Okay, as long as one person left you on the. It's still not comedy if only one person come come on, man, you, you escaped the flight, log you, whatever, oh yeah. So how's it going, buddy?
Speaker 4it's going good. Um, now we uh, we should, or at least I should point out that we're recording this during a very important game, and so if I suddenly seem very interested in the podcast, it means that my home team has scored. I'm not actually excited about anything that happened here, okay, so all right.
Speaker 4Well, if I if I go, oh my gosh, um, no, I'm, in all seriousness, I am paying attention, um, so I I'm just trying to to multitask because I'm I'm very interested in the game and, uh, I don't know. And I'll say this Sometimes I do have a it's not a TiVo, but it's a video recording device. Sometimes I will watch the game and record the game and watch it later, you know, and not hear the score and stuff like that.
Speaker 4I have found, though, that recently, with social media and everything, it is so hard to not know the score of a game, especially a game like this, to not know the outcome of a game, because it's just all over the place. So it's really hard to like back in the old days, the old days, all you had to do was not watch the news or listen to the radio and you knew that you'd be OK. Nowadays, like, people post on Facebook, you know their reaction to the outcome. So, like, even people who aren't even sports fans will post reactions and stuff like that. So I just feel like nowadays it's really hard to um to I don't know what the term is I'm looking for shield yourself from knowing who won so exactly, it's kind of like uh spoilers in movies, essentially in a way.
Speaker 4In a way, yeah, I also feel like sometimes, though, even if I know the score, I'll still go back and watch it, because if it turns out the game was like 33 to 34 or something, it's like, oh, that was close, I bet you that was a good game to watch. Or if I hear that, oh, it went into overtime, or there was this big play at the very end that won the whole thing, I might watch it then, even though I know who wins. But anyway, I think and the other thing is like for this game in particular I want to know so badly. It's going to be hard to wait that long to find out.

Speaker 3So just so everybody knows, uh, this right now this episode is going to be released. Obviously, as you're hearing this, it's January 22nd, but as we're recording it, it is during the Vikings and the LA Rams wildcard game. So that is why DW is, you know, he's kind of on edge right now. But as you're hearing this, either A the Rams have won or B the Vikings have won, and they have either A gone on to beat the Philadelphia Eagles or B they have gone on to lose to the Philadelphia Eagles. So, as you're listening to this right now, either the Vikings are on their way to the nfc championship or they have been home for two weeks and um, yeah, fair to say.
Speaker 4Well, and here's, here's the thing, here's the joke my wife always does. She's like oh, do you want to know who won? The team that scored the most points and she likes to do that to me, you know, and there. It is a surprise visit from mrs serene so I don't know if we'll ever get her on the show.
Speaker 3I'm not sure you never know, like we, we've always talked about doing the whole like subscription thing and having the betrothals on. So you know it, it's a uh, it's a possibility. We could probably do this. But I have to say, I have to say some things. Do you have a?

Speaker 3I don't have a legal disclaimer I don't because people have been very, very, I guess, patient with me, because they know that I'm able to say whatever and I'm not cancelled yet.

Speaker 3And, and obviously it is getting us work. So, uh, but anyway, um, a couple of things I wanted to uh bring up Number one. Number one is, as you're hearing this, you, we may or may not have a tick tock, just actually tick tock may or may not even exist, ok, so it's the truth. That's, that's what it is. So we're going to start doing a lot more on Instagram, so we'll get to that part in just a minute, but I do want to. I did want to bring that up and say that. Number two is this is a scolarius first, and what I mean by a scolarius first is a scolarius first, and that is this. I am completely 100% sober. Um, okay, wait, hold on, maybe this is going.
Speaker 3Yeah, all yeah, all right. Yeah, thc stays in your system for 30 days, so probably not 100 sober, but I have not have not used any thc products prior to this recording, and I am not drinking a thc soda today. I'm actually just drinking a sparkling ice caffeine. So, um, I got a couple of them next to me and that's that's kind of what I'm going. So that's a first right and probably a last, to be fair I was gonna say what's wrong with you uh, nothing.
Speaker 3I just I didn't really feel it today, so not a big deal. Some days I don't feel it, and today's one of them. Um, another really cool thing uh, I'm sure that everybody who listens to this podcast has heard of the tiger king, right?
Speaker 3probably okay, so I don't know if this is known or whatever, but but zach baggins, our good buddy zach, zach baggins and his crew did in, did an episode on the gw zoo um a couple years back I think it was during the pandemic, I believe. Um, well, anyway, anyway, I decided, you know we heard from like Jeff Lowe and his wife or whatever, lauren on there, and you heard from Zach and Aaron and all that stuff on there, but you know there's never been anything from Joe Exotic himself. Okay, yeah.
Speaker 3So your boy, you know your favorite of the co-ghosts, john. He decided he was going to email good old Joe Exotic. And well, let's just say this there is a possibility if, if we can get through all the legal ramifications and everything because he is in federal prison, that scolarius will have the tiger king himself, joe exotic on scolarius so if he's still in prison, does that mean our mean, our episode will have to be limited to like whatever his length is the phone call length, I think is like 20 minutes or something like that.
