Does forgiveness mean someone should always have access to your life?

In this episode of The Warrior Bun Podcast, Codie Cobb unpacks a biblical truth that has brought freedom to countless believers: forgiveness restores love—but it does not automatically restore access.

Using John 2:24–25 as the foundation, you’ll discover how Jesus perfectly loved everyone while exercising wise boundaries. Through examples from the lives of Jesus, Moses, Joshua, Aaron, Elijah, Elisha, Paul, Timothy, and the pattern of the Tabernacle, this teaching reveals that Scripture consistently models circles of influence, not equal levels of access for every relationship.

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • Why forgiveness and trust are not the same thing.
  • How to establish healthy, biblical boundaries without operating in offense.
  • Why Jesus entrusted different people with different levels of intimacy and responsibility.
  • How to discern who belongs in each circle of your life.
  • The difference between walls of fear and gates of discernment.
  • Why wisdom—not guilt—should determine access.
  • How pride can hinder spiritual wisdom and accurate discernment.
  • A practical exercise to prayerfully identify your own circles of influence.

If you’ve ever struggled with feeling guilty for setting boundaries, this episode will help you discover that biblical boundaries are not rejection—they are stewardship. Jesus loved the crowds, but He did not give everyone the same level of access. We shouldn’t either.

“Forgiveness restores love. Wisdom determines access.”

Hey guys, all right. Today is Wednesday, and the Warrior Bun podcast is back. I'm super excited for today's recording because I have seen so many people that are really struggling with this thought of um boundaries, uh biblical boundaries. And I think we have this idea that everybody has to have access, and if they don't, then we have some type of unforgiveness in our heart towards that person. And so I really just want to demolish that um lie of the enemy that maybe you've been taught. Um, you know, maybe maybe you've just um grown up thinking that forgiveness means access. And I just want to bring some clarity to that. Um, we have uh released a new book called The Healing Journey. This is a book that is very special. I don't even want to call it a book. I don't, to be honest, I don't even know what to call it. All I know is it is from the Holy Ghost. Um, I just simply had somebody reach out, ask me for help. I ended up taking them through a process. As I took them through a process of healing and deliverance, I wrote down everything. I kept up with everything that God gave me. And then one day God was like, Write your book. And I was like, What book? And he was like, The book you just wrote. And I didn't even realize, but all that time he was just telling me, Hey, keep this in your notes. Hey, put this next, hey, do this, hey, do that, and um, tell them this and tell them that and walk through them with this part and that part. And I didn't even realize that he was building anything um until he said, uh, hey, yeah, I already gave it to you. Can you just like make it into a book now? So that is literally how our book was birthed. Um, he was doing it. I love what um, you know, Miracle Worker, the song it talks about. He's working even when we don't know it, and that's truly the testimony of this book. So with our topic today, forgiveness does not mean access. I want to take you um to a page in our book on page 14, and this is um, I believe it's actually the second day of the book, it is a devotional, yet it's inner healing, deliverance. Um, it incorporates practical steps on how to actually go through um inner healing and deliverance with the Lord in your own personal time. It has questions for you to reflect on at the end of each um, I want to say at the end of each devotion. Um, technically it's through the book of John, so it's a 21-day devotion. However, there are many times throughout the book that I say, hey, I want you to do this practical project and take, you know, seven days to do it. So it might take you longer than 21 days because there are practical projects where I specifically ask you, hey, for the next seven days, I want you to sit with the Lord and go through unforgiveness, go through building up your identity in Christ through different scriptures. Um, like that project where we do the identity project, you know, that's a 12-day project. So I don't want to be like, oh, you can do the whole thing in 21 days, because technically I don't think you can. I think that would be rushing it. And the Holy Spirit um is he's not in a hurry, he's not in a rush. Um, he knows exactly what you're going through, and he'll actually take you on his journey and his timing. And when you're ready, he will take you to the next page. And when you're ready, he'll take you to the next project. And then even at the end, um, you know, we have some people really receive deliverance and healing through writing. And so we have pages for you to be able to