In this episode, United Water Conservation District General Manager Mauricio Guardado joins hosts Brittnie Gildea and Joe Yersky to discuss efficient water infrastructure development strategies, including aligning project components, prioritizing sustainability, and fostering collaboration. The panel also explored the importance of outreach and engagement for project success and discussed challenges and strategies for securing funding. Guardado also offered insights into the United Water Conservation District’s Extraction Barrier Brackish Water Treatment Project, which addresses seawater intrusion in coastal areas by extracting contaminated water from the plume and treating it for use as a freshwater source.
