What's up, beautiful people? It is me, Obi, once again, and uh we are coming back, not as well true podcast, we're coming back with a new name. Uh things happen. It's been almost a year and a half since I stopped uh making podcasts. I didn't stop because of my own will, but life comes, and that's the main purpose of this podcast: not giving up, coming back to it, getting hit hard and getting back up. On today's special episode, I have uh a person whom I see myself through. He's uh uh some steps ahead of me, and I think he's just like opening levels that I'm going into. Hustler, ambitious, and of course unstoppable. Ladies and gentlemen, uh, help me to welcome my a friend of mine, a brother of mine, Mr. Mohammed. Thanks for having me.
SPEAKER_00Hi, everybody. First of all, I would like to thank Obi for this opportunity. Yeah, man. Uh, we've been going back and forth uh regarding this podcast since one year. Finally, it has happened. It's okay. And I know for sure through this one year, both of us had our ups and downs. Yeah, man, we had to do that. We are here right now, right here. Correct, and I'm uh very happy to be a part of this. Thanks for having me. Uh, even though um, to be frank with you, last week there was a person who invited me for a podcast. Sure, sure, yeah. But I had to decline because I was in a rough patch in my life.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, man.
SPEAKER_00But when it's Obi that's calling, then I have to make it, you know? Because I know it's gonna be interesting.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, man.
SPEAKER_00All right, and uh as uh Obi already mentioned my name. My name is Mohammed Rashid. I'm half Sudanese, half Indian. I've been here in Oman for 27 years, hustling, struggling, winning, losing, everything that any normal human being can go through.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, man.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, it's good to be here.
SPEAKER_02Well, thank you so much for being here with me, man. I really, really appreciate having you here because well, the reason why I started these podcasts is because growing up, I wanted someone to tell me. I just, you know, uh, I've been through this, and what you're going through is not new to you. We all have been through this, and we made it out, yes, and certainly you're gonna make it out too as well. So, which means to the young people out there who don't have an opportunity to sit with their uh big brothers, to their uh elders, to show them the way this is your platform, this is why I created this, and this is the sole purpose of this. Talking about uh having someone who gives you the light of life, who just shows you uh, hey man, this path is gonna be tough, it's not gonna be easy, but it's not meant to be easy. Eventually, you're gonna be stronger than this, so it's gonna pass.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_02Talking about that, uh, you just had a son, which has the biggest blessing in my life. I've been following you and every single day. There's no time that passes, you don't update about your son, about you being a father. So, how does it feel to have to finally have someone home who's looking at you, who's looking after you?
SPEAKER_00Oh, you can see your pieces in that human being, you know? Yeah, that's that's the journey of uh of fatherhood. Fatherhood, yeah, yeah. You know, and uh um uh the reason, the main reason why I have this thing rooted inside me, yeah, the love for my children, is from my father.
SPEAKER_02It's from my father.
SPEAKER_00Because growing up, our father uh was uh both the mom and dad for us, he was always there with us, uh strict, yeah, but with the heart of a mother, of a mother, always uh willing to forgive us if we make mistakes. And every human being makes mistakes. It's how you deal with the person who is growing up, who doesn't have any uh manual or script about life. How do you guide that person to be um uh to be strong and to have uh uh a forgiving and uh a peaceful heart at the same time? So I think that's something me and my siblings have got from our father. Like if you ask me now personally, I don't uh see myself as uh as a very, very good human being or an angel. But when it comes to my child, it's it's something that comes from inside.
SPEAKER_02All right. Uh I was uh the other day I was listening to one podcast, and uh one guy from Japan he said the samurai had one great uh it's just like feature in themselves. Being tough and outside world, you know, you have to find the risk. You have to provide for the family. And there's no jokes in that. And the world will not have mercy on you. But and then when you get home with all that tiredness, with all that chaos you were dealing with outside, then all of a sudden that you know that softness comes in you. Say, I'm coming to my children. Of course, you have to show that you know, softness to them, the love, the kindness, no matter the disturbs you've got outside and that's no matter how much exhausted you are outside.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because I believe that uh all of us uh we are living more than one life.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_00One is the life that we show to the people outside, and one life which is behind closed doors. Yep. So for us to survive in this world, of course, we are giving more priority to the outside world because there is where we make our money, we make our name, and uh uh we we uh we are within society. So usually what happens is uh we give them more time, more energy. So when we are back home, yeah, you are drained of your energy. Definitely, and you sometimes you are uh uh with mixed emotions, uh-huh. But uh here is the the secret of having a good life, a good family life, which is not uh it's not uh something that you need to um study about or anything. It comes naturally, is that when you come back home, you should leave that outside life away from you. You should realize that just like the outside world is asking for your time and energy, yeah, your family deserves that as well. And plus, they should be your happiness. Like when you come back home, you close yourself from the outside world and you play with your uh with your son, you conversate with your wife, you share stories. That's the beauty of life. That's the beauty of life wherein you know that there is uh a world separate from the outside world where you are doing your best. Yeah. Alhamdulillah, we we keep trying, and for me, my son is a blessing from God. Why? It's because I'm not only raising him, but I'm raising myself at the same time. Learning new things, learning different kinds of patience levels. Definitely, yeah. Alhamdulillah, it's always it should be uh a child should be considered as a blessing from God, no doubt.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Alhamdulillah for that, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah for that.
SPEAKER_02You know, uh one of the blessings of life that I have never experienced is growing in uh uh how a home with a present father. My dad died uh at a very young age. I was still young. May God bless his soul. I was four years and growing up, I always wondered what growing with a father means. You know, moms are very soft sometimes and they go soft and a single mom who's trying to raise two boys. Yeah, it's hard. Um I was just wondering, like, uh am I ever gonna be uh like a man? Am I gonna have a virtue of a man? Because I never grew up seeing a man in my house. He never I never had um uh uh a chance to see my dad come home tired and I was to just to to grow with that picture in me. So when I grew up, I started realizing that. I say, okay, I might be missing something. Then I tried to lean on uh society and trying to find people, having a conversation with them, see like if I was your son, how what would you want me to be like? Okay, yeah, because I was scared of growing with a soft heart from my mother, yeah, but also I I I I saw she she was merciful to me. But now I'm um my question is you grew up with a dad who was doing all that he can to be to give you that softness of a mother and to show you the manhood and so and this is a huge package for your son, of course. He's going to grow with that. But do you ever feel like oh man, I don't want I don't want my son to ever miss me or to ever make anything uh you know when you are young, you are ruthless. Yes, you do this, you do that, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So do you ever have feel that fear like I just want to be present?