journal. We have pages for you to draw. Some people go through inner healing and and deliverance through drawing, um, and just expressing what's in their um in their mind or in their heart. So with that being said, if you do not have this book, guys, get this book. It is um on Amazon. You can look it up the healing journey. You can type in uh my name, Cody Cobb. It's with the C O D I E. Or you can type in um Abigail Um Potato, I think that's how you say her name. I always struggle with that, but um petado, petado. That's it. Thank you, Lord. So get the book, first of all, because it is something that you can really grow in your relationship with Jesus, just you and him. So in this book on page 14, I'm just gonna literally read the book to you, and then I'll go into deeper depth on the actual teaching and explain it in depth. Okay. The scripture we're going to be highlighting is John 2, 24 and 25. It says, But Jesus didn't trust them because he knew all about people, no one needed to tell him about human nature, for he knew what was in each person's heart. It's very important that when we are discerning people, we need to ask the Lord because we need to really be discerning their heart posture. And that it says that God judges the heart. So we really need to go to God as the righteous judge and ask them, ask him to expose them and their heart posture. Okay. Exposure isn't always bad. Maybe he wants to expose something good about them, but on the outside it looks bad. There's been many people that look negative on the outside, yet when I sought the Lord on behalf of what their heart posture was, it was very genuine and very good. They just simply needed some more crucifixion in their flesh, uh, maybe in their tongue, you know, different things like that. So we want to know what is their actual heart posture. And it says that Jesus knew what was in each person's heart. So if we want to know who we can trust, we really need to build our relationship with Jesus and hearing his voice and being led and guided by the Holy Spirit. Because if we don't go through Christ to even understand who is good and who is not, then we will more than likely misjudge or misdiscern or misinterpret from a fleshly view. So obviously, the ultimate took goal is to learn how to have a relationship with Jesus so that you can properly discern and properly put people in the right circles of influence in your life, and that's what we're going to talk about today. So on page 14, I'm just going to read this to you, okay? As we walk through healing, it's easy to believe that if we build walls around our hearts, we are failing to love people. But scripture shows us that even Jesus set boundaries. He loved the crowds deeply, yet he didn't entrust himself to them. Why? Because he knew their hearts. We often confuse love with trust. Love is unconditional, it's what God calls us to give freely. Trust, however, is something different. Trust is earned, trust is guarded, and it's not wise to place it in everyone. Sometimes the walls, print uh quote unquote, you've built aren't meant to keep love out, but to keep your heart protected until healing and discernment show you who is safe to let in. Proverbs 423 reminds us: guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. So instead of tearing down every wall in guilt, let the Holy Spirit help you rebuild healthy boundaries, ones that protect without imprisoning. Jesus Himself had layers of access. He ministered to the crowds, he walked closely with twelve, but only three knew his deepest moments: Peter, James, and John. Not everyone gets the same level of access. That's wisdom, not rejection. It says uh here, truth to hold. Loving everyone doesn't mean trusting everyone. Boundaries are not rejection, they're protection. Healing allows you to replace walls of fear and gates of discernment. I want you to think about um Jesus is the great shepherd, right? And so think about a shepherd and him just protecting the flock. The shepherds didn't have no walls. Um, they actually had a wall that was called the sheepfold, and it was about waist high, so that the shepherd could see over the wall for predators and protect the sheep, but the sheep actually had their head down and they were focused on the shepherd or on what they were eating and feeding on. Okay, they trusted the shepherd to watch out for them. So it's not that we we don't need to tear down every wall in our heart. You know, I've had ministers um tell people that I that I walk through um healing and deliverance, they're like, Well, that minister told me that I had walls around my heart, and I'm like, okay, so what? Um, I can understand like walls around your heart where you're you have unforgiveness and you know you have pride and all those things. And even God says, you know, I'm gonna take your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. But the thing is, is it's okay to have waste high walls around your heart so that you can observe, so that you can discern, and so that you can wait upon the Lord and not just let everybody