how it's a money thing. There's money in that side of stuff too. Yes. There is because now you got accurate, affordable, available testing. They're gonna be able to test you, you're gonna be able to then get treatment. Really? And be able to help calm it down.
SamLet's talk about treatment for a second. What does treatment in Western medicine look like for Lyme? And then what are holistic things people can do to ease and keep symptoms at bay? And and you know, if you have Lyme, because correct me if I'm wrong, but is it forever?
Antibiotics, Gut Protection, And DIY Support
SamI mean Okay, so it's not, I mean, you can't for sure say, but they but but so far in your experience and what you've learned, it's a lifelong thing. Yeah. But I I mean, I believe in the power of nature, and so I just know there's something inside of me that's like it there has to be a way that it can, you know, someone can be free of it at some point. But what's uh what does Western medicine treatment look like for Lyme? And then what are some holistic things um or even just DIY things, something like that, that people can do to help have a better quality of life if they have Lyme? Antibiotics for Western. But right ones, because you took them and it didn't help. So how do you Doxycycline is really what their go-to is? And this is not medical advice.
KimNo, not medical. I mean, I took doxycycline growing up, so that's how I know maybe my Lyme was antibiotic, you know, resistant. Um, who really knows? And maybe when the bacteria was in full force in my body, you know, a lot of people will take an antibiotic and it'll and right when they realize they did it, they got bit, or they right when they realize they have Lyme, which you have to be really aware when you take an antibiotic. That 44% of people that take at least two rounds of antibiotic are going to have depression.
SamAre there preventative measures you can do while taking an antibiotic to help prevent that?
KimYes, I take a lot of the specific um prob and prebiotic that I get from sprouts, and it's made to take in conjunction with an antibiotic so it keeps coating. My gut. I take uh sauerkraut when I first eat it. I take coconut colt. I take uh blueberries. I coat my gut. I've read that aloe vera is really great to take while you're doing it. You're just trying to coat it to kind of, in my eyes, this is the way I see it, is that you're coating it to keep the good in, and then the the antibiotic pulls that bad out. And so you're you're supplementing everything in order for the bad to come out. I bind at night when I take an antibiotic. I've just gotten off of an antibiotic and I feel great. I had no side effects from it. I've had no issues. I feel a lot better now that I've gotten an infection under control. So there are ways that you don't have to be afraid of antibiotics. I was afraid. I fear-mongered myself about antibiotics for so many years, these last five, six years. But like the infection that I had going on, you need an antibiotic. So I just found my solutions.
SamYep. Know your own body, know how you respond to things. I mean, I personally am really sensitive to antibiotics and they tend to do me more harm than good. But if I'm working with a trusted, you know, naturopathic doctor or doctor that I trust to help guide me to protect my gut and my mental health and my microbiome and just my entire ecosystem. If I needed to take one, then that would be a different story than just doing it rogue on your own. Man, we were just talking the other night, but when I when 2020 hit and I caught, I caught the booger, man, I it was so bad. I was sick for over a month and halfway through it, I got more sick, which was really like an alert to me. You know, I got an infection in my throat and I was like, what is this? So I had to, I had to take, I think it was ammoxicillin. And um, I, you know, I did the best I could on my own. I I was also taking uh probiotics, but who knows if they were the ones I should have been taking or not, you know. But man, when I finished, I mean I felt great during. Yeah. It was like, you know, it cleared up the throat infection, all of that. But afterward, mental health just tanked, joint pain. I could tell I got candida overgrowth. Oh, that's a typical one. Yeah, it was like all of these things. I mean, brain fog, I mean the fatigue, Kim. The fatigue girl. And I mean, now we think I probably had long. We think that I probably had that.
KimWell, I don't think you have it anymore, but I think I had it.
SamI had it these last few years. Right. And once I started parasite cleansing and I started doing all of these other things, it changed a lot.
KimParasite cleansing for long haulers.
SamYeah, but I caught the booger three times. Oh my god. Three three different like variations, you know what I mean?
KimAnd each time it was awful for me. And people that catch those type of viruses, again, go get tested for Lyme. Not that it's really gonna change anything in a sense, but you understand it a little bit more. And once you get that validity, like the validation, when I got, I think I made a video. Oh, I did. I actually made a video and I I cried because and I rarely cry on camera because I'm my own editor and producer.
SamShe just cries a lot off of camera. I cry a lot off.
KimWe're both we're both criers, we're both criers. It's okay. I just really felt relief. Yeah. Like, oh my God, I'm not going insane. And answer.
SamOh my gosh, this makes so much sense. This is why I've been experiencing this for so long. I mean, that that I mean, yeah, the validation is just so powerful. So good. So a question do you can someone have Lyme and it be dormant?
KimYeah, for and then it can come back and dormant and come back, and dormant and come back.
SamLike, could could it be dormant for like a long time and then all of a sudden something awakened?