SPEAKER_00Yes, of course, of course. That fear is always at the back of a head of a father. Yeah. That uh am I giving my uh children the time that they need. But in the end of the day, like there are certain uh there's a foundation that you have to lay as a parent that okay, there should be uh love for your children, unconditional love, unconditional love wherein you don't think about yourself at all. It's your child that comes first. So once you lay this foundation, the child is capable of understanding more and more as they grow up, yeah, as they as they mature in life, that what their father did was something he had to do for the well-being of us. Which is how they can how they can have that emotions in them is like when you're working hard, when you're back home. Like, see, for me, sometimes in my line of work, I am 20 hours on the side. I'm working, exhausted, tired, listening to what the client has to say, listening to what the suppliers have to say. When I go back home, even if I'm dead tired, I make sure that I spend at least a few minutes with my son. It's never been that when I've entered my home, alhamdulillah, I'm very lucky that whenever I enter home, he runs to me. So it never has happened that he came running to me and I was like, No, let me go sleep. Or I just pushed him away. No, yeah, I just sit with him for like five, ten minutes, he starts watching the cartoon, he's happy, I'm happy, I go and I sleep, and then I wake up again and then I spend some time with my child. So it's time, no matter how much the duration, the time that you give your children, yeah, this is what means the world to them. To them, yeah, regardless of the toys, of the materialistic things that you can provide for them in the beginning while growing, they need your love. And love is for free, Obi.
SPEAKER_02Love is for free.
SPEAKER_00You you have so much love inside you that you can share it with the whole world. So if you need to share it with your children, it shouldn't be a hassle or a tough thing to do. You know what I mean? Definitely so uh, and uh for you, Obi, uh I understand uh the the life you have been through, yeah, okay, but in the same time, I would like to tell you that God has created these emotions inside a human being. Yeah, it's like factory settings, yeah. It's how you deal with life, okay, that you can turn on these switches wherein you can be a strong person when you want to be, you can be a very kind-hearted, uh generous person when you want to be. And this is the uh the the emotions that God has created in you, your conscience. Yeah, conscience that's what they call it. So Alhamdulillah, like I have known people who have grown with both their parents. My mom and dad also were separated as I was growing. But the love that they gave me individually was more than enough. I know a couple of people who have been staying with their family the moment they were born till now, and they don't have a peaceful heart. Yeah, they don't have a generous heart. So it's always it always comes down to the person.
SPEAKER_02To the person, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like how do you want to deal with life? Do you want to see your problems as your disability or do you want to see it as a platform where you can, you know, you can do something good, and then you can uh tell the people around you that hey, if I was able to do it, you can do it. Uh and I'm very proud of uh the level of dedication that you have. And personally, I have noticed, I'm not saying this because I'm in front of the camera, yeah, because I know you on a personal level, you have never left, you have never allowed the troubles of life to to bury you into depression, wherein you stop uh dealing with life in a normal way.
SPEAKER_02Definitely, man.
SPEAKER_00Alhamdulillah, and I wish you all the best in your uh career, whatever it is that you choose. Yeah, and as a brother, as a human being, whenever you call me, if I'm incapable of doing something, I will always be there. Because in my life, also I have needed help from a couple of people, and God was there to uh let me meet certain kind of people who are helping me out in life. So if I have to help someone, it shouldn't be a burden, it's a blessing, it's a blessing that God has chosen me. Okay, God has chosen you to do something good. Yeah, so Alhamdulillah, people I don't know why they shy from helping.
SPEAKER_02Helping each other, yeah.
SPEAKER_00When it's something that you should die for, yeah. I need someone to to sit with where I can do God's work, yeah, and I could sleep at home at night, relaxed and peaceful.
SPEAKER_02As a human being, yeah, definitely.
SPEAKER_00Alhamdulillah. I think uh it's the coffee guy. The guy coming, yeah. Can I take this? Yeah, sure, sure, sure. Yeah, get in, get a coffee break, guys. Aloam alaikum. Hello? Yes, okay. Uh ground floor, okay. Uh come inside from the uh from the left side of the building, okay? Uh the building that has this camera shop. Yes, same building. On the left side, if you go, there is an entrance. You come there on the ground floor, left side is the office, okay?
SPEAKER_02Somewhere to the hospital.
SPEAKER_00Uh it's just on the left side, the only office on the left side. Ground floor, so Aki office left side meeting. Okay, thank you. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_02No, definitely. So uh last year I went through a lot of things that also changed my perspective of life. Not so much, but on a very, very big level, I would say. Uh when when I grew up, uh my only success, the the only thing I'd considered a success in my life was giving my mom a better life. Just make giving her what no one has ever given to her. Especially no man has ever given to her because it's not a beauty of a dialogue. Yeah, I was jealous of a man. And every single choice I made out of my life was just based on that same principle. Is this gonna make her happy? Is this gonna make her life a lot better? So when I lost her, I just everything went blank. I was like, okay, so what's the purpose of life now? Where do I navigate to now? So and this gave me uh I just spent like three months pew just shot. Okay, and then coming back, I was like, okay, how do you come back from something that alters your life, changes it completely? How do you give back to yourself? How do you get yourself back? Because as a man, you cannot afford to lose yourself in this world. Of course. That's one thing I've learned.
SPEAKER_00And that's it to stop with our problems. It's just I have realized that, yeah.