in. Okay. Um, even family. Like, I know some people just I constantly see people who need inner healing and deliverance, and it's like they have this mindset of everybody, they need to just love everybody and give, and love means giving everybody access. That is not that that's not wisdom. You can love everybody. I love people who hurt me, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna keep letting them stab me in the back over and over again. That's called manipulation, and so the Bible clearly says that we're not to partner with the spirit of manipulation. So if somebody is manipulating you and they continually, you know, hurt you and then they apologize, and then they hurt you, and then they apologize, and you begin to see the pattern remove their access. That is what it means when it says you should guard your heart. Okay, so I want to um look at some of my notes, and I want to go through this and break this down for you a little bit deeper. Okay, God loves all people equally, but he does not entrust everyone with the same level of access, not even God does that, he doesn't trust um everyone with the same level of access, responsibility, or intimacy. Access is determined by assignment, maturity, faithfulness, and purpose, not by someone's value. Okay, this is very different from favoritism. A lot of people think, oh, well, God just, you know, everybody's the same, everybody gets the same portion. No, they actually don't because we're about to go through it and I'm about to show you where even God had boundaries, even God gave access to certain people and and he didn't give access to other people. That doesn't mean that they had different values, it means that he trusted them on different levels, it doesn't mean that one is greater than the other, it just means one's one is further to the um heart of God than someone else. Maybe they're at a different stage in their journey, okay? But it doesn't mean that he doesn't value them as a son and a daughter any more, any less. Many of you who have children, um, you know, if you have a 20-year-old child and then you have a 10-year-old child, you're gonna trust your 20-year-old child with things that you're not gonna trust your 10-year-old child with. Does that mean that you love either child any more, any less than the other? No, it just means that they're at a different level of maturity, and so the 20-year-old can have more access or responsibility than the other 10-year-old. Okay, does that make sense? So I want to go through um several biblical examples that you can build, okay, this off of that you can um build this understanding off of in your mind. So think about Jesus, okay? Jesus had multiple circles. This is probably the clearest example. He had the crowds, right? Thousands heard him preach. Matthew 5 through 7. The Sermon on the Mount was preached publicly. They received teaching, but not personal access to Jesus. Okay. The 72 in Luke 10:1, Jesus entrusted them with ministry authority. They had more access than the crowds. So here you got the crowds. Then you have 72 who he actually gave ministry authority to. Okay, that's two different levels of access. Then he had the 12, the 12 disciples, Mark 3, 13 through 19. The disciples lived with Jesus, they heard explanations others never heard. Okay, Jesus took them to different levels of understanding what he was saying. He didn't go back out and tell the crowds everything that he told the 12 disciples. Why? Because that's a different level of access. Mark 4, 10 through 11, it says, To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God. But for those outside, everything is in parables. So he doesn't even give the fullness of the understanding to everybody. Some people he he purposely does that. Um, notice there were those outside. Mark 4, 10 through 11, what I just read, it says, but for those outside, he's telling you that's a different level of access, that's a different circle. Okay, Jesus Himself established an inner circle, and there's different inner circles. There's different, like if you could just imagine like a small circle and then a little bit bigger circle and then a bigger circle and then a bigger circle. If you could imagine that in your mind, you need to make the I would encourage you to get a piece of paper today and draw an inner circle and then draw a circle outside of that, and then another one outside of that, maybe five circles total, okay? And you need to write down the people that are in that inner circle. Who do I actually trust? Okay, and we're gonna go through Jesus' life and show you how many people should actually be in those circles, and then you go to the next circle and you and I will we'll walk through that, okay? That's I want you to do that today after you um listen to the full the rest of this podcast. Jesus himself established circles of influence, all right. So after the crowd, he had the 72, then he had the 12, then he had an even smaller circle than that, which was Peter, James, and John. These three repeatedly experienced moments the others did not. So