Speaker 3So his guest appearance will be 20 minutes and me and you are just going to have to do the rest of it, and I think we will have zero problem with that. So he's done documentary after documentary. Have zero problem with that. So he's done documentary after documentary and um yeah, so fingers crossed, guys. Fingers crossed as today is january 22nd as you're listening to this, fingers crossed that you know we will have the tiger king on scolarius in the near future. I thought that was pretty cool. As you know, I had thought about reaching out to Stormy Daniels, but I felt that Joe Exotic would be a lot more fun. So just saying anyway.

With that being said, I just want to say our our guest this week, this I think this is pretty awesome. A few weeks back, we had a guest on who owned a haunted house that was rented out to um people to investigate, and that's the Boyd house in in Boyd Minnesota. Right, yeah, but now we're going to I can't even say it's the east coast and, first of all, it's not the midwest either. I don't care.
Speaker 3Ohio, indiana and Michigan are not the midwest. You know why they're not the midwest? Because they're an hour earlier than us and that means that they're on the eastern side, which means which means or an hour later. Technically, anyway, it doesn't matter. They're on the east, so they're over there. And this place, this place is in bel-air, ohio, and it is a haunted attraction that I want to know all the info on and you guys want to hear the info on. So, with that being said, I would like to introduce to you our guest this week, cindy Kuhn, from the Ross House in good old Bel Air, ohio. Cindy, how are you doing today?
Speaker 5I'm doing pretty good, enjoying what you guys are talking about.
Speaker 3Yeah, we're pretty good. I think we're kind of funny in a way. I mean, I would hope so. It's kind of our gig.
Speaker 5Well, that's good, I like it.
The Haunted House Journey
Speaker 3That's good. So I have to ask you this how's the weather in ohio today?
Speaker 5it sucks, it just sucks. It's colder than shit it. You know you're looking at 20, some degrees, 30 degrees. You know I'm not a I'm not a happy winter person. I'll, I'll tell you that. So I'm just counting down the days to spring uh, we are currently at six.
Speaker 3We're at six degrees and I think the wind chill is several degrees below. So it is it's cold, it's very cold yeah, that's a big hell.
Speaker 5No, there. I spent many years in Vegas, living in Vegas, so this is, just you know, not a good thing right now.
Speaker 3All right. Well, I mean, you're kind of, in a way, leading the way a little bit. So with that, I mean you lived in Vegas, now you're in Ohio. So how did you get there? Why did you get there and, most importantly, what made you purchase a haunted house?
Speaker 5Well, I actually did not purchase a haunted house, you have to understand. I was born and raised in Bel Air, I was in the casino business and the casino business takes you a lot of different places and I ended up moving to Las Vegas from, you know, for many, many years and I stayed there until my husband passed away and then I came back here to the Ohio Valley to raise my kids and I was in the casino business actually for 46 years. So that's pretty much all I knew was that, although I still call Vegas my hometown, that's where my buds are. But anyway, so the house, basically, you have to understand, my family has a store right next to the house and we have used furniture in the antique store and my dad would was always into real estate, buying all houses around the store and everything, but this one particular house was never up for sale and when the final owner passed away, that's when my family purchased this and that was in 1990. So that's the actual beginning of the house. But still, at that time in 1990, I was still living in Vegas, but my dad actually used this house as a rental for quite a while. But there was a lot of construction going on there and people would come and go, they'd tear things up and, you know, it became a mess and basically, after a while, my dad decided to use it as a storage for any furniture that he would bring in that he couldn, that he couldn't sell. Basically, uh, we buy out of states and, um, so people pass away, we take on their furniture and all their you know, whatever belongings are left.
Speaker 5So in 2015, I asked my dad if I could have the house, because I like escape rooms and I wanted to start a business. I was thinking you know, what am I going to do once I retire? Right, because I was starting to get up there in age a little bit thinking about stuff. But I do like escape rooms and at first my dad didn't want me to have it and he, you know my dad would say Cindy, oh, you don't want that house, there's ghosts in there that's how he would say a ghost. And anyway, I thought I was just bullshitty. He just doesn't want me to mess with all of his stuff over there. He finally gave in let me have the house. And I had no idea about the paranormal. Still don't understand a lot of this stuff. Some of this stuff scares me a little bit. Some of this stuff I'm just not so sure about.
Speaker 5But I started to clean out the house in 2015 and things started happening. And I mean, I was just, I used to just blow things off, thinking I'm just hearing things. I'm just, you know, I'm tired because I work and I got to clean out this place, get it ready to open up for an escape room, but then it became obvious that there was issues in the house and I had to, at that point, call in and with help with people that, uh, I had heard about and uh, and one of them was, uh, kristin lee, who actually has another, has a haunted house in bel-air, and, uh, she brought in a team which I think, uh, steve humble might have been Okay At one point, I think, he joined that team and came up and they were trying to help me out. They investigated and tried to get me to understand what's going on in that house and, boy, I guess I'm just old and stubborn. Oh, boy, I guess I'm just old and stubborn. You know, I tried to make you know, make it work and, just, you know, do what they said to do and everything. And you know, eventually I'll just fast forward just a little bit.
