SPEAKER_00

Hello, we are back with another solo episode. And in this episode, we're talking about visibility. But not in the way you might expect. Not the loud, overwhelming, be everywhere all of the time kind of visibility. No, no, no. This is all about being aligned, intentional, and making it sustainable. If you're a performer, creative or entrepreneur, listen in because you will need to be showing up more. And I hope that this episode helps you to stop overthinking it, stop overvoiding it, and questioning where to even begin. You are listening to the Showbiz Side Hustle Podcast, powered by Performapreneur. This episode is about giving you clarity. It's about giving you strategy. It's about making sure you understand that visibility is not vanity, it's absolute business necessity. Today, in this episode, I'm going to take you on a bit of a whistle stop tour through what I believe are the essentials for being visible successfully, including clarity, confidence, and creativity. All things that you guys here in the Showbiz Side Hustle Podcast community already have in abundance. So listen in because I'm hoping that some of this information will help you to get more strategic in your visibility, to be seen by more people, and then obviously build your business and your visibility more successfully. So let's start with a very quick overview of the foundations that I think are absolutely key to visibility. And they are identifying your ideal client, building your knowlike and trust, showing up where you will be seen, not necessarily just where you like to hang out, and understanding the fact that we do not sell on our social media, in our pictures, in person, we storytell. And these are the foundations that are built into my 5C strategy, my visibility strategy. And these five C's I'm going to be talking to you today quickly, taking you through the connection, the clarity, the confidence, the consistency, and the creativity. My 5C visibility strategy. So stick with me. And if you want any more information, any more details, anything explained further, then drop me an email, DM me, or pick up the Showbiz Side Hustle Handbook. I'm gonna leave you with this ad. If you're evolving from performer into entrepreneur, whether your Showbiz Side Hustle is just taking shape or already building momentum, this is the roadmap for you. The Showbiz Side Hustle Handbook is exactly what I wish someone had handed me when I started my business journey 20 years ago. Inside, I guide you through my performapreneur success strategy, including identifying your transferable skills, understanding your ideal client, positioning yourself as an authority in your niche, and building visibility so you can show up confidently and consistently. It's practical, it's honest, and it's written specifically for performers navigating the entertainment industry now and what lies beyond it. If you're ready to increase your income, support your industry career, and secure your future, grab your copy of my best-selling book, The Showbiz Side Hustle Handbook, via the link in the show notes below. Brilliant, welcome back. We are going to look first and foremost at number one, the first C in my strategy connection. We all know that connection is key, and you can connect with your potential clients, your audience in a multiple variety, huge different ways. Um, online and offline, live or recorded, rehearsed, impromptu, in person, in large groups, one-to-one, as text, as imagery, spoken word, and there's various places that you can do that connection, and that is gonna be forming part of my second C. So the first one is connection. We know it's key, and there's so many places. So just get that cemented in your mind that the reason you are going visible is to connect, you need to be building those relationships through your visibility. And the second C I'm gonna touch on today in this podcast episode is clarity. Um, because it's all very well knowing you have to be seen and um having those foundational ideas in place, but if you are not clear on why, where, and who, it becomes really difficult to hone in and pin down what you need to do. So the second C is clarity. Do you know why you are being visible? Do you know where you need to be visible? And do you know who you're trying to reach and um send and share your message and your marketing to? This is super important, and we can work one-to-one or in a group program or with through my membership to really get that clarity you need. But just a little overview of the who, where, and why, it could be on and offline, as I've said before. And some of the ways you might want to do this is social media, PR, and networking. So, today in this visibility podcast, I'm gonna talk you through those quick fire um places to be visible, and then if you wanted some more detail about your ideal client and um the where and the how and the who, we can do that one-to-one or in our group program coming soon. But first and foremost, social media. We all know it, we all love it, we all use it, we might hate it, but it is a minefield, um, and there are so many popular social media sites to choose from that it does become a little bit, like I said, a minefield. Um, so you have to understand and find clarity in which ones you want to use. If you listened to last week's episode, the QA episode, I did answer a question from Danny and I did say that you have to enjoy being on that platform that you choose first and foremost. But then once you have found a couple that are working for you and you enjoy, you need to get more clarity around how to use it and why you should be using it. Um, and so let's just touch on that really briefly. It is free, pretty much free, or very low cost. Social media is a very low-cost solution to be invisible, um, and it can literally send you viral if you are using it correctly. Um, and there's people on there 24 hours a day. It's a two-way street. You're gonna meet people, they're gonna see you, you're gonna see them, you create connection, you create relationships, all on this free platform in your phone. Um, and you can choose where you want to be seen, depending on, like we've already said, um, your ideal clients, where they hang out, what you're trying to sell, where you enjoy, and things like that. But please do consider for your visibility strategy getting clear on which platforms you're going to use and why and how. And remember, they all have that fabulous um technology that shows you what's working and what's not. So do tap into that too. PR and publicity is another incredible way of being visible, um, it gives you credibility, and in today's world, where yes, social media and AI can send people down a bit of a rabbit hole of curiosity as to whether you are credible or not, um, PR and publicity really does emphasize your credibility, it builds your reputation and helps people to trust you quicker. Um, and so I do think that you should have PR and publicity on your visibility