welcome everyone to today's show. A boomer and a 10xer walk into a bar, coming to you from the mobile rabbit hole studio that we are calling the rabbit run studio, where you, as a listener, will experience some wit and wisdom, some smart, smart assery and a mother-daughter questioning. Are we even related? My name is Bobbi Joy and my co-host is my mom, jane, and for the next 20 or 25 minutes we are here to entertain you here to entertain you.
Speaker 2Hey, Bobbi, I have some great news for you. Today we have and I just want to thank all of our listeners because they made this happen we have been picked up in five countries so far and 105 cities, and I am so excited.
Speaker 2I know I am so excited to say that and I just want to thank all of our listeners and our followers for hanging tough with us and for liking us and providing feedback and just you know, just for listening, and we hope that you get as much fun out of it as we do, because you know what we think. We crack ourselves up sometimes and other times we're like, uh, I don't really agree with her and I just want to argue with her.
Speaker 1But other times we're kind of like. Should we say that, yeah, I don't know, should we?
Speaker 2say it? I don't know. Anyway, I just wanted to share that and tell all of our listeners, thank you, thank you, thank you for that. Um, we we hope to increase that and please share the information with your friends and let them know what you've been listening to and have them listen in. We really appreciate it.
Speaker 1Bobby, absolutely.
Speaker 2So what's the day looking like today, bobby, I mean, did you? Have a good day. First of all, did you have a good day today?
Speaker 1day. First of all, did you have a good day today? You know it, we had something called a snow wall come through and drop about three to four inches of snow today. That's a snow wall, that's a little bit of flurries as far as I'm concerned I woke up to the alert and I'm like well, first of all, a snow wall, okay, and then I looked outside expecting to see, you know, some kind of apocalyptic snow happening.
Speaker 2It sounds like it and it's normal snow. Yeah, that's what it sounds like it should be. So I saw the house on the cameras. Everybody doesn't know this, but I have about eight cameras on my property, and so I was looking for snow after you mentioned something about it this morning and I thought, oh my gosh, it's really going to be bad and it's like. It's like a teeny, tiny dusting.
Speaker 1But hey, let's all get excited about it. And by this afternoon, you know, I didn't even need to shovel my sidewalk because it warmed up enough.
Speaker 2that sidewalk is shoveled Well that's cool, but what was the temperature there today, do you remember?
Speaker 1I think it was right around 30 to 35 degrees was the high now here's what'll blow your mind.
Speaker 2Now she's in iowa, I'm down in georgia. It was 26 here in georgia what you know.
Speaker 1That kind of makes me happy, happy that I'm I'm miserable in the cold, yeah.
Speaker 2So every morning I walk and I took the dogs out with me this morning and, I'm not kidding you, it froze my face.
Speaker 1So you know, I was used to that in iowa, but down here it's like what is going on so anyway, yeah, it's definitely different, because when I lived in texas I think, we got a light dusting of snow and it shut everything down for the whole day yeah, because they don't have snow removal equipment right no, why would they?
Speaker 2why would they invest in that? So, uh, hey, you know what I think our topic should be today. What's that? I've been thinking about this.
Speaker 2I've been thinking about this for a while, I know so I want to know if you had superpowers, what would they be? Now I'm gonna ask our listeners real quick though, to just come off of that with uh off the top of your head what if you had superpowers? What would they be? And I want you to think about that for just a second, because I know what my superpowers would be. But, bobby, I'm really interested in what your superpowers would be, because you're really quite a nerd and people don't know this, but you follow. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that. Is that okay to say oh yeah, I'm proud of it.
Speaker 2So you follow like comic stuff and you go to Comic-Con and you do all that business and I don't know anything about it, but anyway, I know they have superpowers. So, bobbi, what would your superpowers be if you had superpowers?
Speaker 1Okay, well, how many do I get?
Speaker 2Well, if you you can pick like the main thing, and then you can kind of say what goes along with that, as long as it doesn't come out of the realm of realism, you know. Like you can't say, well, I want to be invisible, but I also want to run fast.