SPEAKER_02You know, uh in my last year of high school, I used to perform well in the school back there, and then my mom was just starting to get sick really, really bad. And then one one time I received a call, hey, uh, your mom is really sick, you need to come. And then I had to come from school all the way, just like 40 minutes.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_02And then when I get there, the doctor told me, Hey, your mom, your mom's uh life insurance is expert.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_02And she's really sick, she was vomiting blood, and I was scared even to look at her. And then the doctor said, We cannot do anything, we just we can't help you. She needs help, but the insurance is not, it can't cover. I looked at him and said, I'm still wearing school uniforms. He looked at me with mice in his eyes and everything. I said, Yeah. He took me outside, he gave me a small paper, he wrote on some medicines that would help say, Hey, this is not if I if they catch me doing this, they'll punish me. But I see you, I see the condition. Take your mom, find this medicine on any pharmacy, get her back home, let her relax and stuff like that. So um I left the hospital and I was in the gates of the hospital. The world was you know spinning around me.
SPEAKER_00And you are at the age that you don't you don't have someone that you can depend on.
SPEAKER_02Never. Yeah, yeah, and then and I was like, oh, so the world continues, people are laughing in the road, people are just continuing about their their life, and my mom is dying in the hospital, and just taught me a big lesson. Yeah, that life goes on no matter no matter what you go in, that's not gonna stop people's lives. So dealing with that, it really creates it creates character, you know, going through that. The best thing is to survive it.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_02So, have you ever had a moment where it was like, oh man?
SPEAKER_00Yes, uh, I have been through moments in life that uh at that moment I used to think that the world has ended. I can never come out of it. Now when I think about it, I laugh. Yeah. This is nothing compared to what you now you're enjoying. The idea is that God has been telling us that this is the world that we are fighting for, we are lying for, dying for, yeah, and the life could go on without us. Without us, yeah, definitely. It's your uh foundation, your roots that you hold on to, which can be passed on from generation to generation. We can fight as much as we want in this world, we can cry as much as we want, we can laugh as much as we want, we will get only what God has written for us, yeah. So I understand. Like when the prop, that's why Allah says in Allah Ma'as Sabrin that God is with the people who have patience, not the ones who have strength, not the ones who are uh rich or poor, with the people who have patience. Because God will put you into trials and tests, and that is only to build your character. Yeah, it's not to punish you or not to anything, but it's to teach you patience because seriously, when we fight for this world and we are too attached with the materialistic world, you end up losing a lot, and in every uh situation in your life that's negative, yeah, it will always push you down and keep you there for a while.
SPEAKER_02Definitely.
SPEAKER_00So I I really respect the fact that you were able to handle whatever it is that you went through at that time, at that age, and then you were able to look at the world around you, even when you didn't have anyone to show you or guide you, you were able to look with your own eyes, with your own uh senses, that this is life. No matter what happens, life has to go on. Because there is someone out there who depends on you.
SPEAKER_02Definitely, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so this is the concept that I'm living with now. Because uh, see, my family knows me very well. I know myself whenever I go through depression, it's very hard for me to get out of it. I take months to get out of it. But ever since God blessed me with my son, yeah, I feel that there is no time to waste, and there is the reason to keep your uh to to to uh you know compare your life, like your problems, with this beautiful human being that God has given you as a responsibility. Sure. So the moment you focus on the things, on your real true blessings, you realize that there is no problem out there that can keep you down.
SPEAKER_02Never.
SPEAKER_00You just keep moving forward, and alhamdulillah, with time, God creates that sense of content in your heart. Whatever situation you are in, alhamdulillah. Like before, I always used to ask myself whenever I was having any problems, if God, why me? Why me? Okay, there's one problem. Why three, four more problems are coming at the same time? At the same time. But now I realize and I always tell God, thank you very much. And I know for sure when you want to lift someone, you will always put them through tests. Through tests, yes. And I'm not the only one, I'm the last one who went through this. So might as well come out of it with a new perspective in life, uh, a new idea, and then alhamdulillah, life goes on, and nothing remains forever. Nope, nothing remains permanent. This also will pass. Yes, this happiness, sadness, joy, poverty. It's just how you spend your time while you are in that moment because you don't know what's gonna happen in the next moment. So you cherish things more when God blesses you with children, with whatever it is. Some people their their uh piece of cake might be money, yeah, um, uh huge mansions. Yeah, so it's all about your perspective in life, and you have to have a certain reason or a target or a goal you work on so you can move forward always.
SPEAKER_02You you talked about perspective of life, and uh I just a couple days back uh I was saying the the the news on X Twitter people are saying that the Western world, the elites, they put a lot of money into shaping the perspective of people, especially young people billions of dollars to show us hey maybe material things is the only thing that gives you happiness. Okay, and we as young people we are out there just doing all we can. You can't sleep because you just want this next thing, you want this next thing. But being a hustler is necessary. Hustling, going out there, just getting that, but also connecting with uh your spirituality because the world around us is just trying to suppress that spiritual inner, and when you reach your spirit, you just become numb. And when you come numb, you just you can do anything. There's no law, you can't scope. Having dignity, having values, and having that hustler kind of a heart, it's it's difficult now in these days to balance the two. Okay. So, what is the advice? Of you know connecting with your spiritual self, but also maintaining you have to be with the world, you have to go out there. But in whatever you're doing, your dignity, your spiritual inner inner inner self, so how do you balance this on your perspective?
SPEAKER_00On your own for me personally, I um I'm I'm not uh very spiritually connected, yeah, but I know it's enough for me to be a human being. Definitely. Okay, so what I feel is that uh I always keep telling myself, if I'm capable of giving 20 hours to my work, yeah, what is five minutes for God? Okay, and uh you every time when I go to my work, I give my energy, my time, I always come back drained of energy. But those few minutes when I give it to God or spirituality, I always come back with a sense of peace. Like, hey, I did something that's a must for me to do, okay, and I didn't uh allow the materialistic world to control that. Why? Because your spirituality is gonna keep the good in you alive. Alive, yeah. The light in you alive, and every human being needs that light.
SPEAKER_02We need it.
SPEAKER_00You need it. Either for yourself or for other people, there has to be a light inside of you which comes through spirituality.
SPEAKER_02The streets will never ever lift you up. They just access to give.
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they're going to exploit you, and then until when you realize you cannot get out of here. Oh my god, they're hoping that the world is less.
SPEAKER_00They don't know your problems, they don't, they don't care about you, they only care about what you are capable to give.
SPEAKER_02Nobody's gonna take a bullet for you.