Speaker 5But you know, escape Zone was there for six years and you know, and we, we, things were happening in that place the entire time. Um, and some people would ask me, cindy, do you have plants in that house? Do you, you know, to make people? You know, because escape rooms are are fun, but sometimes they can be a little scary too. Right, um, and we just got to where escape zone had to move out of there.
Speaker 5Um, you know, the area town's not the best anymore and it's actually in cambridge, ohio now, and, um, we were just going to go ahead and use it, you know, for, you know, for furniture and everything, and, um, the lady, uh, kristen, told me that I should use it, you know, just open up for full-time investigations, and that's what I ended up doing and that's, uh was two and a half years ago and, uh, it's it's been interesting, it's been very interesting. Um, what can I say? It's um, a lot of, a lot of. I found out a lot of things about the area, um, and about why things happen.
Speaker 5Um, and I don't think it's just my house that has activity. I, I am, uh, I've come to the belief that it's the land that has is one of the reasons why there's so much going on. I do have some resident spirits and people that have lived there before and they've made themselves known, and it seems like the house also has a spirit by the name of Alfred, who actually lived next door across the street I should say not next door across the street who has taken up residence in the house, and this spirit actually passed away in 1925 in a coal mine two miles down the road.
Speaker 3Oh, wow, yeah.
Speaker 5Yeah, so it's been quite a ride, it's been very interesting. So it's been quite a ride, it's been very interesting. And it's things that I try to, I try to understand, you know, and I will say this I've met a lot of really great people with when I go to greet them, because I try to make sure I'm there every single time to let these people in to greet them and talk to them, and I always try, you know, since I was an executive host in a casino, I I like to get to get to know these people and their history, what they're about, and I'll tell you there's a big, I mean there's a big variation. I mean it's just a lot of different people from different backgrounds that are interested in this stuff and, um, it's crazy, it's, it's neat, it's, uh, it's fun, but, uh, I don't actually investigate myself have you ever never wow just
Speaker 5my house just my just being, just my house, just my just being in my house. But at the same time, see, I'm just not so sure and I'll tell you why. You know, you see so many people and I have people make comments to me about being scratched, about being. I actually witnessed a lady who felt like she was being stabbed, and this woman wasn't putting this on, she was gray. You know, I've I've just I've witnessed a lot happen here and that makes me wonder what the hell is this? You know that it can actually hurt somebody. You know that it can actually hurt somebody and make them feel the way they do.
Paranormal Investigation Stay at Ross House
Speaker 5I've had people bust out crying and then I'm afraid to leave them. You know, I'm like God damn what the hell's going on here. You know, so I have oh boy, I don't quite understand everything yet. Well, I probably never will, but that's one of the reasons Well, one of the few reasons that I don't investigate myself. And another thing is I don't like being. I mean a lot of these people. They go out in cold weather and cemeteries and all that shit and it's like, nah, I think I'll pass and cemeteries and all that shit and it's like nah, I think I'll pass.
Speaker 5Yeah, I'm not a cold person. I don't like to be cold, you know, but my house is heated but they have fun. I mean, I, I just I had the best time this past weekend with some people who wanted to have a year in review party and I'll tell you what it was a blast. I stuck around for a little bit before they while they showed their different places. They went and you know, and I and they did a thing where the best evidence review, and it was they picked my place and a certain thing that happened at my place and but it was, you know. So I, I people, and I'm always happy when they catch things. You know, I can never promise that these spirits will be around at that time when they're there, but I always I hope they are, you know. Right.
Speaker 5But it seems like they're having a good-ass time, you know, so that makes me happy.
Speaker 3That's good time, you know, so that makes me happy. That's good. What? What do you think the percentage is of times people catch something, compared to people going in there and spending the night or whatever, not getting anything?
Speaker 5It always gets something, except very, very seldom does somebody walk out of there and say they didn't get anything. Very seldom, oh yeah, on my Facebook page, when I was debating whether to open this up or not, I just started browsing around and reading things about other people and and what some of these investigators were saying and, um, I decided number one, that um, I, whatever happens in that happens in that house, okay, um, I'm going to tell the truth, as I have been finding out the truth by going to the courthouse and everything. I'm never going to exaggerate. I don't want to be caught in any lies. So, with that, I just tell the people that what you see is what you get.
Speaker 5I can't promise and I leave it at that. I give them the history of the house, the owners, the spirits that have been there. If they want to know, I always ask them do they want to know or do they want to go in blind? And then I leave. You know, but it's it's. I just always give the truth and I can't promise nothing. You know, but it's it's. I just always give the truth and I can't promise nothing. You know, but it's very seldom. I think not very many block out with hardly anything but what I did do too I kind of got off. Subject there a little bit is whatever people I have in my kitchen on the ross house I have, uh, dry erase boards and I ask them, I and I tell each and every one that that is my only source of advertising. And you know, I don't do the paid facebook and all that.