strategy. It is social proof, um, and there's so many ways that you can use it, but do remember that PR is public relations and it's a great way of building no like and trust and relationships. Um, it's visibility for you and your business, and it's all about earned media, it goes beyond influencing and posts or an ad, it goes beyond social media, it does really bring that social proof and that credibility to the highest level because people still very much trust publications and the fact that you are a leader in your industry because you have been um published in a magazine or on a podcast, um, and people get really curious about that, and it creates this ripple effect that puts you and your visibility at the top of you know a very large pecking order and creates that thought leadership. So, I do think that you should be looking at how you can utilize PR opportunities, and remember that includes um magazine articles, it includes podcasts, it includes interviews, and there's several different PR things: earned media, owned media, paid media, and you and I could go into that in the visibility program coming soon or one-to-one if you want to get to grips with that sooner, um, because there are different things and each hold a different value before your visibility. Um, and then we move on to in-person networking, another great way to build connection, build relationships, and be more visible. Networking is inexpensive, it can be really low cost, it can, in fact, most of the time, a lot of the time, be free, and um, you get to grow your client base, your visibility, your connections, your relationships by being face-to-face online or off. And networking nowadays um can be in person, in the room, locally. Um, you can head to a new city, um, or you can go online. There's loads of online stuff, and Performapreneur does an online networking as well, um, irregularly. So, please do look out for that. And our matinee mixer, which is a fantastic way to network and take in a West End show in London in person. So there's loads of ways you can network with me, and I'm sure out there with other different businesses and clientele as well. So, think about that and look and wonder and work out with clarity, find out a clear vision of why you would go networking, um, who you want to network with and what you're going to say when you arrive. And that literally applies to your social media and your PR. All of these visibility opportunities need the why, the who, and the what. Um, and I would implore you to get to grips with that and get that clarity around it because it builds into the strategy really nicely when you know the who, the why, and the what of your understanding and your needs for visibility. The third piece of my puzzle is confidence, and we can be really confident in our um comfort zones, let's be honest, and so you might be very visible right now in one place, you might be really, really um doing so well on your social media on one platform, you might be a regular attendee at an in-person um networking event, and your confidence is allowing you to be there, do that, but you can become really comfortable in that space. So I want you to tap into your Shobas confidence and to remember and understand that there are two types of confidence um confidence and self-confidence, and start pushing yourself to be visible in new circles, in new spaces, on new platforms. Okay, so remember the difference between confidence and self-confidence because both of these help you to take action, but some will keep you comfortable, confidence, and others self-confidence will get you to push through because confidence comes from those past focus evidence-based moments. So if you're having huge success in something and you've done it time and time again, then you will be confident to stay there. But if it's something new that you've got no evidence of, you might feel a bit more nervous and less inclined to push into that new space for visibility. So I want you to tap into your self-confidence, which is future focused, and it's that natural, nurtured understanding that whatever happens, you'll be okay, you'll try your best and you will make it work, and you'll practice it and you'll perfect it, and you will find your niche within it, and you will you will shine. And that is what I want you to do when you are stuck in your comfort zone, when we're looking at building our confidence to step into new ways to be visible, and you have the techniques as performers to really utilize that you can then help you push through and overpower your brain. That is, by the way, programmed to protect you and keep you safe. So use your posture, use your breath, use your positive affirmations, your positive thoughts to make sure that you are building your confidence and self-confidence to move in to these new visible opportunities, visibility opportunities. So that is my first three C's, and I'm rushing through this, but as I say, there is a program coming soon, and I will be able to take you through that step by step. But hopefully, today in this episode, you're gonna take some little kind of light bulbs and go, yes, I absolutely understand what I need to do next. Um, and when you are doing these things, yeah, when you are trying new things, being visible, showing up, networking, social media, applying and pitching for PR, then just remember to not forget your CTA, your call to action. I see so many people being so successful with their visibility, but not telling the the audience, not telling the the warm lead or the client what they want them to do next. So use your visibility and make sure in your strategy you have a clear kind of alarm bell that rings that says, Don't forget your CTA, your call to action. Um, because that's absolutely imperative to make sure people know what you want them to do. Do you want them to like, do you want them to message, do you want them to DM, do you want them to reply? Do you want them to call, email? Um, do you want them to come and talk to you in person? You have to tell people what you want them to do. And the fourth C in my 5C visibility strategy kind of program is consistency. Like we all know that being visible and getting clients and building businesses or you know, shining a light on your performer skills takes consistency, it takes time, it takes effort. And I have built a wonderful unique formula that is as unique as you are. Um, it's the priority pyramid, the consistency circle, and the success star. So I'm gonna just talk you through that very quickly. Take some notes, visualize what I'm saying because this will really help for you to be more consistent with your visibility. The priority pyramid, yeah, it has as many kinds of sections as you choose, okay. And within those sections, I would love you to get to grips with what is prioritized and what is not, and that can be um platforms, it can be um events, it can be whatever that looks like for you and your visibility, but you're gonna