Discerning The Spirit of Leviathan

In this powerful episode, Codie dives into the spiritual reality of Leviathan — a twisting, constricting spirit that seeks to suffocate truth, divide relationships, pervert communication, and steal God-given victory from believers. Drawing from Isaiah 27:1, we’re reminded that Leviathan is a serpent only the Lord Himself deals with:
“In that day the LORD… will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent… and He will slay the dragon that is in the sea.”
This is not a spirit we wrestle in our own strength — it’s a battle the Lord takes personally.
We also look at John 10:10, exposing Leviathan within the broader strategy of the enemy — to steal, kill, and destroy through distortion, accusation, and division. But Jesus promises life and victory to those who remain in alignment with Him.
Through Psalm 74:14, we see God’s dominion:
“You crushed the heads of Leviathan…”
showing that this ancient serpent has already been defeated in the realm of God’s authority.
Finally, in Job 41, God reveals Leviathan’s nature — untamable, proud, deceptive, and resistant to correction — giving us spiritual language to recognize how this spirit operates in households, ministries, and leaders today.