even within the 12 apostles, the 12 disciples that Jesus discipled on a personal level, he had an even more inner circle than that, Peter, James, and John, right? In Mark 5, 37, Jairus's daughter, remember, he only let the three go there. The Mount of Transfiguration in Matthew 17 1, he only let Peter, James, and John go. And then even in Gethsemane, when he was praying to the Father and about to be crucified, Matthew 26, 37, he only took Peter, James, and John. Those were very intimate moments. He did not let all 12 experience that. Not being invited doesn't mean you're being rejected. Not being in someone's inner circle doesn't mean you're rejected. Okay? And don't get mad when somebody doesn't put you in their inner circle. You have to build your trust with that person. You know, they have to trust you. Don't get mad at somebody because they don't trust you after two or three weeks of being their friend. Um this makes me think of my daughter, you know. I'm trying to teach this to her because, you know, she's young and she's in school, and you know, there's just a lot of drama, a lot of gossip, and a lot of things that go on, you know, in the girl area. She's, you know, in public school. So it's just, I'm trying to teach her this, and it's so funny because I was teaching her about circles, and I was like, you know, baby, you gotta just help people to understand that, you know, or you have to understand that they're different circles, you know. Not everybody can be your best friend, everybody can be your friend, but you don't have to let everybody be your best friend, you know. And it's so funny because she had some girls that just started being her friend, and and she was like, Well, you're not my best friend, um, but but you're just my friend, and they were like, Why? And she was like, Well, because we just became friends, and they were like, Oh, okay, but it's so funny, and I was like, baby, no, you're not supposed to tell people that, like, you just make sure you you um, but I love it because she's very black or white, and she's just gonna tell you the truth and tell you like it is, and um, yeah, if you ever meet her on a on a face-to-face level, you might get offended if I'm being honest, um, because she's just gonna tell you like it is, and I was like, no, baby, you don't have to tell them that. You just personally don't put them at that level of trust yet. Uh, it was really funny. Um, so, anyways, let's keep going. Okay, so Jesus had Peter, James, and John, and then guys, oh my goodness. Okay, so he literally had the crowd, then he had the 72, then he had these are different circles. Crowds one, 72, 2, then he had the 12, that's the third circle. Then he had the three, Peter, James, and John, that's the fourth circle, and then he had John. It's funny I said five circles because I wasn't even I didn't even realize that I had five exact circles in this teaching. But then even within the three, he had one more person that he trusted more, and that was John. Literally, in the book of John, he the John is described as the disciple whom Jesus loved. In John 13, 23, at the Last Supper, it says that John reclined against Jesus. This tells you the proximity of his relationship with Jesus. Okay, he was so close to Jesus that he could lay his head on his chest and hear his heartbeat. That is the goal of your relationship with Jesus. You should be so close to Jesus that you can actually hear and know the heartbeat of his heart for ministry. That is literally the goal. That's in John 13, 23. In John 19, 26 through 27, Jesus entrusted Mary to John at the cross. He literally entrusted his mother to John. John had access that no one else had. That's a different level. That's covenant. That's a whole nother teaching, but on the different, um, the different levels, but John had access to Jesus that nobody else had. Okay, that's literally just about Jesus. Let's go into a few other people. Moses had circles. Moses did not take everyone everywhere. Israel stayed at the foot of Sinai. The seventy elders in Exodus 24 1 invited further. He invited them further. And then he had others, like Aaron, who were allowed even closer. And then Moses alone. In Exodus 24, 2, it says, Moses alone shall come near the Lord. That alone dismantles the idea that everyone receives identical access. God himself established boundaries. Let's look at Joshua. Joshua wasn't included in everything. Joshua Joshua accompanied Moses partway. In Exodus 24, 13, it says, yet when Moses entered the cloud, Joshua stayed outside. Later Joshua became Moses' successor. That was a different season, different access. So you can change just because you're in, say, the fifth circle access, that doesn't mean that one day that person might not come into the third circle of access in your life. Okay. You can rearrange and realign people in different circles of access and influence in your life, depending on the season. Joshua at first he was outside. But then he later, he it says that when Moses would leave the tent, Joshua would stay. He would linger in