Speaker 1No, hmm, what would it be I know what mine well I'm I'm kind of caught between two, okay, and they both have their pros and cons, but honestly, I think my top one would be invisibility.
Speaker 2Invisibility. Now I talked to a couple people about this today because I told them that's what our topic was going to be, and one other person picked that too. They were like yeah, then I could listen in to what other people say. Why would you pick invisibility? Now, I'm assuming some of our listeners probably said the same thing invisibility. So why would you have picked invisibility as your superpower?
Speaker 1Well, I mean, you kind of brought it up, I am a nerd and I've been one since I was little, um, and so it's. I think it's kind of a a nerd introvert thing where I would be able to just literally disappear and people leave me alone.
Speaker 2Is that all it boils down to?
Speaker 3Not all of it. Not all of it.
Speaker 2So what kind of power I mean? So you're invisible, and what do you think that that gains you?
Speaker 1Oh, the possibilities are endless. You know everything from I wouldn't have to worry about money to you know I could travel for free. Basically, they wouldn't know I'm there, you know to, yeah, you know finding out things, being able to get information, or even something as simple as my nerdy self. I'd be able to travel and go get in to see things like the Louvre and the Hadron Collider, and they wouldn't know I'm there. So I could do it. You know I could see it as long as I wanted.
Speaker 2So that's funny that you bring up the Hadron Collider, because we had said that if we won the lottery we would head there to see that we would both love to see that because I'm a little nerdy too, but she's, she's super nerd, I'm, I'm kind of just a normal nerd, but um, so you just think that it would get you in, you know, I, I, I mean, if you were invisible you could go to concerts with without ever paying, you could go to the Celine.
Speaker 1Dion concert without paying $1,700 a ticket or whatever the heck it is yeah, I mean I could travel, I could be on an airplane, nobody would know.
Speaker 2As long as the plane wasn't full.
Speaker 1Well, you know, I mean, I guess, of course, then they wouldn't find my body.
Speaker 2That'd be an uncomfortable ride for somebody. So you could go to all kinds of diplomatic affairs. Um, yeah, you know, you could go to all kinds of celebrations. You could go concerts. You could go to very, very private meetings. You could go where?
Speaker 1a bank, a bank.
Speaker 2Walk into a bank and be like, oh well, that's my money now well, yeah, but if you walk out with the money, the money's not invisible, you goofball well, do you think that they're really going to stop a briefcase of money floating away?
Speaker 1they're not going to know what to do.
Speaker 2Oh my goodness, that doesn't even make sense to me. Why would you need money anyway? I mean, well, I, I still got a mortgage, just because I'm invisible doesn't even make sense to me.
Speaker 1Why would you need money anyway? I mean, well, I, I still got a mortgage. Just because I'm invisible doesn't make it. Why would you need a?
Speaker 2mortgage. Go live in some mansion somewhere. No one would even know you're there why would it that is? True, wait a minute.
Speaker 3Why would it? Why would the money not be invisible?
Speaker 2because she's the only thing that's invisible so she's nude what are you?
Speaker 1well, are you nude there, bob well, I think that you know, if, if I okay, so if it was like a permanent invisibility power, like, okay, let's say you know you're invisible, but it has to be permanent, yeah, I think if I wore clothes I'd want the clothes to be seen, because that's how I could be seen by people. You know, kind of like on like hotel transylvania or something where you know you see the glasses floating or whatever, um, but you know, if I had the option of like whatever I touched became invisible, then you that that would be a different thing. It's too kind of. It's like it's like breaking off on two timelines in the comic world. You know you can either be invisible and naked or invisible, and everything that touches you is invisible as well.
Speaker 2It's kind of a Okay, well, you get to choose those powers. So you could choose invisibility with anything that you touch also. So what?
Speaker 1would it be? Oh yeah, I would definitely do the. Anything I touch would be invisible, oh my gosh, that's funny.