Speaker 3Right.
Speaker 5Horseshit, but I just do the. You know whatever I said. If you don't mind, write down what you catch, like when you take a break, and when I come back in, those boards are filled, okay, the next day, and I take a snapshot of those boards and I post them. I don't add anything to them, I post exactly what they write, okay, and that tells me that they're having a good time. And that's my main concern and that's what I want for them to have a good time. That's a really cool idea.
Speaker 3That is a good idea.

Speaker 3Yeah, all right, we're going to get down to the business side of this. Okay, how much do you charge per night?
Speaker 5Okay, so you know I run a lot of specials, Okay, but a normal night during the week is $200, and that's up to five people, five investigators. Okay, On a Friday, a Saturday or a Sunday, I charge $300 a night, up to five investigators. Now the house and I think five investigators is totally enough for that house. The house is not that big, it's not a mansion, okay, it's a regular three-bedroom house and the house was built in 1895, so there's not a lot of insulation in the house, right? So you know you want to be able to have a good investigation without hearing each other.

Speaker 5Right, yeah, now there is another side to this Attached, believe it or not, attached by a door is the barn furniture, okay, which is our family business, and it is about 7,500 square foot, okay, and sometimes, if people have a big team, we let them go in and investigate the store as well, for an additional $200.
Speaker 3Wow, yeah. Either way that's not bad, because if we're talking 300 bucks for five people, you're not getting a hotel for that. So I mean, and yeah, it's, it's uh, so what are the amenities like there and what? I don't mean like you know, turn down service or like, but I'm just saying like, uh, obviously it's sort there like a working fridge and stuff like that you could put food in and yes so there is, there's, there is a kitchen in there.
Speaker 5There, um, that you know, there's a kitchen in there. There's no stove in there, um, but there's a microwave, a hot plate, a refrigerator, a freezer. You know it's, it's a, it's a kitchen, it's a. It's a smaller kitchen, but it's a full kitchen. There's a table in there. I always have there's a Keurig. I always leave coffee there. There's always creamer tea bags. You know sugar, you know sweet and low. Well, you know, I always leave soda water in the refrigerator for them and some chips or whatever I might have at the time. Sometimes I throw out cookies or, you know, it just depends Mostly chips and stuff like that, so they have something to munch on.
Speaker 4Again, it's more than what you would get at a hotel.
Speaker 5Absolutely, oh yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 5I have some rules in the house. I have a in I. What I did was, before I got on here, I put I put some pictures of the house on my Facebook page in a group so that if anybody wants to go onto the Ross house page they can actually see the house. The house now. The house is a work in progress. Uh, it was an escape room two and a half years ago, right, um, and I have done redone the? Uh downstairs, but I have not redone the upstairs yet. So there's some areas that are still real rough. But they can go on there and look and see. I have took pictures of everything, I think, except for the bathroom. Do you have?
Speaker 4heating, air conditioning, oh yeah, there's heat.
Speaker 5There's, there is heat in the winter time. In the summertime I have window air, so you know it's 24 7. Uh, these people can check in as early as five o'clock. Some of them that, um, you know they, if they get in town earlier, because sometimes we'll get people to stay the whole weekend and everything. If they want to come in earlier, that that's fine, I'll come down earlier. I live about 15 minutes away. Um, so, yeah, they could stay in then they could investigate all night. There's, there's always fresh bedding. I have, uh, I have one full. There's three bedrooms. One of the rooms has a full size bed and the other two rooms have twins, but there's also blow up mattresses if they need them in that. So, yeah, and there's always fresh bedding. You know you could sleep there. You can actually sleep there. You don't have to worry about anything like that. You know it's kept clean.
Speaker 4I mean, that was my, that was was my first thought. When you mentioned how old the house was, I was like, okay there, they probably didn't have central air when it was built.
Speaker 5So stay there when it's hot. So right, yeah, so I, you know I got about five air, uh window air units that I run in the in the summertime oh wow.
Speaker 3What's the square footage of the house? You said three bedroom, so what ours is, um, I think like 2 000 something, it's.
Speaker 5I mean, it's not I'm gonna say it's about 1700. I'm not real sure, but I'm gonna say about 1700 square foot. Okay, nice, that's not too bad.
Speaker 3Two floors and five people in 1700 square feet is not.
Speaker 5It's not overcrowded, no so no, because you know, a lot of people really enjoy the basement. Um, so, yeah, no, it's not bad at all, you know, but if you get a bigger group, I think it's too much. Um, and what I have found is people get better results with smaller teams. Okay, I think, yeah, they do. They get better results with smaller teams and being just very quiet, it's odd. It's almost like the house has a pulse or a personality in a way. I mean, it's just crazy. But another thing I wanted to mention is I? Another reason I feel that the house has so much activity is because we're on a ley line and that means there's always a flow of energy that does, you know, coming through and is that based on?