the presence of God after Moses had been with God. So Joshua paid the price to have that level of access after Moses. Okay, he didn't just automatically get it because Moses was gone now. No, Joshua desired that level of access. He lingered in the presence because he wanted to be close to Jesus. He wanted to be close to the presence of God. Okay, so that's a different season, different access. His access to God changed later. So I want to encourage you with that that you can have people say in your second circle. We're gonna do one through five, okay, here. Say somebody is in your second circle, and you put them there, you trusted them there, but now all of a sudden you're like something is off, something's not right. Um, I don't really trust them as much as I did before. It's okay to move that person to the third, fourth, fifth circle for a season, okay? That's called protecting your heart. It's okay to do that, it's not prideful. It's okay to just say, hey, you know what? We've had some instances, we've had some disagreements, we've had some things, and and now, you know, you have to make sure, let's not be prideful and be like, oh, well, you went against me, so I'm gonna push you to the fifth circle. You know, make sure you're obviously observing your heart, you know, as well, and that you're not just pushing people out because that's a whole nother teaching. Um, and you need healing and deliverance if you continue to push people away. But I will tell you, your first and second circle is not gonna have many people in it, and that's wisdom. All right, let's talk about Aaron. Aaron wasn't given every revelation, Aaron was the high priest, yet God often spoke privately with Moses. Numbers 12, 6 through 8. And you know it's funny? Aaron actually was the older brother of Moses, yet God spoke privately with Moses and not Aaron. Aaron was literally the high priest, yet he didn't get the same access as Moses. Numbers 12, 6 through 8, God says, With him I speak mouth to mouth. That really hit me when I was uh going over this with the Lord, and I thought, wow, mouth to mouth. And I thought about like, you know, CPR and how you really have to get close in proximity to mouth to mouth someone. And I just thought, wow. And then I thought about like obviously intimacy and you know, say like you kiss your husband or your wife, that's a different access. That's um, that's a different level of intimacy when it's mouth to mouth. You know, you can kiss somebody on the cheek, you can kiss somebody on the forehead, you know. Um, back in the day they would kiss on the hand as a uh symbol of honor, but mouth to mouth, that's a different level of intimacy, and God says in Numbers 12, 6 through 8, with Moses, I speak mouth to mouth. That tells you the proximity of their relationship and their intimacy. It was that close. Literally, when you do CPR, you're literally mouth to mouth breathing your breath into their lungs, like your breath becomes their breath. Come on, that is intimacy on a whole nother level with God. That's when you begin to speak the very things that are on the heart of God, because now you're literally mouth to mouth with God, yet your heart and your ear is so um close to the heart of Jesus that you're laying your head on his chest like John was. And so now everything you hear from having your head on the chest of Jesus through your relationship with him and your um the time that you spend with him and the time that you spend in the word and the time that you saturate in the presence and the glory on a one-on-one basis, you begin to hear the heart of God through having your head on the chest of Jesus, like John did. And then when you speak, when you preach the gospel, when you um teach the word of God, when you um, you know, the prophets who release the word of God, you should now be so close through your hearing by having your head on the chest of Jesus that when you speak, it's just as Moses and God in Numbers 12, 6 through 8, where it says, I speak mouth to mouth. You literally are the very mouth of God speaking on his behalf, and that is the relationship that Moses had. Aaron wasn't less loved by God, he simply had a different relationship and assignment. Okay, even if you um, I'm not sure if my notes go into this later, but um, even if you think about um in the word it talks about when Aaron and Miriam they begin to test and they begin to get jealous of how close of a relationship Moses had with God. And they are like, Why do you only speak to him? Why can't you speak to us? Like, why is he so special? And um, God rebuked them, and it was very um the judgment of God came on them, and it was not a good thing. So don't look at people who speak like that um and are that close to Jesus, don't look at them as um in a jealousy way, because I promise you they've paid the price to have that relationship with God, and you can pay the price too. Um, it's not withheld from anybody, it is just simply um, are you willing? I love it when Jesus says, you know, follow me, but he says, but also count the cost, count