SPEAKER_00And when you have God and when you're connected with your spirituality, you always get that sense of a patience that I can you know face the world. I cannot become like the next man. Yeah if if he's telling himself that I am doing what I'm doing to provide for my family or to do something by stepping on someone else, yeah, I cannot be like that man. I don't want to be like that man. And and the connection with God is what keeps you away from these kinds of decisions because it's just a matter of a second where you can make a good choice or a bad choice.
SPEAKER_02So, um, what success meant to you like 10 years ago, 15 years ago, has it changed? Yes, what you saw as success 10 years ago, is it still the same or now is it?
SPEAKER_00Oh, it has changed, it has drastically changed, and my will for success has changed as well. Yeah, before, like if you say 10 years back, I was living a very careless life. Yeah, I was not uh worrying about tomorrow. Because see, when uh when my mother and father separated, my mom had to travel to India to a place called Mumbai, which is the hub in India. Like people from different places they come to Mumbai, it's a very fast life. Yeah, it's so I went there uh when I was uh 13 years old, yeah, and the type of people I grew up with, they were the type of people that Muhammad, we have today to live only. So, whatever we can make out of life, we'll make it today. Tomorrow, whatever happens, we'll see it anyway. We will sleep and get up and tomorrow see what happens. Which was there for in my life for about five years.
SPEAKER_02Five years, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So when I was out of that environment and I came back to Oman, it was very hard for me to cope with with the people around me. Yeah, wherein everyone I'm sitting with has plans for life five years ago, five years ahead. Sorry. And for me, I don't know, I don't have a plan for what I will do next week.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, man.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so uh by the passage of time, okay, and and and when I came back to man, I uh Oman, I spent more time with my father, yeah, who to me is my role model, he's my superhero, he's the most successful person I've ever met in my life and the most hardworking. So I lived around him, okay, and I changed my circle around people who are thinking about the future. Yes, yeah, and my father used to always tell me this, Muhammad, Muhammad, you are the type of person that when you sit in a gathering, you are not the leader, but you are the main person. Yeah, focus, you make them laugh, you you speak different languages. But trust me, Muhammad, when the time comes, these guys will go forward and you will find yourself in the same place. Definitely. So I took that to my heart. And then until recently, I swear to God, Obi, till like uh you can say two years from the time I got married, yeah. My whole perspective about life changed. And when I had this boy, it changed even more to a level I didn't know I could unlock in life. Yeah, so for before, success for me was success at the moment. For me, now success has to be continuous, yeah, and it has to be planned wherein even the type of work that I choose to do now is thinking about the future of my son. When he grows up, he should be proud of saying my father used to do this and that and not be ashamed of talking about it. I want to also teach him the idea that there is no shame in work as long as it's uh it's uh and you're providing and you're not hurting anyone, but in the end of the day, with your this is the unconditional love I'm telling you about. Your love for your son, you want your son to be standing with his head high around people and saying that my father did this and this and this. So for me, success now is the success of my child and the generations to come after that. So I want to build now, I want to create. I don't want something to stop when my uh when I stop, when I'm no longer here. Yeah, no, I want it to keep on. That's how your name is carried from one generation to another.
SPEAKER_02To another, yeah, definitely.
SPEAKER_00And for that, I know I must work very hard. I must give it all, give it my all, but then again, God is gonna God is gonna bless me for as long as I have my good intentions.
SPEAKER_02Uh you just mentioned the the group of people you were just around, uh then Mumbai or back here. If you look in the life of successful people today, you'll find they had brothers, they had someone they're working with, someone who was by their side, a team or something. Which I I I realized that having people whom you share the same um vision, the same ambitions, it's really important. But we are in the world where I think this is very hard. You can't I can't even mention if I have a best friend now. I don't have a best friend, I don't have someone close to me who knows everything I do, who I don't.
SPEAKER_00Who can guide you, advise you.
SPEAKER_02It's really expensive these days to have someone like that. A brother, you just and if you have uh such kind of a brother like that, I believe that you can just achieve a lot. But we are all just we have uh we have developed this individualism kind of stuff and this. Yeah, have you ever had someone just for me? Either that person is gonna push you down or is gonna help you achieve your dreams. And for me, I had this. I I was to a point where I had a best friend, I was just I'm I'm gonna let it go. I was I was looking at here and he was looking at here. We don't have to to to all be podcasters, yeah, but at least we have the same ambition of success.
SPEAKER_00Yes, you are you have to be able to motivate each other, you have to have something to show. Definitely like I cannot be jobless and I can motivate someone, okay, even if I I see it in social media. I cannot do that. Yes, because to a certain level, I won't be able to give my my true uh struggle, or I won't be able to explain the truth about how you struggle if you don't struggle. Yeah, what I mean. So for me, life was my best teacher. Yeah, even in the times of depression when I'm low, I always used to come out of it, and I would be like the thing I learned from life is that it goes on without you. I have held it very close to my heart that there might come a day where it would start without me.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_00So if I'm depressed, if I'm low, I'm the one who's gonna lose the most. So always I kept telling myself that if I want to get out of this, I'm the only one who can pull myself out of it. Alhamdulillah. There was like uh support, it wasn't consistent, but my family, my father, and my uh three sisters, yeah, they did as much as they could. You know, so I cherished that, and I always thought that Muhammad, like uh there are people out there who truly love you, and they depend on your happiness and peace. So you must, you know, you must keep going.
SPEAKER_02Going, yeah.
SPEAKER_00You cannot stop in one place because that would be like destroying that's suicide. That's suicide.
SPEAKER_02Suicide and so um balancing between Oman, uh, India. I've had friends who just grew up in between like that. Coffee.
SPEAKER_00I don't know. It's been like ten minutes, he didn't reach them now.
SPEAKER_02You are so beautiful people. Um as again, it's Muhammad here, and uh today I just want to let you know that White True Podcast is not dead, it just came up uh refined as VUCAP. So the VUCAP is the name of the show you're watching with me, your host Obi. I am coming here with uh uh the greatest of uh uh of a podcast we can ever get. Uh of course, just uh please consider subscribing to our YouTube channel, follow us on all social media platforms where we are on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify. You can get there. We have VuCAP VUKU up. Yeah, then uh yeah, hit us up. Let's see what's going on with you, and uh we're gonna be here with you on all sorts of interviews, uh spiritual entertainment, entrepreneurship, which is the most important target of this podcast. Uh we're gonna have to be uh I I won't be uploading these podcasts weekly. Inshallah, I'm planning on that because uh we've invested a lot of money and uh and the equipment so we can get you the best uh podcast in town every single week. I don't know, I don't even know how to pose it.