Speaker 3okay, you're in a river valley. I've seen the map of the house. You're literally you could throw a rock from the front door and probably hit the Ohio River.
Speaker 5Oh, definitely yes yeah. There's been a lot of flooding there too.
Speaker 3Well, probably not the best thing to have. No, you're, you know, on the ground floor of that thing and you know, in the summertime, uh, if, yeah, if it was happening. But uh, I would assume you know you're that close to west virginia, you have a whole lot of coal mine stuff happening over there. I think, um, where you're at, uh, yeah, and I, it's a, the ground is different, like the, the. Uh, the earth is is a lot different there and it has different roles and things like that in it which conduct energy which I mean, has been proven or disproven throughout the years a lot of limestone, a lot of limestone yep, and that's uh, supposedly a, uh, a conductor of energy, whether it's paranormal or not.
Speaker 3Uh, so you say it's so active. So let me ask you this what is the scariest thing that you've heard? Now, I'm not saying you experienced yourself, but what is the scariest thing you've heard about the activity there?
Speaker 5okay. So I have, um, this one gentleman. He's been to the house quite a few times and just dearly love him. I mean, he is just a big teddy bear, you know, and I won't say his name, uh, although hopefully I don't mess up and say it, but uh, sometimes he likes to uh provoke a little bit, okay, and, um, he was in the house one time. I think he learned his lesson on this. So he was in the house one time and uh, alfred, um, the spirit alfred can get a little, um mean, okay, um, and this gentleman is uh provoking alfred and alfred choked him and Alfred choked him, okay, and he just, you know, he just kept going with it and he kept feeling choked. He stopped and did some other stuff and went on through the house some more, came back and he started provoking again and he actually went and threw up, yeah, yeah, wow, that was not good. The other one was this I had these ladies come in and this whole team came in and they're all mediums and the first time they were ever in the house and they did not want to know anything about the spirits that are in there, anything about the house whatsoever.
Speaker 5And there's, there was four of them and one gentleman, and they came in and I noticed this one little bit. She was a little bit older and she is starting to act a little bit funny and her husband was talking to her. Actually there was two men, I forgot, yeah, there's two men there. And she went and she sat in the front room and her husband's putting her his arm around her and she's going, I'll be okay, I'll be okay. And then she started walking around and then all of a sudden she starts crying in pain and she says he's stabbing me in the back. He's stabbing me in the back. Now I'm sitting there. What the fuck is happening here? I'm I don't know what the shit. You know here, I'm the owner of the house. I don't know what to do for this lady. And then two other mediums come in and they're talking and they sit her in the chair in the dining room and all of a sudden the one says Alfred, you're hurting her, let her go, let her go. And you don't realize what you're doing to her. This woman is gray and I'm going. I don't know. I don't know what to think about this. I know this woman's not putting this shit on because she, I mean, she's crying and she's in pain and these spirits, or these mediums, knew the name of the spirit that was hurting her and they're they're saying let her go, let her go. Before long the color starts coming back to her face, she's starting to relax. They gave her a tissue to wipe her eyes and everything and I'm, and I'm feeling helpless really.
Speaker 5The uh, the leader of the of that group, I says what I asked him. I said what the hell was that about? I said I ain't never seen shit like this in my life. And he says she doesn't know how to funnel it when they come at her and I'm sitting there. I didn't know what to think, you know. But I know what I did after the next day.
Speaker 5So, just being an old goddamn granny, I guess I went in there because this one lady that helps me keep the house calm, she says you have to take ownership of your house and you have to let you know.
Speaker 5Because I'm sitting there thinking I don't want that Alfred dude to come after me. And so I went in there and I'm hollering at a goddamn wall and I'm telling Alfred you know, don't you ever do that to anybody again and don't you ever come, come at me like that and and I got this, you know the smudge out and I'm going like running around doing all kinds of shit, like like I know what the hell I'm doing. I'm really don't know what the hell I'm doing. But you know, and I'm the only thing I could think of was I'm glad my girlfriends are with me to see this, because they got lost my mind. But I knew I had to take ownership of the house. And if that spirit set his ass straight and you know, and for someone who's somewhat of a skeptic on some things, I just I was not sure. It just blew my mind, really Blew my mind. So you're a skeptic in some ways On some things. There's some things I believe, some things I don't believe.
Haunted Experiences in the Escape Room
Speaker 3Okay. So you said earlier on when you were I want to go back to when it was in the escape room and you said people were like, hey, you have plants in there. What were the stories you were hearing from people?
Speaker 5They would say they were being touched, poked, things like that. Yeah, help would get scared. I had a nephew who he called me. He was so scared. He was my game master. He was so scared. He went running out one day. Yeah, Wow.
Speaker 3So this stuff was happening like consistently.
Speaker 5Yeah, when it was escape room.
Speaker 3Yeah, like first of all like escape rooms, like escape rooms, like you said, can be, you know, I mean they're, they're like fun. But they have. Sometimes they have like a horror vibe to it which makes it really cool. But depending on the rooms, you're correct. Yeah, when you're not expecting it to be a horror room, you know, or whatever else and stuff like that's happening. I can see why that would be like really trippy. Um, so has anything ever really happened to you in that house?