the cost, and so those people who speak uh in a way of being mouth to mouth with God and having their ear on the heart of Jesus on his chest, they've paid a price for that, I promise you, for that relationship. Um, even the tabernacle in the Bible teaches circles. This literally may be the greatest picture of circles and different levels of influence. Everyone in Israel was part of God's covenant, but access differed. There was an outer court, there was the holy place, and then there was the holy of holies. Only the high priest entered the holy of holies. Same covenant, different access. And I know some people will be like, oh, that's old testament. No, actually, this temple was built um as a replica of what is in heaven already. So um, heaven has not gone away, it's still there, and it is now in our hearts because he says, I will write on their hearts. So in the old testament, it was a natural, external um temple, tabernacle, but now this temple is in our hearts, okay? So in your heart, you should have an outer court circle, a holy place circle, and then you should have the holy of holies. Okay, the holy of holies is where you and God are only, you and the holy spirit that is inside of you, and then you have the holy place, those are different people, they have different access to that part of your heart, okay? There's very few, I would say no more than five. That's a lot, actually. And then you have an outer court, okay? So I want you to see your heart. Um, if you've never studied the tabernacle um in the old testament or seen a picture of it, I would encourage you to look up a picture on Google or whatever you use and um look at the different levels of that, and that is a picture of how your heart needs to be. Okay. Elijah, when Elijah was discouraged, God didn't reveal himself to the nation, he revealed himself personally to Elijah. That's in 1 Kings 19. Private encounters aren't unfair, they're relational. Okay, so all these people that are like, oh, I've been to heaven, I've been to hell, I've been to, I've seen Jesus, you know, all that stuff. That's because it's not that God wanted to reveal himself to them and not you. It's just they have a different, they they just they have a different relationship with Jesus, and you can have it too. It's not withheld from anybody, it's just there is a price that you have to pay. Elisha, the sons of the prophets existed, yet Elisha stayed close. Second Kings 2. Repeatedly, Elijah said, Stay here. Elisha refused. His persistence positioned him for the double portion. Proximity mattered. Okay, that's why I'm saying it's available to everyone. Elijah told Elisha, stay here. He said, You can't come any further. And Elisha said, No, I'm willing to pay the price for the double portion. He said, I'm willing. Whatever you have to go through, I want to go through too because I want to have that kind of anointing on my life. I want to have the double portion. So Elisha decided to leave the plow. He decided to not go back to his family. Okay, that's what he chose. He counted the cost and he was willing to pay it. Some people count the cost and they start paying it, and then they decide I don't want to pay this anymore. Um, some people, guys, you got to be more persistent because I promise you, the devil is gonna do all that he can to make sure that you don't go all the way into full surrender and uh fully following Jesus. But you have to be more persistent than the devil, and he will make sure, and God will actually use him to challenge you to see how bad you want it. Paul. Paul had different circles. Romans 16 lists many friends, yet Timothy receives unique language in Philippians 2.20. I have no one like him. Paul loved many, but he entrusted Timothy on a different level. Let's look at Timothy. Paul calls him my true son in the faith. That's in 1 Timothy 1.2. Many believers existed, but only one became a spiritual son. That's a whole nother topic, but I'll say this. If you have a spiritual parent or ministry or mentor or whoever that has hundreds of spiritual sons and daughters, I would I would red flag that and take it to the Lord because if we look at Paul's life, Timothy had a different kind of access than all the others. Okay, the circle is very small, and only a few fit in it at that level of access. Let's look at Jesus after the resurrection. Jesus appeared to many, yet he had private conversations in John 20, Mary Magdalene, John twenty-one with Peter, and then in Luke twenty-four, the Eumaeus disciples. Not everyone received the same conversation. Even God himself models boundaries. One of the strongest things I want you to get in your spirit today, forgiveness does not mean access. I'm gonna say that again. Forgiveness does not mean access. God forgives completely, yet he doesn't entrust everyone with the same assignment. Israel was forgiven many times, yet an entire generation still died in the wilderness because trust and responsibility are not identical. That's Numbers 14. Forgiveness restored relationship, it did not erase every consequence or immediately