SPEAKER_00And it's a woody design and the com a sasa worry, no guarding this we design.
SPEAKER_02All right, so the coffee's here. Yeah, from rules. It's not a big sponsorship, by the way. Shout out to Rules, they should they should they should review this and uh get us one of the best coffee, yeah. You know, I just I hope to one day to come back on this podcast making money out of it.
SPEAKER_00Inshallah, for sure.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so for the people out there, do consider subscribing. That's the best way to help us. The name of the show is VUCAP. It used to be Wild True Podcast, but I I realized that that is a technical term because I was into software by at the time and until now I still am, but I wanted to make it something you know neutral and also uh focusing on the theme of the podcast. Vukup means it's a Zulu word, also you can find it in Swahili. All right, Vuka. It's just like rise up, okay, to wake up. Beautiful, nice and then I added up up, so stand up, rise up. Okay, yeah, okay. What uh what what's one thing that keeps you just what makes you wake up every day or just like you're happy, you're grateful, and say hey, I can't wait to wake up tomorrow.
SPEAKER_00It's the competition, man.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, man.
SPEAKER_00It's a competition, like every day you wake up and you are able to do something good, yeah. That is uh that can bring a change in society and and and uh something that you can learn from, that should be the reason to let you wake up every day. If you focus much on the financial aspect of it, like there would be days where you would tell yourself that what I'm getting paid for this job is not enough, so might as well not do it.
SPEAKER_02Not do it.
SPEAKER_00But when the when the main idea of uh of working is that you want to learn something new, oh my god, you can reach heights that uh you would be surprised about. Like you can one day look at yourself and be like, hey, I'm capable of doing that. Wow, how would you know you're capable of doing things only when you do it? When you do it, yeah. Try one time, two times, three times, and and trust me, uh, believe it or not, when I I'm I I used to work for one of the top AV companies in Oman, and when I started, my salary was only 180 reals as a project manager. Um my god, there were times when I used to go back home and I would sit with my wife with I swear to God, with tears in my eyes, I would tell her that I am I'm an educated man, uh I can do more than this. Why am I getting this less for so much work? So my wife, uh, thanks to God, she was and she still is very supportive, alhamdulillah. So she had only uh this thing to tell me was that Muhammad, if you think that you are gaining something out of this more than money, go ahead. And if you think that you cannot do it anymore, make your decision. No matter what, we are always gonna be there for you. So, another aspect that lets you wake up in the morning and to face the world is family, it's the support. Because trust me, words and love, like I said, don't cost a thing. Yeah, so it's the the the choice of words that you give to a person can make that person or break that person. That's why I always uh uh keep in mind that I should choose my words before spitting them out.
SPEAKER_02Spitting them out, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so Alhamdulillah.
SPEAKER_02Man, uh I am closing into my 30s.
SPEAKER_00MashaAllah. Still still leaking you have a whole life ahead of you, bro.
SPEAKER_02But the idea of marriage, before my mom passes away, she was forcing me. Allah forcing me to get married, get married. I need a grandchild. And then I started thinking about it. I I um I don't it's something I don't I really didn't have in my mind at the time. I just I have young brothers and sisters. Um, they're my main focus in life. I just want to get them somewhere. And I was like, okay, getting married is uh it's scary these days.
SPEAKER_00There is no time for more responsibilities in life, right? You would tell yourself.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, and then I was like, okay, having a great partner, it it must yeah, but I uh is it a gamble or is uh see?
SPEAKER_00Uh I always uh believe that you can never know the depth of the sea without putting your foot into it. Yeah, that each and every person could have a different experience, different look at it. But I believe that this is something that a man should go through. Yep, this is where your true growth happens. Yeah, like when you get married, you know that there's someone who's depending on you on a daily basis, and this is someone who's gonna share the good and the bad with you, so you start growing in a different way in life, and then Alhamdulillah. When you get the blessing of a child, then you you you witness a different kind of growth that no person without a child could tell you. Like there is no person out there, no matter how wise they are, they cannot explain to you the beauty of this blessing unless and until they have it with them personally. That's why I always keep saying that it's a huge blessing from God, and there are so many people out there who are not able to have this blessing, and trust me, they are willing to do whatever it is, yeah, to get to it. Yeah, when you have it and you have got it easily, you have to hold on to it with your life.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so my advice to you is uh you still have time. Yeah, I I don't mean anything bad about marriage, but you still have time. Yeah, and uh see when you are capable of fully loving yourself and taking care of yourself, only then will you be able to take care of other people.
SPEAKER_02Other people, yeah, definitely. So when you are ready for it, you will get the feeling.
SPEAKER_00All you have to do is just you know, uh make a pact between you and God that God, whenever it comes, I'll be ready for it. And trust me, when you get married, the the wife who depends on you, she comes to you with her blessings. That subhanallah, whatever you are expecting, you can get more than that because of her blessings that's coming through you. Then when you have a child, the child's blessings come through you as a parent. So it's uh it's it's it's it's something very, very good. Very good, yeah. Something you should do. I got married when I was 38 years old.
SPEAKER_02So you still have time.
SPEAKER_00You still have time.
SPEAKER_02Plenty of time, plenty of time.
SPEAKER_00Yes, and I wish you all the best. Oh, thanks for that. And uh the intentions that you have, based on that same intentions, you will get a life partner. Always keep in mind.
SPEAKER_02You know, when I came here in Oman, I met a lot different of people, different kinds of people. And I just stopped college.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_02I came here, I was like, uh, I I was a kind of studying guy. I loved school, I loved studying, I loved computers and everything. And when I came here, I just wanted to explore more. And then I've never been in a country where there is a lot of foreigners before. So coming here, you just you don't you don't usually meet the locals at the most, you're dealing with foreigners like you. And there's people that are just ruthless, they're here for money, and then when they see you, they just they see what can I get from this guy? They don't care what your story, they don't care your burdens. It's just surviving war, it's just like a jungle kind of thing.