Speaker 5yeah, yeah, a couple things, um. Number one I try not to spend a lot of time in that house because it gives me a headache. Okay, I feel pressure in my head if I'm there too long. So when I go in there I try to get my stuff done, straighten up the house, get the trash out from whoever was there before. Yeah, you know, do the? Uh, change the bedding and that Um, but I try to get out.
Speaker 5Now, this past weekend I did not and I was okay, but a lot of times it gives me a headache, um, but yeah, so when I was in there one time, um, so when it was escape room, um, and I had to call for help or start getting out, that the house had activity and I had a gentleman who wanted to come in and investigate and he has to come in after my games are done and I'm S the games were done and I'm sitting in the office area and I um, I'm waiting on him to get there and all of a sudden I felt like I was being surrounded by people. You know like, I felt like someone was invading my space, right?
Speaker 5right and they kept. It felt like they were getting closer and closer and I I'm like, well, I'm here by myself, but this feels weird and it just it was just the weirdest feeling and I thought that I'm just freaking myself out. So I called Sean. I said Sean, how far out are you? He says, well, I'm still an hour out. I thought, well, son of a bitch. I said I got to get the hell out of here. There's something that doesn't feel right in here. And I gave him the code for the door and I got in my car and I started heading home. Now, the only thing in the passenger side was my purse, but I felt like someone was in the car with me. Oh, my.
Speaker 5God. And what's odd is I oh, hold on a minute, alexa, stop. Somehow. Alexa picked that up Anyhow. It felt like somebody was in the car with me. And I go home and I watch the late news. I turn off the TV and I go home and I watch the late news, I turn off the TV and I go to bed and the TV comes back on. Five times that happened and I thought I don't know what the hell this is about and I finally unplugged my TV. So come to find out, because I had met up with this little lady who she does Reiki and she has all these powers. My friend knew her. She came over and she was explaining that something had followed me home.
Speaker 5I didn't know anything about all this stuff and that was not cool. I didn't like anything about all this stuff and and that was that was not cool I had to have. I didn't like that at all. And then another thing that happened to me was I was with my sister and it was an escape room still and I was showing her the latest room that we'd done and we heard a bang downstairs and we came out of that room, walked down the hallway.
Speaker 5We were swinging around to go down the stairs, okay, and I saw a big face, a big face right there near the stairs and my sister saw it too and scared the living shit out of us and I just wanted I ran, I just ran, I just I can't tell you I saw a body. I just remember a face would look like wet hair, scared, scared me to death, just scared me to death. Um boy, another time we were doing a public investigation and there's a girl in the basement her name is Anna and I said in the in downstairs, I says, uh, anna, I says, if you don't mind, I want you to just touch my fingers, I want to feel you touch my fingers. And I just was hoping that he feels some tingly right and that's on my fingers.
Speaker 5And then, all of a sudden, the cat ball goes off, the REM pod goes off, and then, a second later, I feel somebody running their hands through my hair. Oh, and I jumped and I ran up those stairs and everyone's screaming Don't run, cindy, don't run. And I was like bullshit. I mean, I didn't go in that basement for two and a half weeks. I thought that's, I'm not fucking out of here. Buttercup man, you know that's scary shit, you know I, I mean, I felt like fingers were going through my hair. I thought that that shit ain't for me. So, anyway, um, those were the things that, uh, that stick out in my mind now. Have I heard things? Yeah, I've heard a lot and, uh, I've seen things happen, um, but I just, um, I don't know, you know I, I don't, you know, can't quite explain it. Really, you know, can't quite explain it. I don't know why.
Speaker 3sometimes they're like mean, sometimes they're nice I'm gonna ask you this very simple question and I feel like okay. So on a scale of one to ten, one being casper level haunted and ten being the roof of the firehouse and ghostbusters exploding and every ghost in the um, in the containment unit, flying out into the streets of new york. How haunted is the ross house?
Speaker 5I could tell you that I think and I still feel that, even though I have activity from residential intelligent spirits in that house, I think that whole piece of land has issues. Okay, that whole ground is cursed. I I believe that with my whole heart there's something there, there's some. I mean, I know that shawnee and dens were there. I know all the flooding, all the people that lost their lives around her. I don't think, um, you know everybody I can't give. I just don't know that I could put that. It's not casper, it's definitely not casper. Alfred is not casper and, uh, big willie that tends to come around at times is definitely not a casper. Um, I'm gonna put it at maybe an eight Holy moly.
Speaker 3Wow, look at that, that's pretty good.
Speaker 5It's just all you know. People tell me your place is so unique, and they go, they pick up. You have to read the reviews, right? Yeah, you know, and what people say, I'm going to stick it as an eight. Yeah, because I know there's some places that are really like crazy, and you know, and, and sometimes the house is crazy, and one time, uh, and people tell me that you know, the house, house shakes sometimes. And I don't, I think it's the, it's underneath the ground, it's shaking, that's what I think. I mean. I don't, I think it's the it's underneath the ground, it's shaking, that's what I think. I mean. I don't know. You know, sometimes they say the house will shake geez isn't that weird yeah, it's incredible, it's a ground.