restore every privilege. David was forgiven after his sin with Bathsheba. That's in 2 Samuel 12 and Psalm 51. Yet the consequences remained. God's forgiveness was real, but restored fellowship did not mean everything returned to exactly as it had. This is where many believers become confused. Forgiveness restores love, wisdom determines access. Guys, we've got to pray specifically for wisdom. And I will tell you, if you read the seven abominations of God, and you take those seven abominations, and you take the seven spirits of God. Okay, just Google it. I'm not sure of the exact um scripture. I know the I believe the abominations are in Proverbs maybe six. Um, don't quote me on that, and then the abomination, I meant the seven spirits of God is maybe um as Isaiah 11. I'm not sure, just Google it. Just Google and ask where are okay, Proverbs 6, 16 through 19. Okay, those are the seven abominations of God. Maybe the Holy Spirit will help me out here. Uh, real quick, Isaiah, I think it's maybe 11. Isaiah 11. Uh yes, okay, Isaiah 11, right? Um two through three, two and three. Isaiah 11, two through three. Okay, those are the seven spirits of God. If you take the seven spirits in the exact order that they are in scripture, and you take the seven abominations of God, and you put them, uh, say you write down the seven spirits of God, and then on the right column you write down right across from each other the seven abominations of God, you will see which abomination counteracts which spirit of the Holy Spirit. There are seven. Okay, so wisdom determines access. Well, wisdom, if you have your two columns, the seven spirits of God and the seven abominations of God, the first column and the second column, the first one is the spirit of wisdom for the seven spirits of God. And on the seven abominations of God, the first one is haughty eyes. So if you're not, if you don't have wisdom in your life, and this is godly wisdom, okay, that's different than the natural wisdom of man. Two totally different things. A lot of people are like, Oh, I have wisdom and all this stuff, and I'm like, Yeah, but it's it's natural logical wisdom, it's not spiritual wisdom because spiritual wisdom shifts atmospheres, spiritual wisdom breaks chains and sets people free. And you see, people when you tell them something, their eyes are like opened and they're like they like go into this like ah, like this, this like this like veil tears, and they come to this place of like, oh wow, I never thought about that before. That is how spiritual wisdom, the fruit of spiritual wisdom acts. It's very outside of what you were thinking, outside of what you understood, and outside of time. And it's it's it, I mean, literally, it says that the spirit of wisdom was with God when he created. Um, I believe I believe it's Proverbs 1 or 2. Yeah, it's it's uh Proverbs 2, the value of wisdom. It literally says that she was she was there with God when he created the world. That means it's outside of time, it's outside of natural, um, the natural realm, it's outside of um logic. Okay, if you're like, oh yeah, yeah, I knew that. It wasn't wisdom. Because even somebody who's mature in Christ, like when the spirit of wisdom encounters you, you go, wow, I never thought about that before. Like, why didn't I see that in the you know, you read the same scriptures and you're like, I've read this 50 times, but I never saw that. Yeah, that's because the spirit of wisdom encountered you through the word of God. That is wisdom. But if you don't have wisdom, you need to check your eyes because haughty eyes, that's pride, and I know it all, and um, yeah, I have this experience, so I know, and you don't know anything, and you're not old enough, and you know, you haven't experienced enough, and this I, you know, I, I, me, me, I, and it's just pride in the eyes, and so we not we that we can't have haughty eyes and have the wisdom of God, so therefore, if you don't have the wisdom of God, how are you gonna determine access? How are you gonna even guard your heart? How are you even gonna know when something is off? How are you even gonna have accurate discernment? You're not. Because you have the wrong spirit functioning in your life. If you have haughty eyes, you don't have godly wisdom. You don't. They cannot function together at the same time. You either have one or the other. So if you're not getting Um, you know, and everybody's like, Oh, I want revelation, all these things. No, you just want wisdom. Wisdom is all you need to ask for, but then if you don't have wisdom and you don't have those moments of God continually encountering you and showing you things in the word of God that you've never read before, and and literally blowing your mind, like your mind should be blown on a daily basis when you sit with the Lord. You should be like, Oh wow, I I didn't know that. Um, if you're if that's not happening to you, then I would go into an evaluation and ask God to show you, show me. Do I have any haughty eyes? That's what I would ask in my prayer closet. Because God, I