SPEAKER_00You're absolutely right.
SPEAKER_02And when I came to your place, the same time I met you, I was like, this guy's real. You know, you're finding a real person with no something just hidden behind a smiling face and everything. Yeah, it's it's just uh it was uh I was amazed. I was amazed by the character just being there for you, just for the sake of just you know, say if I can hold your hand, it doesn't cost me anything, just get your hand. And I've met some really, really good people uh here. Um have been who have given me, you know, more than any person I've known for years could have given me. And and this is the love of the brotherhood. And this is just like a homework to me. I feel I have depth to hold the hand of any young man out there, or a woman or whatever who it is. If there is anything I can do for them, just uh I started my podcast because just one guy was like, okay, you can come. I just click on my dream. And this today to get you here was one of the reasons I really wanted to have this conversation with you. Tell the story, tell the young uh generation. You know, it doesn't require much success or bigger bank account to just uh to give life experience to someone. So for the young people out there who are still struggling, who are on the street on the street who are there to the world to just face it, what's one advice? What's one advice you can give today? The young hustlers, to the young boys and girls out there, just like me. You know, the world is changing and the the youth we are the ones who are bearing the burden, the huge burden.
SPEAKER_00And they're having enough by the way, huh? Yeah, man.
SPEAKER_02We have no knowledge of uh what's going on in the world. Everyone is manipulating us, our thoughts, what matters in life, what doesn't matter. In your experience, uh you've worked like hundreds of jobs.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I have jumped a lot of careers, you know.
SPEAKER_02Which one thing?
SPEAKER_00Okay. I don't have much to say. I will keep it very simple and very easy to understand is that you have to believe this is the most, most, most important thing that a human being can carry with himself or herself is belief.
SPEAKER_02Belief.
SPEAKER_00You have to believe that today is different, tomorrow is gonna be different. All you have to do is you have to have a clean heart. Yeah, you have to understand that whatever things you are going through in life, you are not the first and the last person who has gone through it or will go through it. There are people who are having it worst. That's it. Just keep telling yourself and find yourself a reason to succeed. That's why God created this world with a lot of human beings. Or God is capable of creating a land for each person to live in that land by themselves and do by themselves and be as rich as they can by themselves. But we need people in our life. We need family, we need friends, we even need the people who teach you a lesson in life. Yeah, you know what I mean? Because now uh maybe my family will not teach me a lesson out of love, but the ruthless person who thinks about himself will teach me a lesson so I can understand how to deal with the rest of the world. And keep you keep it in your mind that never use this as an excuse that the other person did me bad, so I will do the same to someone else. No, otherwise there will not be any difference between you and that person. So, success is is uh has a different definition for different people, different people, yeah. How you look at it, and uh you human beings are are have superpowers, trust me. Each and every human being is capable of doing things everyone else does. Never restrain yourself by saying that I'm capable capable of doing a certain thing, I I cannot learn more. No, just keep an open mind and be ready for whatever life has to throw at you. And trust me, when you come out of any uh struggle or any problem that you are facing, you come out of it victorious or with a life lesson, it will be hugely satisfied.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00Plus, always consider yourself as a strong pillar in society. If you are in society, you have to do something for society. It's not like they don't care about me, I'm not gonna care about them. No, it's on you as an adult person, as a mature person to do something for the society. After that, it's you and your conscience, whether you want to do good or bad. Or bad, yeah. Whatever it is, you're gonna get it back in life. Karma is uh alive and breathing, yeah, okay, and it has infinite uh eyes where it's watching everyone at the same time. So you do good, you get good.
SPEAKER_02It catch ups of interest.
SPEAKER_00Everyone has been uh living on that. Different generations have been living on this same fact, and it never changes. Do on others as you want others to do on you, and that's it, it's very simple. And I wish everyone all the best. All the beasts. And uh always uh never consider yourself in a position where you shouldn't ask for help. No, never shy away from that.
SPEAKER_02I am I am an ambassador for that. I have never ever been shy of saying, hey, look, I'm down. Where can I go? What can I do? And it does wonders. If you never ask you, it doesn't make you weak.
SPEAKER_00Yep, it doesn't uh reduce from your character, no.
SPEAKER_02You have to accept the vulnerabilities, yeah.
SPEAKER_00You have to ask Show me one single human being who's thriving in this life and is doing very good and is happy and doesn't have people around them.
SPEAKER_02Even the monks, they have each other. They help each other, yeah, definitely. Yeah, exactly. So you have to be in touch with your vulnerable side. Yes, have to understand your weakness and uh yeah, something you're incapable of doing for yourself, someone else has. And it's just one question away.
SPEAKER_00One more thing.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_00Always focus on doing something for yourself. Okay, this corporate world has this uh ability of bringing you in and keeping you there for a very, very long time. You know, whether it's by uh getting you uh used to the fact that you are getting a certain amount every month through which you are covering your responsibilities. Always, while you can at a young age, try to take the risk.
SPEAKER_02Yeah man.
SPEAKER_00Anyone who's been super successful in this life, if you uh if you listen to their backstory, they will have this to say that they took that uh step, that risk, they did suffer, but the end was uh satisfying and pleasing. So you have to always take that risk and never kill yourself trying to fulfill somebody else's dreams. If you can work 20 hours to uh to make somebody else's dream come true, you can work at least five hours on yourself, and trust me, that will build your character, that will build a life for you wherein you can accept more and more loved people in it.
SPEAKER_02Definitely, uh you know, you spend eight hours working for someone and you feel exhausted when you are working on yourself on your own project. You cannot even work 24 hours.
SPEAKER_00And they can give up on you, trust me, they can give up on you on a s on one day. One mistake from you, they can they can forget you, they can forget your existence. But if you work on yourself, you will never forget yourself. Every day you have to get up and see yourself in the mirror, right? Yeah, you're never gonna let go of yourself, you're never gonna forget yourself. So work on yourself before working on others or for others. I do understand the responsibilities of life push you to to work uh in a company or in the corporate world so you can pay your bills. But God is great.