Speaker 2So that's your superpower, and what do you think? That would be my top one. So what do you think you could accomplish besides going places with that? What do you think? I mean really, what are you going to do with that information?
Speaker 1I mean, you know it depends on which way you want to take it. If you want to take it, you know, to be more of a superhero, end of it. You know you could do lots of things of it. You know you could do lots of things. You could, you know, infiltrate certain areas and literally remove weapons from bad guys you like the enemy.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, you know. You could, um, take drugs away. You could go and save someone who's kidnapped or being held for ransom. You could you know things like that? I didn't. Could you know things like that?
Speaker 2I didn't know one one naked, invisible person. That's a lot of work. Oh wait, you said you weren't going to be naked. You said that whatever you touch Okay. Yeah, could be Okay. All right, so that's what you're sticking with. Is that your final answer?
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, that's my top one, I mean, my second tier answer would probably be invincibility, like you know, not being able to be hurt, or things like that, like Deadpool, where he regrows his arm, or you know, Deadpool. Well, no, you wouldn't even need to regrow it because it wouldn't be able to be cut off oh, I see.
Speaker 2So no damage to you whatsoever.
Speaker 1That's interesting, that'll be my second, but along with that I kind of wouldn't want that, because I don't want to live forever right I don't, you know, I, I don't want to outlive my loved ones. I don't want, you know, be like a vampire, where I lived for 1200 years and you know, I guess, how long they live, cause I hadn't read that. Well, I mean, they could live forever technically, as long as they don't get a steak to the heart or eat a garlic bread, I guess.
Speaker 2Okay, All right. Well, you know Dr Domain's in the studio with us today. Should we ask him what his?
Underwater Superpowers and Shape-Shifting
Speaker 2superpower would be oh, first of all, I want you to think about that, dr domain, because I'm going to come back at you. So my superpower and I've thought about this before because I really want this, so I really really want this, like it's going to happen so my superpower would be that I would be able to live and breathe and see and, you know, just do everything that I want to do underwater Without drowning, so I could go to the sea and the depths of the sea. So here's.
Speaker 1What's interesting is how deep do you think the deepest part of the sea is? Well, I believe it's the Mariana Trench. Yeah, it is.
Speaker 2How'd you know that? How'd you know that? How'd you know that you nerd? Oh my gosh, I had to look it up part.
Speaker 1They believe they're not. They're not a hundred percent.
Speaker 2I believe the deepest part is over six thousand feet, uh, it is actually over seven miles, uh, and it is over 36 000 feet 30 35 000 feet like 35 823 feet, so that's like. That's like seven miles, and so I would want my superpower to be that, no matter what, I could breathe underwater, I can see underwater, I can function underwater, I can go to the depths of the sea, not be affected and see all the creatures, see everything that's underwater. I don't know about that one, why? Here's where I would be helpful.
Speaker 1Okay, let's hear that, and then I'll tell you why you're wrong.
Speaker 2If somebody says hey, my Aunt Minnie was driving home In 1963 and we think that she went into Lake Ontario, and Is there a Lake Ontario?
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2I don't know.
Speaker 1Anyway, I could go in there and see and breathe underwater and not be affected and help find people, or I could go down to the depths of the sea, where no man has ever gone, and see what kind of life is down there, and kind of help with that whole thing. Are you sure you want to do that though? Because, I mean, you know we've explored more of space than we have of the ocean, and that terrifies me. Are you kidding me? There could be a megalodon down there, like we don't know what's down there.
Speaker 2Oh my gosh, you know, what's funny is, when I was talking to dr domain about it today, he said there could be a megalodon down there.
Speaker 3Or a kraken.
Speaker 1Oh my gosh, or a kraken, or a kraken.
Speaker 2Yeah, and it's like, oh my gosh. First of all I had to ask him what those things were and you automatically knew what they were, you freaking nerd. But no, I would really want that, and one of the reasons I think why is because I do kind of have not really a fear. I love water. I'm a Pisces, so I love water and I have to have water, like I have a big pond on my property right tractors in it every once in a while, yeah, but I love.