want wisdom, and we can ask for wisdom and ask for wisdom and ask for wisdom, but we don't ever want to repent and turn away from haughty eyes. You won't ever have wisdom, true godly wisdom. You might have logical wisdom and the wisdom of man and the wisdom from your experiences and what you've studied and know, but you won't have outside of the realm of time wisdom, which is the true wisdom of God. You won't have that with haughty eyes because they both can't function at the same time. So if you don't have wisdom, I would encourage you to get rid of the haughty eyes. Okay, then ask for wisdom, then you will be able to determine access. Forgiveness means I release offense. Trust is built through consistent faithfulness. Access is granted according to wisdom and stewardship. Even Jesus forgave those who crucified him, praying, Father, forgive them. But he did not entrust himself indiscriminately during his ministry. John two, twenty-four through twenty-five. Jesus on his part did not entrust himself to them because he knew all people. This is one of the clearest passages showing that perfect love can it coexist with wise boundaries. Remember this relationships are biblical circles of influence. You had the crowd, the people you love and serve, the community, friends and fellow believers, the team, those who labor alongside you, the inner circle, proven, trusted people with greater access. And then you have the covenant circle, a spouse or those with unique God-given covenant responsibilities. The mistake many people make is assuming that because someone is forgiven, they automatically belong in the innermost circle. Scripture consistently shows otherwise. Jesus loved the crowds, served the crowds, and even died for the world. Yet he intentionally gave different levels of access to different people. That pattern reflects wisdom, not partiality. But I want you to remember one thing. This principle should not become a justification for isolation, favoritism or withholding forgiveness. The biblical pattern is one of open-hearted love toward all people paired with discerning stewardship of trust and responsibility. Boundaries are meant to protect healthy relationships and enable faithful ministries, not to create exclusive clicks or elevate some believers over others. Okay, do not use these circles to build anything outside of love. Okay, a lot of people began to build um cults and tribes and all these phrases that they use, but it's okay to rearrange your circles every now and then. It's not bad. If God shows you something, just rearrange it. Or or put someone in the third, fourth circle for a season. And just, hey, you know what? I'm setting a boundary. I I I'm not discerning properly. I need to just put this person in this place for a season because something feels off, something doesn't feel right, and I need to just allow time to reveal the truth, and you just trust God, okay? And like my daughter, you don't have to go tell that person that. You know, don't just shut people out and not give any explanation if they ask. I mean, it's it's not a it's not a big deal to actually have a conversation, you know, but it's healthy to actually have a conversation if the conversation is needed. If it's not needed, then just in your heart, you put that person in that place and you continue on, you know, with your friendship. You just maybe you don't share as much as you used to, or maybe you don't, you know, you don't you don't hang out with them as much as you used to, and and it's not anything, you know. If they ask, you can be honest, you know, be an adult, have an actual conversation, and you know, bring clarity to the situation. If they get offended, well, sorry, you know, Jesus offended people. It's it's not it's not that we have to walk around trying not to offend everybody. Um, it's okay if people get offended, that's on them, it's not on you, you know. So I encourage you take time, get you a piece of paper out, draw five circles with a small one, small to big ratio, and ask the Holy Spirit, not yourself, because the Bible even says your heart deceives you. Okay, you can't even really trust yourself to a to a certain point. You need to go through Jesus, you need to go through the one who knows the heart of man, and you need to say, God, who is in circle one? Who is in circle two? And continue on through the fifth circle and ask the Holy Spirit. If he doesn't tell you right away, leave the circle blank. Okay, wait upon the Lord, give him time to answer you. He might answer you by exposing somebody, and you might be like, Oh, dang, I was gonna put them in circle one, and oh my, I'm putting them in circle five now. You know what I'm saying? Like, let the Holy Spirit build your circles. He knows the heart of man, he knows what's being said behind the scenes, or you know what they do behind the scenes that you're you know, you don't know. Let him build your circle, but ask and then ask and wait. I love you guys. And if you need help, if you need prayer, if you need anything, please feel free to reach out to me.