Speaker 5I think it's the ground shaking. I think there's something into the ground shaking is what I think they've, they've. I've heard so many things, I mean.
Speaker 3So Do you have repeat Groups that go in there?
Speaker 5Oh my, gosh, yes, all the time. Yeah, I mean we're basically I'm not well known out there In the paranormal field, yet you know I get a lot of repeats. Absolutely, people love coming there, yeah.
Speaker 3You're on Scolarius now. Cindy, you'll be well known in the paranormal field. Okay, Okay. Either you'll be a like. This is how it's going to work. Either your place will be the most reputable haunted house in America or you will be the laughingstock of the haunted houses in America. One of the two is going to happen, okay.
Speaker 5I stand by my word on everything I said. I don't bullshit. I like to laugh and joke and everything with everybody, but I stand by what I say on the house.
Speaker 3That's good. I'm glad, because that's what makes it. The credibility is what makes it even better If you're standing by it and you're saying, hey, this is the way it is the stories that you told us. Here are. Some of them are bone chilling. The haunted like, sincerely, a ghost following you home sitting in your car. That shit's creepy.
Speaker 5Yeah, yeah. I have no idea what the hell is going on. I you know, and that's the things that scare me because, um, I don't want any shit in my house. Okay, where I live, you know it could stay at that house. And when I go out, every time I, after I leave people, the first thing that comes out of my mouth is you're not allowed to follow my ass home.
Speaker 3You know, my house is peaceful there you go, that's the way, yeah, you don't want to bring it home.
Speaker 3And you know I I do investigations, I did, uh, quite a bit. I I do like I'm, you know I'll go to a cemetery, do a ghost box session, or you know, go to a place that that's seemingly haunted, do like ghost fox sessions, or whatever. I I don't, and I'll always say like, all right, I'm leaving, you are not, you're staying right here. You're not allowed to follow me. Uh, maybe we'll talk later, but you're not allowed to follow me home. And it's been good ever. I mean, I've never had any issues.
Speaker 3The only issue that I will say the only issue that I will say is that we have power lines that run next to our house and you can hear them buzzing. Everything else that's straight energy, right, I mean it's that's what? Uh, now am I do? I have a huge tumor growing in my head from it. It's a possibility. I don't know who knows, but, um, there are times when we're here that you know, maybe, maybe not see out of the corner of your eye somebody walking by or whatever, but I look at it like, as I said, it's energy. If it's here, then it's on in every house by us. You know what I mean. It's not just with us, but, um, I know exactly what you mean. Don't want to bring the evil shit. You know, if it's cool, it's cool, if it's not, it can stay away. That's the way I feel about it. Um, oh yeah, do you have any like? Have you had any well-known paranormal groups that have gone into the Ross house? Yeah.

Ross House Overnight Investigation Experience
Speaker 3Yeah, very cool, that's cool. Also, another couple of kids. I want to see if I could tangle to get on on our podcast. I feel that'd be, that'd be a lot of fun, because they seem like they're fun and me and DW well, at least I am, we're fun and then yeah, so I think that'd be, that'd be a cool thing. So Sam and Colby were there.

Speaker 5for about an hour. So sam and colby were there. You said for an hour. What did they do about an hour?
Speaker 3huh, they're cute, pretty much pose okay, so they didn't really investigate anything they did.
Speaker 5They just did a little bit in the basement, but there was a whole big uh thing going on right before that where at another property, they had um, misbehaved, I guess, and um, yeah, so anyhow, the owner of that house brought him over. They were scheduled to come over to investigate. So she was with them because she felt that I maybe she felt that I couldn't handle it, but I could handle myself pretty damn good um, but she wanted to be there and they were there about an hour just did some posing, and then they were off to the penitentiary, which I was fine with that, you know. But uh, and, and they're so, I mean, they're young kids, you know, just young kids.
Speaker 5Back then it was, um, my gosh, it was still escape zone when they came over. So it was yeah, yeah, it was, yeah, it was uh, cute, I'm sitting here. The only thing I could think of was my god, I hope they got a good manager, somebody good to manage their you know their finances, because you know they're just running around doing all this shit and you know, I just hope that they're saving some money.
Speaker 3You know the money right, yeah, most likely that they didn't, but you know it did. Yeah, that's most likely they didn't. They probably most they might might have saved some money or spending on ridiculous shit.
Speaker 5It's either one or the other but they were very polite with me, very, very polite. I polite. I've only had one person who wasn't so polite in the house. Everybody's been very, very good, but the one person I handled them. You know I'm used to handling assholes anyway. I mean I was a casino host, so you know I was going to say I have to travel with a lot of people, right, you know, leave their ass and jail and everything.
Speaker 3Yeah, yeah, I mean. And you live in vegas, so I mean you have to be that tough when you're out there. That's, that's, oh yeah all right, so we can't just let that go. So who was? Who was that person and why was he an asshole? What?
