Description: Both in Halacha and American law, when property is damaged, there are two main measures of damages:
1. Cost of Repair The cost to restore the property to its pre-damage condition.
2. Diminution in Value (Resale Value) The difference between the property's fair market value before and after the damage.
In this shiur Rabbi Yehoshua Yaffe will discuss the different opinions in Halacha on this matter and examine the concepts underlying the different viewpoints.