build that priority pyramid so you can stick to it, okay? Because too many times we just do the easy thing to be consistent when actually there's other things that need a look in. So in the bottom of your pyramid, you put those things that if you have some extra time, if you can be bothered, um they get a little look-in, and there'll be quite a few down there because actually, what needs to happen is the priority needs to be one or two things at the top. The point, the point is the priority. These are the things that I consistently do every single day or two or three times a day to be visible. That's the point at the top. The very bottom layer is if I can be bothered, if I've got more time, if I find that you know I've I've got an opportunity to add to the consistency, add to the visibility, and then in the middle you can have one, two, three sections, um, which is the must-do. Yeah, the must-do once, or the must-do more than once, the must-do two, three times. Um, so those must-dos, those things that actually I'm gonna have to do that once a week, or I'm gonna have to do that twice a day. They layer up in the middle. So you've got your bottom if you can be bothered, your top, which is your point, is your priority, the thing that you do the most, um, and give it the most dedicated time, and then in the middle you've got your must-dos, middle must-dos, must-do once, must-do twice, must-do three times, whichever that looks like for you. Then we have our consistency circle. Yeah, it's got the pyramid now, I've got the circle. Think of the consistency circle that that never ends, okay? So it just a circle never ends. Um, and you can choose to move fast or slow around that consistency circle, but you're gonna place tasks around it that you just consistently do. You move from one to two to three to four to five to six, one, to three, three, four, and you keep going around and you keep doing that thing, and it becomes consistent, it feels monotonous, but it's gonna get you to where you want to be consistently. So I love that. And then the third thing that I've devised is the success star. So have a little think about the star on top of the pyramid or with stars around the circle or just stars on a on a sheet, and you can have as many stars as you want, but they're gonna help you to stay on track. These are your success markers, your success stars, and they will give you the information you need to notice whether what you're doing is working or what you're doing is not, um, by knowing what these success markers are when I reach X amount of followers, when I have so many DMs, when I convert this to this, like these are your success markers, and I want you to really understand that. So that's super exciting, and that is my number four C. And then finally, when it comes to visibility, I've got the fifth C, which is creativity. Like, you guys have no problem with being creative, and I want you to leverage your showbiz superpower, which is creativity. Like, please do not ignore everything that you have used and built and learned from all your years in the industry. Um, when it comes to being visible, use this creativity, it is your superpower. You can use it to share your um showbiz stories, you can use your choreography skills, your artistic eye, your musicality, you can lean into your acting and your your ability to public speak. You can tap into that design element of you and that creativity and just do things differently. You need to show up authentically and show these versions of you, the show girl, the the performer, the singer, the magician-like, show that and be authentic and use your showbiz qualities and your creativities to cut through the noise and be more visible and shine the light on your energy, like use your showbiz energy, your theatrical understanding to leverage your visibility in these in-person scenarios. Wear what you would feel most comfortable in. Don't try and fit in, don't don't be a sheep, be individual, use your creativity to shine a light on your authenticity, to shine a light on you. Show up as you online, in person, um, in the PR, tell your stories, dance to camera if that's what you want to do, be creative using reels and editing and design skills. There's so many things that your creativity can open you up for and shine a light on and make you stand out in this visibility kind of um crowded place online and off. So please do go back and um listen and learn and think about all of those things that you already have at your disposal and how you can use them to be more visible, to use them to get to grips with your visibility. And just as a little recap of those five C's in my five C visibility strategy, and let me just think about this. Sorry, I get them wrong. We have got connection. We all know that connection is key. Please do build relationships. You need to show up and connect and become part of somebody's journey, somebody's story. Connection is key. The next one is clarity, understanding where you want to be visible, why you want to be visible, and who you want to be visible to, and then using that information to build out that strategy of where, why, and who and when. Um, even go as deep as that. Where do you need to be, why do you need to be there, who's gonna see it, at what times, which in person, online, off all of that is about getting the clarity, and then once you've got that clarity, you will notice if you are showing up and being visible where you should be, or it, or indeed everywhere you should be, and then it's about building the third C your confidence to step out of your comfort zone and be seen, be visible. Visibility isn't vanity, to be visible in those new places as well as those old places, and the fourth C to do that consistently. Again, I've built those um that unique formula to help you to do that visually because I'm a visual learner, and I think having that pyramid, having that circle, and having those stars will really help you to understand how consistent you can be and to keep track of it as well and to keep accountable to your consistency. And the final C for visibility is number five creativity. You are a super power when it comes to creativity. You blow most entrepreneurs out of the water because you have this foundation in the showbiz industry that's gonna gift you so much that you not even realize when it comes to being visible, when it comes to stepping into new rooms to do. Doing new things, to showing up, to sharing your story. So please do tap in to your show bizativity. And then together, those five C's will skyrocket you into building your brand, which was our last solo episode. Um, personal brand will help you build your brand, will help you be visible and um show up and build your business successfully. So thank you for listening. I hope that there's some things that you can take away with there. And I look forward to coming back next session, um, next episode with one of my associates again to share their expertise.