KimWow. So for me, because now I look back at all of my health issues that I had, when I was at the height of my career, the height of my life, which I am now, when I was in my previous life, I remember thinking, I feel really, really good right now. I was in college, I was running campuses, I was authoring books, I was at a high level. We moved from here, Nevada to Washington into a mold-infested house that we had no idea had mold in it, and immediately pulled whatever I had in my body in those moments. So I know I had Lyme, I know I was sick, my life started to get better. I started to really access parts of my brain and the physicality of it all after I had my hysterectomia, really shot up in the world, and then I moved into mold and it was like, hey, friend, to the lime. What's going on?
SamI was just gonna say it created like a playground of an environment for it. Yeah, it was just like the most like opportunistic environment, and it was like, ooh, this is our these are our cousins, like this is our frequency. We're coming alive, friend, we're taking over, yeah.
KimAnd then we went out to the land and out into the rainforest, and we had bought that land in 2016, and we were planning on building it decades down the line. We were just gonna use it as recreational with our travel trailer, and we started the water, we were showering in the water, so I just really brought a family reunion going on in 2016, and then I had the most stressful year of my life in 2016, and then I just started declining after that. Oh my gosh, and that's when the Lyme was really prevalent, yeah, and I had no idea. Yeah, I don't know if mine was dormant, and that's the issue with trying to get an actual label for Lyme or Bartonella or Babisia because they're such evaders, so you could still have Lyme and not have the symptoms always, so it could still be in there while you're getting tested. Does that make sense?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it does.
KimI know Bartonella just makes you so ragey, man. It's cat scratch fever, it just makes you so angry and you and you don't remember why or how or things you did in that Bartonella rage. That's crazy. Yeah, and they're just friends, they're like co-infections. But what's crazy to me is they all go under the lime umbrella, even though Babesia and Bartonella are not Boreella, right? And one of them is uh Babecia is a parasite. So you're you're really looking at bacteria and parasites and how they all live together. And another thing you can you have to think about too is when you are parasite cleansing, the reason why I brought in Usneaman is because those worms and those parasites they hold each other. They hold mold, they hold spores, they hold bacteria, they hold viruses, heavy metals. And when you're going in and removing them, you are needing that support and the other frequencies to come in and help remove what they're dumping. Wow. They're dumping that shit, man. They hold on to it, they hold on to it, and then you go and you kill their body. Yeah, guess what? Boom, boom, boom. They dump it. They dump all the toxins, all the heavy metals, all the everything, viruses, everything, bacteria. That's where your die-offs come in. Me and Jeremy had them coming out our skin. Right. I started seeing heavy metals because I wasn't taking a heavy metal detox with it. That is really, you guys, what made me create the Perify kit is I was watching and feeling my body and my husband when we were cleansing, and I was seeing these holes that I needed to plug. And I'm like, okay, so you're just gonna take some wormwood, some garlic, some clove, and that's like, and some black walnut hole, like that's it. No binder, no binder. You need to come in with oosnia because I again I didn't know I had lime, and so lime's dumping in my body. Maybe I maybe it was all inside of a parasite, which I didn't test positive for Epstein Bar virus until after I parasite cleansed without the Paraphy Kit.
SamWild.
KimI did not know that I had EBV in my body. I even got a spinal fluid test because I was being tested for MS when I was younger, and I didn't know that I had EBV, and they tested it for Epstein Bar and it came back negative, which your spinal fluid holds a lot of information. It holds a lot for you. Like that's why they do that because that's the easiest way to find out if you have MS, which is a sparakeet and also tapeworms.
SamIt's all connected, so they're like all connects.
KimThey're all connected. Wow, it's all connected. And when I say that I realize that in July of 21, and this is what I've done every day since, it's because I come from Western medicine where I believed in the things that I was doing almost to a fault, but I still had the mindset that, like, because I'm kind of a rebel and I've been an alternative person my whole life, but I really love the human body. So I was able to use discernment and have a better understanding for myself.
SamAnd can use it all. There's a time and place for all of it. That's beautiful, Kim. I think you just did such a wonderful job with the Parapy kit and with the lymph kit. They're both really awesome, really powerful, thorough, they're effective, they're gentle, but powerful. Like you just you nailed it with the herbs. You nailed it with the combinations and the formulas. I have not seen anything else out there like them. And you guys, if you want to get your hands on a Parapy Parasite cleanse or the lymph kit, the lymph wellness kit, you can head to rogershood.com and feel free to use our code What's EatingU. We spell it what's eating in the letter U, and you'll get 10% off all kits and cleanses and products at RogersHud.com. So it's preventative.
Supporting A Chronically Ill Friend
SamWe always talk about that, but it's preventative and it's also a cleanup crew. Yeah. So you guys can can go ahead and access those kits at Rogershood.com. Um, what I gathered from you uh for some like holistic things people can do to help with symptoms if they have Lyme is cold therapy. Yep. That helps with you personally. So like know your own body, and if cold makes you feel better, then lean in. Yeah, lean in.
KimI'll tell you, everyone around me does not like the cold.