Speaker 1I love that I'm a Pisces. Like you're not born with fins. You realize that doesn't matter.
Speaker 2No, but I'm a fish person and I love water. But I do have this thing about drowning, I think, because when I watch a movie where somebody goes underwater for any length of time, I start to panic. It's like I get this panic attack and I I have to start breathing heavy to make sure I'm still breathing. Otherwise I'm kind of holding my breath with them you would have that.
Speaker 1What I'm saying is you would have that, like same issue, if you saw somebody in space that you know was being suffocated because they didn't have oxygen right let me think about that for just a moment.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's probably true. That is probably true. However, you know, when it comes to fire, you know, most people who die in fires die from suffocation, from the smoke inhalation first. Right, right, yeah, that may be true. That may be true. I have to think about that one for a minute, thank you dr bob yeah okay, now I'm gonna go back, because that is that would really be my superpower.
Speaker 2Now remember, though, that I can see clear down there in the water, right, I can swim, I can breathe, I can. I'm not going to get eaten or anything like that, because that's my superpower. I'm already protected and all that business.
Speaker 1So that's okay. I thought you were saying you were being protected from like the crushing of well, yeah, I mean not from being freaking.
Speaker 2Eaten well I, I would be protected from being eaten too. Hey, I said you could do whatever you wanted with your superpowers, okay, so that's all rolled up into mine. So, yeah, I'm all safe down in there. But it would be so cool, wouldn't that be cool, to just see what's down there, and I just think it would be.
Speaker 1I think it would be cool, but at the same time, there ain't no way in hell you could get me down there, because that's terrifying I.
Speaker 2I don't want to know what's down there I there's a reason that it doesn't come to the surface so if you look at how our uh, the depth of the sea is measured, you know some of them looked at like the um, you know, the tallest building in the world, and then they looked at uh, what is? Uh? I'm at a loss for words right now what?
Speaker 1the mariana trenches? Yeah?
Speaker 2so they were kind of measuring and so they kind of listed some different things that you know football fields and you know the eiffel tower and because in america we measure by anything except for the metric system. That's right that's right anyway it's probably those things are minute in comparison to the depth of the sea. Yeah, anyway, it's just way cool. But I want to know maybe you want to know too, bobby what Dr Domains would be. What is it, doc?
Speaker 1I have an idea, but I want to hear what he has to say.
Speaker 3Okay, I would like the superpower to change my ethnicity. What?
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 3I could go into all the best restaurants and they'd think I'm local and they'd serve me the secret menu and I could be a spy.
Speaker 1What.
Speaker 3Yeah, you could do all kinds of things Okay so he wants to be.
Speaker 1So he basically wants to be like a flesh pedestrian, so where he can like, change his appearance at any given time.
Speaker 2So, anytime you want to be, you could be Mexican, or you could be Chinese, or you could be African American, or you could be. Indian, or you could be.
Speaker 3I could walk the streets of New York, you know, without any issue, depending on where I was.
Speaker 2Do you think ethnicity has something to? Do with being attacked in New York. Because I think they all got it going on that anybody can be attacked.
Speaker 3No, I think you're less likely though.
Speaker 2Really yeah.
Speaker 3And if you go to a restaurant In a restaurant.
Speaker 2Well, I'm saying, and in a restaurant.
Speaker 3You're not gonna restaurant, you're not. Well, I'm saying and in a restaurant you're, you're gonna get the top shelf stuff you're not gonna be like, oh yeah you're not getting. Yeah, they'll just give you like oh, that stupid american, he's getting an order of you know french fries french fries and greasy hamburger okay, so, okay.
Speaker 1So your boyfriend wants to be a skinwalker and, uh, you want to go to the ocean.
Speaker 3What is that? A skinwalker? What is a skinwalker? Or something, or what?