SPEAKER_02If you give yourself the opportunity of doing more support, yes, you have to you must plan a way out. Exactly.
SPEAKER_00Nobody had it uh at a young age, right? Nobody was born with a there were some people who were born with a silver spoon, but they weren't able to to uh maintain what they what they have. But when you build your uh a thing with your own hands, with yourself, you would be able to maintain it for a long, long time.
SPEAKER_02Young people we have a problem nowadays. We just want to have it now. And these people, it took them years, sacrifices, you know. Uh I was uh I was listening to one podcast yesterday. They said most successful people they lack something in their life. Either they have broken families, poor health, they just have to sacrifice something. Everything comes with a price, yeah. And nowadays we just young people we just want it now. I just want to have that car now. It's like you said at Obi.
SPEAKER_00It's the sourced media that has now now. If you watch all the videos, they are not more than 30 seconds. So they have kept this thing, they have they have uh uh what do you call it? They have made people uh used to the fact that everything should finish fast. Now, for me, when when I watch a movie, when I try to watch a movie, I swear to God, within like 15 minutes of the movie, I'm bored. Yeah, attention span is. I want to see something. Yeah, you are right. So this is how they are shaping the young generation, but like I say, it comes upon the previous generation to guide the new generation, just like our parents did with us. Absolutely like you remember our parents every time used to have a problem with us, don't stay out till late, go outside, don't play outside for long. Now, people, now parents are fighting with their kids to go and play out, you know? So the older generation, even if they don't understand truly the current situation, yeah, they have been through a lot of experiences in life. And if they love you, if they truly love you, they fear for you. They fear for you, they want to guide you as much as I can. But in the end of the day, it's you who will write your own story, it's you who's gonna carry yourself till the last day.
SPEAKER_02Definitely, yeah.
SPEAKER_00But you might as well, you know, work on yourself. Like I said, if you're willing to work for others, you should work for yourself on yourself.
unknownMr.
SPEAKER_02Mohammed, uh, do you ever think man's mental health is not taken seriously as other people in society?
SPEAKER_00Of course, without a doubt. Because society itself has shaped us in this way, right? Like if you are a man, you shouldn't cry. If you are a man, you shouldn't complain.
SPEAKER_02Be tough, you have to be how can you be weak? How can you be depressed? Yes, and now you know the numbers of men who take their own life a lot. Skyrocketing.
SPEAKER_00You're right, skyrocketing because they you cannot keep your uh your feelings and emotions suppressed for a long time. You are a human being.
SPEAKER_02How can you be don't be like this?
SPEAKER_00Be tough, and subhanAllah, they always say that everyone is equal. Men and women are equal, not, but society itself has created this category, this fake thing, illusion. Illusion, yeah. Just to to keep men and women always uh competing with them. Yeah, competing with shadows. There shouldn't be any competition. We are here in a very vast and huge world. We are here to share our lives together, to complete each other. Never will a woman be able to do all the things that a man is supposed to do. Never a man will be able to do everything that a woman is supposed to do. We are here to complete each other. So, this is the problem with the society. They they always uh focus on women's mental health more. Why? Because who's the breadwinner from from from uh previous times? It's men, right? It's men. So if you want to break society, break the backbone of the family. And the backbone of the family is always a man. This is not uh a disrespect to women, no. Women are a man is only as strong as uh strong is his partner, yeah, is uh the women in his life, but it has always been like this that the man has always been the backbone of the family and society in using the backbone, it's hard-coded in us, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So for the young men, young brothers are there, seek support, sit with your big brother, seek sit with your fathers.
SPEAKER_00It doesn't have to be blood, and you know, sometimes it's upon you it's upon you also to soften your father's heart. You don't know what that man has gone through right the things and the sacrifices, and maybe the father doesn't know how to show his true emotions. So it's on you to sit because now you everyone is uh is emotionally more in touch with themselves, men and women of this generation. You know the right words to say, you know how to approach someone, so sit with your father. I feel that your father deserves that much. That you sit with your dad and try to soften his heart. And trust me. And trust me, when when the heart softens, when your father's heart softens, you will realize that he's a human being just like you, and he's fragile just like you, who's capable of breaking just like you, and words can make that person extremely happy. So we we we have that uh responsibility upon us that your parents, you have to sit and and and and and be close to them. But time has pushed everyone away now. Now people are sitting together on the same dining table, eating together, but everyone is on their phones.
SPEAKER_02We're just connected with the outer world. We have given much priority to the world, we just want to catch up with the world, and you don't even know what the person next to you is going through. True. You know, you realize that you just we don't know each other. You are living there in the under the same roof, but you don't even know what's going on in people's lives.
SPEAKER_00A human being consists of energy. Yeah, so unless and until you sit and you give yourself time to focus on or to to feel the other person's energy, you will not know what they are going through, even if they are quiet. A lot of people they don't talk. So it's the energy that they give out. If you are if you are free enough to feel that energy, yeah, you will be able to know that this come on, like I'm sure that your wife can see you and feel that what you are going through.
SPEAKER_02What you're going through, yeah. Even if you don't have to say it.
SPEAKER_00You as a husband, you can see your child. Yeah, uh my child doesn't know how to speak yet. But how do I know what he wants? It's because of studying the energy, studying his emotions. And this comes by giving time. I cannot be on the phone and focus on the person sitting next to me. That's it's a good thing. We are busy liking and commenting on people's lives, and we are keeping our own lives.
SPEAKER_02Forgetting the ones who are just in a circle.
SPEAKER_00And I don't blame, I don't blame people. It's it's like this is kind of a way they are brainwashing people. And this thing is like it's it's it is there in life. Like if you sit with someone and you give them certain information every day, every day, every day they'll start believing it no matter what. Yeah, so this is what social media is doing. They feed it to you if you have control on your younger siblings or your kids to not spend much time on on uh social media, try to stop them, but at the same time, give them time.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_00I cannot keep my son alone at home and uh tell him not to watch TV, yeah, and I'm not giving him time. Take your kids outside, go for a run on the beach, play with them. And they would they they just need your time, huh? Trust me, they don't need the most expensive phones, yeah, the most expensive tablets. They need you.