Speaker 5what happened. So him, uh, so his name I, I call him bad benny, okay and um, bad benny was probably about six foot four and he was out in the middle of the street making a damn fool of himself and, um, he had to go, that's all, that's all I'll say. And I told him he, he, he can't stay, you know, you can't stay, you're, you're an asshole, you have to go. So, and he just thought he was just going to point his finger at me I'm five foot five and tell me that he paid and he'll do whatever the hell he wants to do. And it wasn't that way, you know, he didn't scare me. So, anyway, he had to leave. But he called and apologized yeah, was he drunk.

Speaker 4Oh yeah, I think when you say drugs.
Speaker 5Oh yeah, I think he was fine.
Speaker 4When you say he called and apologized, usually it's someone who's drunk, and then the next day they sober up and they're like, oh man, I was an idiot.
Speaker 5It was a funny conversation, you know, no hard feelings. I hope he gets straight. And my only comment to him was I says bad Benny, and that's what I call him bad Benny. I says bad Benny, and that's what I call him bad Benny. I says I've got one. Just one question Did your girlfriend put you up to this?
Speaker 4apology, the answer was yes.
Speaker 5The answer absolutely was probably yes, Because she told me I should do it and I said that's enough, we're good bad Benny. I said you take good care of yourself and get yourself out. Get yourself straight, bud, All right.

At first I thought you're gonna be like well, he was, you know whatever, and god rest his soul. I thought maybe you're gonna say like he well, he was, you know, whatever, and God rest his soul. And if they wanted to, where could they find you to do so?
Speaker 5Okay, why they should come to the Ross House, yeah, okay. Well, number one I think that in all honesty, I'm very, very fair on my pricing. Okay, I, um, I know and I'm not putting anybody down I understand a lot of these big places have a lot of um people that, um, they, they hire to help out and in this it's just me. Okay, I'm a lone soldier and I'm just doing my thing and I keep the prices reasonable. Um, it's an overnight stay, a total overnight stay. You're not leaving at five in the morning. Unless you want to leave at five in the morning. You can stay until nine o'clock in the morning.
Speaker 5The house is clean and, um, and the beds are clean. Uh, you know, you got good mattresses to sleep on, fresh bedding. If you can sleep there, some people can't. You know, some people have been actually pushed out of bed. Um, you know, I, I think, yeah, we've had that happen too um, in the main bedroom. So, you know, I just think it's a safe place because you could be in that house door locks automatically behind you. It's a good place to investigate because it doesn't fail very often at all.
Speaker 5You know, I don't know what else to say about it. You know there's things to do around to do that are not that far away. You can go over to the penitentiary. There's some. You know I always tell people you definitely got to go to the Prima Marina and if you come down there to that area again, definitely go to the Prima Marina to eat in Moundsville, because that's not far from the penitentiary. It's great food, big, large portions and great service. You know, it's just it's a good time.
Speaker 5You know I treat everybody great. I greet them at the door, I give them a tour, tell them everything they need to know, you know, and answer any question. I'm available to them on text after they're done. If they need to talk about something or text me about something, I'm there. You know I'll answer anything I can in a very, very honest way and um gotten into some a little bit of riffs over a few things that uh, that uh maybe um, I have disagreed with with people, not what they find, but some of uh, my beliefs and their beliefs don't always match up. Okay, and that's on the Ouija board.

Speaker 5You know, I don't believe for one second that that goddamn board's gonna bring in the devil. You know, um, and you know they said well, they don't use it properly, they don't close it out. I go, and they don't close out any other equipment either. I mean, when you use these other things, do you say I'm signing off or goodbye? You don't say that shit, you know. So you know I. Just I don't believe it's any different than any other piece of equipment where you're trying to communicate, and I won't believe it until somebody proves otherwise. How about that? You prove that to me, then I'll believe that. You know, I mean that how I, how I feel about it that makes sense.
Speaker 3We, we just did a, we did an episode, a few episodes back about about ouija boards, and we had some pretty uh interesting um stories that occurred uh from them. But I mean, I get it, you know, they're, you, like you said, it's like any other piece of equipment that you're going to use.
Speaker 3But see, like me, I think about that and I'm like, okay, I'm stopping this and you can't come with me. See, that's, that's that point. You know that I, you know that I put on it, but not a lot of people do that, and you're right. When they don't do that, then I mean, it's no different than using a Ouija board, and you can, or any other piece of equipment you have.

And I, and when it, when I feel, when there's negativity, that's in the house, I have this little lady who, um, you know, she'll come over and she'll talk to me and she'll, well, she actually goes in the house and she, you know, she says it's the people coming in, it's not the house. You know, your house is the same as always was. So, yeah, it's all good.

You know, um, still don't, and a lot of things you know, but, um, but one thing about it I don't I don't throw no bullshit at you, um, you know the house, it is what it is, and people, I hope people will go on to my not my website as much as my Facebook page, because my website's just my website.