Speaker 1a pedestrian. You know where they can like, so um some peddling tradition and a lot of other traditions. They are animals who shape, shift oh yeah, that's right that's where the werewolf legend came from was from skinwalkers there you go see.
Speaker 2Only a nerd would know that only a nerd yeah because I I would have never known that. You knew that too, because you're a I could change my ethnicity to anything you could even be a werewolf.
Speaker 3I could be invisible.
Speaker 1That's not an ethnicity.
Speaker 3Or a mermaid, which is what you'd want. What, yeah, I could be a merman, he's a merman I could be a merman.
Speaker 1Except it's opposite to where the top half is a fish and the bottom half is a man.
Speaker 3where the top half is a fish and the bottom half is a man.
Speaker 2Oh, my God.
Speaker 1Oh, my God, I think he's very confused.
Speaker 2Either that or he's on crack or something. I don't really know what's going on. Do you think that you go from ethnicity?
Speaker 3I can't't pronounce it.
Speaker 2Okay, well, I guess he's schooling me.
Speaker 1He wants to be able to change his appearance is what he wants to be able to do.
Speaker 3Well, it's not just that, but my accent and everything, because I wouldn to be able to do well, it's not just that, but my accent and everything, because I wouldn't be able to pull it off walking and shining down with this accent, so you'd be able to speak the language then too well, yeah, or at least have the accent okay, I can do a lot of different accents no, please don't
Speaker 1oh god, don't please don't no, I can.
Speaker 2I can really Seriously.
Speaker 3No, this is a legitimate superpower. This isn't something fake like what you're trying to do.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1So what do you think the worst superpower to have would be?
Speaker 2Oh, the worst superpower.
Speaker 1I have my answer. You want to hear what my answer is?
Speaker 3Yeah, Breaking even on lottery scratch tickets.
Speaker 2That would be terrible.
Speaker 1Well, yeah, I would hate that, but I do that anyway. I think that the worst superpower that I would never want is to be able to read people's minds.
Speaker 2that I would never want is to be able to read people's minds. Oh hey, she's onto something there. I wouldn't want to read their minds either.
Speaker 1There is no way you couldn't pay me enough money in the world to be able to read people's minds.
Speaker 2Yeah, I wouldn't want to do that either.
Speaker 1Oh no, absolutely not.
Speaker 2I don't like reading my own thoughts. I don't like what's going on in my own head, let alone what's going on in somebody else's. No, I would agree with you there. I would say the worst one for me would be to live forever. You know, like if you had a superpower where you lived forever. I don't want to do that. I don't want anything to do with that business. But wow, yeah, I don't want to hear anybody else's thoughts at all. I don't even want to hear my own most of the time what would be your worst superpower?
Speaker 3doc oh bobby, what's your superpower, with or without clothes? What was that?
Speaker 1I I picked with clothes I picked anything that I would hold or touch would become invisible.
Speaker 3Okay so if you put something on, it would become invisible.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 3I was thinking, if that wasn't the case, I wouldn't want to be invisible, like somewhere in the Arctic or something.
Speaker 2Oh, Because you wouldn't really be able to pull it off right. You know, I never thought about that you could, but you'd just freeze. Yeah, yeah, that's a good point. Yeah, that's a good point, that's a good point.
Speaker 1But I mean, or you could just put clothes on, I mean it and walk around with just a parka.
Speaker 2Just because, yeah, there's a parka walking down the street with a big old hairy hat on them, coon skin cap or something I don't know. I don't know. Well, I think we probably bled that one dry. But I hope that everybody else asks themselves that same question what superpower? And go home and ask your significant other, your spouse or whoever what their superpower would be. I think you'd be shocked at what it would be. But anyway, just something to think about, and with that I think we're done for the day. Bobby, again, I do want to thank everybody for tuning in and going to our facebook page and giving us comments. So, listen, if you have any topics that you would like us to talk about and we are getting some topics and we are getting feedback from people and we really appreciate that Send us, drop us a note and let us know.