SPEAKER_02The gadgets are just it's just to drift them away from reality. So um there's one simple thing I just want to close on this one, but I would feel betraying uh my brothers and sisters who are there if we close this session without talking about it.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02There's one day I'm uh naturally I think due to the life I grew up in, I just I'm emotionally tough. I just grew up in uh life that doesn't just support emotions. But there's one time I was in my bella PP, you know, this uh petrol station on the other side. It was late night at just 2 a.m. I guess.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02And I was in the car, just back there, and I was looking straight. I was feeling in the car, and I was looking straight to the some shops out there. I saw one guy, I believe he's South East, uh South Asia, some India, Pakistan, somewhere like that. Okay. This guy was standing with the menu on these carac shops and everything, and he's just a grown man. And he was sleeping, standing in the heat. And I was facing him like this, and I just I looked at him and I felt my heart that image has never left me. It has been like four months, but that image has never left me. There are men who came to these countries in the Middle East, who have families back, who are going through a lot of people. You know, my grandmother used to say, All of a sudden, all your problems they just evaporated.
SPEAKER_00Right?
SPEAKER_02It's disappeared, and I was like, wow. There are people who are living a tough life out here, and may just trying to support their families, earning very, very late, but you just don't give it for the family. And uh I remember my grandmother used to tell me, Hey, Obi, the mean the uh the time you start looking at things, things you're just watching every day, you were seeing them every day, but you just see the different image in it, that's when you realize they have grown. Yes, and I was like, I've been seeing these people all the time. I've been like one of them, just working in the hospitality industry, but that image stuck with me, and I was like, as a man, you have a responsibility. You've gonna provide no matter what you're gonna do.
SPEAKER_00Giving up is not an option, it's not an option, yeah.
SPEAKER_02And for the people who leave their countries, who live their dreams, who live their loved ones, whether you come this heat, you are just the true heroes. We don't realize that by the way. Yeah, they are the true heroes.
SPEAKER_00They are the ones who build the foundation of a country. Okay, they do the jobs that you and I cannot do.
SPEAKER_02Cannot do, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so they are the see the that's why I call them. Uh, there was a song also, a rock song. Yeah, it's like working class heroes. Yes, the true heroes of of this world are the working class people because the type of life you have to face day in, day out to be able to carry your responsibilities is overwhelmingly. The type of words you have to hear at work while you are doing your work, it makes you, you know, there are so many men I know that when they go back home, they are not even able to speak about their day at work.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because if they speak about it, it will just make everyone around them feel emotional and feel bad for them. But then again, you have to wake up the next day and you have to go there. That's why, like I said, like whenever you go through anything, you tell yourself, I'm not the only person who has gone through this, and not the last person who will go through this.
SPEAKER_02There are people who have been through worst moments when like your grandmother.
SPEAKER_00Is she alive or is she passed away? She is still alive alive. May God bless her and give her uh good health. She sure was writing what she said. Sometimes you have to stop and look. When I see look, not see, look, observe what other people's and understand. Like there was a in in the in the middle of our conversation you told me that you met with some foreigners, expatriates who you know that they have come here only for money, they have in touch with anything. These people also, if you look at their background, you will realize that maybe this person has sold all his wife's gold.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_00His I know some Indians who have sold their lands to come here and work, and they were promised a nice job. That's true. They are cleaning bathrooms, I swear to God, Obi. So imagine this person, again, it comes to your conscience, but sometimes life beats you so hard that you don't know anything called conscience. You start thinking of yourself.
SPEAKER_02You face the pain of staying, the pain of going back, and you're just like it's hurtful.
SPEAKER_00Imagine you leave your family and you are under the idea that you're going there for a respectful job and you have sold a lot of your uh uh things to do. And when you come here, you realize yourself you're doing a job that you wouldn't do it back in your home country. But you have come here, and going back and complaining to your family is not an option anymore. What are you gonna do? You sold your land, you sold your wife's gold, you have to make up the money. You can't successful as the people of the country. I don't consider I'm not an Omani, but I grew up here. I consider this is my home. My wife is Omani. Yep, I want to live here, I want to raise my child here. So, us as the people of the country, we should be more flexible and we should understand what they are going through. Yeah, these individuals are here, they just it's because you are these people's family here in this country. Yeah, they have no one. So if you are a person who's uh who's thinking of only yourself, yourself, your benefits when you are within your family, your own country, around your own people, yeah, then I'm sorry to say you are uh you are a very selfish person. You are a person who doesn't know humanity, and trust me, trust me, God will always be with the person who has good intentions.
SPEAKER_02I'm just grateful. This country to the stories I've had, other people experiences in the other, you know, nations and they're doing a great job. Yes, they're doing a decent decent people.
SPEAKER_00And it's a very secular country, by the way. You are from another religion, from another race, you are respecting. Just the law is the same for everyone. But in the end of the day, it comes to certain individuals, which happens in every country. All your fingers are the same, right? But then again, as good people in society, why do I say that when you grow up, you have a responsibility towards society, is what you can convey to your friends to your brothers from the same country. Okay, is like explain to them that there is a certain way of treating people who have come away from their own home, from their homeland, from their family, away from them. At least let them live and work with dignity.
SPEAKER_02Definitely.
SPEAKER_00And we have there is not one person, you tell me, in this world who's working not for the financials. All of us are here working for our stomachs to feed ourselves and to feed our family. So never take that for granted and never think that the next person would not need the money now. No, if you are committed to something, give the money what the people deserve on time.
SPEAKER_02Competency. Just like you would expect for yourself, man. Yep. Give the people.
SPEAKER_00So that's it. And and always focus on yourself, focus on building yourself, and always try or try to make your dreams come true.
SPEAKER_02I've had people, my friends, I know back home. Yes. In my hometown. They come here and they forget. They were hustlers back at home. They were just doing great, go running after here. They just had to get that money. And when you come here, just they just dwell. And they won't catch up with you.
SPEAKER_00They get used to the car, they get into that comfort zone.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, man. I've seen them. So to the hustlers out there, hey, stay focused. Get the bag, go home. Never forget your roots. Yeah, man. Yes. Build something, build where you come from.