SamYeah, I mean, you know, I mean, I don't like love it. I mean, like, I don't hate it. I like cryotherapy. Getting into the cold plunge is a little bit harder, but I still do it. I'll do it. I'm gonna do it tomorrow morning with you. We're gonna do a cube cold plunge. We're gonna do a little competition because if it comes to a heat competition, I win every time with Kim. Yeah, I gotta get out. But the cold, the cold, she is the queen. This girl will do 15 minutes, no problem. Easy. It's crazy. I love it. But yeah, I mean, if there's anything else you want to say about Lyme or any other message you want to get out there about it, anything you want to share, anything you want to say, feel free to do it. I do.
KimI have a couple of things. One, Rogers Hood is our proud sponsor of What's Eating You. Hey! And we're, you know, we really want to keep this as independent as possible for us to be able to have our own creative freedom and talk about anything we want. So thank you, Rogers Hood, for really supporting this vision and this movement. Um, so thank you, Rogers Hood. Thank you, Rogers Hood. Louis, whatever we're doing, we're like, thank you, Rogers Hood. I have a question for you, Sam. Oh, what is it like to have a chronically ill friend? And how does that make you feel on a daily and how do you navigate that? Totally.
SamSo it took me a while to even uh fully comprehend because when I first met you, you know, you would say all the time all these things like, oh, I have this, I have this, I have this, and I've had 13 surgeries and like all this stuff. And you can hear that, but like hearing it and then being close to the human and understanding what they go through on a day-to-day is a totally different thing. So it took me a while to come around to like how chronically ill you actually were. It's hard to digest being someone who isn't chronically ill, it's hard to digest just how ill you really were. It's wild to me. So once I really was able to see that clearly, and then we got it, we started to get really close. Once we got close, and I experienced you day to day, and basically it's like you can go through flares or um peaks and valleys and shifts and changes faster than your average person. So once you overstand that, then if you just approach it with just like support and love and understanding, um, then you can also be there just as a support system and as an as uh a steady uh reflection. Cause I do notice for you specifically with your chronic illnesses, they do affect you mentally and emotionally. So I love to be a solid, stable and steady mirror in your life to like always reflect back to you the truth. So if your brain is lying to you because it's misfiring, because you're in a flare of either PTSD or Lyme or pandas or what was the other thing we thought you had? What like it's there's all these things. Like the what was the other what was the other thing, man? You know, or the infection and cephalitis and uh you know, and the and the infection and from your tooth into your brain and whatever, like all these things, right? Um, even just stress and pressure of life. So that I'll say to you, you know, when you have a chronically ill family member or friend, pressure and stress in their life, whatever it comes from, it can also like add up and accumulate and it can cause them to like be in a flare. So really I would say like, I mean, it's no, it's not like it's like a big thing to me because um it's easy to navigate when you just love somebody. It's just like easy to just be a support. And honestly, you're like doing really well. Thanks. So it's not like you're you know, I didn't we weren't friends in your worst part where like you actually were immobile and like stuck in a chair and couldn't move, and I think that that's a different level. Um you you're you're so easy to to love and accept and navigate life with, you know. Um the one thing I love about you is you're such a fighter and you're solution-based, which we always like Bishop and I are always encouraging you and like reminding you to stay there mentally, but you're like that anyway. It's like you won't stay in it, you know. Um, we have this uh three-minute rule of the camera, like you get three minutes to cry and throw your tears. Like, you know, last time you were kind of in a flare, I was like, all right, should we set a timer? How how many minutes do you need? I was like, how many minutes do you need to let this all out? You know, yeah. You're like, I think like 10. I'm like, okay, cool. So I sat there with her in it, supportive, understanding, listening to her, and then about five in, I'm like, you got about five minutes left, girl. You know, we're getting out of this thing. We're not staying there, you know, we're not wallowing in it, you know. Yeah. But no, I mean, yeah, it's it's different. It's different. Um, it it makes you, to be honest, I think it it probably expanded my empathy even more and compassion even more, which I already have a lot of, but it expanded that more just for humans, period, and their health, and like you never know what someone's going through. You really don't. You really don't. Like, like in their personal life behind closed doors, you really don't know the struggles that anyone's going through. And like, so just having compassion and patience and empathy is like really that's like those are keys. So if you do have a chronically ill friend or family member, I would say use those, yeah, use those tools.
KimWhat you like that answer? It was so good. I'm so lucky, I'm so lucky. I think about it every day because not a lot of people hang for long periods of time with chronically ill people. Sure, it becomes somewhat of a burden, and that's how we feel as a chronically ill person, is there's a burden there, and I try and lighten that burden with people around me by giving things that you know, like this. I mean, oh, I'm so lucky. I feel so blessed to have you in my life and to be able to do this with someone who really does shine that mirror on me on a daily basis so that I don't stay in it.
SamOh, I love you. Oh my god, it's my pleasure, man. Yeah, I love doing this with you, Kim Roger. This is the best.
KimYeah, man. And we talked about this last night. Like, I never really thought. Well, I always I saw Sam in a manifestation once with a colorful friend. We have the same initial, like, you know, S-A-M, K-I-M. So, like, I saw her, but I really didn't understand what genuine friends truly were until I met you.
SamI'm honored. I'm honored. That's great. I mean, it's my pleasure. I've worked to become this woman. So the fact that just me being me enriches your life.
